Chapter Index

At 5 PM, Muzuki put down the Sealing Technique scroll he was holding, tidied it up, and then went out to the market.

If he went to Lady Tsunade’s house, Lady Tsunade would be happy. If he brought groceries to Lady Tsunade’s house, Lady Tsunade would be extremely happy.

He skillfully walked to the front yard of Lady Tsunade’s house, where Shizune was practicing Taijutsu in the yard. Seeing Muzuki arrive, she immediately showed a happy smile and went to greet him.

    “Muzuki-sensei, you’re back.”

“Mm, how’s your Medical Ninjutsu study going recently?” Muzuki asked, touching Shizune’s head with the hand not holding the groceries.

Shizune could be considered half his disciple, so he still needed to show some concern.

“Let’s talk inside, I’ll help you carry these.” Shizune wanted to help Muzuki carry the groceries.

Muzuki raised the bag of groceries to a height where Shizune had to jump to touch it.

“Eh.” Shizune looked at Muzuki, puzzled.

Muzuki gently tapped Shizune’s forehead with his index and middle fingers together, “Your Muzuki-sensei isn’t that lazy. I’ve carried them for so long, a little distance to the kitchen won’t make a difference.”

After hearing Muzuki’s words, Shizune couldn’t help but think of Tsunade.

Although they were both adults, and Tsunade was even older, Muzuki was much more reliable and reassuring in every aspect.

    “Lady Tsunade, Muzuki-sensei is here.”

Shizune was very obedient. She didn’t insist on helping Muzuki carry the groceries but went back into the house to inform Tsunade and prepare tea.

“Oh, he’s here.” Tsunade was still lying on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling.

It wasn’t that she had just woken up at this hour. Although she had a hangover last night, she had woken up at 11 AM.

She had felt bored around 3 PM and a little sleepy, so she took a nap and had only just woken up.

“Muzuki-sensei brought a lot of groceries!” Shizune called out.

    Whoosh!

A strong gust of wind swept by, and the next moment, a fully dressed Tsunade appeared in front of Shizune.

“So fast!” Shizune said, staring wide-eyed at Tsunade, who seemed to have teleported.

“Where are they? Let me see what groceries there are. If anything’s missing, Shizune can go buy more while it’s still early.” Tsunade quickly looked around and found Muzuki at the kitchen door.

Before Shizune could retort, Tsunade quickly walked over to Muzuki, unceremoniously opened the grocery bag, and started rummaging through it.

“Hmm, it’s not bad. No need to buy any extra groceries.” Tsunade nodded with satisfaction.

“You boy, you’re quite thoughtful. You haven’t been back in Konoha for long, have you? Yet you still remember me.”

Tsunade, in her state of slacking off, wasn’t interested in national affairs, but too many people in Konoha were discussing them. Even if Tsunade didn’t intentionally listen, she still overheard quite a bit unintentionally.

“I just came back today. I didn’t expect Lady Tsunade to think of me like that. I feel like I don’t want to come anymore.” Muzuki sighed and said.

Tsunade looked at Muzuki with a black line on her face. What was this? A threat? Why did it feel so strange?

“If you don’t come, then fine. I’ll just come to your house to freeload on your food, it’s the same.” Tsunade indicated that this wouldn’t stump her.

She thought it was quite good, because it wasn’t her own house, so she wouldn’t have to wash dishes or clean the table.

“Lady Tsunade, you’re one of the Sannin, after all. Isn’t this bullying a junior?” Shizune, unable to watch any longer, spoke up to help.

“What’s so great about being a Sannin? Can it be eaten?” Tsunade said indifferently.

She didn’t even want to be a Ninja anymore, so why would she care about the Sannin’s reputation?

“Joke time is over. Both of you go out. I’m going to start cooking.” Muzuki felt it was about time and began to shoo them away.

In other aspects, Tsunade might argue, but when it came to Muzuki cooking, Tsunade was two hundred percent supportive and immediately walked back to the living room as Muzuki instructed.

Since one dish needed to stew for some time, Muzuki also took this opportunity to rest in the living room for a while.

“Muzuki, is there any Ninjutsu you want to develop recently?” Tsunade couldn’t help but ask.

Before, their interactions had a somewhat transactional nature. Muzuki brought her the joy of eating, and she taught Muzuki Medical Ninjutsu and helped Muzuki develop Sealing Technique.

Now that the Yang Seal development was complete, Tsunade felt like she was freeloading.

Although freeloading brought happiness, it wasn’t a long-term solution.

After all, Muzuki couldn’t possibly be so good-natured as to cook for her for a lifetime without expecting anything in return, could he?

    “Yes.” Muzuki nodded in response.

    “What type of Ninjutsu?”

    “Wood Release.”

“You fellow!” Tsunade couldn’t help but throw the cushion from the sofa at Muzuki.

Tsunade didn’t use much force, and Muzuki easily caught the incoming cushion.

“I’m asking you seriously.” Tsunade couldn’t help but roll her eyes and say.

Clearly, Tsunade thought Muzuki was joking.

Leaving aside the status of Wood Release in Konoha, or even the Ninja World, just the answer of developing a Bloodline Limit sounded like a joke.

“I am also answering you seriously.” Muzuki placed the cushion behind his back and leaned against it, answering calmly.

Using ‘development’ as an excuse to bring Wood Release into the open wasn’t something Muzuki decided on a whim; it was thoroughly thought out.

The current Muzuki was no longer that insignificant Root member or the unknown Chunin teacher at the Ninja Academy.

Muzuki’s title as the number one of the new generation wasn’t just talk; it was earned step by step on the battlefield. Hiruzen Sarutobi, Jiraiya, Minato Namikaze, they all witnessed Muzuki’s rise.

He now had both connections and his extraordinary talent had been recognized.

Indeed, there were no previous cases of developing Wood Release.

But then again, no Konoha Ninja had developed Ice Release before, nor had anyone developed Breathing Technique or Kenbunshoku Haki.

A once-in-a-century genius reappearing with Wood Release was indeed rare, but not entirely impossible.

Tsunade stared closely at Muzuki’s face. Seeing no hint of a joke, she couldn’t help but say, “That’s truly a far-fetched idea.”

Wood Release is essentially no different from other Bloodline Limits; it is also a product of mixing two basic Chakra natures.

The reason it has such special treatment is mainly because Wood Release is so rare, and its users are too strong.

Before Senju Hashirama, no one had seen Wood Release. After Senju Hashirama, no Ninja didn’t know about Wood Release, and it never appeared again.

Some people might think Wood Release is the Bloodline Limit of the Senju Clan, but it’s actually not.

In all those years of the Senju Clan, only Senju Hashirama possessed Wood Release.

The bloodline power of the Senju Clan is Chakra and vitality, inherited from their ancestor Asura’s Sage Body.

“It sounds just like an idea you would have.”

Muzuki’s impression on Tsunade was someone not bound by common sense; otherwise, he wouldn’t have thought of developing the Yang Seal.

“After all, there’s already the precedent of Ice Release, so I feel like it’s worth a try.

Ultimately, Wood Release is just a new Nature Transformation produced by mixing Water Release and Earth Release Chakra; it’s no more special than other Bloodline Limits.” Muzuki said with a faint smile, picking up the hot tea Shizune had poured.

“You understand it thoroughly, but it’s easier said than done.” Tsunade said, crossing her arms.

That’s the theory, but Wood Release somehow seems stranger than other Bloodline Limits, appearing very rarely.

“How about I help you look for things my grandfather left behind? It might be of some help to you.”

If Muzuki was to develop Wood Release, Tsunade certainly couldn’t personally help. At most, she could help Muzuki find some information.

She truly had no experience in developing Bloodline Limits; trying to help would only make things worse.

“Then I thank Lady Tsunade in advance.” Muzuki didn’t pretend to decline and readily accepted.

Although Hiruzen Sarutobi had already agreed to provide information, having Tsunade’s assistance would also lend some legitimacy.

After all, Tsunade was Senju Hashirama’s biological granddaughter.

After dinner, at Tsunade’s request, Muzuki didn’t leave but stayed to play Ninja Kill with Tsunade for two hours.

Since there were only three people, they played in a 1v2 landlord mode.

Essentially, it was like having only one Lord and two Rebels on the field.

Tsunade had been playing Ninja Kill for a while, but compared to Muzuki, an old hand who had played tens of thousands of matches in his previous life, she was still too green.

In the first game, Muzuki chose the Lord’s identity and became the landlord. The Ninja he chose was Akimichi Torifu.

His skill was Multi-Size Technique, which allowed him to reveal the top three cards of the deck when drawing, only obtaining basic cards, weapon cards, or duels from them, and then for a short period afterward, the damage from ‘Attack’ and ‘Duel’ increased by one.

In the first round, Muzuki did not activate his skill, simply drawing cards normally and then attacking Tsunade.

By the second round, because he still had an ‘Attack’ card in hand, he directly activated his skill.

However, Muzuki didn’t directly attack Tsunade, but instead used ‘Borrowed Sword to Kill’ on Shizune to attack Tsunade.

Shizune’s weapon was the Kusanagi Sword, which had the effect of allowing another ‘Attack’ if the target dodged after an ‘Attack’ was played.

Tsunade naturally didn’t want the Kusanagi Sword to fall into Muzuki’s hands. The Multi-Size Technique’s increased damage combined with such a weapon was simply too brutal.

So she directly let Shizune take the hit, losing one health point was better than Muzuki getting a suitable weapon.

Moreover, there was no ‘Attack’ card among the three cards Muzuki revealed this round, so he might not even be able to hit her.

Tsunade also considered the worst-case scenario: Muzuki having two or more ‘Attack’ cards in the previous round.

But she still wasn’t flustered. Although Tsunade was only a three-health Ninja, if Muzuki had an ‘Attack’ card, he could directly kill her. However, Shizune’s Ninja had a healing skill, so she wouldn’t die.

“Military Ration Pill, Attack.” Muzuki discarded two cards from his hand.

The Military Ration Pill’s effect was to increase ‘Attack’ damage by one, and allowed self-rescue when on the verge of death.

Adding Muzuki’s Ninja’s own skill, this ‘Attack’ dealt three points of damage, leaving Tsunade owing one health point.

“Shizune, save me!” Tsunade quickly looked at Shizune. This had just begun!

Shizune discarded two red cards to restore Tsunade to one health point.

“Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique.” Muzuki immediately played another card.

The effect of this card was that after playing it, others needed to play a ‘Dodge’ card, or lose one health point.

Tsunade, who had no ‘Dodge’ cards, looked at Shizune.

Shizune helplessly spread her hands to Tsunade. She was a three-health Ninja and could only hold three cards, all of which she had used up. She couldn’t help.

Without a teammate, Shizune also couldn’t withstand Muzuki, who had the landlord skill’s buff, and was also quickly brought to negative health.

“You were just lucky last game, let’s go again!” Tsunade said, looking unconvinced.

“Given my relationship with Grandpa, there must be Grandpa among these Ninja cards!” Tsunade slowly picked up the Ninja cards dealt to her.

Looking at names like Hyuga Ichizoku and Uchiha Shimada, Tsunade couldn’t help but show a disappointed expression.

These early Ninjas were not only boring for her to play, but their strength was also mediocre, incomparable to the later Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara.

“Does playing Ninja Kill also count as gambling?” Seeing Tsunade fail repeatedly, Shizune couldn’t help but wonder.

When Tsunade was the landlord, Muzuki won. When Muzuki was the landlord, Muzuki also won.

Shizune had reason to imagine that Tsunade had triggered her ‘always lose when gambling’ passive.

    Uchiha Clan Compound.

After finishing dinner, Shisui first strolled around the clan grounds with Zoroark.

Since Zoroark was quite large now and didn’t look as cute as before, Shisui had Zoroark maintain its illusion.

This way, when others saw Zoroark, they would see a normal Uchiha boy and wouldn’t scare little children.

After his walk, Shisui originally intended to go home to train, but remembering his previous agreement with Uchiha Itachi, he walked towards Uchiha Fugaku’s compound.

Uchiha Fugaku’s family had just finished dinner, and everyone was in the yard.

“Shisui, this is…?” Uchiha Fugaku looked at Zoroark, vaguely feeling something strange.

Logically, he, as the clan head, shouldn’t possibly not recognize such a large Uchiha boy.

“Zoroark, you don’t need to maintain the illusion here anymore.” Shisui said.

“So it was the Nin-Beast from that day.” Uchiha Fugaku recalled the battle during the clan meeting.

Shisui was the most dominant performer then, but Zoroark’s unique illusion also left a deep impression on the Uchiha.

    “Shisui-nii.”

Uchiha Itachi stood up and jogged over, not speaking, but silently looking at Shisui.

“Uncle Fugaku, I came to see Itachi today.” Shisui smiled, nodded at Uchiha Itachi, and then looked at Uchiha Fugaku, saying.

Uchiha Itachi hadn’t spoken, but Shisui could tell what Uchiha Itachi was thinking.

Uchiha Itachi was asking: “You didn’t forget our promise again, did you?”

“Then you young people chat more.”

Uchiha Fugaku smiled and nodded, then took Uchiha Mikoto into the living room, leaving the space to Shisui and Uchiha Itachi.

“I didn’t forget this time, oh.” Shisui squatted down to meet Uchiha Itachi’s gaze and smiled.

“Mm.” Uchiha Itachi’s lips curved slightly, looking to be in a good mood.

“Last time, I believe I was talking about becoming an Intern Ninja.”

    “Mm.”

“Ahem, then I’ll continue from there.” Shisui lightly coughed twice, beginning to recall the content he was going to tell.

“My intern sensei was Muzuki-sensei, and my two teammates were Anko Mitarashi, whom I mentioned to you before, and the other was a full-fledged Ninja, Shizune.”

“As a Ninja, unless there’s a huge difference in strength between each other, teammates are a very necessary presence.” Shisui reminded him.

Uchiha Itachi, who could accomplish the clan massacre, would definitely be a genius in the future.

He didn’t want Uchiha Itachi to develop a habit of working alone just because everyone around him was weaker.

Even Might Guy needed the strength of Obito and Kakashi on missions.

PS: My body is almost recovered. Tomorrow’s update should be more substantial.

And the content won’t be just pure daily life like this.

I mainly thought that after a period of war, it’s good to write some small daily life snippets to balance things out.
