Chapter Index

After encountering Pakura, Muzuki and his team didn’t encounter any more unexpected situations and successfully delivered the client to their destination.

“Truly reliable. If I ever go to Konoha to post a mission again, I’ll definitely specify you, Muzuki,” the middle-aged client highly praised Muzuki’s professional competence.

As an ordinary person, he wasn’t particularly knowledgeable about Ninja matters, but Muzuki was visibly strong and extremely dependable.

To express his gratitude, the middle-aged client even wanted to treat Muzuki and his team to a lavish meal at a famous local restaurant.

Muzuki asked for Obito’s opinion, and they ultimately politely declined the middle-aged client’s kind offer.

Normally, Obito would have been happy to have that big meal, but he was a bit concerned about the Akatsuki Organization in the Land of Rain.

The four of them discussed it and decided to investigate the Akatsuki Organization on their way back.

Because the information about the Akatsuki Organization was obtained from Uzumaki Naruto and Yamato, they had to keep it from Muzuki.

“We can ask Muzuki-sensei for a certain degree of free action, but not too far from him. That way, Muzuki-sensei can use Flying Thunder God to support us, and nothing unexpected will happen,” Kakashi said, expressing his thoughts.

Kakashi felt that an investigation was fine, but given how chaotic the Land of Rain was, they couldn’t go too far.

Otherwise, if they encountered another Kumogakure or Iwagakure strongman, it would be troublesome.

“We can let Obito bring it up, just say he wants to take some pictures of the scenery in the Land of Rain,” Shisui suggested.

“I do want to take pictures of the scenery in the Land of Rain,” Obito nodded. “Rin, you shouldn’t come, just stay with Muzuki-sensei.”

Rin Nohara was the weakest among them, with most of her abilities focused on healing. Her ability to handle danger was much worse than theirs.

“I’ll stay with Muzuki-sensei and help cover for you,” Rin Nohara agreed with a gentle smile.

She was very self-aware and would try her best not to burden Obito and the others.

The four of them acted immediately. Obito, holding his camera, awkwardly said to Muzuki:

“Muzuki-sensei, the mission is complete. Can I find some places to take some commemorative photos? I won’t stray too far from the team, and Kakashi and the others will come with me.”

“Go ahead then,” Muzuki readily agreed.

Muzuki also wanted to investigate more information about the Land of Rain, and slowing down their return was part of his plan.

“Hehe, Muzuki-sensei, you’re the best!” Seeing Muzuki agree directly, Obito chuckled and cheered.

“Be careful and don’t go too far,” Muzuki said with a smile, patting Obito’s head as a reminder.

Although he would definitely send a Shadow Clone to protect his disciples, Muzuki still hoped they would be more vigilant.

Obito nodded like a pecking chick, patting his chest vigorously to show he was fine.

After achieving their goal, Muzuki’s team began to split up. Muzuki and Rin Nohara went together, while Kakashi, Obito, and Shisui formed a group of three to investigate the Akatsuki Organization.

Obito and his team asked residents in several Villages and towns, but they either didn’t know anything or spoke highly of the Akatsuki Organization.

“The Akatsuki Organization is full of good Ninja. They even helped our Village drive away rogue Ninja before.”

“Akatsuki Organization? I heard it’s a good Ninja Organization. Entrusting them to subjugate mountain bandits is more cost-effective than going to a Ninja Village.”

The more they inquired about the Akatsuki Organization, the more confused Obito and his team became.

“Could it be a coincidence of names? Maybe these two Akatsuki Organizations aren’t the same Akatsuki Organization?” The more Obito listened, the more he felt that the Akatsuki Organization was a benevolent Ninja Organization, not a terrifying one.

“Hard to say,” Kakashi shook his head.

He had previously thought it was one Akatsuki Organization based on Shisui’s information, but now Kakashi was also a bit uncertain.

If they were just accumulating power, the Akatsuki Organization wouldn’t need to go to such lengths, organizing members to go around doing good deeds.

This was a meaningless endeavor. As a Ninja Organization, even if they did a hundred good deeds, if they only did one or two bad ones, their reputation would not be maintained.

Accepting employment to earn money was the correct way to accumulate power.

“Perhaps these two Akatsuki Organizations are the same Akatsuki Organization. The current Akatsuki Organization is indeed a benevolent Ninja Organization, and the future Akatsuki Organization is indeed a terrorist organization,” Shisui thought for a moment before speaking.

People change. Being kind now doesn’t mean being kind later, and being evil in the future doesn’t mean being evil in the past.

Shisui felt this was like Uchiha Itachi. Although Uchiha Itachi would exterminate the Uchiha clan in the future, the current Uchiha Itachi was just a naive child who spoke indistinctly.

Although they had only exchanged a few words, Shisui didn’t think the current Yahiko was a madman who would steal the Five Great Nations’ Tailed Beasts.

“That’s very possible,” Kakashi showed a thoughtful expression.

Although he was only ten years old this year, Kakashi had indeed experienced many things, and some things could truly change a person’s character drastically.

“So, is it or isn’t it?” Obito was confused by Shisui’s words.

Neither Shisui nor Kakashi answered Obito’s question. There was too little key information now, and they were only speculating.

“So troublesome. It would be great if we could just ask them directly,” Obito sighed.

Perhaps Obito’s mouth was blessed, or their luck had turned, but while they were gathering information, they happened to encounter Yahiko and others who were out maintaining public order, and they even witnessed Yahiko taking action.

“That orange-haired man using Water Release is Yahiko, the leader of the Akatsuki Organization,” Shisui whispered.

Because Yahiko had introduced himself before, Shisui knew him.

“He shouldn’t be the person Muzuki-sensei said could instantly kill you, right?” Obito said, stroking his chin.

Yahiko’s displayed strength was not weak, but to say he could instantly kill Shisui was too far-fetched.

Obito didn’t feel the aura of a strongman from Yahiko, not even as strong as Pakura, the Sunagakure hero they had encountered earlier.

“The red-haired person next to him is very strong!” Kakashi’s pupils constricted sharply after entering the Transparent World and seeing the massive Chakra within Nagato’s body.

This was definitely the most terrifying Chakra Kakashi had ever seen, even stronger than Muzuki’s Chakra.

But Kakashi quickly stopped caring about the Chakra on Nagato’s body because he discovered something even more astonishing. Just by looking with the Transparent World, he felt an extreme threat from Nagato’s eyes.

Nagato sensed something and looked in the direction of Kakashi and the others. Seeing their Konoha Chunin vests and headbands, Nagato frowned.

“Yahiko, some Konoha Ninja have arrived over there,” Nagato reported this information to Yahiko.

He didn’t particularly like Konoha Ninja, but he wouldn’t casually attack them either.

“Konoha Ninja over there, we’ve already spotted you!” Yahiko shouted directly in the direction Nagato pointed.

Yahiko didn’t have much ill will towards Konoha Ninja, and coupled with the fact that Konoha Ninja had saved Akatsuki Organization members recently, Yahiko didn’t mind being spied on.

“What should we do? Should we go out, or just leave?” Obito asked Kakashi.

Kakashi took out a Flying Thunder God kunai from his Ninja tool pouch, examined it, and put it back. Then, Kakashi created a Shadow Clone and ran with all his might towards Muzuki’s location.

Kakashi was someone who didn’t want to be in a dangerous position. If Muzuki wasn’t nearby, he would have left without hesitation.

“Let’s go take a look, but be careful to maintain distance, especially with that red-haired person,” Kakashi replied.

Then, the three of them emerged from the shadows, looking at Yahiko and Nagato.

“They are the Konoha Ninja who helped me before,” the tall, thin Ninja immediately said when he saw Kakashi and his team.

“What a coincidence,” Yahiko was a bit surprised.

“Thank you so much last time. This is Yahiko, our Akatsuki Organization’s leader,” the tall, thin Ninja introduced Yahiko.

Yahiko observed the three of them and found Shisui surprisingly familiar. After a moment of thought, he remembered encountering him once when they went to eliminate bandits in the Land of Rivers, and there was a small misunderstanding.

“So it’s you! The Ninja World is truly small. We met once in the Land of Rivers, do you remember?” Yahiko said with a smile, greeting Shisui.

    Shisui nodded in acknowledgment.

“We heard that your organization is a Ninja Organization that seeks peace and stability,” Kakashi said after carefully choosing his words.

Since Yahiko was acting so friendly, Kakashi felt he could try to probe for some information.

“That’s right! The Akatsuki’s establishment is to bring peace to the Land of Rain and the entire Ninja World!” Yahiko replied happily.

He felt that the more people knew about the Akatsuki Organization’s dream, the closer the Akatsuki Organization would be to achieving it.

“Although we still have many shortcomings, I believe that as long as we work hard, we will definitely succeed!” Yahiko thought of the man named Sōsuke.

Yahiko had been diligently protecting Villages outside these days, not only to make the Akatsuki Organization famous but also to meet Sōsuke again.

But Sōsuke was like a shadow, coming and going without a trace. Not only had Yahiko not seen him, but he hadn’t even heard any news about him.

Kakashi observed all the Akatsuki Organization members, then turned his gaze back to Yahiko, who was excitedly describing the Akatsuki Organization’s future.

“What happened to make such an Akatsuki Organization become a terrorist organization that steals Tailed Beasts?” Kakashi felt a little heavy-hearted.

When Yahiko spoke about the Akatsuki Organization’s dream and future, all the Akatsuki Organization members looked full of longing. This was very difficult to fake, unless they had rehearsed it beforehand.

Although Kakashi didn’t know what would happen, he guessed it would be a very tragic catastrophe.

“War should not exist,” Obito agreed with Yahiko’s words.

Obito also wanted to end the war, to make Konoha and the Land of Fire peaceful, so that no more Ninja would die in war.

“You think so too?” Yahiko looked at Obito with shining eyes.

If it weren’t for Obito’s identity as a Konoha Ninja, Yahiko would have invited Obito to join the Akatsuki Organization on the spot.

Yahiko had inspired some Ninja to join the Akatsuki Organization, but more often than not, he faced disapproval and ridicule for his dream and goals.

“My dream is to end the war and become Hokage!” Obito said, puffing out his chest and raising his head.

Although Kakashi always said he wasn’t cut out to be Hokage, Obito felt he could do it.

“If you work hard, you will succeed! At that time, we can cooperate to bring peace back to the Ninja World faster!” Yahiko said with a hearty laugh.

At this moment, Obito found Yahiko incredibly pleasing to the eye, thinking Yahiko was a very good person, someone he could get along with.

As long as you think I can become Hokage, then he is his good friend.

Because they still had to go to other places to check the situation, although Yahiko wanted to chat with Obito more, he had to leave.

“Goodbye. I hope that when we hear news of each other again, we will both be famous throughout the Ninja World,” Yahiko bid farewell.

He truly hoped that like-minded people like Obito would become Hokage. The Five Great Ninja Villages had a great influence in the Ninja World.

“Definitely! Just wait for the name Uchiha Obito to spread throughout the Ninja World!” Obito said his name at their farewell.

The three of them watched the Akatsuki Organization Ninja leave, then stopped their investigation of the Akatsuki Organization.

After this exchange, Kakashi could basically confirm that the current Akatsuki Organization and the future Akatsuki Organization were completely different, and further investigation would be pointless.

No matter what they would become in the future, for now, they were a group of Ninja fighting for peace.

However, Kakashi still had a headache regarding the Akatsuki Organization.

For Uchiha Itachi, they could choose to guide him from a young age to change the future.

But the Akatsuki Organization was not so easy to deal with. Those Akatsuki Organization Ninja were much older than them, and there was also a red-haired Ninja whose strength was unknown.

Obito didn’t think that much. What he wanted most in his heart now was for Muzuki and Rin Nohara to survive the Third Shinobi World War, and then for Minato not to die from the Nine-Tailed rampage, and for the Uchiha clan not to be annihilated.

After returning to the team, Kakashi could never forget those eyes that gave him a fatal sense of danger. Kakashi drew that unique eye on paper, then tentatively asked Muzuki.

“Muzuki-sensei, I saw this on a mural somewhere in the Land of Rain. It feels so unique. Is it a special local culture?” Kakashi asked calmly.

Obito looked at Kakashi in confusion. When did Kakashi sneak off to look at murals by himself? Weren’t they always inquiring about the Akatsuki Organization’s news?

Muzuki took the paper Kakashi handed him, thought for a moment, and replied, “It has many names: Sage’s Eye, Eye that Controls Life and Death, Rinnegan. It’s the Six Paths Sage’s eye.”

Kakashi showed a shocked expression. He had thought it might be a very powerful Bloodline Limit, but he never expected it to have such a grand origin, even related to the Six Paths Sage.

Although most people revered the Six Paths Sage like a deity, the Six Paths Sage was not a fictional myth, but a real person. He was considered the progenitor of Ninja because he founded the Shinobi Sect.

“Huh? The Six Paths Sage’s eye?” Obito, hearing it was the Six Paths Sage’s eye, quickly leaned forward to take a look.

Kakashi didn’t give Obito this chance. To prevent exposing information, Kakashi pulled Obito aside for combat practice.

Shisui couldn’t remain calm either when he heard it. The Six Paths Sage was too special for Ninja.
