Chapter Index

“Teacher Muzuki.” Shizune was a little surprised to see Muzuki, and then greeted him.

She was also a student who graduated this year, having participated in Muzuki’s special training and studied with him for a period, so she had a very good impression of him.

Muzuki revealed a gentle smile and nodded.

“Hmm?” Hearing Shizune’s voice, Tsunade looked towards Muzuki in confusion. Only after a closer look did she realize it wasn’t Minato Namikaze, but someone she didn’t know.

Because Minato Namikaze often followed Jiraiya, and Muzuki also had similar blonde hair and a gentle smile, Tsunade hadn’t paid attention and automatically assumed the person behind Jiraiya was Minato Namikaze.

“Shizune, you know him?” Tsunade turned and asked Shizune.

“Yes, he is Hayate Mugetsu. He taught me for a while; he is a very impressive teacher.” Shizune replied softly.

“Then isn’t he a Ninja Academy teacher?” Tsunade thought for a moment before speaking.

Since Shizune’s instructor was her, Muzuki could only be a Ninja Academy teacher.

    Shizune nodded.

“Don’t underestimate Muzuki! Although he’s a Ninja Academy teacher, his strength is considerable. Not only did he defeat Explosion Release Hunter, but he also helped me repel a Jinchuriki.” Jiraiya listed Muzuki’s most prominent public achievements.

“I never said Ninja Academy teachers were necessarily weak. So, what business do you have here today?” Tsunade patted her mouth, asking with a look suggesting she hadn’t slept enough.

She had forgotten when she finally went to sleep yesterday, only remembering that she had been drinking and eating continuously.

“Muzuki has recently been studying Medical Ninjutsu, but he ran into some difficulties, so he wanted to ask you for guidance.” Jiraiya stated their purpose for coming.

Although Muzuki said yesterday that he could communicate himself, Jiraiya felt it would be better if he spoke, considering they were old friends of so many years.

“Asking for guidance on Medical Ninjutsu? Then you can go back. I don’t have the time or the interest to teach Medical Ninjutsu to anyone else.” Tsunade refused outright upon hearing this.

Tsunade might step in to treat illnesses, but teaching was out of the question. Currently, she was only interested in teaching Shizune and no one else.

Jiraiya looked slightly awkward. Tsunade’s refusal was expected, but he hadn’t anticipated it being so swift and direct.

“Lady Tsunade, I will not waste much of your time, and I won’t ask you to teach for free. I can pay a reward.” Muzuki said with an unchanging smile.

Hearing about payment, Tsunade became slightly interested. After all, her extravagant lifestyle was very expensive; sometimes, if she lost quickly enough, she could lose millions of Ryo in a single night.

“How much money can you give me? I am one of the Sannin, and the strongest Medical Ninja in the Ninja World.” Tsunade emphasized her identity.

Coincidentally, she had lost most of her money recently, so she needed to recover some funds from Muzuki.

Seeing that Tsunade became negotiable once payment was mentioned, Jiraiya wore a helpless smile.

“How about 100,000 Ryo per hour?” Muzuki offered a very high price.

The normal procedure would have been for Muzuki to offer a low price, wait for Tsunade to raise it, and then negotiate down slightly. After all, at 100,000 Ryo per hour, Muzuki’s small stash wouldn’t last a whole day.

However, Muzuki had already thought of other methods; if things went smoothly, he would only need to spend money initially.

“100,000 Ryo per hour, huh.” Tsunade was somewhat tempted after hearing that.

100,000 Ryo was a significant amount; the reward for a standard B-Rank Mission was only about 100,000 Ryo, and you couldn’t keep all of it yourself.

“If I only deal with this for a few hours a day, after saving up for a few days, I can happily go gambling again.” Thinking this, Tsunade decided to take the job.

“Since Shizune says you’re an impressive teacher, I’ll reluctantly agree.” Tsunade finally replied.

“Thank you, Lady Tsunade.” Muzuki revealed a gentle smile and thanked her.

The first step is always the hardest; as long as Tsunade was willing to teach initially, things would be much easier later on.

“Do you want to start now? If so, I’ll begin timing. Also, once we start, even if it’s less than an hour, the full 100,000 Ryo will be charged.” Tsunade warned.

Jiraiya interrupted Muzuki with a look and pulled him aside.

“Haha, sorry about that, Muzuki. Tsunade isn’t usually like this; she must have lost too much money recently.” Jiraiya offered an explanation for Tsunade.

Tsunade certainly had a bad temper, but this kind of behavior was still relatively rare.

“It’s fine. After all, Lady Tsunade isn’t my teacher, and it’s perfectly normal to pay her a reward.” Muzuki said with a smile.

Next, Jiraiya patted his clothes, pulled out 600,000 Ryo, handed it to Muzuki, and said:

“I didn’t bring much money with me, but here’s about 600,000 Ryo. Take it for now.”

He was the one who brought Muzuki here, and now that things had turned out this way, he felt a little apologetic. Although the money was given to Muzuki, its essence was meant for Tsunade.

If Tsunade had actively asked Jiraiya for money, he wouldn’t blink an eye lending her a few million Ryo.

“Thank you for your kindness, Lord Jiraiya, but this is my business, and you shouldn’t have to be responsible for it.” Muzuki politely declined Jiraiya’s offer.

Seeing Muzuki’s determined gaze, Jiraiya patted his shoulder without saying anything more, and walked back to Tsunade with Muzuki.

“Tsunade, it’s been a long time since we ate together. How about we drink tonight? I’ll call Orochimaru too.” Jiraiya invited with a smile.

Since the Second Shinobi World War, the three of them rarely gathered. Jiraiya traveled the Ninja World, Tsunade left behind legends of being a big spender everywhere she went, and Orochimaru focused solely on researching various Ninjutsu and forbidden techniques.

“Drinking, huh? No problem.” Tsunade readily agreed.

Her time for teaching was limited, but her time for drinking was plentiful.

After successfully inviting Tsunade to drink with them, Jiraiya left. He still needed to find Orochimaru, who was also hard to locate as he was usually not home.

“So, how many hours do you want to study today?” Tsunade looked at Muzuki with interest. At this moment, Muzuki had transformed into the appearance of cash in her eyes.

“Let’s start with six hours then.” Muzuki replied after thinking for a moment.

It was currently 12:30 PM, and six hours later would be exactly dinner time.

After speaking, Muzuki found his wallet, took out 600,000 Ryo in bills, and handed them to Tsunade.

Tsunade glanced at the money, felt there were no issues, and nodded in satisfaction. 100,000 Ryo per hour was indeed a very good figure.

“You’re pretty good. I like you. Ask whatever questions you have quickly.” Tsunade tossed the money to Shizune for safekeeping, then looked at Muzuki and said.

Muzuki had proactively paid even before she asked, and this straightforwardness made Tsunade regard him a little more favorably.
