Chapter Index

    Monday, early morning.

Obito’s biological clock woke him up automatically. After washing up, he ate the breakfast his grandmother prepared and got ready to head to the Ninja Academy.

Today was the Ninja Academy’s final exam, but for Obito, this exam was unlike any previous one, because this was the graduation exam. Passing it meant receiving a forehead protector on the spot, signifying graduation from the Ninja Academy.

“Obito, are you up? It’s the graduation exam today!”

Just as Obito was about to leave, Rin Nohara’s voice reached his ears. So, Obito quickly changed his shoes while saying,

“How could I possibly sleep in today? I’ve already had breakfast.”

Obito quickly put on his shoes and walked out. The moment he stepped outside, he saw Rin Nohara smiling and waving at him.

“I was worried you’d be late, Obito, just like when you first enrolled, so I specifically came to call you. It seems I underestimated you, Obito,” Rin Nohara said with a smile.

Rin Nohara didn’t know what the consequences would be if one was late for the graduation exam, but she felt it wouldn’t be good. So, she got up early, washed up, ate, and then rushed to Obito’s house to call him.

“I’m the man who’s going to end the war and become Hokage! I won’t keep making the same mistake!” Obito said confidently, puffing out his chest and raising his head.

Even if he encountered someone needing help today, Obito had a way not to be late. He could use the Shadow Clone Technique to have a Shadow Clone help the elder while he went to school for the exam.

“Then will Obito no longer need my help in the future?” Rin Nohara asked with a light laugh, her hands behind her back, leaning slightly forward as she looked into Obito’s eyes.

“This… this…” Obito stammered, a bit incoherent. Saying he needed help would be going back on his words, but how could he possibly say he didn’t need Rin Nohara’s help?

“That’s not the same thing. The Hokage also needs the help of comrades, just like Senju Hashirama became Hokage with everyone’s support. Of course, I need your help, Rin,” Obito’s mind raced, and he suddenly remembered an example Muzuki had given, so he quickly said.

At this moment, he was glad he had listened attentively to Muzuki’s lecture that time. Although there were many things he didn’t understand, he had remembered them.

“Then let’s hurry to school,” Rin Nohara said, covering her mouth and laughing for a while after seeing Obito’s reaction.

Actually, she was just joking. Of course, she knew Obito would never say he didn’t need her help.

“Mm, if we go early, we can handle any situation we encounter on the way,” Obito said, letting out a sigh of relief as he looked at Rin Nohara’s smile, then nodded heavily.

“I wonder what this year’s graduation exam topic will be.”

On the way, Obito looked for topics to chat with Rin Nohara. Opportunities for the two of them to stroll down the street like this were rare.

“No matter what Ninjutsu it is, you’ll definitely have no problem, Obito,” Rin Nohara had great confidence in Obito’s Ninjutsu level.

For the exam, Muzuki specifically assessed the basic Ninjutsu of the disciples who needed to take the exam. Even Might Guy could perform decent basic Ninjutsu, and Obito was even more proficient.

“Haha, after all, these basic Ninjutsu are much simpler compared to the Fire Release taught by Teacher Muzuki,” Obito said, unable to help but show a proud smile on his face.

The graduation exam had no theory component; it only tested basic Ninjutsu, and it could be any one of the basic Ninjutsu taught. Obito believed he could easily get a perfect score no matter what they tested.

“If only every exam didn’t have theory,” Obito couldn’t help but sigh.

Theory was simply his lifelong enemy. His ‘dead last’ title was given to him because his theory was too poor. In reality, he wasn’t at the very bottom in actual combat.

Because of these damned theory scores, he had done who knows how many problems, yet he still got mocked by Kakashi for his poor theory.

“When I become Hokage, I must abolish the theory exam!” Obito thought to himself.

But he quickly thought of something else: when he became Hokage, no one would test his theory, and no one would be able to experience the suffering he endured in school anymore.

“Forget it, this exam exists for a reason. I should still pay attention to it,” Obito felt it wasn’t good to casually deprive students of their theory exam qualification.

Not only could it not be canceled, but he also had to create more test papers to hand out as homework to improve the overall theoretical level of students.

“Obito, you can’t stop studying after you graduate, you know. Didn’t Kakashi say that the Chunin Exams also have a theory exam?” Rin Nohara reminded him when she heard Obito’s words.

The name he didn’t want to hear and the exam he didn’t want to hear entered his mind together, and Obito instantly felt his head swell.

“I’ll worry about future things later. First, let’s pass the graduation exam!” Obito said helplessly, scratching his head.

After thinking it over, he decided to leave future worries to his future self. Go, future him!

“Senior Obito, Senior Rin, good morning.”

At this moment, a lively and lovely female voice came from behind the two, accompanied by two male voices.

Obito turned around and looked back, finding that it was several students from Muzuki’s class, so he responded.

“Senior Obito, why the long face so early in the morning? Do even strong people like you have worries?” Anko asked curiously.

After the results were announced last time, Obito and Might Guy’s mission quality shocked the entire Ninja Academy. This time, their reputation spread throughout every grade, making them the two strongest in the Ninja Academy.

“Haha, it’s nothing big, just thinking about something unpleasant,” Obito laughed twice and brushed it off.

He didn’t want his admiring juniors to know that he was afraid of theory exams.

“Perhaps this is the loneliness of the strong. Senior Obito has no rivals in the Ninja Academy,” Kotetsu Hagane made a melancholic expression, thinking Obito was lonely at the top.

“Kotetsu, you’ve been reading too many novels lately, haven’t you? I think Senior Obito is probably sad to leave his friends and classmates after graduating,” Izumo Kamizuki retorted.

“I have indeed read quite a few novels recently. I feel like I’m going to bomb this exam,” Kotetsu Hagane nodded, saying with a regretful expression.

“Now that you mention it, I just remembered. I’ve also been playing games every day recently and haven’t reviewed. I feel like I’ll do much worse than last time. I can’t do this again next time,” Izumo Kamizuki also showed a regretful expression.

“Really? I studied for three days! So, is it possible I’ll score higher than you Guys this time?” Anko was a little happy, but because of her two good friends’ past behavior, there was still a hint of doubt in her eyes.

No matter how naive and thick-skinned she was, she should be on guard after being tricked so many times.

“That shouldn’t be the case. No matter how bad I score, it can’t be lower than yours, Anko, right?” Kotetsu Hagane shook his head and said.

He felt that no matter how low he scored, it couldn’t be below ninety-five, and Anko had never scored even ninety.

“Indeed, being worse than Anko, you’d probably have to not read for two consecutive months. In a way, that’s quite difficult too,” Izumo Kamizuki showed a look of agreement.

“Ahhh! I knew you two scoundrels had ill intentions! Have you had breakfast? If not, take a punch from me!” Anko, unable to hold back, chased after the two.

Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki quickly fled towards the school. Once inside the exam room, Anko wouldn’t dare to be reckless.

“That’s so nice, that kind of friendship,” Rin Nohara smiled, watching the three chasing each other.

Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki were merciless with their words, and Anko was quick to strike, but Rin Nohara could see that their relationship was very good. Anko wasn’t really using force when she hit them, and Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki were mostly joking.

“I feel like I see reflections of you and Kakashi in them,” Rin Nohara said, covering her mouth and laughing.

Although their expressions were different, they were also two-faced, enjoying playing tricks on each other.

“No way,” Obito expressed a negative attitude about this.

As they were about to arrive at the Ninja Academy, they also ran into Might Guy, who was jogging.

“The half-hour morning warm-up is complete! Now, full effort for the exam!” Might Guy revealed his dazzling white teeth, giving himself a thumbs-up and laughing heartily.

“Mm, good luck,” Rin Nohara clenched her fist and cheered for Might Guy.

Might Guy was the worst at Ninjutsu among Muzuki’s disciples. His efficiency in learning Ninjutsu was too low. This Ninjutsu talent was truly embarrassing, but having even a little was better than none. After all, if he truly had no talent at all, he wouldn’t be able to learn Armament Haki. For Might Guy, just getting started with Armament Haki was a gain.

“Guy, good luck,” Obito also smiled and cheered for Might Guy. The graduation exam didn’t have actual combat, so this time they wouldn’t be opponents.

“Mm, everyone, let’s pass the exam with passionate youth!” Might Guy smiled and nodded, also giving Obito and Rin Nohara a thumbs-up.

Then the three walked into the classroom together.

They arrived relatively early. There was still some time before the graduation exam began, and not all the students in the classroom had arrived yet.

As the three walked into the classroom together, they instantly attracted a lot of attention. Of course, the main focus was on Obito and Might Guy.

At that time, Might Guy and Obito just glanced at their results and left, but they left many legends within the Ninja Academy.

For example, the conversation between Obito, Kakashi, and Might Guy revealed the fact that Obito and Might Guy had defeated Kakashi in actual combat.

Another example was Obito’s two mysterious A-Rank Missions. A Chunin teacher personally said that he had never done an A-Rank Mission, and everyone was curious how Obito’s team completed such high-difficulty missions. It was known that, according to Obito, they encountered a Jonin during the mission.

But after all, it was the graduation exam, which concerned becoming a Ninja, so the students were relatively serious. Only a few who were close to Obito took the opportunity to ask a question; there was no situation where students gathered to discuss.

When the exam time arrived, Ikeya Yu, the homeroom teacher of Class 2, Grade 4, walked into the classroom with another teacher from Class 4.

Graduation assessments are usually proctored by the class’s subject teachers, with the homeroom teacher’s participation being mandatory.

“Everyone, quiet down. The graduation exam officially begins. The students whose names are called will come with us to the adjacent classroom for the exam.”

“This year’s topic is Clone Technique!” Ikeya Yu announced this year’s graduation exam topic.
