Chapter 375 Battlefield Training
by Sunflower“How unlucky, it’s the Yellow Flash.”
The Iwagakure Ninja saw Minato Namikaze leading a team and appearing before him, and instantly felt that his already slim hope of escape had completely vanished.
Minato Namikaze had been known for his extraordinary speed among the Iwagakure during the battles in the Land of Grass, making him the Ninja most feared by the Iwagakure Ninja, second only to Jiraiya.
Now, Minato Namikaze had even fought the New AB Combo from Kumogakure to a standstill on the Land of Hot Springs battlefield, becoming a renowned strong Ninja in the Ninja World, with his danger level increasing once more. He didn’t believe he could escape from such a Minato Namikaze.
“Don’t be arrogant, Minato-sensei doesn’t need to make a move to deal with you guys.” Obito and Kakashi exchanged glances, striking a battle pose as they spoke.
The two walked in front, protecting Rin Nohara behind them, continuously approaching the five Iwagakure Ninja ahead.
Minato Namikaze, meanwhile, threw out several Flying Thunder God Kunai to block any potential escape routes for the Iwagakure.
He wouldn’t make a move in this battle; he would only support Obito and the others.
Before coming out, Minato Namikaze had already sensed the Chakra of the five Iwagakure Ninja. Only one Ninja might be a Jonin; the other Ninja’s Chakra wasn’t strong, likely Chunin or Genin, so Obito and his team could handle them.
The leading Iwagakure Special Jonin saw Minato Namikaze being so overconfident and instantly rejoiced. If he couldn’t defeat Minato Namikaze, surely he could defeat three Ninja who looked to be around ten years old?
“If you want to use us as whetstones, then be prepared for the blade to break.” The Iwagakure Special Jonin thought fiercely.
Originally, encountering Minato Namikaze meant certain death for them, but if the opponents were Obito and his two teammates, it would be different.
He was a Special Jonin, and he had three Chunin and one Genin as teammates. This lineup was enough to encircle and kill a Jonin. He didn’t believe those three kids were a Jonin and two Chunin.
However, the Iwagakure Special Jonin did not relax. He knew Minato Namikaze would certainly not just stand by and watch. If his subordinates were in danger, Minato Namikaze would definitely intervene personally. But this was their only chance for survival. As long as they successfully held one person hostage, they would have a chance to retreat, or at the very least, kill a Konoha Ninja.
“Earth Release: Rock Iron Cannon Technique!”
Under the command of the Iwagakure Special Jonin, four Iwagakure Ninja quickly gathered Chakra and spat out rocks, aiming them at Kakashi and Obito.
“Flame Breathing, Full Concentration!”
“Thunder Breathing, Full Concentration!”
After preparing to attack, Obito and Kakashi immediately focused their breathing.
“Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!”
Obito gathered Chakra in his throat, then rapidly converted it into Fire Release Chakra and exhaled it in one breath.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Intense orange-red flames were continuously spewed out, rapidly forming a giant fireball that flew towards the five Iwagakure.
The giant fireball engulfed the rocks spat out by the Iwagakure and continued to hurtle towards their position.
“A genius Ninja…” The Iwagakure Special Jonin gripped the sharp sword in his hand, his eyes fixed on Obito.
Due to the considerable power of the fireball, the Iwagakure Ninja had no intention of taking it head-on and scattered to dodge.
“Flash: Double Strike!”
Just then, Kakashi moved.
He didn’t waste the opportunity Obito created, immediately erupting Chakra in his legs, causing a dazzling lightning to appear, and Kakashi instantly transformed into a Flash of lightning, charging out.
Swish! Swish!
Two flashes of lightning streaked by, blood blossomed, and in an instant, two Iwagakure Chunin died directly under Kakashi’s blade.
The Iwagakure Special Jonin’s eyelids twitched. He found that he seemed unable to dodge such a fast blade.
At this moment, the Iwagakure Special Jonin understood Minato Namikaze’s actions. Minato Namikaze wasn’t being overconfident; it was because these three brats were not simple!
“Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!”
While the opponents were dodging the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, Rin Nohara quickly formed hand signs to use the Water Dragon Bullet Technique, conjuring a water dragon that surged towards the Iwagakure.
Just as the Iwagakure thought they had dodged the Water Dragon Bullet, Rin Nohara suddenly changed her technique, transforming the Water Dragon Bullet into a thick stream of water that drenched them completely.
This was a technique Mei Terumī demonstrated during the Chunin Exams. Muzuki studied it for a period, successfully replicated it, and then taught it to Rin Nohara.
Because this technique requires highly demanding Chakra shape transformation, Rin Nohara could only use it while in a focused state of Water Breathing.
“Lightning Release: Purple Lightning!”
Chakra erupted from Kakashi’s hand, and an incredibly dazzling Purple Lightning appeared in his hand, then dispersed into a large current, enveloping the Iwagakure Ninja.
The Iwagakure who had just been hit by the Water Release were truly in trouble. Only the Iwagakure Special Jonin barely managed to hold on; the other two Iwagakure were directly knocked out by the electricity.
“Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Claw Crimson!”
Seeing that the Iwagakure Special Jonin’s speed was limited due to paralysis, Obito unceremoniously unleashed the B-Rank Fire Release, sending a large number of fiery Shuriken towards the Iwagakure Special Jonin.
Boom!
An explosion rang out, and there were no standing Iwagakure Ninja left on the field.
“Everyone performed very well, both in teamwork and individual performance.” Minato praised them unreservedly.
At first, he was worried that Obito would go all out and unleash large-scale Fire Release Ninjutsu.
While that would also lead to a win, it would waste a lot of unnecessary Chakra, and if they encountered another enemy, it would be dangerous.
Obito chuckled, “After all, it’s just an A-Rank Mission; the enemies aren’t very strong.”
“If you came alone, you’d know whether the enemies are strong or not.” Kakashi said calmly.
“Kakashi, what you’re saying doesn’t make sense. They’re a team too, why should I be alone?” Obito argued forcefully.
“Alright, don’t argue. Kakashi is worried you’ll get hurt due to carelessness, Obito.” Rin Nohara reluctantly stepped in to mediate.
“I’m worried he’ll make a mistake that causes damage to our entire squad.” Kakashi emphasized.
“I wouldn’t…” Obito wanted to retort to Kakashi but was interrupted by Minato.
“Since the mission is complete, let’s go to the camp to rest.” Minato Namikaze said with a gentle smile.
Although Kakashi and Obito often argued, Minato Namikaze could see that their relationship was very good, and arguing was a part of their daily interaction.
However, this was still a battlefield, and they had spent a lot of energy searching along the way, so they needed to rest and conserve their energy.
“Camp? Aren’t we going back to Konoha?” Obito asked, puzzled.
“During wartime, Jiraiya-sensei, as the unit commander, also has the right to issue missions. We can stay here and do missions for a while longer.” Minato explained.
Since he wanted to alleviate Konoha’s pressure, Minato naturally couldn’t just go back after one mission. He had to stay for a while longer and eliminate more enemies.
Of course, to accommodate Obito and the others, Minato would not take on overly dangerous missions.
“Oh, I see. That’s quite convenient then.” Obito had no objection to this and even found it quite reasonable.
If they went back, accepted a new mission, then went abroad again and returned to the village, just the travel time would take a lot of time.
Then, the three of them went with Minato to Konoha’s camp in the Land of Grass.
“Haha, Minato, with you here, I can relax a lot more.” Jiraiya was very happy to learn of Minato’s arrival.
Minato Namikaze was simply too useful as a Ninja. He could instantly kill low-to-mid-level Ninja almost like mowing grass, and he could also deal with strong Ninja like the AB Combo. In battles against Jinchuriki, he could be an excellent support.
“Toad Uncle, I’m here too! Are there any really difficult A-Rank Missions? I’ll complete them all for you!” Obito said, looking like a mission fanatic.
“Hmm, Kakashi is here too. He might become a famous genius Ninja on the battlefield.” Jiraiya looked at Kakashi, nodding and smiling.
Obito’s forehead creased into a furrow, feeling that Jiraiya was doing it on purpose.
“And Rin too! We really need medical Ninja on the battlefield, you’re a great help!” Then Jiraiya gave Rin Nohara a thumbs up.
“Damn it, Toad Uncle, I’m standing right in front of you, can’t you see me?!” Obito got a little agitated when Jiraiya praised everyone in the squad but didn’t mention him.
“Goggles brat, show me some respect. Either call me Toad Sage or Jiraiya-sama.” Jiraiya chopped Obito on the head with his hand.
“Otherwise, if you anger me, forget A-Rank Missions, you won’t even get C-Rank Missions. I’ll make you do D-Rank missions every day.”
“Alright then, Jiraiya Uncle.” Obito reluctantly changed his address.
Calling him a Sage was impossible; in his heart, there were only two Sages: Muzuki Sage and Six Paths Sage.
“You brat.” Jiraiya was amused by Obito’s stubbornness.
“Jiraiya-sensei, don’t tease Obito anymore. Let me understand the current battle situation.” Minato said helplessly.
Jiraiya was so easygoing that he wouldn’t possibly get angry just because someone didn’t call him “sama.” He was just teasing Obito because he found it amusing, and Minato was very familiar with this.
…
On Monday, Anko went to the Training Ground Muzuki had mentioned.
Anko thought she was early enough, but when she arrived, she found that Muzuki and Shisui had already arrived, and she was the only one left.
“Muzuki-sensei, and everyone, good morning.” Anko didn’t mind such trivial matters, showing a cheerful smile as she greeted them.
“You all came so early! I even came three minutes early.”
“Everyone already knows each other, so we’ll skip the self-introduction part and go straight to training.” Muzuki nodded and said.
The three students nodded, having no objections.
Then, Muzuki took out three bells from his Ninja tool pouch and said, “The training content is very simple: grab the bells from my hand. Whoever gets a bell will be taught a powerful Ninjutsu or Taijutsu.”
Although it was still a bell-grabbing exercise, Muzuki wasn’t playing the old trick of “grab it and you pass.”
The old bell-grabbing exercise was to train Ninjas in cooperation and teamwork. However, due to the significant difference in strength between Shisui, Anko, and the others, forcing cooperation might be counterproductive. So, Muzuki changed the rules, turning passing into a reward. This type of bell-grabbing was no longer a teamwork exercise but a test of strength and a way to stimulate interest in training.
“How strong is ‘powerful’?” Anko asked curiously.
“Lightning Release: False Darkness!”
Muzuki quickly formed hand signs in his hand, then exhaled a sharp lightning spear, splitting down a small section of trees. For a moment, the loud thud of falling trees echoed continuously.
“Tempest Kick!”
Then, Muzuki gathered Chakra in his feet and rapidly kicked out several slashes, shattering the stones.
“It’s roughly like that.” Muzuki said with a gentle smile after retracting his foot.
He wasn’t lacking powerful Taijutsu or Ninjutsu. There were some overly powerful Ninjutsu and Taijutsu that he couldn’t teach now because they couldn’t be used yet.
“Wow, I want to learn that.” Anko’s eyes lit up instantly when she saw Muzuki effortlessly kicking out slashes strong enough to shatter stones. This was much cooler than spitting out small fireballs.
If she learned it and showed off in front of Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki, they would surely be green with envy.
“If you want to learn, come and grab the bells. If you get one, I’ll teach you today.” Muzuki slowly hung the bells on his waist as he spoke.
“Mm-hmm.” Anko nodded excitedly.
“Muzuki-sensei, it looks like there are two bags of dango on the ground behind you, nobody wants them.” Anko’s eyes darted around as she called out to Muzuki, then immediately reached for Muzuki’s waist.
Bang!
Muzuki brought his middle and index fingers together to tap Anko on the head, sending her flying a few meters away.
“Damn it, he didn’t even fall for that!” Anko felt frustrated. Such a big temptation, and he didn’t even look back.
“Generally speaking, dango left on the ground that nobody wants is usually spoiled, isn’t it?” Shizune couldn’t help but retort.
Shizune was a relatively quiet person, but Anko’s flaw was too obvious; she really couldn’t help herself.
“That’s not necessarily true, maybe someone just forgot to take them.” Anko maintained her opposing opinion.
“Flame Breathing, Full Concentration!”
“Fire Release: Great Fireball Barrage!”
Shisui unleashed Flame Breathing to its maximum and then spat two giant fireballs at Muzuki.
Shisui was very clear about Anko’s strength, as he had to defeat Anko in every practical exam. As for Shizune, he was relatively clear about her abilities since they had been training together recently, so Shisui didn’t expect to fight alongside them to grab the bells.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to cooperate with his teammates in battle, but if the strength difference was too great, it was meaningless.
Anko only knew the Three Body Technique and one D-Rank Ninjutsu, a small fireball, while Shizune was a full-time healer, with all her skills focused on healing.
To put it bluntly, Shisui could create a Shadow Clone and deal with both Anko and Shizune together. Was there still a need for cooperation?
Of course, this was only for training. In a real battle, Shizune, as a healer, was still very useful, and Shisui wasn’t so confident that he would never get injured.
“Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!”
Muzuki gathered a large amount of Chakra and spat out a thick water dragon, extinguishing the two incoming fireballs and continuing to rush towards Shisui.
Shisui immediately activated his Sharingan, his eyes rapidly turning blood-red, greatly enhancing his perception.
Although Muzuki’s Water Release used a lot of water, it wasn’t something Shisui could easily block at his current level. Shisui could only hope to counter it by using his most powerful Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet, but that would consume too much Chakra; dodging was more cost-effective.
Whoosh!
As Shisui dodged the Water Dragon Bullet, Muzuki immediately concentrated his breathing, erupted Chakra, appeared in front of Shisui, and pointed a finger.
Bang!
Shisui instantly retreated at high speed, returning to Anko and Shizune’s side in a lying-down posture.
Seeing Shisui also fall so quickly, Anko instantly felt relieved.
Even Shisui, who always defeated her, failed so quickly; it definitely wasn’t because she was too weak, but because the training was too difficult.
