Chapter Index

    Evening, Uchiha Clan Compound.

“Obito, don’t eat so fast, you’ll choke.”

Hearing his Grandma’s words, Obito slowed down his eating and explained:

“Grandma, a friend invited me to play.”

“Which friend? Is it Rin?” Grandma asked with a smile, looking at Obito.

Because Rin Nohara often came to play with Obito, Grandma also knew Rin Nohara.

“Yes, but there are others too,” Obito replied while eating.

The Youth Ninjutsu Competition was starting tomorrow, and he had truly trained hard all day today, which exhausted him.

Perhaps because he and Kakashi would be competitors again tomorrow, Rin Nohara invited them to hang out tonight to relax.

Because Kakashi was also coming, Obito invited Might Guy along as well.

“I’m full.” After finishing his meal, Obito wiped his mouth and rushed out the door.

Grandma followed him to the entrance and said with a chuckle, “Good luck, Obito, I still want to see great-grandchildren.”

Obito nearly tripped and fell to the ground, then turned around, blushing, and shouted, “Grandma, I’m still in school!”

Although he did have some thoughts, he was too young at the moment.

Everyone agreed to meet on a street in the southern part of the Main urban area.

When Obito arrived, he found that the other three had already arrived; he was the last one.

“I ran into an old Grandma who needed help on the way, so I was a little late,” Obito explained.

“You really do encounter Grandmas easily, it’s like this every time,” Kakashi felt this was a bit absurd.

“I don’t know either, but when you see an old Grandma who needs help, you can’t just ignore her, right?” Obito felt a bit wronged, because he really had helped an old Grandma on the way.

“Alright, it’s fine. It must be that Obito is too kind and has eyes that are good at spotting those who need help,” Rin Nohara walked between the two with her hands behind her back, smiling gently.

With this small interlude resolved, the four walked together down the street.

“There are so many people! Kakashi, how about we compete to see who can get through the crowd faster?” Might Guy couldn’t help but ask, looking at the dense crowds on the street.

“I refuse,” Kakashi flatly refused, leaving Might Guy no room for imagination; such a challenge was too foolish.

“There’s an event being held on this street today, so many people have come,” Rin Nohara explained.

Then Rin Nohara led the three to the event area; the entire street was full of vendors, brightly lit, and people in yukata walked together.

“Look, these goldfish are so cute!” Rin Nohara discovered a goldfish scooping stall and smiled, waving to everyone.

“Little sister, want to try? It only costs ten Ryo for one net,” the stall owner enticed.

“Ten Ryo, huh…” Rin Nohara showed a thoughtful expression. Ten Ryo alone wasn’t much, but one net might not be enough; these paper nets broke too easily.

“I’ll try.” Obito volunteered, stepped forward, and handed the owner money for one net.

Obito directly aimed for the most active and beautiful fish, but after two or three attempts, he didn’t catch the fish, and the net broke.

“Again!” Obito wasn’t discouraged and tried again, but still failed.

It wasn’t until the ninth time that Rin Nohara directly stopped Obito, saying, “Let’s just forget it, let’s go explore other places.”

Eighty Ryo was enough to buy a bowl of ramen.

“But I’ve tried so many times already, and I’m more skilled than before. Wouldn’t it be a waste to stop now?” Obito hesitated.

“I’ll play too.” Might Guy, who had never played before, rolled up his sleeves, preparing to use all his strength to catch the fish in one go.

Snap! The stick holding the paper net broke directly.

“Let me do it,” Kakashi said calmly, handed ten Ryo to the owner, and with a casual scoop, caught a goldfish.

“Here you go,” Kakashi handed the packaged fish to Rin Nohara.

Rin Nohara smiled happily, “Thank you, Kakashi.”

Then she added, “And thank you, Obito and Might Guy.”

Obito, who had been making a bitter face, instantly broke into a silly grin.

Next, the four went around playing, throwing Shuriken at targets, identifying shadow clone bodies…

After the streets gradually became less crowded, they prepared to buy some takoyaki and head home.

“Kakashi, just you wait and see tomorrow. This time, first place will definitely be mine!” Obito took a bite of takoyaki, not forgetting to make a bold statement.

“If you want the first-place prize, I can give it to you after I get it.” At this moment, Kakashi had a considerable aggressive edge.

The two exchanging taunts made Might Guy’s blood boil. If there were a Youth Taijutsu Competition, he would definitely invite Kakashi for a good match.

The next day, it was Sunday, so there was no school.

The competition started in the afternoon, and Obito spent the morning on his final training.

The Youth Ninjutsu Competition was held on a commercial street in the Leaf Village Main District.

Obito heard that it was organized by a certain old Ninja shop owner to encourage Ninja Academy students, and later, seeing that it attracted crowds, everyone pooled money to hold it, and it happened every year.

“Obito, which Ninjutsu are you planning to use for this competition?” Rin Nohara asked.

“Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique,” Obito didn’t keep her in suspense and told Rin Nohara directly.

“Aren’t you going to use the Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique you used in the previous practical exam?” Rin Nohara was a bit puzzled.

The last time Obito lost to Kakashi, he used the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, scoring thirty points, a full nine points lower than Kakashi.

“This time is different from last time. Now my Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique is very strong!” Obito showed confidence, believing that his Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique would definitely shock everyone.

“Okay, then I’ll look forward to your performance,” Rin Nohara said with a gentle smile.

“Obito, do your best. As my rival, that man is not so easy to defeat,” Might Guy said with his arms crossed, looking profound.

“Do you want me to leave?” Kakashi, who had been silent, spoke up.

Why were they discussing how to defeat him right in front of him?

“Kakashi, what Ninjutsu are you planning to use?” Rin Nohara immediately asked with a smile.

“I haven’t decided. I’ll just use whatever at the time, maybe Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall,” Kakashi thought for a moment and said.

This wasn’t bragging, as he had mastered quite a few Ninjutsu, and he could indeed use any of them for this kind of competition.

Obito looked around and saw many familiar faces from the Ninja Academy, and even saw two Ninja wearing headbands.

“There are many more people this time than last time,” Obito said, recalling the previous competition.

“Because the prize has increased. This time, the first place not only gets an exquisite silver-plated Kunai but also a prize money of eight thousand Ryo,” Rin Nohara said.

“Eight thousand Ryo!” Obito’s eyes widened, and he was even more determined to win first place.

This was eight thousand Ryo; whether it was for treating Rin to a meal or giving her a gift, it would be easy.

“The competition begins! Please, contestant number one, come to the stage for your performance.”
