Chapter Index

It was the sixth day of knowing Muzuki, and today, Lady Tsunade still woke up at noon as usual.

After finishing the meal Shizune prepared for her, Lady Tsunade subconsciously looked at the clock; the hour hand pointed to twelve, and the minute hand was already halfway there.

“Since he was busy yesterday, maybe he’ll come at twelve today, just like the first time,” Lady Tsunade thought to herself.

Lady Tsunade finished her meal and sat down on the wooden walkway under the eaves, occasionally glancing towards the entrance of the courtyard, checking for any sign of a golden figure.

“How lazy! Learning shouldn’t be delayed; the more you procrastinate, the more it becomes a habit.” Lady Tsunade believed this was the main reason Muzuki’s arrival time was gradually getting later.

“Lady Tsunade, I think you have a point. Why don’t you start waking up in the morning from now on? Lead by example to motivate Teacher Muzuki.” Shizune tried to correct Lady Tsunade’s irregular routine.

“I don’t need to study anymore, so it’s fine to sleep a bit more.” Lady Tsunade stated that waking up early was impossible.

Whether it was because he was still busy or didn’t plan to study for long, Lady Tsunade still didn’t see Muzuki by two in the afternoon.

“Could it be that yesterday’s matters aren’t finished yet?” Lady Tsunade considered a possibility.

This was a very normal and reasonable thing, as this was how the world worked for most adults.

Upon realizing she would only be able to eat restaurant food or Shizune’s cooking again today, Lady Tsunade sighed inwardly.

As her mood worsened, Lady Tsunade suddenly noticed that the sky, which had been bright and sunny, suddenly turned gloomy, oppressive, and overcast.

Large raindrops began to fall, one by one, and the speed increased rapidly.

Accompanying the downpour were flashes of lightning, claps of thunder, and a constant howling wind.

“This cursed weather, it was fine just a moment ago.” Lady Tsunade grumbled, then led Shizune indoors.

Although outside the wind howled and lightning flashed continuously, not to mention the battle-hardened Lady Tsunade, even nine-year-old Shizune was not afraid of thunder. The two quietly went about their respective tasks inside the house.

Shizune looked through documents about Medical Ninjutsu, while a bored Lady Tsunade researched how to improve the Yin Seal.

Lady Tsunade was not one to sit still. After an hour of research, she couldn’t resist teasing Shizune twice, which made her feel a little better.

Lady Tsunade subconsciously glanced at the clock; it was already past three in the afternoon.

“He must still be busy with yesterday’s matters, and with such heavy rain, he probably won’t come today.” Lady Tsunade simply deduced.

If it were her, with such heavy rain, she wouldn’t want to do anything but lie down.

Although as a Ninja, moving in the rain wouldn’t be an issue, Lady Tsunade felt that the atmosphere during heavy rain wasn’t suitable for working; it was only suitable for lying down or playing.

Thinking this, Lady Tsunade’s heart gradually calmed down. It was just not being able to eat food so delicious it felt like a genjutsu, nothing major.

“Shizune, I have an important task for you.” Lady Tsunade said, looking at Shizune with a serious expression.

Shizune, who had never seen Lady Tsunade with such a serious expression, instantly became serious as well, asking cautiously:

“Lady Tsunade, please tell me, I will definitely complete the task!”

“Go and learn all of Muzuki’s cooking, the kind where you can make it exactly the same.” Lady Tsunade said solemnly.

    “I refuse.”

“Shizune, didn’t you just say you would definitely complete the task?”

“This shouldn’t be an important task, and Teacher Muzuki might not teach me how to cook, and even if he did, I might not be able to learn.”

Shizune didn’t believe Muzuki’s cooking could be learned so easily, and her talent in cooking wasn’t outstanding.

“How will you know if you don’t try? Young people need to be brave and try; just ask him directly.” Lady Tsunade patted Shizune’s shoulder, saying with a look of approval, “I have high hopes for you.”

“Lady Tsunade, I’m here. May I come in?” Just as Lady Tsunade and Shizune were chatting, Muzuki’s voice entered the house.

Shizune looked at Lady Tsunade; she really wanted to say ‘please come in,’ but strictly speaking, this wasn’t her home, it was Lady Tsunade’s home, so Shizune didn’t speak.

“Ahem, come in.” Lady Tsunade suppressed her somewhat surprised expression, then said calmly.

Lady Tsunade looked at Muzuki as he entered through the doorway. Although Muzuki had an umbrella, in such a downpour, an umbrella clearly couldn’t fully protect Muzuki. There were traces of rain on Muzuki’s pant legs and back, and his hair was a bit damp.

“Excuse me.” Muzuki placed his umbrella outside, wrung the water from his clothes, changed his shoes, and walked into Lady Tsunade’s house, saying.

“Teacher Muzuki, let me help you wipe off.” Shizune took out a dry towel and said to Muzuki.

“Then I’ll trouble you, Shizune.” Muzuki smiled and crouched down, saying.

He didn’t refuse Shizune’s kindness. He gave Shizune pastries, and Shizune also got a share of the meals, so he had to give Shizune a chance to play her part and repay him.

“Are you finished with what you said you were busy with yesterday?” Lady Tsunade asked, her arms crossed, fully displaying her ample chest.

    “Yes.” Muzuki nodded affirmingly.

“Why did you come when the rain is so heavy?” Lady Tsunade continued to ask.

“After all, yesterday I couldn’t study with Lady Tsunade because of chores, which wasted a lot of time. Not to mention rain, even if it were raining Shuriken, I would still come.” Muzuki said in a joking tone.

Hearing Muzuki’s words, Lady Tsunade laughed, “If it were really raining Shuriken, you’d be soaked to death before you walked much, wouldn’t you?”

Although Ninja were strong, if Shuriken rained down non-stop like rain, they could only be blocked with defensive Ninjutsu; the body simply couldn’t withstand it.

“That’s why I need to learn Medical Ninjutsu from Lady Tsunade even more. Healing while running, maybe it could really work.” Muzuki stood up after Shizune finished wiping him and said.

“Today, I’ll also study for two hours.” Muzuki took out two hundred thousand ryo and handed it to Lady Tsunade, saying.

“Why not study for a bit longer? It’s raining today, and I don’t want to go out, so the time can be extended a bit.” Lady Tsunade thought for a moment and asked.

This was a small compensation from her to Muzuki, as she had often made baseless conjectures about Muzuki these past two days.

“Because I’m almost out of money.” Muzuki said straightforwardly.

“I’m a teacher at the Ninja Academy and generally don’t take on extra missions outside of the school, so I don’t have much money on me right now. After today, I won’t be able to study with Lady Tsunade for a long time; I’ll have to wait until the school pays me a month after classes resume.”

    Lady Tsunade suddenly understood everything.

Why Muzuki came so early the first two days and studied for six hours, and then came later and later with less and less study time.

The reason was money. Muzuki’s price for her was one hundred thousand ryo per hour, a price sufficient for a B-rank mission.

She didn’t know Muzuki’s exact strength, but if Muzuki worked at the Ninja Academy, no matter how strong he was, he wouldn’t earn much money, because the Ninja Academy didn’t pay based on strength, but on position and performance.

Lady Tsunade felt a little guilty. She truly hadn’t thought that the change in Muzuki’s study habits would be due to money, as she had never cared about money, even though she had lost from childhood and always happily continued to send money to the casino.

“After today, I can only study again in a month, which means I won’t be able to eat that kind of food for a month!” Lady Tsunade discovered an extremely serious problem.

She ruffled her hair. It was easy to go from frugality to luxury, but difficult to go from luxury to frugality. It was too hard for her to not eat Muzuki’s cooking for a month because of this trivial matter.
