Chapter Index

Watching Muzuki’s incredibly swift and clean Leaf Whirlwind, Might Guy’s eyes instantly lit up, feeling like he had encountered the Ninjutsu of his dreams, perfectly fulfilling all his fantasies about Taijutsu.

It was simple, fast, powerful, and very cool.

“I love it! Please, you must teach me this when the time comes!” Might Guy expressed his satisfaction with the Leaf Whirlwind with full vigor.

“As long as you like it.” Muzuki nodded with a smile.

Might Guy’s reaction was within his expectations; after all, this Taijutsu was later developed by Might Guy himself, who even created an entire series of techniques like Great Whirlwind, Strong Whirlwind, and various Leaf Whirlwinds—it would be strange if he didn’t like it.

With Muzuki’s assurance, Obito and Might Guy were both very happy, and even the test papers that usually gave them headaches seemed much more pleasing to the eye.

“Watch me go all out! This time, I’ll get more than four right!” Obito excitedly rubbed his hands together, as if he were about to go into battle.

“I must get more than three right, or else I’ll run five hundred laps around Konoha tonight!” Might Guy, determined to learn his dream Ninjutsu, also got serious, directly imposing self-restraint.

He planned to find Kakashi for a spar once he learned this Taijutsu, to see how much his strength had improved.

But the sudden burst of enthusiasm faded just as quickly; after doing a few more problems, Obito understood a truth.

If he were pushed to the limit, he might be able to unleash a larger Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique, or perhaps throw five Shuriken into the bullseye in one go, but when it came to test questions, there was nothing he could do even when desperate.

He propped his head with one hand, while the other continuously twirled his pen in various ways; in his frustration, even the green leaves swaying in the wind seemed displeasing, as if they were mocking him for being unable to solve the problems.

Obito couldn’t help but look at Might Guy beside him.

Although he had been classmates with Might Guy for over three years and shared a common friend in Kakashi, they had never actually hung out together, and their relationship was quite ordinary.

They weren’t strangers, but they couldn’t be called friends either; they were just friends of a friend, who happened to be classmates.

When he thought of Might Guy, his first reaction was ‘dead last’.

Although he himself was called a ‘dead last’, Obito believed he was just weak in certain subjects; his Ninjutsu and Shuriken throwing were decent, it was just his theory that was particularly bad.

It was just that other Uchiha were too outstanding, excelling in every subject, making him, an imperfect Uchiha, seem like a ‘dead last’.

But Might Guy was different; Might Guy was poor in both theory and Ninjutsu, ranking at the bottom in most subjects, and was a recognized ‘dead last’.

Yet, at this moment, Might Guy displayed more patience than him; even though he was scratching his head in frustration, Might Guy was still diligently tackling the difficult problems.

Obito recalled the bold declaration Might Guy made once when he was being mocked.

“I believe that if I keep working hard like this, I will definitely become the strongest Taijutsu Ninja in the future!”

Although Obito was not among those who mocked him, when he heard those words, he was dismissive, not believing that Might Guy could become the so-called strongest Taijutsu user.

But now his thoughts had changed somewhat; whether he could become the strongest Taijutsu Ninja was hard to say, but he should be much stronger than those who mocked Might Guy.

“Becoming friends with him might not be bad,” Obito mumbled, thinking that way they could team up against that annoying Kakashi.

Watching Might Guy continuously work on the problems, Obito also began writing furiously, racking his brain.

Muzuki showed a thoughtful expression as he watched this scene.

He hadn’t expected that these two together could produce such a chemical reaction; even the normally restless Obito was influenced and able to calm down and do his work.

In the future, he could use similar methods to motivate Obito’s training.

After the two were done, Muzuki helped them grade their papers.

Obito got three right, and Might Guy got two right.

“Ugh, still not four, I tried my best.” Obito slumped on the desk, looking completely burnt out.

“Five hundred more laps for tonight’s run.” Might Guy added the penalty for failure to his training plan.

Seeing this, Muzuki comforted them, “You two are actually only five questions away from passing, and you only took an hour to improve by one question. Doesn’t that make it much better when you think about it that way?”

Obito and Might Guy thought about it, and it seemed to make sense; passing and Ninjutsu were within reach!

After comforting them, Muzuki smilingly took out two more test papers.

Obito looked at the brand new test papers on the desk, then thought about the three weekends left before the exam, and his vision went black.

But he could only pick up his pen and continue, because if he gave up now, wouldn’t all the previous papers have been for nothing?

At this moment, Shisui, who had recovered his Chakra, began another round of Fire Release practice, with fire dragons constantly soaring in the sky, attracting Obito’s attention.

“Habsheng-sensei, after we learn your Ninjutsu, will we also be considered your disciples, just like Shisui?” Obito asked after some thought.

“If you wish to be, then yes,” Muzuki replied ambiguously.

“Hehe, since we’ll be disciples sooner or later, why don’t you teach us now, Sensei?” Obito revealed his true intentions, pulling out the dagger after the map was shown.

Muzuki gave him a suspicious look; although this was the result of his careful planning, Obito’s map of Yan was too short.

Obito patted his chest and promised, “Muzuki-sensei, I’m absolutely not trying to avoid studying; it’s just that I think these two things can be done simultaneously.”

After speaking, Obito pulled Might Guy beside him and said:

    “Guy, wouldn’t you agree?”

“Sensei, I think Obito is absolutely right.” Might Guy also wanted to learn Leaf Whirlwind early so he could spar with Kakashi.

“What if you two don’t pass then?” Muzuki didn’t rush to agree, but instead asked back.

“Then, Sensei, whatever you say goes; I’ll listen to you.” Obito was still quite confident about passing.

“Me too.” Might Guy nodded in agreement.

“Is that so…” Muzuki showed a conflicted expression, as if still hesitating about something.

“Muzuki-sensei, please trust me! I’ll definitely study hard with you and won’t let you down.” Obito, seeing a chance, quickly continued.

“Me too.” Might Guy also clenched his fist in assurance.

“Alright then, I’ll trust that you can do what you say. Once you finish this test paper, I’ll teach you Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique and Leaf Whirlwind.” Muzuki looked as if he had been persuaded.

“That’s great! I knew Muzuki-sensei, you’re the best! I definitely won’t let down your trust.” Obito said excitedly.

He felt that today was truly his lucky day; he improved his theoretical scores and also gained a powerful teacher for free—he was making a huge profit.

“Muzuki-sensei, I will definitely train your Taijutsu diligently!” Might Guy said seriously.

He also felt that today was truly fortunate, encountering someone willing to be his teacher and teach him Taijutsu.

“Do you want to establish a master-disciple relationship with Uchiha Obito?”

“Do you want to establish a master-disciple relationship with Might Guy?”

Muzuki smiled contentedly as he looked at the two pop-up windows. “Yes, you two are making a huge profit.”
