Chapter Index

On Saturday afternoon, Muzuki returned to his house in the Main urban area.

As they had shared meals several times, their relationship had become quite close, so Muzuki directly called them over to his place before cooking.

“Habsheng, what are you planning to make today?” Kushina asked curiously.

Several times eating at Muzuki’s house, Kushina had never eaten the same dish twice.

Having many varieties was one thing, but the key was that Muzuki could make them all delicious, which made Kushina both admire and envy him.

“Mushroom soup and stir-fried mushrooms,” Muzuki said, pointing to a plastic bag full of mushrooms next to the sink.

At noon, Shisui and the others had gathered too many ingredients, including various fish and wild vegetables, and they even managed to hunt a wild boar. Muzuki brought the leftover ingredients home.

Setting other things aside, wild mushrooms were indeed fresh, but they absolutely had to be cooked thoroughly, otherwise, food poisoning would be a serious problem. Diarrhea was a minor issue; ending up in a coffin was not impossible.

“These aren’t wild mushrooms picked from the forest, are they?” Kushina looked at the mushrooms, which varied in size and type, and didn’t seem like they were bought.

This reminded her of her first time eating at Muzuki’s house, when she teased him about whether he had added some strangely colored mushrooms, making her see illusions.

If there really were such mushrooms inside, coupled with Muzuki’s cooking skills, wouldn’t eating them be like falling under a Genjutsu?

Muzuki nodded and said, “This afternoon, I had a picnic in the forest with some students. We gathered too many ingredients and didn’t finish them, so I brought the extra ones home.”

“Habsheng, you even take students on picnics?” Kushina asked with a hint of envy.

She had attended Ninja Academy for six whole years and had never seen any teacher so kind as to take students on a picnic.

“Those students and I have a good relationship,” Muzuki explained.

“Habsheng, do you need help? I can wash the vegetables,” Minato, feeling awkward about freeloading, offered to help.

“Then Namikaze, please help me wash the mushrooms. I’ll process the wild boar meat first,” Muzuki didn’t stand on ceremony and directly assigned Minato a task.

Being too polite all the time is not conducive to the growth of friendship.

Feelings, these things, can only be improved with give and take.

Because there were three people eating, in addition to mushroom soup and stir-fried mushrooms, Muzuki also planned to make a dish of braised pork with preserved vegetables.

In his previous life, he didn’t know why he would feel nauseous whenever he ate fatty meat, but he could accept the fatty meat in braised pork, and even thought that braised pork with a good mix of lean and fat was more delicious. Braised pork with preserved vegetables was a dish he particularly liked.

However, there were no preserved vegetables available at the moment, so he could only make braised pork, not braised pork with preserved vegetables.

“What about me? What should I do?” Looking at the backs of Minato and Muzuki, Kushina scratched her head. Why did it feel like they were two brothers, close and cooking together, while she was an outsider?

“There’s no more space here. You can just sit down and wait to eat,” Muzuki replied.

This wasn’t a restaurant kitchen; three people operating together would only get in each other’s way. Two was just right, and there wasn’t much else that needed help.

So, bored, Kushina sat down on the living room sofa. She casually picked up a book placed on the low table.

“Oh.” Kushina was a little surprised to see the title on the cover; it was a book about Sealing Technique.

“‘What is Sealing Technique?’ Habsheng, why are you reading this kind of book? Just by the name, it’s no good. It’s not as good as…”

Kushina paused, because she had turned the page and saw the words ‘Written by Uzumaki Ashina’.

“Cough, cough, this book is actually quite good, Muzuki, you should read it carefully,” Kushina coughed twice and reorganized her words.

“Hmm, I’ve already read it several times. Lord Uzumaki Ashina truly lives up to his reputation as Konoha’s progenitor of Sealing Technique.

Even someone like me, who knows nothing about Sealing Technique, can gain a lot from reading it,” Muzuki replied while processing the pork.

“Of course, he is the leader of our Uzumaki Clan!” Kushina said with a proud expression.

“But Muzuki, are you also interested in Sealing Technique?” Kushina asked curiously.

“Very interested. I feel Sealing Technique is very mysterious and powerful,” Muzuki said with a look of longing.

“From the perspective of improving strength, Sealing Technique is indeed a good choice,” Minato nodded and said.

The three continued discussing Sealing Technique until the food was ready.

Muzuki mostly listened, occasionally offering some rookie opinions, which gave Minato and Kushina a greater sense of accomplishment.

Kushina first tried the braised pork, which she had never eaten before. The first bite was incredible; its soft, glutinous, and non-greasy texture immediately made Kushina scoop up a large mouthful of rice.

“This is too delicious! Why have I never seen such a delicious dish before?” Kushina immediately fell in love with the taste of the braised pork.

“If you want to learn, I can teach you,” Muzuki said with a smile.

“It’s a deal! Tomorrow night, Minato and I will buy the ingredients for you,” Kushina quickly nodded and said.

After saying that, Kushina glanced at the plate of stir-fried mushrooms and found that more than half of it was already gone. Minato had been continuously eating while they were discussing the cooking lesson.

“I haven’t even eaten yet, Minato, leave some for me!” Kushina didn’t care about anything else and quickly started eating as well.

The first bite also successfully amazed Kushina; it was simply too fresh.

After eating their fill, the three of them went out for a stroll together.

During their stroll, they naturally chatted. Muzuki shared some interesting anecdotes from his teaching, while Minato and Kushina recounted some strange and unusual stories from their missions.

With two days left until the competition, Muzuki began Obito’s final training.

“To make Ninjutsu appear more imposing, in addition to Nature Transformation and Chakra volume, you can also make it look more impressive through Shape Transformation,” Muzuki said.

“But there are only two days left. Is there still time to practice Shape Transformation?” Obito scratched his head and said.

“Of course not,” Muzuki said directly. Obito didn’t have strong talent in Ninjutsu.

“However, you don’t need to master Shape Transformation. You just need to master the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique that I’ve improved.”

In order to help Obito win first place and maximize the training mission rewards, Muzuki had truly put in a lot of effort.

He had specifically modified the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique to make it appear larger, but in reality, it didn’t contain that much flame, and its power remained unchanged.

In short, it was designed to be intimidating in appearance.

Anyway, the Youth Ninjutsu Competition wasn’t a battle; each person just performed one Ninjutsu, and whoever got the highest score won.

“Muzuki-sensei, you are truly my Six Paths Sage!” Obito instantly felt that first place was absolutely secure upon hearing Muzuki’s words.

Against himself, who was being taught by Muzuki-sensei, Kakashi stood no chance!

“After all, you said something like ‘a request for a lifetime,’ so as your teacher, I naturally have to give my all,” Muzuki said with a chuckle, intentionally cultivating Obito’s awareness of seeking help from his teacher.

“Hehe,” Obito showed an embarrassed smile.

“Hurry up and train,” Muzuki tapped Obito’s head.

    “Yes!” Obito immediately began training.

He was already eager to defeat Kakashi in front of Rin Nohara and take first place.
