Chapter Index

On Sunday morning, Muzuki went to the South Border Forest as usual, preparing to start a new round of teaching.

However, he didn’t immediately start teaching Breathing Technique; instead, he first had Might Guy and Obito complete today’s running competition.

He had used Appraisal Technique yesterday to check Obito’s progress with the move, and he was close to mastering it. With a bit more effort today, he should be able to do it.

“Today, we’ll make a small change to the rules. The winner’s exemption will be added to the loser’s burden,” Muzuki said with a smile.

“Ah? Doesn’t that mean the loser might have to do up to eighty questions?” Obito was already a bit flustered.

According to Muzuki’s new rule, if the winner was completely exempt from questions and the loser failed to break their limit, they would receive eighty questions.

He had won before, but he lost more than he won. With this rule change, the number of questions would be super-doubled.

Hearing Muzuki’s words, even Might Guy’s forehead broke out in a fine sweat. He won often, but there were times when he lost.

“This is a special Sunday event. After today, the rules will be the same as before,” Muzuki explained.

Obito and Might Guy both breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, it was only for one day. If it were like this all the time, the pressure would be too great.

Although they had once endured days of over a hundred questions in combat, those hard times had passed for a while, and they had buried them deep in their memories, unwilling to touch them.

“Why is there this special event today? Is today some special day?” Obito asked, confused.

“Because today is the 111th anniversary of me becoming a teacher,” Muzuki replied.

Although it was a perfunctory answer, it was indeed his 111th day as a teacher, and also his 111th day since transmigrating to the Hokage world.

“Alright, prepare to start the competition,” Muzuki said.

Obito and Might Guy quickly completed their warm-up and stood at the starting point designated by Muzuki.

“Obito, you can do it!” Rin Nohara, who was training nearby, cheered for Obito with a smile.

“I won against Guy in the practical test; there won’t be any surprises in this competition either,” Obito said with a confident smile.

“Eighty questions, and Rin is watching! I absolutely cannot lose this time!” Obito thought to himself.

    “Ready, go!”

    Whoosh!

As soon as Muzuki finished speaking, Obito directly burst forth with Chakra, charging out fiercely with a super-start.

With the pressure of eighty questions, Might Guy was also full of motivation, similarly using the move directly for a super-start.

Sensing the increasingly loud running sounds, Obito felt a growing urgency. He gritted his teeth and ran, ignoring the fatigue in his leg muscles to use the move again.

But Might Guy would not admit defeat in a battle of wills. Seeing Obito start to accelerate, Might Guy also mustered his strength and began to accelerate, chasing after Obito’s back at high speed.

His physique was stronger than Obito’s, and he had already mastered the move, so as long as he got close to Obito, Obito would basically lose.

As they got closer to the finish line, the distance between Might Guy and Obito also narrowed.

    Whoosh!

Seeing that he was already close to the finish line, Might Guy directly activated sprint mode, his figure disappearing from his original spot, advancing a great distance in an instant.

Obito also began to sprint, charging towards the finish line with his still-not-fully-mastered move.

The two were getting closer and closer. Obito’s peripheral vision could already see a rapidly moving green blur, which was Might Guy in his tight-fitting suit.

“Oh no!” Obito suddenly felt a bad premonition. He knew that Might Guy must have made some progress again this time.

“I absolutely cannot lose!” Obito poured all his strength into his legs, running with all his might.

    “Move!”

Both of them used the move simultaneously, their bodies disappearing from their original spots.

“Who won?” Rin Nohara only felt their figures suddenly blur, and then the next moment they both appeared at the finish line together.

“Obito wins. Guy, seventy questions,” Muzuki announced the result.

During the final sprint just now, Obito had completely learned the move, mastering the technique of three-time stacking, and won the race by virtue of his slightly closer starting position.

“Huff, huff, huff.” Obito collapsed directly onto the ground, panting heavily. He felt a burning sensation in his chest, and even his breaths were hot.

Although he was very tired, Obito was very happy. This meant doing eighty fewer questions, which was equivalent to him losing two fewer times, and he had won in front of Rin Nohara.

Thinking that Rin Nohara was present, even if his legs were tired, Obito shakily stood up.

“Obito, do you want to rest a bit more?” Rin Nohara asked with concern.

“It’s nothing, it’s just a short run, no big deal,” Obito said, trying to keep his legs from trembling, feigning ease.

“Oh, so the distance was a bit short. Then let’s double it tomorrow,” Muzuki said with a sudden realization and a smile.

    Obito:…

“So Obito, you still have energy left. Let’s run again together; I feel like I still have room for improvement,” Might Guy temporarily suppressed his fear of the questions and said enthusiastically.

Aside from having to do questions, Might Guy really enjoyed such competitions. Although he lost just now, he did make progress.

Obito didn’t know whether Might Guy was undermining him or genuinely wanted to run with him again.

“Actually, I was using a literary writing technique just now; you misunderstood my meaning,” Obito tried to gloss over it.

Rin Nohara poked Obito’s thigh with her finger, and Obito’s thigh uncontrollably trembled.

“Obito, don’t push yourself. You’re shaking like this. If we doubled the distance again, wouldn’t you be too tired to get up?” Rin Nohara sighed.

Obito felt a wave of exhaustion, a feeling of wanting everything to be destroyed, that he was tired.

He just wanted to simply show off in front of Rin Nohara, why was it so difficult?

“Alright, rest up and prepare to learn new Ninjutsu. This time, I’m going to teach you a highly difficult secret technique, which you must learn seriously,” Muzuki said.

“A highly difficult secret technique? So it must be very powerful,” Obito’s spirits immediately lifted. Generally, the more difficult a Ninjutsu, the more powerful it was.

“Yes, it’s very difficult to learn, but if you master it, it can greatly enhance your strength,” Muzuki nodded.

After the Breathing Technique was localized, it had immense power, and at the same time, its difficulty was also maxed out. If classified according to Hokage’s grading, his two existing Breathing Techniques were both S-rank forbidden Ninjutsu.

Especially Rock Breathing, it was extremely difficult to train, similar to Eight Gates, something that could only be achieved through diligent, head-down practice.

“Teacher, do I learn it too? I’m a bit slow at learning Ninjutsu,” Might Guy asked, scratching his head.

His Ninjutsu talent was a bit poor; even learning Three Body Technique was difficult for him.

“Yes, you will learn, but what you learn will be different from theirs. Just believe that you can learn it,” Muzuki replied.

Once the two had rested, Muzuki called Shisui over, preparing to begin teaching the Breathing Technique.

I’ve created a reader group; everyone can join. I’ll often lurk in the group to find inspiration.
