Chapter 354: Exchanging Disciples
by Sunflower“How boring. I’m not coming next time.” Obito decided not to waste time attending the Uchiha Clan meeting after leaving the shrine.
He felt that the clan meeting was a place where a bunch of self-important adults entertained themselves, and if you said something unpleasant, they would immediately dismiss it.
“You can come, but you don’t need to use your main body. You can send a Shadow Clone to listen,” Shisui offered his suggestion.
“Most Uchiha Ninja attend clan meetings. You can understand the clan’s situation by listening to the discussion content.”
Although he had just been rejected by many Uchiha, Shisui would still attend if he had the opportunity to participate in a clan meeting.
History is, after all, a thing of the past. To truly solve the current problems of the Uchiha, one must understand the current Uchiha better.
However, this clan meeting made Shisui understand a truth: within the Uchiha Clan, the weak have no right to speak, even if they are geniuses.
Geniuses do enjoy privileges, but this privilege does not include participating in major Uchiha decisions.
That’s why Shisui said to just send a Shadow Clone to listen; as long as they don’t become strong, what they say won’t be recognized.
“If I use a Shadow Clone, I estimate the Shadow Clone will fight with me. They won’t do something like receiving garbage information.” Obito had enough self-awareness regarding his Shadow Clones.
He had figured it out: if he didn’t want to do something, his Shadow Clones most likely wouldn’t want to do it either.
“Your Shadow Clones really have character,” Shisui tried to say something a bit more pleasant.
Obito scratched his head and chuckled. Fortunately, his Shadow Clones wouldn’t mess up at critical moments, otherwise, he would really want to find another clone Ninjutsu to practice.
After chatting for a while, the two parted ways at the intersection.
Upon returning home, Shisui began to cultivate. He desperately needed to improve his strength now; he was no longer the first among Muzuki’s disciples, and he had no say in the clan meeting.
“After the internship, I’ll graduate directly. Staying in school is too slow for improvement,” Shisui thought to himself.
He had told Muzuki before that he wanted to participate in an internship in his second year, but at that time, Shisui hadn’t decided whether to graduate.
Now, seeing Kakashi and Might Guy’s strength soar, plus needing stronger power to solve clan issues, Shisui felt he couldn’t stay in school any longer.
After parting with Shisui, Obito didn’t go home immediately. Since he left early, it wasn’t time for Obito to sleep yet, and practicing at home would disturb his grandma’s sleep, so Obito found a secluded grove to start his cultivation.
Obito had no particular feelings about this clan meeting. Although he was a member of the Uchiha Clan, the only people he was close to in the Uchiha Clan, besides his grandma, were Shisui. He wasn’t very familiar with the others. Obito just felt that those people’s behavior was a bit excessive, denying Shisui without even listening to him properly.
The next day, Obito went to the South Border Forest as usual to cultivate. Today, he didn’t start cultivating immediately but instead explained his grandma’s situation.
“How can I get grandma to agree to go to the hospital?” Obito looked at Muzuki with a pleading gaze.
“Just tell her that the hospital has a recent event, free medical check-ups, no need to spend money,” Muzuki thought for a moment and replied.
The reasons old people are unwilling to go to the hospital are usually a few: either they think there’s nothing wrong with their body, or they don’t want to spend the money. But if they can get it for free, they usually will be happy to go.
“You can also add that the first fifty people can get eggs,” Muzuki added.
“Will grandma go if I say that?” Obito scratched his head, not quite understanding the mystery, as in his eyes, a check-up didn’t cost much, and eggs were very cheap.
“Try it first. If this doesn’t work, I’ll help you think of another way,” Muzuki nodded and said.
If even freebies couldn’t attract her, Muzuki would have to ask Lady Tsunade for help to take a look. When you have resources nearby, you should use them.
“Okay.” Obito wrote down what Muzuki said and then ran home to try it.
Obito, rushing home, happened to run into Shizune, who was walking by. However, since they weren’t very familiar and Obito was in a hurry, he didn’t greet her.
“So fast, was that Obito?” Shizune barely recognized Obito by his features.
“Why is Obito here, and Muzuki-sensei’s training spot is so remote…” Shizune couldn’t help but complain as she looked at the tall trees all around her.
Shizune walked around for a while before finally being discovered by a Shadow Clone and led to Muzuki’s main body.
Shizune had thought there would only be Muzuki here, but not only were there several Muzukis, she also saw Kakashi and Shisui.
Shizune knew Kakashi and Shisui fairly well. Kakashi entered the academy at the same time as her, but Kakashi graduated before finishing his first year, while she studied until Fourth Grade before graduating. As for Shisui, Shizune was in Class A with him during the first special training session.
This kind of acquaintance basically meant they knew each other’s names, so Shizune didn’t rashly disturb them; she just looked at Muzuki.
“What is your Chakra nature?” Muzuki asked.
Now, his visible strength was already considerable, and the things he previously needed to conceal were no longer necessary, so he directly brought Shizune to train together.
“Chakra nature, huh? I don’t think I’ve ever had it tested. Lady Tsunade said I’d be learning Medical Ninjutsu from her anyway,” Shizune recalled and said.
Because of Tsunade, her situation was a bit special. Unlike normal people who are assigned to teams, she graduated and went directly with Tsunade, without teammates.
Although Tsunade also knew other Ninjutsu, they were far inferior to her Medical Ninjutsu. Tsunade would definitely teach her disciple the skills she was best and strongest at. Yang Release and Yin Release couldn’t be tested with Chakra paper, so Shizune hadn’t used Chakra paper yet.
“Let’s test it now.” Muzuki, who had anticipated this, took out a piece of Chakra paper and handed it to Shizune.
After all, Tsunade was in a slacker state, somewhat unreliable. Muzuki had used Appraisal on Shizune and saw that she had basically only learned Medical Ninjutsu, so this was within his expectations.
“Thank you.” Shizune took the paper, thanked Muzuki, and then gathered Chakra and injected it into the paper.
After the Chakra was injected, the Chakra paper quickly wrinkled.
“Lightning Release…” Muzuki showed a thoughtful expression.
It seemed a bit unsuitable for Shizune to learn Thunder Breathing, because although Thunder Breathing could enhance Lightning Release, that was only one of its effects, and it needed to be cultivated to the mastery level to maximize this effect. Before mastery, the amplification of Lightning Release was only average, but it was too difficult to train a Breathing Technique to mastery; most people couldn’t do it at all.
The characteristic of Thunder Breathing was powerful burst, but the original Shizune did not show talent in that aspect.
“Learn to adjust your breathing by mimicking my posture.” Muzuki finally decided to teach Shizune Basic Breathing first.
Basic Breathing could also increase training effectiveness, just without the special effects of other Breathing Techniques. Learning Basic Breathing well would make it easier to learn other Breathing Techniques.
Although she was learning content she had never heard of before, out of trust in Muzuki, Shizune was very diligently learning.
Muzuki roughly set out Shizune’s upcoming learning content: getting started with Basic Breathing, then refining Mystical Palm Technique, and learning Super Strength and Chakra Scalpel.
Due to constantly learning from Tsunade, Shizune’s Medical Ninjutsu knowledge was very solid. Muzuki only needed to teach her specific Medical Ninjutsu.
When Shisui finished his cultivation and rested, he found Muzuki and told him about what happened at the clan meeting yesterday and his desire to graduate early.
“Muzuki-sensei, do you think there’s a problem with this?” Shisui looked at Muzuki.
He believed that Muzuki could make better and more correct choices, so even though he had decided to graduate early yesterday, he still wanted to ask Muzuki again.
“Graduating early certainly carries risks. Life always presents various unexpected situations. However, with your current strength, I don’t think there’s a problem with you graduating,” Muzuki approved of Shisui’s idea.
Shisui’s current strength already surpassed a large number of Chunin. Even with this strength, accidents could still happen after graduation, but relatively speaking, it was very safe.
As for absolute safety, even Muzuki couldn’t guarantee his own absolute safety now, let alone his disciples.
Shisui smiled. Muzuki’s affirmation reassured him.
“Oh, and Muzuki-sensei, my Armament Haki seems to have made some progress,” Shisui then spoke of his recent training achievements.
Shisui concentrated Chakra on his fist, imagining an invisible armor protecting his fist, then punched the ground. He tried several punches in a row, and two of them were noticeably more powerful.
“I still can’t use it stably, but I’ve gotten a feel for it,” Shisui said, retracting his fist.
Muzuki used Appraisal to look at Shisui. His Armament Haki proficiency had already reached seventy points.
He calculated the time. Shisui had been learning Armament Haki for over half a year now, so this progress was about right.
“No need to rush. You’re not far from mastering it. Barring any accidents, you should be able to grasp it after graduation,” Muzuki estimated.
Compared to Shisui, the progress of others was significantly slower. On one hand, Armament Haki itself was quite difficult, and on the other hand, the other disciples didn’t have much time to practice Armament Haki.
For example, Kakashi was currently refining his Breathing Technique and getting familiar with Transparent World, while Obito was perfecting Flame Breathing Chakra Mode. Might Guy was making progress with both Eight Gates and Breathing Technique, and Rin Nohara hadn’t learned it at all.
It’s not that Armament Haki isn’t important, but at the current stage of strength for Obito and the others, Haki isn’t as helpful to them as what they’re learning now. Their Chakra is even a bit insufficient.
Of course, learning it is still useful and can help them deal with more situations, but at this stage, it’s not worth investing a lot of time into Armament Haki.
“As expected of Muzuki-sensei!” After the morning passed, Obito returned to the South Border Forest and gave Muzuki a thumbs-up.
Muzuki roughly guessed the result from Obito’s expression.
“Grandma really was sick! Good thing we went early, and it wasn’t a serious illness,” Obito said with a relieved expression.
“Elderly people have weaker resistance, so pay more attention to her health normally,” Muzuki reminded him, then showed a thoughtful expression.
He was wondering if Madara Uchiha would use Obito’s grandma to provoke Obito into darkness.
If Obito could display trust levels with others, Muzuki believed that Obito’s grandma and Rin Nohara would definitely have a trust level of four. As for Kakashi, it’s a bit hard to say; it’s possible, but not certain.
If Obito’s grandma was cruelly designed to die in front of Obito, Muzuki believed Obito would immediately activate his Mangekyo Sharingan, but as long as he and Rin Nohara were safe, Muzuki thought Obito would most likely not turn dark, though his personality might change.
But if Rin Nohara and Obito’s grandma both died tragically, Muzuki couldn’t say.
“I’ll arrange a Shadow Clone to watch over her.”
Muzuki decided to send a Shadow Clone to protect Obito’s grandma.
“Alright, as soon as grandma’s health deteriorates, I’ll use your method, Muzuki-sensei, to take her to the hospital.” After saying that, Obito immediately ran off to cultivate.
Just thinking that Kakashi had trained for a whole morning longer than him made Obito uncomfortable. He trained half a day less, and Kakashi trained half a day more, which meant he and Kakashi had a full day’s difference.
Watching his disciples train diligently, Muzuki also began to delve into Flying Thunder God.
Flying Thunder God wouldn’t bring a qualitative change to Muzuki’s strength, but it was truly convenient, in every sense of the word.
To learn Flying Thunder God, Muzuki even used the Shadow Clone learning method, exerting his utmost effort to master it.
However, the effect was still poor; after two days, there was still no proficiency gained.
“Everyone is working so hard, no wonder they’re all so strong.” Shizune, tired from practicing Breathing Technique, took a breath and noticed that Obito and the others were really training with high intensity, unable to stop.
This kind of training environment was a bit new to Shizune, as she usually trained alone with Tsunade, with no other peers around.
Now, seeing people her age or even younger working so hard, Shizune felt a sense of guilt if she stopped.
Shizune practiced Breathing Technique and taijutsu for most of the day. The rest of the time was dedicated to learning Medical Ninjutsu.
Actually, when learning Medical Ninjutsu, Shizune was already exhausted from the previous training. She was worried she wouldn’t be able to absorb anything, but to her surprise, the effect was quite good, and Shizune felt she gained a lot.
“Muzuki-sensei really teaches better than Lady Tsunade,” Shizune compared the two based on her memories.
Although Shizune respected and liked Tsunade very much, she had to admit that Muzuki was indeed stronger in teaching, even when it came to Medical Ninjutsu.
Shizune even had a misconception that she seemed smarter and could understand and focus on the content more easily when learning with Muzuki than usual.
“Lady Tsunade will definitely be shocked in half a year,” Shizune looked forward to Tsunade’s expression when she checked her progress in half a year.
After all, Tsunade often bullied her, so it shouldn’t be a problem if she did this once in a while.
On the other side, Rin Nohara, who was learning from Tsunade, also felt the true value of Tsunade as the strongest Medical Ninja.
It was as if there was no medical knowledge she didn’t know. No matter what questions Rin Nohara had, she could immediately answer them with a relaxed expression.
However, Rin Nohara also came to realize another side of Tsunade.
“Lady Tsunade, it’s time to wake up.” Rin Nohara looked helplessly at Tsunade, who was lying corpse-like from a hangover.
As one of the Sannin renowned throughout the Ninja World, Tsunade actually didn’t get up in the morning!
There will be another chapter, but it will be very late, possibly coming out at 2 AM. I recommend reading it tomorrow.
