Chapter Index

Sanchuan-cho is located in the western region of the Land of Rivers. As Muzuki led his disciples there, he could clearly feel that the vegetation was much sparser, and the forests common in the Land of Fire were rare here.

“The scenery here is quite unusual,” Obito said with interest.

He was tired of the lush green landscapes everywhere in the Land of Fire, so this part of the northern Land of Rivers felt somewhat new to him.

“If we go a little further west, we can even see a desert, but we have to complete the mission first,” Muzuki said with a smile.

Not living in the desert, but simply going to see it for the purpose of sightseeing was still very nice.

“Great, finish the mission and go sightsee!” Obito was a bit excited.

“It would be great if I had a camera; I could take pictures to show Rin,” Obito suddenly thought of Rin Nohara, who was far away in Konoha.

Obito only wished he could do A-Rank Missions every day, but he didn’t have enough money, and cameras weren’t cheap.

Although he had earned some money from missions since his internship, he and his other disciples were planning to buy a gift for Teacher Muzuki, and he had also given a lot of money to his grandmother, so he didn’t have much left that he could freely spend.

Then Muzuki took them to find the client in Sanchuan-cho to get detailed information.

The client was a middle-aged man who looked to be in his forties, but from the client’s words, Muzuki knew that this was also a commissioned mission funded by a collection, with the main participants being residents of Sanchuan-cho and some nearby Village residents.

“These bandits have been plundering our Town and the area around Siya Mountain frequently in the past few months, but their movements are strange. The last time we invited samurai, they couldn’t find them and returned empty-handed,” the middle-aged client sighed.

“Don’t worry, Uncle, we Ninja are much more powerful than samurai. Dealing with these bandits is easy,” Obito said immediately after listening.

The middle-aged man carefully scrutinized Obito, shaking his head inwardly. He looked naive and unreliable, just like an ordinary child.

The middle-aged man felt that besides the adult Muzuki, only the child wearing a mask and not speaking looked presentable.

“We will deal with it very quickly,” Muzuki said with a smile.

A group of bandits was nothing in Muzuki’s eyes. No matter how well they hid, could they escape his Byakugan?

“Then we’ll trouble you, Ninja sirs. Please resolve it as soon as possible. We’re okay here, but the Villages near Siya Mountain are living in fear every day,” the middle-aged man bowed.

Following the middle-aged man’s instructions, Muzuki and the others went to Siya Mountain, not far from Sanchuan-cho.

Siya Mountain was a bit higher than the mountain they had visited in Kawakita Town last time, and it looked more treacherous.

However, for Ninja like Muzuki, no matter how treacherous the mountain, it couldn’t stop their advance, as they could use Chakra to run on walls and ceilings.

Upon reaching the mountain, Muzuki and the others did find some signs of life, but they didn’t see a single person.

“Could it be that those bandits just happened to go plundering elsewhere today?” Might Guy looked left and right, not seeing anyone, feeling a bit confused.

“There are indeed people, but they’re all hidden,” Muzuki said, shaking his head.

These bandits did have something going for them; they seemed to have received news in advance and had dispersed and hidden themselves.

If they had encountered ordinary Ninja without Nin-Beasts or means of finding people, they might have truly gotten away with it.

Unfortunately, they were unlucky and ran into Muzuki. Muzuki hadn’t turned off his Byakugan; he simply hadn’t turned it on, and he had been using it to observe the entire way up the mountain.

“Something’s not right. Why were they so quick?” Kakashi noticed a hint of something amiss. If they had hidden in a hurry, there should have been traces along the way.

“I’ve found some people. Let’s capture them and ask them,” Muzuki said.

Following that, Muzuki led his disciples to find the bandits he had discovered.

Some bandits saw Obito and Kakashi looking like children and tried to hold them hostage to threaten Muzuki, some had their front teeth kicked out by Might Guy, and some screamed as Obito burned them.

“Who is your leader, and where are the others hidden?” Muzuki asked with a cold expression.

The bandits exchanged glances but remained silent.

“If you don’t speak, I’ll feed you fireballs,” Obito threatened, flames igniting in his hand.

“Let’s interrogate them separately. Someone is bound to not want to die,” Muzuki said with a slight smile.

Then Muzuki divided the bandits into six groups for separate interrogation. His three disciples each interrogated one, while Muzuki created two Shadow Clones to interrogate three.

“We will not betray our brothers,” a bandit refused to cooperate when faced with Muzuki’s questions.

At this moment, Muzuki’s Shadow Clone walked over and said, “The person on my side has confessed. There are also some bandits hidden in a secret passage in the cave and…”

The bandit, who had originally been resolute, instantly froze because he knew there truly were people hidden there. So the bandit quickly said,

“I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you everything, just spare my life! There are four hidden in the cave’s secret passage, and also…”

The bandit was afraid that if he spoke too slowly, he would lose his usefulness, so he blurted out all the hiding places he knew in one breath.

Muzuki’s expression remained unchanged; it was all an act. The person on his side hadn’t even been interrogated. That location was one Muzuki had discovered but hadn’t acted on, waiting for this moment.

“Others have already said these things. If this is all you have, you can die,” Muzuki pulled out a Kunai and stepped forward, thrusting it towards the bandit’s neck.

“Sir, don’t move! I have more information! Some villagers are cooperating with us to pass messages, allowing us to accurately rob and avoid encirclement,” the bandit, seeing the sharp Kunai, panicked and quickly thought, then spoke.

Muzuki’s movements stopped. He wasn’t too surprised by this answer. Not to mention cooperating with bandits, it’s quite normal for an entire Village to turn into bandits during difficult times.

However, Muzuki didn’t immediately believe him. He used the same method on the remaining bandits and ultimately concluded that the bandit he had first interrogated had indeed not lied.

After capturing all the bandits, Muzuki interrogated them separately, making them accuse each other of crimes. If the crime was light enough and they reported effectively, they could be spared death. Ultimately, Muzuki killed most of the bandits and took the remaining ones to capture the people in nearby Villages who had cooperated with the bandits, delivering them all to the client.

“That’s the situation. How you deal with them is up to your own discretion,” Muzuki said to the client.

“Thank you so much!” The client thanked him joyfully. He hadn’t expected Muzuki and the others to be so swift, resolving the troublesome bandits in just one day.

“These bandits are truly hateful! They have hands and feet, but instead of working, they go robbing and harming people,” Obito said indignantly as they walked out of Sanchuan-cho.

Watching Muzuki interrogate the bandits about their crimes had made him furious; some people not only robbed money but also harmed people.

“Yes, it’s infuriating to hear,” the hot-blooded Might Guy also felt extremely angry after hearing so many dark topics.

Kakashi remained silent. He had also done missions to subdue bandits before, but he had always just found them and killed them all directly, so he hadn’t been as angry as he was today.

“Since you’re angry, then you should train even harder in the future. Making the world a better place requires strong power,” Muzuki said, looking up at the sky.

Then, as Muzuki had said before, he led his disciples west, reaching a desert of yellow sand.

Obito looked out, and all he saw was golden sand, not even a single tree. Besides the yellow of the ground and the blue of the sky, there were no other colors.

“How amazing, that there can be so much sand,” Obito exclaimed, his anger somewhat soothed by nature.

Then Obito curiously put his hand into the sand, finding it surprisingly hot, so he pulled Might Guy and Kakashi to burn their hands as well.

Just as Muzuki was wondering whether to have his students train nearby for a few days before returning, he suddenly noticed a yellow mist rising in the desert. Someone was running quickly.

Muzuki immediately activated his Byakugan to observe, but after seeing who it was, Muzuki was a bit surprised. Obito’s mouth truly had something to it; the Raikage really came, but it was the future Raikage.
