Chapter Index

After returning to Konoha, Muzuki first took his disciples back to the Hokage Building to turn in the mission.

“There was an unexpected incident during this mission; we encountered three Cloud Ninja,” Muzuki told the Registration Ninja.

The last time he went directly to Hiruzen Sarutobi was because the matter involved was quite significant, but this time it was just three Chunin, with no Jonin among them, so there was no need to bother Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Hokage.

“Another unexpected incident?” the Registration Ninja asked, surprised.

He remembered that not long ago, Muzuki and his team had an unexpected incident during a C-Rank Mission, which directly escalated it to an A-Rank Mission. Now, another unexpected incident had occurred. What kind of bad luck was this?

They had only done two C-Rank Missions in total, and both had unexpected incidents. He found it hard to comment.

Muzuki handed the scroll containing the sealed Cloud Ninja to the Registration Ninja and briefly explained the strength of the Ninja they encountered.

“Let’s classify it as a B-Rank Mission for now. I’ll send these bodies for examination,” the Registration Ninja said after some thought.

“As for the reward, we can only disburse the commission that comes with the mission itself for now. The additional reward will be calculated and issued after the examination is complete.”

Muzuki nodded without objection. In truth, he didn’t care much about money; the secret medicines in the system’s store weren’t expensive.

Ever since the cultivation secret medicine became available for purchase, Muzuki’s disciples each consumed a cultivation secret medicine every half-month.

“See, we can easily complete A-Rank Missions and B-Rank Missions now. From now on, let us take on missions above C-Rank too,” Obito chatted with the Registration Ninja.

“I think you want me to lose my job,” the Registration Ninja said, exasperated.

“You, an Intern Ninja who isn’t even a Genin yet, doing C-Rank Missions is already a special privilege granted by Lord Sandaime. Other interns can only do D-Rank missions. Don’t even think about higher-ranked missions,” the Registration Ninja stated mercilessly.

Rules are rules. Even if Muzuki’s class truly had the strength to complete B-Rank Missions, he couldn’t possibly assign them B-Rank Missions. If they succeeded, he wouldn’t get any credit, but if something went wrong, it would be his responsibility.

    Slap!

Muzuki apologized to the Registration Ninja, then tapped Obito on the head and said:

“Don’t cause trouble for others. Doing C-Rank Missions is good too. So far, we haven’t even completed a single C-Rank Mission, so don’t waste the opportunity Lord Sandaime has given us.”

Kakashi was speechless. They indeed hadn’t completed a single C-Rank Mission, because one had turned into an A-Rank and the other into a B-Rank.

Obito and Might Guy were probably the only two who had a record of completing an A-Rank Mission before graduating. It’s hard to say if there will be successors, but they certainly had no predecessors.

A-Rank Missions, even Kakashi rarely encountered missions of this level; opportunities were scarce.

“Hehe, I was just thinking that doing missions that are too low-level would waste your strength, Teacher Muzuki,” Obito said, pretending to be considerate of Muzuki.

    Slap!

Muzuki answered with action that such a method was ineffective.

After leaving the Hokage Building, Muzuki distributed the money equally among his disciples and said:

“We won’t gather for training today; take a day off. We’ll gather as usual tomorrow, but if anyone is truly restless and wants to train, you can go to the forest. I’ll be there later.”

His three disciples nodded. Kakashi was originally going to go home to rest. Learning with Muzuki was a bit tiring; they basically trained every day, and even during missions, if there was nothing else, they trained.

But seeing the direction Obito and Might Guy were heading, Kakashi ultimately went to the South Border Forest to train. If Obito was working that hard, what reason did he have to go home and rest?

Looking at Kakashi on his left and Might Guy on his right, Obito felt a sense of dread. Were they not going to rest? Were they in such a hurry to train?

Obito went to the South Border Forest simply because Rin Nohara would be training there at that time, and he wanted to chat with Rin Nohara and tell her about his mission experience.

But if Might Guy and Kakashi were both going to do extra training, then Obito certainly couldn’t sit still. Might Guy didn’t matter, but Kakashi was his current target for challenge, and Obito didn’t want to lose to Kakashi.

“Haha, everyone’s youth is very passionate today! Youth means more training!” Might Guy laughed, giving both of them a thumbs-up. As expected of his good friends, their diligence was almost catching up to his.

    Obito:…

    Kakashi:…

On the other side, Muzuki looked at the gains from this mission.

【Disciple Might Guy worked diligently to complete the entrusted mission, gaining a growth reward of Chakra +200, with an additional reward of Chakra +100 for being led by the teacher himself.】

【Disciple Uchiha Obito worked diligently to complete the entrusted mission, gaining a growth reward of Chakra +200, with an additional reward of Chakra +100 for being led by the teacher himself.】

【Disciple Kakashi Hatake worked diligently to complete the entrusted mission, gaining a growth reward of Chakra +200, with an additional reward of Chakra +100 for being led by the teacher himself.】

The total Chakra gain from this mission was nine hundred points. To be honest, it was much more than Muzuki expected; he had thought it would be at most four or five hundred.

This was because the enemies encountered in this mission were far weaker than the elite Cloud Ninja squad from last time. Last time, there were not only two Jonin, but one of them was even an elite Jonin with a Bloodline Limit.

The total reward from the last mission was actually only one thousand three hundred and fifty Chakra points, only four hundred and fifty points more than this time.

Undoubtedly, in terms of opponent strength, the rewards should not have differed so greatly.

Muzuki showed a thoughtful expression and found a possibility.

Although the enemies in the last mission were very strong, they were mostly dealt with by Muzuki. His disciples only resolved two Ninja on their own strength.

However, the enemies encountered in this mission, though not a single Jonin and only three Chunin, were all dealt with by the disciples, with Muzuki only providing protection from the shadows.

“The greater the role disciples play in the mission, the higher the reward?” Muzuki guessed.

If that were the case, even if he took on an S-rank Mission, the final reward wouldn’t be too exaggerated, because in an S-rank Mission, Obito and the others would inevitably only be Muzuki’s accessories. Muzuki’s class would rampage through high-level missions, with Muzuki doing the rampaging and Obito and the others doing the ‘ga ga’ (onomatopoeia for squawking/making noise).

Then Muzuki looked at his current panel.

    【Name: Hayate Mugetsu】

    【Chakra: 38300】

The increase was quite good, already approaching forty thousand. According to the calculations from when the data wasn’t updated, it was a full fifteen point three small Kaka, bringing him closer to his small goal of fifty thousand Chakra.

Muzuki returned to his home in the Main urban area. Walking down the street where his house was located, Muzuki didn’t go straight in but instead activated his Byakugan to check Minato’s house. Minato wasn’t home.

Then, at his own doorstep, Muzuki found a letter protected by a Sealing Technique restriction.

Muzuki removed the restriction, took out the letter, and found that Minato had left it for him. Muzuki walked towards his house, opening the envelope to check the contents.
