Chapter 57 The real exam started before entering the examination room (Please read it later)
by SunflowerThe physical training was much harder than Shisui had anticipated.
Before this, he usually only exercised by running, and rarely ran until he was exhausted.
But today was different; Shisui did almost every exercise for every part of his body.
After completing eight hundred push-ups, Shisui felt his arms no longer belonged to him; after eight hundred squats, his legs were as heavy as lead; and after eight hundred sit-ups, his abdomen ached.
After finishing all these basic exercises, Shisui, leaning against a tree, felt he had lost control of his body.
He usually didn’t feel much watching Might Guy train intensely, but when it was his turn, he realized how difficult it was.
Towards the end, he was almost relying on sheer willpower to push through; his physical senses were already very blurry, and he was just mechanically repeating movements based on his will.
Shisui almost couldn’t resist using his Chakra to assist with the exercise; it was just too tiring.
Imagine, constantly flowing sweat blurs your eyes, the salt in it makes your eyes uncomfortable, and every movement of your heavy limbs is a test of will and strength, but you cannot stop because you haven’t reached your training goal.
“Four hundred twelve, four hundred thirteen…”
Watching Might Guy, who was still doing frog jumps not far away, Shisui couldn’t help but feel admiration.
He and Might Guy started training almost at the same time. Might Guy’s exercises were even harder to complete than his; he just did push-ups, while Might Guy did push-ups with a stone weighted on his back.
Even so, within the same amount of time, Might Guy still did more repetitions than him, and even after he was exhausted, Might Guy still had energy left and continued to exercise.
In fact, even in pure Taijutsu combat, Shisui would not lose to Might Guy, and might even be stronger than Might Guy, but if it was just a comparison of physical strength, he was far inferior to Might Guy.
When Might Guy rested, Shisui couldn’t help but ask, “Guy, you must have exercised frequently before, to be able to complete such a large training volume.”
Might Guy nodded and replied, “I started before I even entered the Ninja Academy; my father trained with me.”
Hearing Might Guy’s words, Shisui felt a little melancholic and envious, because he no longer had his parents at that age.
Shisui believed that if his parents were still alive then, they would have taught him Ninja knowledge too.
“Shisui, do you feel too tired to complete it? I have a training secret; do you want to hear it?” Might Guy decided to share the training method his father had passed down to him with Shisui.
Without the same clan relations as Obito and Shisui, his contact with Shisui wasn’t extensive, but they often trained and ate together, and Might Guy already considered Shisui a trustworthy comrade.
“What secret?” Shisui became interested.
“Impose self-restraint. Treat these completed trainings as a challenge. If you don’t complete the challenge, you must accept a punishment, such as doing five hundred more push-ups if you don’t finish three thousand on time,” Might Guy said.
“Forcing yourself by putting shackles on yourself is indeed a very good training method,” Shisui thought for a moment and said.
He felt that Might Guy’s method had a similar effect to Muzuki’s combat problem-solving.
Shisui hadn’t expected that Might Guy, who seemed rough around the edges, could come up with such a method to motivate himself.
“It’s great, right? My father taught it to me. Every time I encounter a difficult challenge, I have to impose self-restraint,” Might Guy scratched his head and laughed.
“Then your father must be a very powerful Jonin,” Shisui praised.
To be able to raise a son like Might Guy, he felt that Might Guy’s father couldn’t be bad.
“Haha, he’s just a Genin, but I think my father is amazing,” Might Guy laughed heartily.
Although he was just a perennial Genin, this did not prevent Might Guy from believing in his father’s strength.
“Genin…” Shisui’s expression was a little surprised, and he became even more curious about Might Guy’s father.
Given Might Guy’s age, his father must be at least twenty-eight, and over thirty would be normal. It’s a rare situation to still be a Genin at that age.
“I have a Chakra application technique for Taijutsu here; let’s discuss it,” Shisui reciprocated.
…In the Class 1, Grade 1 classroom at the Ninja Academy.
“The Ninjutsu Theory Class 1 course ends here. The final exams are in two weeks, so please review well and prepare for the final exams,” Muzuki said.
It was supposed to be finished a week ago, but Muzuki taught relatively quickly, so he left two weeks for review.
“Muzuki-sensei, don’t forget my dango,” Anko said.
“As long as you do well on the exam, you’ll get your dango,” Muzuki said with a smile.
“Muzuki-sensei, I want snacks,” Kotetsu Hagane raised his hand and said.
“You all prepare well for the exam, and there will be plenty of rewards,” Muzuki said as he tidied up his lesson plan.
Ring, ring, ring, the bell for class dismissal soon rang, and with the bell came a system message.
【Lecture Completed】【Evaluation: A】【Reward: Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Claw Crimson】
Muzuki picked up the lesson plan and secretly nodded, thinking this was also a relatively practical Fire Release Ninjutsu.
“Two weeks to review, just thinking about it feels exhausting,” Kotetsu Hagane complained.
“Then don’t review, anyway, it’s not like you weren’t listening in class,” Izumo Kamizuki suggested.
Because of Kotetsu Hagane’s unreliability, Izumo Kamizuki felt he had to rely on himself to find a girlfriend. He had already found out that the girl from his neighbor’s house was also attending the Ninja Academy, in Class 1, Grade 6.
He planned to get first place in the theory exam and then approach her as the top student.
Although Kotetsu Hagane scored a few points lower than him in the last exam, their scores in recent mock exams were almost identical. Izumo Kamizuki felt Kotetsu Hagane was a strong rival for first place, so he wanted Kotetsu Hagane to give up on reviewing.
“Not reviewing. That sounds good too. My older cousin in a higher grade told me that sometimes, not reviewing for an exam and facing it with a more relaxed attitude can actually lead to better results,” Kotetsu Hagane nodded and said.
In fact, Kotetsu Hagane’s first complaint was a setup for this sentence; he wanted Izumo Kamizuki to give up on reviewing so he could seize first place.
Because he had already boasted to Mihui that he could get first in theory, and Izumo Kamizuki was his strong rival for first place.
“Eh, is that really true?” Anko was a little tempted; she felt two weeks of reviewing was very tiring.
Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki both nodded in agreement.
“Shisui, do you usually review for exams?” Anko asked Shisui, who was behind her.
Shisui shook his head; he remembered everything during class.
Seeing that even Shisui, who got first place in the last theory exam, said so, Anko’s eyes immediately lit up, feeling that she really didn’t need to review.
“Then let’s go play together this weekend,” Anko invited her two good friends.
“No, I have something to do at home this weekend,” Kotetsu Hagane refused, shaking his head. He didn’t want to play; he only wanted to study and review to get first place.
“Then what about you, Izumo?” Anko looked at Izumo Kamizuki.
Izumo Kamizuki also shook his head and said, “My family has been very busy lately, so I can’t go either.”
Having finally tricked them into not reviewing, of course he would stay home and study intensely.
“Oh, I see. Then I’ll find other people to play with,” Anko didn’t doubt their words.
The real exam had already begun outside the classroom, and Anko had already been eliminated.
