Chapter Index

A few days after joining the South Border Forest training squad, Rin Nohara gained many new insights.

    For example, Muzuki’s strength.

Although Muzuki was a very excellent teacher in Rin Nohara’s impression, Rin Nohara always thought that Muzuki’s teaching level was superb, and his strength as a Ninja was similar to other Chunin teachers.

Now Rin Nohara realized that her idea was wrong.

Just when Muzuki taught Shisui Fire Release, the terrifying power of that Fire Release made Rin Nohara feel that Muzuki’s strength was extraordinary.

Although the Ninja Academy’s Ninjutsu class did not have Ninjutsu other than the Three Body Technique, students always asked, and occasionally Chunin teachers would show a hand, demonstrating other Ninjutsu for the students to see.

Rin Nohara had never seen a Jonin release Ninjutsu or fight, but she felt that even if Muzuki was not as good as those Jonin, he was still very strong among Chunin.

Moreover, Muzuki seemed very versatile; he knew a lot of Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, and even Medical Ninjutsu.

Besides Muzuki’s strength, upon closer observation, Rin Nohara found that Muzuki was a bit more relaxed here than at the Training Ground.

Then there was the matter of Obito’s diligent study last semester; when she saw Obito looking dejected after losing a running race and receiving a pile of assignments, Rin Nohara finally understood why she always saw Obito doing problems last semester.

She had found it strange before; if Obito suddenly loved studying, he looked bitter and unwilling when doing problems, but if he didn’t want to study, he was indeed studying every day, giving a contradictory feeling.

All in all, Rin Nohara was quite happy about becoming Muzuki’s disciple.

“Damn it, just a little bit more!” Obito sat on the ground, pounding the ground frantically in frustration.

Just now, he was just a little bit away from successfully running past Might Guy, who had crossed the finish line first.

“It’s okay, you were close this time. If you work a little harder, maybe you’ll succeed next time,” Rin Nohara comforted softly.

After receiving Rin Nohara’s comfort, Obito instantly recovered, stood up, patted the dust off his body, and shouted with great spirit, “Guy, you just wait, I’ll definitely surpass you tomorrow.”

“Obito, here are your thirty-five problems,” Muzuki said with a smile, handing the test paper to Obito.

Seeing the problems on the test paper, Obito’s health, which had been fully restored by Rin Nohara, began to rapidly deplete again; he tremblingly took the test paper, as if receiving a cup of poisoned wine for execution.

“Obito, didn’t you say you love studying very much?” Rin Nohara couldn’t help but smile when she saw Obito looking so tragic and desolate just taking a test paper.

“Yes, I love studying too much. I feel uncomfortable all over if I don’t do a dozen problems a day,” Obito said, nodding, trying to hold back his tears.

“Would you like me to add more?” Muzuki asked with a smile.

“Let’s not do that. While doing problems is good, one shouldn’t be greedy,” Obito decisively refused; an extra few dozen problems every day was already enough for him.

“Continue training,” Muzuki said, tapping Obito, who was overacting, with his finger.

In addition to teaching Rin Nohara Medical Ninjutsu knowledge, Muzuki was also teaching Rin Nohara Taijutsu.

Medical Ninjutsu can also be used in combat, and it has considerable lethality. If combined with excellent Taijutsu, the combat power will not be bad, just like Tsunade.

Because it was Saturday, Muzuki went to the Sarutobi Clan’s compound in the afternoon to train Asuma.

Hiruzen Sarutobi seemed not busy today; when Muzuki arrived at Asuma’s house, Hiruzen Sarutobi was sitting in the living room looking at something.

    “Sandaime-sama,” Muzuki greeted.

Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded in response, then put down the documents in his hand and asked with a smile:

“Muzuki, how is your summer special training progressing? Three weeks have passed, and most of the time is already over.”

The Ninja Academy’s holiday is from mid-July to early September, which is about a month and a half of vacation time.

It’s impossible for students to have no holiday at all, with seamless transitions from school to summer special training and then back to school, so the scheduled time for the summer special training is only five weeks.

“The students are all very diligent in their training and willing to learn; most of them have made progress,” Muzuki thought for a moment and replied.

“I arrange tests every week to facilitate recording their growth. I’ll go get those records now,” Muzuki continued, and then prepared to turn around to get the record data.

“No need to go to such trouble, Muzuki. Just bring them with you when you come tomorrow,” Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a chuckle.

“But since you said so, Muzuki, the results must be significant. It seems Konoha will have another Special Jonin in the future.”

Hiruzen Sarutobi planned to personally check the students’ progress in the fifth week.

If it was truly effective, he would promote the normalization of this special training.

If Konoha was truly affected by the war, Hiruzen Sarutobi might even cancel the regular Fourth Grade classes and have Muzuki directly help them with special training until graduation.

“Old man, I think you’re really getting senile. Muzuki-sensei is so excellent, why don’t you directly arrange for him to become a Jonin?” Asuma, who happened to be passing by, couldn’t help but speak up for his teacher.

“I feel like my Jonin instructor isn’t even as good as Muzuki-sensei.”

“Jonin are an important force in the Village; they must not only excel in one area but be excellent in all aspects,” Hiruzen Sarutobi explained.

Leaving aside other things, Muzuki’s current mission quantity and quality are simply not up to standard, far from it. His promotion to Special Jonin is only because Hiruzen sees Muzuki’s exceptionally high teaching level, coupled with his decent strength, which makes him promising for the future, hence the special promotion.

“I think Muzuki-sensei is excellent in all aspects. Anyway, you don’t really go to the Ninja Academy much, so why don’t you let Muzuki-sensei be the principal?” Asuma felt that Hiruzen Sarutobi should retire and hand over power sooner rather than later.

Hearing Asuma’s filial remarks, Hiruzen Sarutobi, whose blood pressure was soaring, rubbed his forehead and waved his hand, signaling Muzuki to quickly take Asuma away.

Muzuki understood, nodded, and then pulled Asuma away for training.

“When will this child grow up?” Hiruzen Sarutobi sighed.

Although as Hokage, he indeed didn’t have much time to attend to Ninja Academy matters, and Muzuki’s teaching ability was indeed strong, Hiruzen Sarutobi could not let Muzuki be the principal; at least, the current Muzuki was not qualified.

Since its establishment, the Ninja Academy has only had two principals: one was Senju Tobirama, and the other was Hiruzen Sarutobi himself.

The establishment of the Ninja Academy held great significance for Konoha. Even with the improvement of the system, the current principal of the Ninja Academy no longer held the same power as before, but it still carried some special meaning.

Unless a certain teacher truly made a huge contribution, Hiruzen Sarutobi’s only choice for the next principal would be the next Hokage.

Hiruzen Sarutobi believed that Asuma would understand his series of actions when he grew up.

Woke up late today, so I’ll post one chapter first. There are four more chapters later.
