Chapter Index

“What does General Fugaku want with me?”

Obito stretched, lying on a chair, and asked casually.

Obito wasn’t very familiar with Uchiha Fugaku; he had interacted more with Uchiha Yashiro.

Of course, that was also relative; Obito didn’t have a good impression of Uchiha Yashiro either, as he kept trying to persuade him to join the Police Force.

“It’s not a bad thing, anyway. It seems he wants to give you some kind of reward,” Grandma replied.

“Then I’ll go over after I finish eating.”

Hearing about a reward, Obito became slightly interested.

Joining the Police Force was out of the question, but he could certainly claim Uchiha’s reward, especially since the Uchiha still had quite a few advanced Fire Release Ninjutsu.

    “Is this enough to eat?”

Grandma placed the dishes on the dining table and looked at Obito with loving eyes, asking.

“Enough, enough! I might not even be able to finish all of this.”

Obito quickly nodded, afraid Grandma would bring out even more dishes.

There’s a kind of love where Grandma thinks you haven’t eaten enough; if Obito hadn’t strengthened his physique by practicing the Breathing Technique, he really might not have been able to eat so much.

After eating, Obito proactively washed the dishes before heading to Uchiha Fugaku’s house.

However, Obito forgot one thing: when he wasn’t on missions, he had free time to move around, but Uchiha Fugaku, as the Police Force captain, had to work.

So, Obito, arriving early, didn’t meet Uchiha Fugaku, but instead met Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Mikoto.

“Obito, are you here to play with Itachi?”

Uchiha Mikoto wasn’t aware of Obito’s purpose for coming.

Obito shook his head, “My Grandma said General Fugaku needed to see me.”

“He should still be at the Police Force working right now. He won’t be back for about half an hour. Why don’t you sit and wait for a bit, Obito? I’ll make you some tea.”

Uchiha Mikoto glanced at the time and replied.

“Half an hour, huh… I’ll wait here then, but you don’t need to make tea; I’m not thirsty right now.”

Obito thought for a moment and said. Obito was willing to wait for half an hour, after all, this was about getting a reward.

Since he had nothing to do, Obito decided to use this half-hour to guide Uchiha Itachi.

“Itachi, you must become a good person in the future, not a bad person.”

Obito walked up to Uchiha Itachi, who was spacing out in the yard, and suddenly said.

Uchiha Itachi looked at Obito with a puzzled expression.

“What kind of person can be called good, and what kind of person can be called bad? Why must one become a good person?”

Uchiha Itachi’s eyes were full of confusion.

Obito scratched his head, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

“A good person is someone who often helps others, and a bad person is someone who often bullies others. Because bad people are disliked by everyone, you should become a good person.”

    Obito tried hard to explain.

“So, helping Grandma cross the road is being a good person, and someone who snatches Grandma’s lollipop is a bad person.”

Uchiha Itachi showed a thoughtful expression.

    “You could say that.”

Obito nodded in agreement. He, who often helped the elderly, was undoubtedly a truly good person.

“But what if someone helps Grandma cross the road and then snatches her lollipop? Is that person good or bad?”

Uchiha Itachi combined the two scenarios in his mind and came up with a new question.

    “This…”

Obito ran his hands through his hair, speechless for a moment.

If he said the person was good, they snatched something; if he said they were bad, they helped Grandma across the road.

“Ahem, that question doesn’t count. Most people wouldn’t do that.”

Obito coughed twice, trying to brush it off by citing reality, as he truly didn’t know how to answer.

Uchiha Itachi quietly watched Obito, seemingly eager to hear Obito’s answer to the question.

If given the chance, Obito wouldn’t mind being seen as knowledgeable in the eyes of his junior clan members, but he really couldn’t articulate an answer, and the situation became awkward for a moment.

Eventually, Uchiha Fugaku, who returned early, broke the silence.

“Obito, did you just come back from the battlefield today?”

Uchiha Fugaku smiled and greeted Obito.

Obito looked at Uchiha Fugaku with a grateful gaze, as if granted a great pardon, “Yes, everyone was injured on the last mission, so Muzuki Sensei told us to return to Konoha to recuperate for a while.”

“After such an intense battle, you must rest well if you’re injured. Your body is the most important thing.”

Uchiha Fugaku said with a concerned expression.

This time, Obito and Shisui brought great honor to the Uchiha Clan; their reputations as geniuses spread throughout Konoha.

“I’m fine, mainly my other teammates were more severely injured.”

    Obito replied honestly.

    “That’s good.”

Uchiha Fugaku nodded and led Obito to the living room.

“Mikoto, please get the red scroll from my bedroom.”

Uchiha Fugaku instructed Uchiha Mikoto, who was bringing tea.

“Obito, you have excellent talent in Fire Release, but besides your own efforts, learning from the cultivation experiences of predecessors is also a good option. I have some Fire Release cultivation techniques from past Uchiha Clan heads; take them home and study them.”

Uchiha Fugaku turned to Obito and said with a smile.

    “It’s cultivation techniques, huh.”

Obito was a little disappointed; he had thought it would be advanced Fire Release Ninjutsu.

He felt that cultivation techniques were not as good as advanced Fire Release, because he was the least adept at reading books and materials; it would definitely be difficult for him to achieve results researching these things alone.

“Obito, is there any Fire Release Ninjutsu you wish to learn?”

Uchiha Fugaku asked upon seeing his expression. Given Obito’s current performance, Uchiha Fugaku would try his best to meet Obito’s growth needs.

Because Uchiha Fugaku truly saw the hope of Uchiha’s revival in Uchiha Obito.

It was very difficult for a Uchiha to become Hokage.

First, there was the indispensable strength. Although the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan gave them a considerable advantage over ordinary Ninja, this level of advantage was nothing among the Hokage candidates, because every Ninja who had a chance to become Hokage was a true genius.

After passing the talent and strength assessment, there was identity. If one had an identity related to the Hokage, such as a Hokage’s disciple, a Hokage’s grand-disciple, or a Hokage’s guard, then the chance of becoming Hokage would be greater.

Finally, there was prestige. The Hokage would not be an unknown Ninja; greater prestige could also increase the chance of becoming Hokage.

In terms of strength, with Obito’s talent, he would undoubtedly become a powerful figure like the Three Sannin, so there was no problem there.

Then, Obito’s teacher after graduation was Minato Namikaze, Jiraiya’s disciple, a pure Hokage lineage. Obito’s other teacher, Hayate Mugetsu, was the Vice Principal of the Ninja Academy and also a Hokage lineage strongman. There was no problem with his identity.

In terms of prestige, Obito, as a young Chunin, was already famous throughout Konoha, having over-fulfilled the accumulation required for his current age group.

At just ten years old, Obito had already made progress in the three key elements of becoming Hokage, which is why Uchiha Fugaku was so optimistic about Obito.

“I want to learn all the advanced Fire Release Ninjutsu.”

    Obito replied with a chuckle.

Obito never had enough Ninjutsu; having them and not learning them was one thing, but not having them at all was another.

“Then come again tomorrow night. I’ll look tomorrow to see if there are any Fire Release Ninjutsu suitable for you in the clan now.”

Uchiha Fugaku pondered for a moment. He wasn’t reluctant to part with Ninjutsu, but rather worried that Obito might bite off more than he could chew.

“Hehe, then I’ll trouble General Fugaku.”

Obito scratched his head and smiled, thanking Uchiha Fugaku.

“This is the meaning of the clan. You just keep working hard and growing.”

Uchiha Fugaku said with a smile while handing the scroll brought by Uchiha Mikoto to Obito.

Although not very interested, since it was free, Obito still happily accepted it.

After achieving his goal, Obito didn’t stay long. He was worried that Uchiha Itachi would ask that question again that could make his brain freeze.

“Itachi, you should learn more from Obito.”

Watching Obito’s departing back, Uchiha Fugaku patted Uchiha Itachi’s head and said with an expectant tone.

Besides Obito, Shisui’s performance was also excellent. If his son, Uchiha Itachi, could be like Obito and them, then this would truly be a great era of revival for the Uchiha.

    “Learn from Obito, huh…”

Uchiha Itachi recalled his conversation with Obito and fell into deep thought. If he had a choice, he would still prefer to learn from Shisui; Obito didn’t seem very smart.

    Iwagakure, Tsuchikage’s office.

“First, there was the Yellow Flash who could fight the AB Combo to a draw, and now there’s Hayate Mugetsu, who defeated the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and killed Haku. Konoha truly has an enviable number of geniuses.”

Ōnoki put down the document in his hand, his expression growing more solemn.

Iwagakure had done well in recuperating, and its Ninja forces had developed greatly. Now, Iwagakure could easily assemble a Ninja force of over ten thousand.

On the surface, Iwagakure appeared to be thriving, but only Ōnoki, as the Third Tsuchikage, knew that Iwagakure had a significant hidden danger.

That was the lack of top-tier strongmen in Iwagakure. Among the tens of thousands of Iwagakure Ninja, only Kitsuchi among the younger generation barely satisfied Ōnoki; no one else had shown any potential to become a top-tier strongman.

This worried Ōnoki. The Five Great Ninja Villages were the Five Great Ninja Villages precisely because they had both top-tier strongmen who could awe the Ninja World and numerous Chunin and Jonin, allowing them to completely overwhelm smaller Ninja Villages.

Currently, Iwagakure still had some old-timers like him, but if Iwagakure remained in this state twenty years later, it would suffer greatly in terms of top combat power.

Ōnoki truly envied Konoha. From the beginning of the Ninja Village era until now, Konoha had produced too many geniuses, even though Konoha had fewer Ninja than Iwagakure.

“We still have to find a way to weaken Konoha first. Even if there’s an opportunity with Kumogakure, we have to put it aside.”

Ōnoki believed Konoha was too strong. Without weakening Konoha first, the game couldn’t be played; if the stalemate continued, Konoha would always be the strongest.

“Ninja Master Sōsuke, since their ideal is peace, if we can find a way to create conflict between Konoha and the Land of Rain, perhaps we can pit the Shinobi Sect against Konoha.”

Ōnoki saw the report submitted by Kitsuchi and thought of a plan to make enemies for Konoha.

Although the Shinobi Sect had little power, its few strongmen were not to be underestimated.

Ninja Master Sōsuke, who could defeat Hanzō, goes without saying; he was a true top-tier strongman, whose individual combat ability might only be second to Hiruzen Sarutobi and the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.

Kakuzu, who had been active in the black market for decades, was also not to be underestimated; even if he couldn’t defeat the Three Sannin, he wouldn’t be far off.

Although Nagato was not well-known in the Ninja World, according to Kitsuchi’s report, Nagato was also no ordinary Ninja; his strength might be on par with Kakuzu, and his methods were extremely bizarre.

With these three strongmen, Ōnoki felt that the Shinobi Sect could definitely cause Konoha to stumble significantly.

    Hidden Sand Village.

After completing her mission, Pakura glanced at the latest Ninja World battle situation.

“Konoha’s great victory, Hayate Mugetsu slays Haku, Raiga Kurosuki…”

Seeing these somewhat familiar names, a golden figure quickly formed in Pakura’s mind.

“It’s normal for it to be him.”

Pakura sighed after recalling the battle a few months ago.

Although there was a reason for unequal intelligence, Muzuki did indeed defeat her in just a few moves.

If Muzuki had intended to kill her then, he could have killed her directly.

At that time, Pakura had a premonition that she would soon hear news of Muzuki at some point; such a strongman could not remain unknown forever.

As she expected, a few months later, today, Muzuki indeed became famous in the Ninja World on the battlefield, becoming a rising new star.

“Hidden Mist has suffered such a great loss from Konoha; they probably won’t dare to bother Hidden Sand for a while,” Pakura thought.

Hidden Mist had shown considerable interest in the chaotic Hidden Sand previously, and Pakura was very wary of Hidden Mist.

The current situation in Hidden Sand was indeed not good. Due to the disappearance of the Third Kazekage, it experienced a wave of internal strife, consuming some of its vital forces. Later, the news leaked, and Kumogakure took advantage of the situation.

Even Pakura, a hero of Hidden Sand, felt that Hidden Sand was currently the weakest among the Five Great Ninja Villages.

“If there hadn’t been an internal war over the Kazekage position, Hidden Sand wouldn’t have fallen to this point.”

Pakura hated those who caused Hidden Sand Village to fall into internal strife for power.

    Hidden Cloud Village.

After seeing Muzuki’s battle achievements and the results of Konoha’s East Coast Battlefield in the Land of Fire, the Third Raikage convened a meeting with his think tank.

Not only for the great Ninja Villages stuck in the quagmire of war, but this extraordinary encounter with remarkable results quickly spread throughout the entire Ninja World. All the small Ninja Villages and Ninja forces in the Ninja World learned that a new young strongman named Hayate Mugetsu had appeared in Konoha.

The Ninja on all of Konoha’s battlefields were greatly boosted in morale, believing that victory was surely ahead for them.

Meanwhile, Konoha’s enemy Ninja Villages went to great lengths to investigate Muzuki’s intelligence.

Although Konoha publicized Muzuki’s achievements, most Ninja only knew that Muzuki was very strong but didn’t know what his abilities were.

Only the Hidden Mist Ninja, who were currently fighting Muzuki, knew a considerable amount of Muzuki’s intelligence.

From their battles with Muzuki, they learned that Muzuki was skilled in Ice Release, Fire and Wind Combination Ninjutsu, and Flying Thunder God.

Those who knew Muzuki’s intelligence understood how troublesome he was; he could bombard from afar with Combination Ninjutsu and instantly kill up close with Flying Thunder God.

Due to their hostile relationship, Hidden Mist very happily sold multiple copies of Muzuki’s intelligence.

PS: It’s been warm and cold recently, truly a bit hard to bear. Everyone, please pay attention to keeping warm. Xiao Ju is already sick, and as soon as I woke up, swallowing felt like being cut by a knife. Fortunately, the dizziness isn’t too severe, so writing four thousand characters isn’t a problem, it just takes more time.
