Chapter Index

At Training Ground 16, Muzuki was taking attendance before the exam.

Since the entire Ninja Academy was taking the exam together, and practical combat required space, the school’s playground was clearly not large enough for so many people, so they went directly to the Training Ground for the exam.

After confirming that all examinees were present, Muzuki and Kimura Sugito announced the start of the drawing of lots.

The rules of the practical combat exam were simple: students would be called up by class roster to draw lots, and then the lot number would determine their opponent; Number one would fight Number two, Number three would fight Number four, and so on.

“I’m Number one! Rin, what number are you?” Obito eagerly sought out Rin Nohara after drawing his lot.

“I’m Number ten, so that means Obito, you’re in the first match!” Rin Nohara replied.

“It doesn’t matter which match, I’m definitely going to win.” Obito was very confident; he believed everyone would be shocked by his current strength.

After training with Muzuki for a month, Obito felt he gained new insights every day. The current him had left his past self far behind.

After asking Rin Nohara, Obito went to ask Might Guy for his number.

    “Forty.” Might Guy replied.

“In that case, we can probably only meet at the very end.” Obito didn’t expect Might Guy to be at the opposite end from him.

“Don’t lose before me, Obito.” Might Guy gave Obito a thumbs-up to cheer him on.

“That’s what I should be saying! I’m a Uchiha.” Obito didn’t know if Might Guy was doing it on purpose or not, but it sounded so much like a provocation.

“Where do you two get such confidence?” A classmate next to them complained. How could two dead last students be talking about a showdown at the peak?

“The first battle is about to begin. Examinee Number one, Uchiha Obito, and Examinee Number two, Uchiha Tekka, please prepare for the exam.” Muzuki glanced at the time and announced the official start of the exam.

Obito didn’t argue with those who complained about him and quickly walked to the square area marked with white lines to prepare for the exam.

Uchiha Tekka also quickly entered the examination area and exchanged glances with Obito.

Although both were Uchiha, of the same age, and classmates, they had barely spoken to each other.

There was no dramatic plot; it was simply that neither party was interested in the other.

Uchiha Tekka thought Obito was a bit foolish, lacked strength, and was often late. He had never seen such a weak Uchiha.

Obito thought Uchiha Tekka seemed cold and difficult to get along with.

“Both sides are Uchiha; this is going to be interesting.” Some people who enjoyed watching drama could barely suppress their laughter.

They were both from the same Ninja Clan; whoever lost would be embarrassed.

“What’s so interesting about it? Besides Uchiha Tekka winning, could Uchiha Obito possibly win?” The person next to him, however, believed it was a battle with no suspense.

“You know, Uchiha Tekka has been class first in the Second Grade and Third Grade, except for his First Grade when he was outdone by Kakashi.”

“And what level is Uchiha Obito? He’s never passed a theory exam, and his practical combat is just average. How could he possibly beat Uchiha Tekka?”

The person who enjoyed drama thought about it and realized it was true. Uchiha Tekka could be said to be a standard Uchiha Ninja, excellent in both practical combat and theory. Besides the prodigy Kakashi, who graduated in First Grade, no one in the class was his opponent.

It would be truly difficult for Uchiha Obito, the dead last of the Uchiha Clan, to defeat an excellent Uchiha like Uchiha Tekka.

“Obito, be careful!” Rin Nohara said worriedly.

She felt Obito’s luck was really bad.

With Obito’s strength, he wouldn’t be at the top of the class, but he wouldn’t be eliminated in the first round either.

However, encountering Uchiha Tekka, a formidable opponent who was consistently first, Rin Nohara only hoped Obito wouldn’t push himself too hard, to avoid injury.

Mentally, she supported Obito’s victory, but realistically, there was a clear disparity in their strengths.

“Almost everyone is pessimistic, but a victory under such circumstances is even more exhilarating!” Might Guy stood with his arms crossed, a cheerful smile on his face. Unlike the others, he believed Obito could win.

The commotion in Class 2, Grade 4, even piqued the curiosity of other Fourth Grade classes nearby, and many people came over to take a look.

Practical combat exams were relatively free; as long as they didn’t leave the Training Ground, it was fine.

But seeing it was Obito and Tekka, many people lost interest.

They were all in the same grade, and they had been taking practical combat exams together for several years, so everyone knew who was strong in which class.

Uchiha Tekka fighting Uchiha Obito, wasn’t that just a pure massacre? What was there to see?

Only a few people who wanted to see Uchiha Tekka’s strength stayed behind.

The two stood opposite each other and formed the Confrontation Seal.

This was a necessary procedure for battles in the Ninja Academy, to inform the opponent that one was about to attack. After the fight, they would also form the Reconciliation Seal, symbolizing that they were still good comrades.

“Begin!” Muzuki, seeing that both were ready, announced the start of the battle.

As soon as Muzuki’s words fell, Uchiha Tekka quickly took three Shuriken from his Ninja tool pouch and threw them towards Obito, targeting Obito’s head, body, and feet respectively, then swiftly rushed towards Obito.

Obito also casually took out three Shuriken and quickly threw them.

The six Shuriken collided, producing a crisp metallic sound, and fell to the ground together.

“The Uchiha Clan’s Shuriken throwing is indeed extraordinary. Even Uchiha Obito, an Uchiha with relatively ordinary talent, has a decent hand in Shuriken throwing,” Kimura Sugito commented.

Intercepting Shuriken with Shuriken required excellent accuracy.

Because the area was not large, Uchiha Tekka quickly approached Obito and swiftly threw a right hook.

Obito showed no fear, met the punch with his own fist, and began to grapple with Uchiha Tekka.

The two went back and forth, stirring up dust on the ground in an intense battle.

“Oh, so this Uchiha Obito is quite skilled in Taijutsu?” The people who came to watch were surprised.

Uchiha Obito, who was called the dead last of the Uchiha Clan, was actually fighting Uchiha Tekka back and forth.

People from other classes were surprised, not to mention those from their own class, who all looked as if they had seen a ghost.

Shouldn’t the normal procedure be for Obito to be kicked away and instantly killed by Uchiha Tekka?

“Obito has really gotten so much stronger.” Rin Nohara’s small mouth was slightly open, somewhat disbelieving.

She had always thought Obito was just bluffing as before, but she didn’t expect him to have truly become stronger this time!

“Uchiha Obito is still a bit lacking.” Kimura Sugito shook his head and said. As a Chunin, he could see much more than the students.

“He is indeed a bit lacking in Taijutsu.” Muzuki nodded.

After all, it had only been a month, and it was impossible to cover all aspects. In this month, Obito mainly practiced Fire Release Ninjutsu, and under Muzuki’s guidance, his Nature Transformation had greatly improved compared to before.

As Kimura Sugito said, Obito was gradually pushed back.

“I knew it; how could Uchiha Obito be Uchiha Tekka’s opponent?” The person who had just complained about Obito breathed a sigh of relief.

If Obito had won against Uchiha Tekka, wouldn’t it make him seem to have poor judgment?

However, he felt it would be better to cancel Obito’s nickname as the dead last of the Uchiha in the future. With this performance, calling him the dead last would be a bit of an overstatement.

Obito found an opportunity to use Uchiha Tekka’s punch to temporarily create distance between them, then quickly began to form hand signs.

He had practiced Fire Release for so long not to passionately exchange punches with Uchiha Tekka.

Don’t think this chapter is making characters stupid; it’s because Obito’s arrogant behavior provoked others to complain.
