Chapter 294: Progress in Two and a Half Months
by SunflowerAfter Hiruzen Sarutobi finished handling war-related affairs, he seriously considered Muzuki’s medical specialist student plan and found it feasible.
Therefore, he dispatched Ninja to summon Muzuki and Tsunade to the Hokage Office.
The reason Tsunade was called was because she understood Medical Ninjutsu well and could provide suggestions on specific training details.
Another reason was that Hiruzen Sarutobi hoped to make Tsunade understand his thoughts; not adopting Tsunade’s ideas was not because he was heartless, but because Tsunade’s proposals were too poorly considered.
Muzuki and Tsunade met on the way.
“Lady Tsunade,” Muzuki greeted first.
“Are you also going to the Hokage Building?” Tsunade asked, looking at the Hokage Building not far away.
After the Second Shinobi World War, Tsunade stopped taking combat-related missions, so she rarely went to the Hokage Office.
Coupled with coincidentally meeting Muzuki, who proposed the Medical Ninja specialist student idea, Tsunade vaguely understood why Hiruzen Sarutobi had called her to the Hokage Office.
“Yes, Lady Tsunade, are you as well?” Muzuki asked with a smile.
“Mm, it should be related to the medical specialist students you proposed earlier,” Tsunade stated her guess.
“Speaking of which, Muzuki, how did you come up with this method?”
Saying this, Tsunade looked at Muzuki.
She felt that this method was really good; if it were truly implemented, the growth of Medical Ninja would be much more stable than it is now, and it would be easier to discover Ninja with talent in Medical Ninjutsu.
“How to put it, because I am a teacher at the Ninja Academy, I tend to think about problems from the perspective of the Ninja Academy,” Muzuki thought for a moment before answering.
“I think it’s because you personally think a lot about this area; otherwise, why haven’t other Ninja Academy teachers proposed this idea?” Tsunade praised Muzuki with a smile.
Since its creation by Senju Tobirama, the Ninja Academy had undergone virtually no changes, always following the same model.
Muzuki smiled humbly, thinking to himself that Tsunade was quite interested in this aspect; it was the first time Muzuki had seen Tsunade praise him so seriously.
Muzuki continued the conversation, talking about some of his ideas for the Ninja Academy.
For example, his Ninja Middle School and Ninja University; the Middle School would teach more Ninjutsu knowledge and Taijutsu on the foundation of elementary school, while the University would specialize in fields, allowing students to delve deeply into a particular area.
Those who didn’t get into university could also graduate directly and become Ninja, and university students could be considered Ninja to take on missions.
Tsunade’s gaze towards Muzuki was a bit off; she felt she saw the shadow of her granduncle, the Second Hokage Senju Tobirama, in Muzuki.
Muzuki’s Ninja University concept was already completely different from the current Ninja Academy; this level of innovation could only be described as audacious.
The two walked and talked, quickly arriving at the entrance of the Hokage Office.
Muzuki was about to knock, but Tsunade pushed the door open directly, so Muzuki followed her inside.
“Sandaime,” Muzuki greeted.
Tsunade was not so polite and said directly, “Just say what you need to say quickly.”
Facing such a Tsunade, Hiruzen Sarutobi was not annoyed.
He chuckled, removed his pipe from his mouth, and replied, “I think Muzuki’s idea for medical specialist students is very good, and you are the most skilled in Medical Ninjutsu, so you can play a role in their specific training.”
“Muzuki, explain your idea for the medical specialist students in detail.”
Muzuki thought for a moment and began, “First, regarding the recruitment scope for specialist students, I believe that students in their second or third year are best, as students at this stage have already laid a foundation.”
The Ninja Academy had a considerable number of civilian Ninja, and before entering the Ninja Academy, they knew nothing, so Muzuki did not plan to set up specialist student classes in the first year; at the very least, it would have to be the second year.
In fact, he was more inclined to the third year, but currently, it was a state of war, and students graduated relatively early, so the third year was a bit late.
If it were a normal six-year system, the third year would be very good.
“Furthermore, the graduation exam for specialist students can be changed to content related to Medical Ninjutsu,” Muzuki continued.
At the Jonin meeting, it was indeed just a Flash of inspiration, but after going back, he thought it over carefully and planned out all the details.
Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded as he listened to Muzuki’s words, very satisfied with Muzuki’s attitude, as this was clearly not a casual remark but something he had thoroughly considered.
“Then this matter will be entrusted to you and Tsunade to handle.
Once the plan is thoroughly perfected, submit it to me for approval,” Hiruzen Sarutobi said after exhaling a faint puff of white smoke.
Muzuki and Tsunade both had no objections to this; if it were something else, Tsunade might not be willing to do it, but she was indeed willing to act on this.
“If you don’t understand anything about the training of Medical Ninja in the future, you can ask me directly.
The task of writing the plan is up to you,” Tsunade patted Muzuki’s shoulder with one hand and gave him a thumbs-up with the other.
“At least don’t say that in the Hokage Office,” Hiruzen Sarutobi shook his head with a helpless expression.
“Otherwise, what? Should I write it? Would you approve it?” Tsunade retorted impolitely.
Hiruzen Sarutobi showed a helpless smile; could it be his fault if it wasn’t approved? It was Tsunade’s ideas that were too detached from reality.
Muzuki gladly accepted the task; his Shadow Clone could handle such small matters beautifully.
However, this matter had no impact on Konoha, but it did have some impact on the Ninja Academy.
It was unrealistic to establish it directly in the new semester; Muzuki felt that implementing it next semester would still be considered fast.
Several disciples had graduated, but Muzuki was still busy this semester, with his schedule packed every day, including his own matters and those of his disciples.
After all, his disciples had only graduated, not completely left Konoha; Obito and the others would basically come to find Muzuki whenever they had time.
Amidst such busyness, time passed quickly.
Basic Breathing Technique was much simpler; Rin Nohara made half the progress in two and a half months, able to concentrate her breathing to enhance her physical abilities.
During this period, Might Guy successfully trained the Eight Gates to the point where he could open the Third Gate and began practicing Rock Breathing Constant State.
Obito’s Flame Breathing Constant State training reached a new stage; what he needed to do now was maintain twenty-four hours of uninterrupted Flame Breathing.
Although Kakashi still hadn’t solved his reaction problem, he improved his Thunderclap Flash, developing a Half-Flash.
It was a move he had developed after long exploration, having explosive power but not exceeding his reaction speed, slower than a Flash but stronger in power.
Shisui redeveloped existing Fire Release to make the Ninjutsu more suitable for himself.
In these two and a half months, with Tsunade’s help, Muzuki mastered more Medical Ninjutsu knowledge and, through teaching, acquired many Ninjutsu of various attributes, making progress in addressing his shortcomings.
As July approached, another matter was added to Muzuki’s plate: he was selected as an examiner for the Chunin Exams.
