Chapter Index

“Guy, is your home convenient today? I’d like to visit your home,” Muzuki said to Might Guy after training.

“Huh? What home visit?” Might Guy scratched his head, a bit confused.

Ninja Academy didn’t have a tradition of parent-teacher conferences or home visits, so Might Guy didn’t quite understand Muzuki’s meaning.

“You can understand it as me visiting your home later. After all, it’s my first time meeting another Eight Gates practitioner besides myself,” Muzuki said with a smile.

“No problem, it’s very convenient,” Might Guy replied, nodding happily.

Might Guy was naturally very welcoming of Muzuki visiting his home. After all, Muzuki had helped him so much; Might Guy was truly grateful to Muzuki.

Whether it was being first in his Ninja Academy grade or defeating the Ninja who spoke ill of his father, his current strength was inseparable from Muzuki’s diligent teaching. It could be said that without Muzuki, he wouldn’t have his current achievements.

“Then, Teacher, I’ll run back first and tell my father, so he can make more food,” Might Guy said after thinking.

Might Duy’s cooking time was inconsistent; sometimes Might Guy would return and it would already be ready, other times he hadn’t even started.

“It’s fine, let’s go back together. I can also buy some groceries on the way,” Muzuki said gently.

Although Muzuki originally had no intention of eating, since Might Guy mentioned it, Muzuki decided not to refuse Might Guy’s kindness. Eating together would also make it easier for his future plans.

“Teacher Muzuki, since you’re visiting, how can I trouble you to buy groceries?” Might Guy shook his head, feeling it wasn’t right.

“Just consider it that your teacher is a bit picky about food,” Muzuki said with a chuckle, patting Might Guy’s head.

Might Guy still felt it wasn’t right, but he couldn’t argue with Muzuki and was eventually persuaded by him.

Finally, Might Guy led the way, taking Muzuki to his home, and bought some groceries at the nearest market on the way.

“I’m home,” Might Guy said, pushing open the door.

“Guy, welcome home! Did you burn your youth in training today?” Might Duy responded enthusiastically while washing vegetables.

“Of course, today was also a day full of youthful vigor!” Might Guy replied instinctively.

When he remembered that Muzuki had also come along, Might Guy quickly said:

“Dad, don’t be busy yet, we have a guest.”

“Oh, a guest, really?” Might Duy stopped what he was doing and walked towards the door.

“Dad, this is Teacher Muzuki. He’s a teacher at the Ninja Academy, and he teaches really well. Because of his outstanding teaching ability, he’s already been promoted to Special Jonin,” Might Guy introduced Muzuki.

Due to Muzuki’s previous request, Might Guy didn’t reveal too much information, only what everyone already knew.

“He’s a Special Jonin? Then he must be a very excellent Ninja!” Might Duy said, showing his big white teeth and giving a thumbs-up.

“Hello, Might Dai,” Muzuki said with a smile. Might Guy had briefly introduced Might Duy to him on the way.

Might Duy’s impression of Muzuki immediately improved. Although he was much older than Muzuki, Muzuki, as a Special Jonin, didn’t need to address a Genin like him as ‘Might Dai’.

“Dad, these are the groceries Teacher Muzuki bought on the way here,” Might Guy handed the groceries to Might Duy.

“Why would a guest need to buy groceries?” Might Duy felt this was improper.

“Haha, I saw a discount at the store on the way and couldn’t help but buy them. I’m really sorry if I caused you any trouble,” Muzuki said with an apologetic expression.

“If it was a discount, then there’s really nothing to be done. Anyone would be tempted when they see discounted items,” Might Duy stroked his chin, showing an understanding expression.

Might Guy scratched his head. Muzuki and he weren’t together when buying groceries, so he didn’t know if it was really a discount or if Muzuki just said it to make Might Duy feel comfortable accepting it.

Next, Muzuki didn’t forcefully offer to help cook or wash vegetables. An overly enthusiastic guest isn’t ideal; moderation is key.

During dinner, Muzuki initiated the conversation, saying with a smile:

“Guy works very hard at school. Although his foundation wasn’t good at first, he gradually started to excel from the first semester of Fourth Grade. Now, in Fourth Grade, he essentially only has one opponent.”

“This is youth!” Might Duy cried out, hugging Might Guy, tears streaming down his face. He was proud of Might Guy.

Although his grades weren’t good at first, Might Guy never gave up trying. Might Duy was truly moved watching his son slowly grow from the dead last to first place.

“Dad, we’re still eating,” Might Guy reminded him.

“Eat more! Burning youth also needs energy to sustain it,” Might Duy said, letting go and encouraging him.

“Might Dai, can I see your Eight Gates? I also practice this forbidden Jutsu,” Muzuki said after dinner.

“Teacher Muzuki, how do you know? And you actually practice this forbidden Jutsu?” Might Duy said, surprised.

“Dad, I told Teacher Muzuki,” Might Guy said.

“Besides attending my classes at the Ninja Academy, Guy is actually also my disciple, so he once told me about learning the Eight Gates,” Muzuki explained simply.

Revealing his master-disciple relationship with Might Guy to Might Duy was a result of Muzuki’s careful consideration.

Firstly, Might Duy is a very reliable and unassuming person. Although he possesses a forbidden Jutsu like the Eight Gates, he honestly remains a lifelong Genin. Revealing this relationship to Might Duy means there’s no need to worry about it leaking out.

Secondly, revealing this relationship can increase Might Duy’s goodwill, making it easier to continue with the upcoming Might Guy trust level improvement plan.

“Teacher Muzuki, no…” Might Guy was a bit surprised. He just wanted to help Muzuki explain, but he didn’t expect Muzuki to reveal something he had forbidden.

Muzuki strictly forbade his disciples from revealing their relationship.

“It’s fine, after all, he’s your father, Guy,” Muzuki explained gently.

Might Guy felt Muzuki’s trust and thought to himself that he must remind his father later not to reveal this matter.

“Guy’s teacher, so that’s it,” Might Duy understood some things he hadn’t quite grasped before.

Might Duy was very clear about his son’s strength. In the first semester of Fourth Grade, Might Guy’s strength suddenly improved by leaps and bounds.

Since Might Guy hadn’t told him, Might Duy just assumed it was Might Guy’s accumulated efforts finally paying off, but if there was a teacher instructing him, it made much more sense.

“I am truly grateful, thank you so much, Teacher Muzuki!” Might Duy bowed solemnly to Muzuki.

He felt some guilt towards Might Guy. As a father, the only thing he could teach Might Guy was the extremely dangerous forbidden Jutsu, the Eight Gates. He couldn’t teach him any other Ninjutsu or Taijutsu because he himself didn’t know any.

I’m having a lot of writer’s block today, there’s one more chapter after this and then I’m done.
