Chapter Index

At noon, Minato Namikaze, as usual, packed food from Muzuki’s house and went to Kushina’s Sealing Technique room.

It must be said that this feeling of long-lost daily life returning made Minato Namikaze feel much more relaxed.

Even a Ninja like him would feel suppressed after staying on the battlefield for too long.

Upon Minato Namikaze’s arrival, the Anbu responsible for protecting Kushina chose to ignore him.

Given Minato Namikaze’s relationship with Kushina, Minato Namikaze had permission to enter and exit this special place.

Minato Namikaze smiled slightly and greeted the Anbu when he noticed them.

Although Kushina disliked the Anbu, who were ostensibly protecting her but actually monitoring her, Minato Namikaze knew that the Anbu and the Village also had their difficulties.

The destructive power of a Tailed Beast was too terrifying; if an accident occurred, with the Tailed Beast’s terrifying destructive power, it would be a great crisis for the entire Konoha, so these were necessary safety measures.

The two Anbu nodded in response; one doesn’t hit a smiling person, and moreover, the one greeting them was the Yellow Flash, one of Konoha’s strongest in the new era.

“What time is it? Why isn’t it lunchtime yet? Who on earth decided on three meals a day? Why not six meals a day?”

Before Minato Namikaze could knock on Kushina’s door, he heard Kushina’s continuous complaints from inside the room.

Minato Namikaze showed a helpless smile and knocked on the door.

“Has the food arrived? It’s so slow. Can’t you be faster next time…?” Kushina was about to complain about the Anbu, but when she opened the door, she found that the person who came was Minato Namikaze.

Kushina’s eyes lit up as she looked at the food box Minato Namikaze was carrying, “Minato, you’re back! You came at just the right time, I’m hungry.”

Kushina quickly took the food box, took out the lunch, and placed it on the table in the room.

With her movements restricted and having to live under the Anbu’s gaze every day, the thing Kushina looked forward to most was eating; it was one of the few things that made her feel happy.

Of course, “eating” here only referred to eating Muzuki’s cooking.

Minato completely understood Kushina’s feelings; otherwise, he wouldn’t have rushed overnight yesterday.

Then, the two didn’t talk, immersing themselves in finishing lunch before looking at each other.

Kushina casually wiped the oil from the corners of her mouth with a tissue, and her slender fingers touched her fair chin as she carefully scrutinized Minato Namikaze.

Noticing Kushina’s gaze, Minato Namikaze thought he had something on his face and instinctively felt around, but touched nothing.

“Kushina, what are you looking at?” Minato Namikaze, puzzled, asked honestly.

“I’m looking at your face,” Kushina replied as if it were obvious.

    Minato Namikaze:…

He suddenly felt like he had just wasted half a minute.

“Actually, I was thinking if your cooking would be better if you wore black-framed glasses,” Kushina gestured on Minato Namikaze’s face.

Minato Namikaze sighed, “Even if you think that, Kushina, my cooking can’t become like Muzuki’s.”

Minato Namikaze had thought about learning Muzuki’s cooking; he acted on it, and Muzuki taught him.

Under Muzuki’s guidance, his cooking skills had indeed improved a lot, but compared to Muzuki, it could only be described as looking up at a high mountain.

“Hehe, just kidding, how could something like that happen?” Kushina chuckled.

“Minato, do you know? Muzuki’s reputation is huge now; he’s been given the title Raging Sun Mu Yue, and many people are discussing who among you is the strongest Ninja of Konoha’s younger generation.”

Minato nodded. Konoha’s extensive propaganda about Orochimaru and Muzuki’s great victory on the East Bank Battlefield was largely to boost morale, so even on another battlefield, Minato knew about Muzuki’s achievements on the East Bank Battlefield.

“Minato, have you fought Muzuki? Who is stronger between you?” Kushina’s gossip heart burned.

One was a very good friend, the other was her future husband, and they had many similarities. Kushina was truly curious about who among them was the strongest.

If it had been before, Kushina would have thought it was Minato Namikaze.

It wasn’t because of her preference for her boyfriend, but because Minato Namikaze’s strength was indeed very strong.

Although Minato Namikaze only became famous in the Ninja World after participating in the war for some time, Kushina knew very well that Minato Namikaze’s strength had always been formidable; he only became stronger through the trials of war, and then gained renown in the Ninja World by stepping on the reputations of others.

As for Muzuki, before he went to the East Bank Battlefield, Kushina had never heard of him defeating any enemies, nor had she seen Muzuki fight. Therefore, Kushina would certainly have believed Minato Namikaze’s strength was greater.

But now it was different. Many strong individuals had died at Muzuki’s hands, and he had even teamed up with Orochimaru to kill a Jinchuriki, clearly an extraordinary and powerful individual.

It was impossible to know the strength between strong individuals without a fight; too many factors could influence a battle, and one couldn’t simply compare intelligence to determine who was stronger.

“I haven’t fought Muzuki, so I can’t really say who’s stronger,” Minato Namikaze shook his head and replied.

If he had been present during Muzuki’s great battle on the East Bank Battlefield, then Minato Namikaze could have deduced the outcome of their fight.

But Minato Namikaze had only seen Muzuki fight once, and that was when they worked together against a Jinchuriki on the Land of Grass battlefield long ago.

That war was almost two years ago, and Muzuki had clearly made rapid progress in those two years, so the strength Muzuki displayed on the Land of Grass battlefield could not represent his current strength.

“However, Muzuki and I will have a practice battle soon. I’ll tell you the result after it’s done,” Minato Namikaze thought for a moment and said.

Kushina’s eyes sparkled, looking a bit excited, “Where are you planning to fight? I want to watch.”

“Don’t even think about it, it’s not possible,” Minato Namikaze subtly glanced towards the door.

Currently, Kushina’s maximum range of activity was the large barrier set up in the core area of the Leaf Village Main District. Before Kushina could completely block the Nine-Tailed Chakra interference, Kushina could not leave the barrier’s range.

Ninjas of Minato Namikaze and Muzuki’s level certainly couldn’t fight in the Main District; otherwise, the battle might be stopped by Anbu or Uchiha right at the beginning. Even if it wasn’t stopped, the destruction caused would bankrupt both of them.

With Minato Namikaze’s reminder, Kushina quickly realized this point and her face instantly fell, looking unhappy.

“This isn’t allowed, that isn’t allowed, it’s so annoying every day!” Kushina puffed out her cheeks and sat on the bed.

“There’s no helping it, Sandaime and the others are doing it for your own good,” Minato Namikaze walked to Kushina’s side, gently stroked her beautiful red hair, and said softly.

“When the time comes, I’ll try my best to describe the battle to you in detail.”

At this, Kushina’s expression improved slightly.

Then, Minato Namikaze shared some interesting anecdotes about his and Muzuki’s disciples with Kushina.

“Why does Obito only get stronger in terms of power and not in other ways?” Kushina laughed loudly and unreservedly.

Kushina had met Minato’s three disciples. Although she couldn’t leave the barrier, Obito and Kakashi could enter.

However, due to inconvenience, Kushina didn’t see them much and didn’t interact much with Obito and the others. Her impressions of them all came from Minato’s accounts.

After spending half an hour with Kushina, Minato Namikaze bid her farewell.

He would be very busy recently; otherwise, he wouldn’t have come to see Kushina only at noon. He had been busy with various matters all morning.

In the afternoon, an Anbu Ninja approached Muzuki.

“Captain Habsheng, I will now take you into the Anbu to collect some essential items for Anbu members,” the Anbu member wearing a cat-faced mask explained his purpose.

Although Muzuki’s position was somewhat symbolic, he was still a formal Anbu member, and the necessary procedures needed to be followed.

    Muzuki nodded and followed.

Actually, he was a Shadow Clone, but for such a small matter as collecting items, there was no need for his main body to appear.

When the two entered the Anbu base, Feitian Xinzhi removed his cat-faced mask and greeted Muzuki again, “Teacher Muzuki, I apologize. The journey here was part of a mission, so I couldn’t remove my mask.”

Anbu had very strict rules; normally, they had to wear masks while on missions.

So, even though Feitian Xinzhi was a Ninja previously trained by Muzuki and greatly respected him, he did not reveal his identity voluntarily, waiting until they reached the Anbu base to take off his mask.

“I understand, after all, you are Anbu,” Muzuki replied with a faint smile.

Actually, Muzuki recognized Feitian Xinzhi at first glance. Although a Shadow Clone couldn’t use Appraisal Technique, Muzuki remembered everyone he had taught, and he could tell it was Feitian Xinzhi by his physique.

Most of the Anbu Muzuki encountered next greeted him.

However, not all of them were Anbu trained by Muzuki; many had only heard of Muzuki’s deeds. After all, Muzuki had only taught fifteen Anbu members last time, and another fifteen were Root Ninjas.

Although he met many Anbu Ninjas, Muzuki did not see any important characters from the original story.

Muzuki thought about it, and indeed, he only remembered three original characters with Anbu identities: Kakashi, Yamato, and Uchiha Itachi.

Kakashi had changed quite a bit compared to the original story and might not become Anbu. Uchiha Itachi had only been born recently, and he didn’t know Yamato’s situation.

The Anbu members from the original story he was familiar with were not Anbu yet, so naturally, he wouldn’t see any familiar faces from the original story.

After collecting the items, Feitian Xinzhi led Muzuki to the Anbu Captain’s office.

“Captain Habsheng, please have a seat,” the Anbu Captain said, looking at Muzuki with a kind gaze.

Muzuki didn’t stand on ceremony and sat on one of the only two chairs in the office.

Feitian Xinzhi, on his own initiative, exited the office and closed the door.

“Let me introduce myself first, as I don’t have the same reputation as you, Captain Habsheng,” the Anbu Captain said with a friendly smile.

“I am Sarutobi Masanari, Anbu Captain.”

Looking at Sarutobi Masanari’s face, coupled with the Sarutobi surname, Muzuki vaguely guessed his identity.

“Captain Habsheng, I’ve admired you for a long time. Today, we finally have time to chat,” Sarutobi Masanari said with a smile.

Even before Muzuki became famous in the Ninja World for killing enemies on the battlefield, Sarutobi Masanari had heard many praises for Muzuki from Hiruzen Sarutobi and Asuma Sarutobi.

From his father Hiruzen Sarutobi, Muzuki was a super genius, the Ninja most suitable to inherit his legacy. From his younger brother Asuma Sarutobi, Muzuki was an unparalleled teacher, a perfect person without flaws.

Sarutobi Masanari could actually understand Asuma quite well. After all, Hiruzen Sarutobi was too strict, and suddenly encountering a teacher like Muzuki, who was both strong and easy to talk to, made it hard not to like and admire Muzuki.

However, what came from Hiruzen Sarutobi made Sarutobi Masanari a bit uncomfortable, because Hiruzen Sarutobi often compared him to Muzuki. Muzuki, in his eyes, was like someone else’s excellent child.

Originally, Sarutobi Masanari was somewhat unconvinced, as he was also an Anbu Captain, a high-ranking Anbu official.

Now, he had nothing to say. Muzuki was one of the great contributors who temporarily ended the East Bank Battlefield, and Sarutobi Masanari truly couldn’t compare.

“Here is the list of training personnel and related information for this time. Including Root Ninjas, there are forty people in total: twenty-five Anbu Ninjas and fifteen Root Ninjas,” Sarutobi Masanari said, handing the documents to Muzuki.

Since Root was nominally a subordinate organization of Anbu, Root’s information was submitted to Anbu and then given to Muzuki by Anbu.

Muzuki took it and quickly flipped through it. Among the forty people, half were Ninjas who had received training last time, and half had not.

Muzuki guessed that the Sandaime wanted some people to master the Darkness Breathing Technique, with the secondary goal of popularizing it.

After all, the former could accelerate the latter’s progress.

“Captain Habsheng, how is your training plan coming along? Can you reveal anything?” Sarutobi Masanari asked curiously.

The results of Muzuki’s previous Anbu training had astonished him. In just two and a half months, he had helped fifteen Anbu improve their overall strength.

He wasn’t very clear about the Root Ninjas’ improvements, but the fifteen Anbu Ninjas who received training from Muzuki performed very well afterwards.

“Currently, only new moves for the Darkness Breathing Technique are confirmed; other things are still being considered,” Muzuki thought for a moment and replied.

This time, he still planned to grind Breathing Technique and Nature Transformation experience, mainly because he had two needs: the development of Yang Release Breathing and increasing his Wood Release proficiency.

Among them, the development of Yang Release Breathing was the most crucial. He needed the ‘Improved Lecture Content Understanding’ from the Intermediate Lecture S-rank evaluation reward.

“There are even new moves for the Darkness Breathing Technique? It makes me want to join in,” Sarutobi Masanari said half-jokingly.

He had practiced the Darkness Breathing Technique according to the method Muzuki gave him and had managed to succeed, but his proficiency was not good.

Muzuki smiled without speaking. If Sarutobi Masanari really came, he would dare to teach him.

As the Anbu Captain, Sarutobi Masanari’s strength was definitely that of an elite Jonin, making him a very high-quality student.

The two didn’t chat for long before Sarutobi Masanari had something to do and left the office. Muzuki’s Shadow Clone didn’t stay long either and left the Anbu shortly after.

After walking some distance out of the Anbu base, the Shadow Clone dispelled itself, allowing its memories to flow back to the main body in the South Border Forest.

PS: Regarding Hiruzen Sarutobi’s eldest son, some say it’s Sarutobi Shinnosuke, but I couldn’t find the original source for this, so I made up a name.

Also, there’s another chapter coming soon~
