Chapter Index

“Then let’s take on the mission to subjugate the Sanchuan-cho bandits,” Muzuki said after thinking for a moment.

He had seen the map of the Land of Rivers. Compared to the capital, Sanchuan-cho was located closer to the Land of Wind, increasing the likelihood of encountering opportunities.

The Registration Ninja quickly completed the procedures and handed Muzuki a piece of paper.

“It’s that country from the last mission again,” Obito said, curiously leaning over to take a look.

“What’s wrong? Don’t you like the Land of Rivers?” Muzuki put away the documents and asked.

Obito scratched his right hand through his hair and replied, “I guess I don’t dislike it, it’s just that the Mayor from the last mission left a very bad impression on me, but there should be very few bad people like that.”

That Mayor from last time truly disgusted Obito. He found it hard to understand why people could be so bad. Wouldn’t it be better if everyone got along amicably?

“Such people should be punished by the Iron Fist of Youth!” Might Guy also remembered the Mayor from the last mission. It was the first time he realized how truly wicked a person could be.

He thought those who mocked his father were already going too far, but compared to what that Mayor did, it was nothing.

“It’s normal not to like such people. I don’t like them either,” Muzuki said with a smile, patting both of their heads as he led his disciples out of the Hokage Building.

There was one thing he didn’t say: there would definitely be no shortage of such people in this world, given it was a feudal system.

The reason Obito felt there were few such people was because he had grown up in Konoha. Konoha’s transcendent status and harmonious atmosphere had given Obito this misconception.

“Does anyone need to go back for anything? If so, hurry back and get it. We’ll depart directly after this,” Muzuki asked.

All three disciples shook their heads. Because Muzuki had reminded them yesterday, they had packed their belongings before coming.

“Then let’s depart now. The sooner we complete the mission, the sooner we can return,” Muzuki said directly.

“Is there no client this time?” Obito asked curiously.

“All missions naturally have clients, but the client isn’t in Konoha; they’re in the Land of Rivers,” Muzuki said.

Except for escort missions where the client is definitely in Konoha, clients for other missions don’t need to stay in Konoha; as long as the commission fee is paid, it’s fine.

Muzuki felt this was good. Having a client would slow down their travel speed. Without a client, they could rush there quickly.

“Let’s go, let’s go! I’m really looking forward to it. I wonder what kind of enemies we’ll encounter. We won’t run into the Raikage or Tsuchikage, will we? Just kidding.”

On his third mission, Obito began to fantasize about the enemies he would face this time.

Kakashi’s mouth twitched slightly; he almost couldn’t hold it in. They were going to subjugate bandits, not attack the Hidden Cloud Village or Iwagakure. Meeting the Raikage or Tsuchikage? Why not the Six Paths Sage?

“Even in your dreams, try to be a bit more reasonable. We need to deal with bandits, not Ninja Villages,” Kakashi couldn’t help but say.

“Since it’s a dream, why does it need to be reasonable? I said I was kidding. Although the mission is to subjugate bandits, encountering Ninja is normal, right? The last mission was to drive away wild beasts, and we still encountered Ninja,” Obito retorted.

Obito’s reply left Kakashi speechless. It was not normal at all to encounter Ninja on a C-Rank Mission.

However, considering that both of Obito’s only two C-Rank Missions had encountered unexpected situations, it was not surprising that he had such thoughts.

“You’ll know once you complete this mission. The first two times we were unlucky. It’s impossible for Ninja to appear on this mission again,” Kakashi said.

He felt that even if they were unlucky again, two consecutive C-Rank Missions with unexpected events should be over by now.

“My dear friend, don’t speak too definitively. Didn’t Muzuki-sensei say that it’s wartime now, and accidents are more likely to happen?” Might Guy said, stroking his chin.

Might Guy’s thoughts were the same as Obito’s: encountering Ninja on a mission was quite normal.

Kakashi didn’t say anything. He felt that Obito and Might Guy only had this misconception because they hadn’t done enough missions. Before joining Muzuki’s team, he had done dozens of C-Rank Missions without a single incident.

“Let’s travel at full speed. Before we leave the Land of Fire, everyone use your Breathing Technique to travel. If you can use Total Concentration Breathing, then use Total Concentration Breathing,” Muzuki said with a smile.

For Muzuki, taking on a C-Rank Mission was essentially just changing the location for his disciples’ training; the necessary training would not be reduced.

“Kakashi, how about we compete to see who can run faster and farther?” Obito challenged. He was very confident in this aspect because his Total Concentration Breathing was the strongest among the disciples, and Kakashi had only recently learned the Breathing Technique.

“No interest,” Kakashi replied indifferently. He saw through Obito’s little scheme at a glance.

“Burning youth should involve more competition! Obito, I’m in!” Might Guy said enthusiastically.

“Muzuki-sensei, can you be our referee?” Obito agreed and asked Muzuki.

Although he hadn’t lured Kakashi in, Might Guy had defeated Kakashi in a previous battle, so winning against Might Guy was, by extension, like defeating Kakashi.

Actually, Obito had wanted to have a practical sparring session with Kakashi a few days ago, but Muzuki had just started teaching Constant State. Obito thought he would complete the new training, become stronger, and then fight Kakashi. Right now, he wasn’t 100% confident he could defeat Kakashi.

Muzuki nodded with a smile, then shouted, “Ready, three, two, one, go!”

    “Rock Breathing, Total Concentration Breathing!”

    “Flame Breathing, Total Concentration Breathing!”

Obito and Might Guy instantly went all out, rushing forward like cannonballs shot from a gun.

Although Kakashi didn’t participate in the race, he also silently used his Breathing Technique to run at full speed.

Obito had a slightly faster start, but he was quickly overtaken by Might Guy and left behind.

“Damn it, I forgot that Guy’s Rock Breathing offers much stronger physical amplification.” Looking at the increasingly distant Might Guy, Obito finally remembered that Rock Breathing and Flame Breathing were not quite the same.

However, to win, Obito was determined. He put himself into the same state he used for practicing Constant State, striving to catch up.

“I need to quickly learn Thunder Breathing; I can’t fall too far behind,” Kakashi thought as he watched the two furiously running.

Although he had been defeated by Might Guy once, Kakashi did not want to remain defeated.

“Huff, huff, I miscalculated. Next time, I should challenge you to a Fire Release competition, Guy,” Obito said, breathing heavily.

Although he ran very hard, he simply couldn’t catch up to Might Guy. Might Guy’s stamina was much stronger than his.

“Well, that might take a long time, because I don’t know Fire Release at all right now,” Might Guy replied with a hearty laugh.

To compete in Fire Release, he would have to know it. None of the things he currently mastered had anything to do with fire.

After leaving the Land of Fire, Muzuki paused such extreme training. Although his strength could cover most situations, it was better to be cautious.
