Chapter Index

Shisui’s performance shocked the Uchiha present.

The impact of hearing others say that Shisui learned Ninjutsu quickly and was a genius, and personally witnessing Shisui defeat a Chunin before he was seven years old, were not on the same level.

In the Uchiha Clan, not just anyone could be called a genius, because they had too many excellent Ninja, so the outside world had the impression that at least Uchiha did not have poor grades, which is why the mediocre Obito was called the Uchiha dead last.

The strength Shisui displayed made all the Uchiha present believe he was a genius among geniuses.

“Shisui, your strength is already so great, why haven’t you graduated yet? Those teachers at the Ninja Academy can’t teach you anything useful anymore,” Uchiha Chihiro asked, a question that deeply puzzled him.

If Shisui had been a Genin, he would have been a bit more wary due to Obito’s fight.

The other Uchiha, hearing Uchiha Chihiro’s words, also looked at Shisui with curiosity. They, too, wondered why Shisui, with such strength, was still studying at the Ninja Academy.

“Graduating early allows you to manage your time more freely, and you can also join the Police Force to contribute to the clan,” Uchiha Chihiro said, listing the benefits of graduating and becoming a Ninja.

He truly felt that Shisui’s current strength was a waste of time at the Ninja Academy.

“I actually think there’s still some knowledge I need to learn at school. After all, I’ve only been there for a year, and combat isn’t the entirety of being a Ninja,” Shisui thought for a moment before replying.

He had previously considered graduating directly from the first year, but changed his mind after asking Muzuki for his opinion.

“What’s so good about those theoretical knowledge? Strength is the most important thing. If you have the power of the God of Shinobi, Senju Hashirama, even if you don’t master any knowledge, you can still become Hokage!” Uchiha Chihiro advised with a pained expression.

He truly couldn’t bear to see a genius like Shisui go astray, wasting time at the Ninja Academy learning such knowledge instead of quickly strengthening his power.

“Chihiro is right, Shisui, don’t pay too much attention to those theoretical classes. They’re useless. Powerful Ninjutsu and Taijutsu are the true path,” Uchiha Yoshizane said with a look of agreement.

Uchiha Yoshizane never cared about those so-called theoretical classes when he was in school. He only listened in class and never wasted time on theoretical knowledge outside of class.

He felt those courses were meaningless. What good was knowing history if you couldn’t change it? Learning difficult math wouldn’t make his Ninjutsu stronger.

“Because I feel that merely increasing strength won’t save the Uchiha Clan,” Shisui really wanted to say this, and then encourage everyone to learn more and gain wisdom.

But Shisui knew it wasn’t realistic. Because he was currently just an Uchiha genius, not an Uchiha powerhouse. Saying such words wouldn’t gain the approval of others; he would only be seen as strange.

“The premise of studying at the Ninja Academy is that it doesn’t affect my growth in strength,” Shisui thought for a moment and explained.

Shisui’s words left Uchiha Chihiro and Uchiha Yoshizane speechless, because Shisui was currently attending the Ninja Academy and could still defeat a Chunin.

The effect of showing talent and strength was significant. The number of people who came to communicate with Shisui suddenly increased, and they engaged in discussions with him.

While answering questions about cultivation, Shisui also took the opportunity to ask the questions he wanted to understand.

“The strange looks from others on the street? Who cares what they think? Maybe they’re just jealous of the Uchiha Clan’s strength,” an Uchiha replied, looking unconcerned.

“After all, we are the strongest noble clan in Konoha.”

This answer left Shisui a bit speechless, but he also made a mental note of it.

“How do you get along with your squad members after being assigned to a team? Shisui, are you worried that you won’t be able to get along with your teammates in the future?” The second Uchiha smiled.

“No one dislikes a strong teammate. Just be yourself. If you meet someone you don’t like, just ignore him.”

Shisui nodded. This clan member was relatively normal.

Shisui’s third person to converse with was Uchiha Inaho. Shisui asked:

“Senior Inaho, can you tell me about the work of the Police Force?”

As a department fully controlled by the Uchiha Clan, the affairs of the Police Force were the affairs of the Uchiha Clan.

“The work of the Police Force, ah, is mainly to maintain public order in the village and arrest those who violate regulations,” Uchiha Inaho thought for a moment and said simply.

Uchiha Inaho might have felt he explained too briefly, so he gave Shisui a few examples: setting up stalls in places where it’s not allowed, fighting in the streets, murderers who harm villagers—all of these fell under their jurisdiction.

“However, such major incidents are rare; mostly, they’re minor matters. But even minor matters must be handled seriously to establish authority, which makes subsequent actions easier,” Uchiha Inaho imparted to Shisui the experience he had learned from other Uchiha.

“Then the work of the Police Force isn’t easy,” Shisui sighed. The Police Force had to manage everything from small vendors to murderers.

“It’s alright, after all, everyone in the Police Force are clan brothers. If you want to relax, it’s simple,” Uchiha Inaho explained.

Shisui nodded, feeling that the Uchiha Clan’s current situation was strongly related to the Police Force.

It was completely normal for a single clan to control such a powerful department and be feared by others. After all, even the mighty Senju Clan before them didn’t monopolize a single department.

What worried Shisui was that the Uchiha seemed to take this for granted, believing that the powerful Uchiha Clan should solely control the Police Force.

Shisui tried to communicate with more Uchiha to gather their opinions. After briefly summarizing the information, he discovered good news and bad news.

The good news was that the younger Uchiha were not as extremist as he had imagined; no one was thinking of overthrowing Konoha and becoming Hokage themselves.

The bad news was that the Uchiha all loved the Police Force, which was composed entirely of their own clan brothers, and were even proud of it.

Additionally, there were some minor issues, such as most Uchiha not caring about outsiders and valuing strength far more than other things.

When the exchange meeting ended, Obito and Shisui were called by Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Yashiro.

“Uncle Fugaku, is there anything else?” Shisui, who was more familiar with Uchiha Fugaku, asked directly.

He just wanted to go home, organize all the information completely, and then go to Muzuki’s place to train.

Uchiha Fugaku smiled, motioned for them to sit down, and then said, “Nothing much, just wanted to chat with you two.”

“Shisui, when do you plan to graduate and become a Ninja?” Uchiha Fugaku asked.

The Ninja Academy had a special early graduation exam, which was a bit harder than the regular graduation exam, and it was prepared for geniuses like Shisui.

So, in Fugaku’s eyes, Shisui could become a Ninja whenever he wanted.

Shisui answered Fugaku with the same words he used to answer Uchiha Chihiro.

“I see. Given your current age, it’s fine to stay at the Ninja Academy for a bit longer,” Uchiha Fugaku smiled and nodded, not refuting Shisui’s words.

“Shisui, you possess extremely outstanding Ninja talent. In my opinion, your talent even surpasses Senior Kagami’s. When I saw you fighting just now, I instinctively recalled Senior Kagami’s high-spirited appearance,” Uchiha Fugaku praised.

Fugaku’s words strengthened Shisui’s inner conviction: he would accomplish what his grandfather could not.

“Uncle Yashiro, are you going to give me advanced Fire Release Ninjutsu?” Obito looked at Uchiha Yashiro with anticipation.

He attended the exchange meeting for nothing but the reward.

Uchiha Yashiro couldn’t help but smile at Obito’s straightforward expression. It was his first time seeing someone so directly ask him for advanced Fire Release.

“For a genius like you, the clan will naturally not be stingy. Fire Release Ninjutsu will definitely be given,” Uchiha Yashiro said with a smile.

“I’m very happy you listened to me. Keep training hard and maintain your progress.”

Obito scratched his hair, trying to recall what Uchiha Yashiro had said to him, but he couldn’t remember anything.

“Forget it, I’ll get the Fire Release Ninjutsu first,” Obito nodded earnestly so as not to affect the reward.

“With your current strength, passing the Chunin Exams is no longer a problem. You should become a Chunin as soon as possible, and the clan can directly arrange you into the Police Force after your application,” Uchiha Yashiro continued.

With Obito’s current strength, passing the Chunin Exams and becoming a Chunin was the fastest way to enter the Police Force.

“At that time, you can ask many seniors in the clan for guidance and learning, and I will also teach you all the Fire Release I know,” Uchiha Yashiro spoke of the benefits of joining the Police Force.

“I don’t want to join the Police Force. I prefer to go on missions outside the village and abroad,” Obito shook his head and said. Becoming a Chunin was not a problem, but he did not want to go to the Police Force.

Uchiha Yashiro was stunned. It was also his first time seeing an Uchiha refuse his Police Force invitation.

Uchiha Yashiro introduced some benefits of the Police Force to Obito: all colleagues were clan brothers, the promotion path was smooth, and they had great power.

Listening to Uchiha Yashiro’s difficult-to-understand words, Obito felt a headache coming on. He quickly stated that he was only interested in improving his strength right now, and steered the conversation back to Ninjutsu.

“So he’s the type who’s obsessed with cultivation,” Uchiha Yashiro speculated about Obito’s personality, and thus no longer dwelled on the Police Force matter.

Whether he joined the Police Force or not, Obito was still a Ninja of the Uchiha Clan; that couldn’t be changed.

“How about Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique? It’s very suitable for you at this stage,” Uchiha Yashiro thought for a moment and said.

“Ah, I already know Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique. Are there any other Ninjutsu?” Obito hoped for a different one.

Uchiha Yashiro fell into thought. Of course, there were advanced Fire Release Ninjutsu, but they were not suitable for Obito to use at the moment.

“I’ll have to think about this. Once the reward is decided, I’ll send it to your home,” Uchiha Yashiro said. He had to discuss it with Uchiha Fugaku.

Obito nodded. Although he didn’t know what Ninjutsu it would be, he had at least gotten a reward.

Since Shisui needed to organize the information, Obito went to the South Border Forest alone to train. The thought of Kakashi diligently training for several hours while he attended the exchange meeting made Obito involuntarily quicken his pace.

When Obito saw Kakashi performing Total Concentration Breathing exercises, he immediately joined the training and only rested and ate at one o’clock.

“I have to go out for a bit later. You two can train on your own for now,” Muzuki said.

Teacher Chen and his agreed meeting time was 2 PM this afternoon, and it was getting close to the appointed time.

“Is it about the Ninja Academy?” Obito asked curiously, as the Ninja Academy was about to start.

“No, it’s to have a discussion with Teacher Chen,” Muzuki shook his head and replied. He had left all the miscellaneous matters of the Ninja Academy to his Shadow Clone.

“Teacher Chen? Guy’s instructor, right?” Obito had some impression of that name because it had caused him to be mocked by Kakashi for being ignorant.

“Can I come along?” Obito wanted to see what Konoha’s strongest Taijutsu user looked like.

At this moment, Obito’s mind had already conjured up an image of a terrifying, muscular man, two meters tall, with explosive muscles all over his body.

Muzuki thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. It wasn’t a big deal.

Chapter 1, more to come later.
