Chapter 165 Kakashi Gains Knowledge
by Sunflower“Captain Habsheng, has anyone ever told you that your ability to conceal your presence is excellent?”
Kakashi turned around to find Muzuki had already sat down beside him without him noticing.
“Concealing oneself is a Ninja’s basic skill, you know,” Muzuki replied with a chuckle.
“Captain Habsheng, you know, don’t you? Konoha White Fang didn’t die in battle, he committed suicide. He was blamed by everyone for a failed mission and eventually took his own life,” Kakashi asked.
As he asked this, Kakashi didn’t look at Muzuki, but gazed indifferently at the river.
“Why would you admire a failed Ninja like White Fang?” Kakashi turned to look into Muzuki’s eyes and asked.
“If you say White Fang was a failed Ninja, then I don’t agree,” Muzuki didn’t answer the question, but denied Kakashi’s statement.
“Why isn’t he a failed Ninja? As a Ninja, a mission that could have been completed failed due to his personal reasons. Isn’t that a failure? Do you understand White Fang better than I do?” Kakashi retorted.
How could Muzuki, who had never exchanged a single word with his father, possibly understand his father better than he did?
“Perhaps so. My view is the opposite of yours. I believe White Fang was a Ninja who truly upheld his Ninjutsu,” Muzuki replied, shaking his head.
“What did he uphold? Isn’t the Ninja rule ‘mission first’?” Kakashi thought Muzuki was talking nonsense.
“Since you mentioned Ninja rules, do you know the origin of Ninjas?” Muzuki asked with a smile.
Kakashi thought carefully for a moment, then shook his head.
“Then do you know the Six Paths Sage?” Muzuki continued to ask.
“The legendary deity who created the Ninja World?” Kakashi knew a little about the Six Paths Sage.
“The Creator Deity is a legend, but the Six Paths Sage was indeed a real historical figure. The Six Paths Sage created the Shinobi Sect for world peace, hoping that all people could understand each other through the connection of Chakra. That’s how the existence of Ninjas came to be.”
“At that time, Ninjas didn’t have so-called Genin, Chunin, or Jonin, nor would there be missions involving killing or stealing secrets. Everyone’s common goal was world peace.”
“If you really want to talk about Ninja rules, then upholding peace is the Ninja rule. From that perspective, all Ninjas in the world currently violate the Ninja rules,” Muzuki explained.
This was truly not him talking nonsense. The origin of Ninjas in Hokage was different from his original world; they were truly born for peace. From this perspective, it was understandable why the major villains in Hokage kept shouting about creating a peaceful world, after all, the origin of Ninjas was for peace.
“Ninjas actually originated like this…” Kakashi looked at Muzuki with some surprise.
“I like to read history books in my spare time, so I know a bit more,” Muzuki smiled, pushing up his glasses.
He didn’t reveal anything too secret. Although there were very few historical records left about things like the Shinobi Sect, there were still some related accounts.
“It might be a bit much to demand that current Ninjas adhere to standards from a thousand years ago, but I believe Ninjas shouldn’t just be machines that complete missions; they should have their own thoughts.
Although White Fang’s mission failed, he successfully saved his teammates. He upheld the beliefs in his heart, so I believe Konoha White Fang was not a failed Ninja!” Muzuki said with a serious expression.
“Upholding one’s beliefs…” Kakashi felt a little dazed.
A few years ago, he seemed to have said something similar about comrades being the most important.
“Meet at the Training Ground at 1:30 PM. If you speak ill of White Fang again, I’ll get angry,” Muzuki said with a playful smile.
“Instructor Habsheng, don’t you know Konoha White Fang’s name?” Kakashi couldn’t help but ask.
It was too strange for him, the actual son, to be told by an outsider not to speak ill of his own father.
“Sakumo Hatake, of course I know,” Muzuki replied.
“Sakumo Hatake, Kakashi Hatake, could it be…” Muzuki put on a thoughtful expression.
“Actually, Kakashi, are you a relative of White Fang?”
Kakashi:…
For a moment, he truly didn’t know if Muzuki was doing it on purpose or genuinely hadn’t guessed. If it was the former, then he truly had a wicked sense of humor.
“Just kidding, I know you’re White Fang’s child. Don’t be late this afternoon,” Muzuki said with a smile.
To pretend not to know would be underestimating Kakashi’s intelligence too much. A Chunin and two trainees mixed together, and the two were familiar acquaintances. Kakashi should have been able to guess that it was a special arrangement by the Sandaime.
Looking at Muzuki’s departing back, Kakashi’s eyes flickered.
“Longing for father, was this specially arranged by the Sandaime?” Kakashi wondered.
Then Kakashi went to the library, heading straight for the history section. After flipping through many ancient books, Kakashi indeed found some history related to the Shinobi Sect, though it was very sparse and the information was highly fragmented.
This dispelled some of Kakashi’s suspicions; he had initially thought it was a story Muzuki made up to comfort him.
At 1:30 PM, Kakashi arrived at Training Ground 22 on time.
“Kakashi, you’re early! Want to have an handstand competition?” Might Guy, who was already at the Training Ground doing handstand exercises, asked.
“No thanks, I refuse.” Kakashi, who had been reading all morning, didn’t want to engage in a boring competition.
By 1:40 PM, Obito rushed over, panting heavily while explaining the reason for his lateness.
Due to what he had seen in the morning, Kakashi didn’t question Obito’s words this time.
“This morning we completed three missions in total. How many do you think we can do this afternoon?” Muzuki asked with a smile.
Although each mission only yielded thirty points, every little bit helped, so it was better to earn as much as possible.
“Five!” Obito declared boldly.
“Then let’s set the target at five,” Muzuki decided.
Next, to save time, Muzuki directly accepted three missions at the beginning. Normally, this wouldn’t be allowed, but seeing how efficient Muzuki’s team was in the morning, the registrar let them take them.
This time, Muzuki had Obito’s team work together. With Obito’s connections, Kakashi’s efficiency, and Might Guy’s powerful physique, the three completed missions at a rapid pace.
The three missions were completed in less than two hours with their cooperation.
By 6:00 PM, Muzuki’s squad had completed seven D-Rank missions, exceeding their target.
Obito and Might Guy were happy with their good rewards, and Muzuki was also in a good mood, having gained three hundred Chakra.
The only one who probably didn’t feel much was Kakashi; he planned to continue researching after dismissal.
“Everyone performed very well today. Tomorrow morning, we won’t do missions yet; we’ll train at the Training Ground,” Muzuki said.
He wanted to try taking Kakashi as his disciple. That way, he would have an additional source of income from future missions; otherwise, he always felt like he was losing out.
