Chapter 127 Emergency Meeting of the Jonin
by SunflowerThe next day, Obito continued to send his Shadow Clone to the Ninja Academy, while his main body went to the South Border Forest to cultivate.
Although the feelings from class would eventually return, he still had to cultivate.
“I can’t lose to Guy again in the Grade Level Practical Exam a month from now!” Obito thought to himself.
He had lost many times and won very few times in his battles with Might Guy. Obito was unwilling to accept this because they were both Muzuki’s disciples and received similar training. How could Obito admit defeat?
Furthermore, Obito had never taken first place in a Grade Level Practical Exam before. He felt that this was incomplete, and he would lack confidence when arguing with Kakashi.
“Become an excellent Ninja by starting with taking first place in the Grade Level Practical Exam!” Obito shouted with great fighting spirit.
Although Shisui, who was beside him, couldn’t empathize, he still said, “Good luck.”
“Perceive the flame, understand the power of the flame.” Shisui recalled Muzuki’s key points for perception, while simultaneously using the Breathing Technique and beginning his Fire Release Chakra Nature Transformation.
Since his Breathing Technique was not yet proficient and required intense focus, Shisui made several mistakes before succeeding in doing both at the same time.
Perceiving that the leaf in his palm had turned to black ash, Shisui lightly shook his hand and didn’t feel anything special.
Shisui hadn’t expected to complete the cultivation in one go. After all, Might Guy, who started first, was still stuck at the step of perceiving elemental power. Shisui continued his Nature Transformation practice.
Simultaneously performing Nature Transformation and the Breathing Technique quickly drained Shisui’s energy and stamina. During his rest, Shisui wasn’t idle, using Fire Release to ignite wood to continue sensing the flames.
Although somewhat crude, this method was indeed direct enough.
By the time Muzuki’s main body arrived at noon, Shisui hadn’t perceived anything yet.
When Muzuki arrived, he first used Appraisal Technique on both of them. Their proficiency hadn’t changed for now, both were fifteen points.
“Let’s cultivate later, let’s eat first.” Muzuki said with a smile.
The happiest part of the day now made Obito a little scared. There was nothing he could do; the spiciness of those two meals was still fresh in his memory.
“If it’s spicy, then it’s spicy. The first meal isn’t a big problem.” Obito deftly took the bento box.
According to his experience, the first meal was fine, but the subsequent ones would be a big problem.
As Obito expected, the bento box opened to reveal a sea of red, with bright red chilies filling his vision.
“So spicy, so delicious!” Obito shouted about the spiciness while vigorously eating his meal.
Because the food Muzuki made was simply too delicious, he found it hard to refuse even if it was very spicy.
How should one describe that feeling? It was like someone trying to lose weight thinking they’d eat a little less this meal, but then they ate their favorite dish, and unknowingly, the goal of eating a little less became ‘just don’t eat until you’re stuffed.’
As he continued to devour his meal, Obito’s eyes became a little dazed, immersed in the illusion of fire.
After he sobered up, Obito quickly finished the remaining food, then immediately began cultivating Flame Breathing, not wasting a single moment.
The Ninja Academy’s lunch break was very short, and Muzuki’s main body didn’t stay long before returning to the Ninja Academy for class.
After finishing his meal, Shisui also quickly began cultivating. Although the dishes with a lot of chili had a unique flavor, he couldn’t handle eating them every day.
After school in the afternoon, Muzuki first went back to cook, but what he didn’t expect was that an emergency Jonin meeting was called.
“It’s all those Kumogakure barbarians’ fault. How long has it been? This is the third Jonin meeting called.” Kushina believed it was all Kumogakure’s fault.
Muzuki couldn’t comment. The war was indeed started by Kumogakure, but he felt that Kushina still had a bit of personal emotion involved.
“Muzuki, you’re a Special Jonin now, so you need to attend the meeting too. Let’s go together.” Minato invited with a smile.
“Mm, it’ll be troublesome for you two seniors to show me around.” Muzuki nodded and said jokingly.
Immediately after, Muzuki’s main body went to the Hokage Building for the meeting with Minato and Kushina, sending a Shadow Clone to deliver food to Shisui and Obito.
On the way to the Hokage Building, Minato thoroughly explained the Konoha Jonin meeting to Muzuki.
Under normal circumstances, the Jonin meeting was held twice a year, in January and June.
Moreover, emergency Jonin meetings and regularly scheduled Jonin meetings were not held in the same meeting room.
Regularly scheduled Jonin meetings were held in a standard meeting room with many tables and chairs.
Emergency Jonin meetings, however, were held in an empty room with only four chairs.
Muzuki, Minato, and Kushina arrived neither early nor late. Some Ninja had already arrived in the meeting room, but not many.
Although Minato had not yet become the famous Yellow Flash, as Jiraiya’s disciple, he was considered to have a promising future, and many Jonin greeted Minato.
As a new Jonin, few people knew Muzuki, so not many people greeted him, but Muzuki was happy to be at leisure. He was frantically using Appraisal Technique to collect information on Konoha Jonin.
Although the Appraisal Technique’s potential assessment was a bit rigid, it was still very good to know Chakra levels and Ninjutsu.
“Name: Hyuga Hizashi”
“Chakra: 23000”
“Skills: Gentle Fist (Proficiency: 2900/3000)…”
“Potential: S (Basic Talent + Hamura Bloodline)”
Muzuki then looked at Hyuga Hizashi’s older brother, Hyuga Hiashi, and found that their data was similar, both S potential, but Hyuga Hizashi had more Chakra, while Hyuga Hiashi mastered more Hyuga Taijutsu.
The Hizashi and Hiashi brothers were the weakest adult S-potential holders Muzuki had ever seen.
Though both were S potential, Minato was five years younger than the Hyuga brothers, yet the Hyuga brothers together wouldn’t last three minutes against Minato.
“The bloodline gives them too much of a boost.” Muzuki thought to himself. If he were to grade the two brothers, he wouldn’t even give them S-, at most A+.
The Six Paths siblings’ bloodline could boost potential very high, but ordinary people found it difficult to unleash this potential and realize it.
As time passed, Muzuki saw more and more Jonin.
Anyone from the Hyuga or Uchiha clans had at least A potential, with the high ones being S-rank. Muzuki even saw an S+ that he had never seen before.
“Name: Uchiha Fugaku”
“Chakra: 31000”
“Skills: Fire Release Chakra Nature Transformation (Mastery: 20/15000)…”
“Potential: S+ (Basic Talent + Six Paths Bloodline)”
Undoubtedly, Fugaku’s S+ also needed to be discounted. He also hadn’t realized the boost from the Six Paths bloodline into strength, because Fugaku was four years older than the Hyuga brothers, and a full nine years older than Minato.
During this Jonin meeting, Muzuki truly saw quite a few high-potential duds, mostly from the Hyuga and Uchiha clans. Other Jonin generally had A or B potential.
“Cough, cough.” Seeing that most people had arrived, Hiruzen Sarutobi lightly coughed and said, “The meeting begins.”
There will be more later
