Chapter Index

“What do you all think of the summer special training Muzuki organized?” After watching the test, Hiruzen Sarutobi stroked his goatee and asked the Chunin teachers who came to observe with a smile.

“It’s too powerful. I feel like the students’ improvement in this month-plus of training is much greater than what they achieve in a normal semester of classes,” Ikeya Yu exclaimed.

His praise wasn’t entirely due to his good relationship with Muzuki; he genuinely felt that Muzuki’s special training was remarkably effective.

He was the homeroom teacher for Class 2, Grade 4, and students from Groups A, B, and C were all his students. Recalling their strength before participating in the special training, he truly felt it was somewhat incredible.

Ordinary students like Nakamori Gōichi improved to ‘good,’ while those who were already good became ‘excellent.’ Every single student showed improvement.

“It feels very suitable for Fourth Grade students who are about to graduate. If more similar special training sessions are held, then our Konoha Genin will be even more outstanding in the future,” Kimura Sugito said after some thought.

In fact, improving the strength of Genin has a very significant meaning: it allows Genin to more quickly become capable of taking on higher-reward missions.

Considering the Genin’s strength, to safely nurture Ninja, newly graduated Genin normally have a restriction; initially, they can only undertake miscellaneous tasks such as picking up trash, catching cats, or weeding.

If the quality of Genin improves in the future, then this restriction might be relaxed somewhat.

The higher the reward for a mission, the more difficult it is, and the more difficult the mission, the more training one receives. This can form a virtuous cycle, accelerating the overall training speed.

Even Raido Namiashi’s teacher changed his view of Muzuki, constantly praising Muzuki’s excellent teaching skills.

The facts were laid out; there was no need for baseless speculation. Anyone with eyes could see Muzuki’s teaching achievements over this past month.

“I’m just teaching to the best of my ability. The students’ progress is inseparable from their own efforts,” Muzuki said with a gentle smile.

“Special training is much more tiring than regular schooling. There are eight hours of training alone each day, so it’s not easy for the students to persevere,” Muzuki sighed.

Muzuki did not attribute all of the students’ progress to himself, but rather began to praise the students’ efforts.

On one hand, Hiruzen Sarutobi and the teachers had already seen his achievements and praised him a lot, so he didn’t need to praise himself.

On the other hand, the students really weren’t having an easy time. His classes weren’t like physical education classes in his previous life, where a little exercise would lead to free dispersal and wandering around.

The teaching skill only made it easier for students to absorb what Muzuki taught; it wasn’t a power-up device. If students didn’t study and didn’t work hard, having the teaching skill would be useless.

“No matter what, Muzuki, you’ve given me a great surprise this time. The students’ progress is tangible, and I’ve seen it with my own eyes,” Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a smile.

“Your summer special training has set an excellent example for everyone and is a new direction for improving the strength of graduating Genin.”

“Given Hayate Mugetsu’s strong teaching ability, outstanding work performance, and extreme diligence… he is hereby promoted to Special Jonin!” Hiruzen Sarutobi said to Muzuki with a hearty laugh.

Hiruzen Sarutobi handed a scroll to Muzuki, smiling kindly and patting Muzuki’s shoulder as he said:

“Jonin Mutsuki, I hope you continue to work hard in the future to cultivate the next generation for Konoha. The future of Konoha rests on you young people.”

The promotion to Special Jonin was something Hiruzen Sarutobi had agreed upon with Muzuki from the very beginning. As long as Muzuki could achieve results with this summer special training, he would be promoted to Special Jonin.

In fact, when Muzuki submitted the performance data to Hiruzen Sarutobi, Hiruzen Sarutobi had already decided to promote Muzuki.

So, everything for his promotion was prepared in advance; as long as no problems arose, he would promote Muzuki on the spot.

Promotions to Jonin and Special Jonin are said to be very difficult, requiring many missions, accumulated merits, extraordinary talents, and superhuman strength.

But in truth, it can also be simple. In fact, if Hiruzen Sarutobi wished, he could directly promote a Genin to Jonin.

Having been in the Hokage position for decades, he possessed unquestionable authority; no one would challenge his decisions.

However, for the sake of Konoha’s credibility and the value of a Jonin, Hiruzen Sarutobi would certainly not casually promote a Ninja to Jonin.

“Thank you, Sandaime-sama, for your high regard. I will devote all my energy to instructing students and cultivating even stronger Ninja for Konoha,” Muzuki said, taking the scroll with both hands, a look of gratitude on his face.

Although he didn’t feel anything special internally, since so many people were present, he had to express his gratitude properly.

“Jonin…” Ikeya Yu’s eyes widened, and he looked at Muzuki with envy.

Even a Special Jonin is still a Jonin, a high-ranking member among Ninja, able to participate in Jonin meetings to discuss various important matters.

There were only two Jonin among all the Ninja Academy teachers combined: the class president of the teacher’s class was a Jonin, the vice-president was a Special Jonin, and all other department heads, like grade directors and office directors, were Chunin.

Seeing Muzuki, who was several years younger than him and had only recently become a Ninja Academy teacher, become a Special Jonin, Ikeya Yu couldn’t help but feel envious.

If he were a Special Jonin, chasing girls would probably be a bit easier.

“He got promoted so quickly.” Ueda Aya was also very surprised. Although she knew that with Muzuki’s teaching level he would eventually be promoted, she didn’t expect it to happen so soon.

Thinking about it carefully, it was quite reasonable. He had led Class 1, Grade 1 to such absurd results and also pioneered the summer special training to improve the strength of graduating students.

The Chunin teachers all looked at Muzuki with incredibly envious eyes.

However, it was only envy. After all, Muzuki’s achievements were undeniable; if it were them, they truly wouldn’t be confident in achieving such results.

Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded inwardly after seeing Muzuki’s and the other Chunin’s expressions.

Promoting Muzuki directly to Special Jonin would not only make Muzuki especially grateful to him, but other Chunin would also believe that the Third Hokage appointed the capable, and would work harder in their teaching in the future in pursuit of promotion.

This was a good thing that could achieve multiple benefits with just a little preparation in advance.

“Hey, what are the students gathered around there for?” a teacher asked curiously.

“It must be my Shadow Clone announcing the results after compiling them. The last one will compare the final results with the initial group test scores, allowing students to see their progress more intuitively,” Muzuki explained with a smile.

Except for the very special Group A, Groups B and C followed the grade standard from beginning to end.

“Let’s go see the students’ progress too,” Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a smile, leading the teachers over.

Muzuki also followed beside Hiruzen Sarutobi, displaying a genuine smile.

Unlike his initial expression of gratitude, this time his smile was from the heart.

However, his smile wasn’t because of the Special Jonin position, but because the system’s rewards had arrived, and there were more than he had imagined.

“Under your guidance, students participating in the summer special training have improved in Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, and their overall strength has increased.”

“Reward received: Chakra +800, Ninjutsu Proficiency Scroll, Combination Ninjutsu (Proficient Level).”

The rewards from the summer special training were all incredibly useful to him.

Chakra, needless to say, he could never have too much of it. The Ninjutsu Proficiency Scroll could be used for Ninjutsu he wanted to further refine or for high-difficulty Ninjutsu, and Combination Ninjutsu would further enhance his output capabilities, having mastered a large number of Ninjutsu.

And the rewards weren’t just for the summer special training’s improvements; Muzuki continued to look at the system notifications below.

“Disciple Uchiha Shisui diligently trained and achieved perfect results in the summer special training, receiving a reward: Chakra +200.”

“Disciple Uchiha Obito diligently trained and achieved excellent results in the summer special training, receiving a reward: Chakra +150.”

“Disciple Might Guy diligently trained and achieved excellent results in the summer special training, receiving a reward: Chakra +150.”

Another five hundred Chakra added to his account.

Looking at the exam results that appeared, Muzuki could only say that the system’s bug was indeed hard to exploit.

His guess was half right and half wrong. The exams he set up did indeed trigger system exam rewards, but there were trigger conditions he didn’t know about.

It might be the interval between exams, or it might be the students’ improved strength during the exam. Muzuki couldn’t determine which factor it was right away.

However, since there were rewards, exams could still be held, but taking an exam every few days to farm system rewards would definitely not work.

With a direct increase of 1,300 Chakra, an increase of half a unit of Chakra, Muzuki was naturally delighted from the bottom of his heart.

Muzuki opened his panel to check his latest attributes.

    “Name: Hayate Mugetsu”

    “Chakra: 15300”

Muzuki’s total Chakra amount had now reached the level of six’small cards’.

Muzuki could only say that the summer special training was truly excellent. He had originally prepared for a decrease in Chakra growth rate after the holidays, but due to the summer special training, the actual growth even exceeded that during school.

In just over a month, his Chakra increased by a full 3,250 points. It’s important to remember that this was the increase without the training mission settlement, and Muzuki hadn’t even calculated the benefits of acquiring Ninjutsu.

The increased Chakra had many components, with the largest being the improvement settlement and exam settlement. Other sources included class rewards, disciple returns, and apprentice-to-master Chakra returns. Additionally, Muzuki’s natural Chakra growth also increased this month.

Chakra is synthesized from physical energy and spiritual energy. Ever since mastering Rock Breathing, with the Constant State’s boost, Muzuki’s physique had been slowly strengthening every day, so his naturally growing Chakra also increased.

Muzuki estimated that his Chakra might break through the 20,000 mark even before the next semester ended.

“You’ve improved so much, from twelve points to twenty-three points.”

“Hehe, yours isn’t bad either, from fifteen points to twenty-five points.”

When Muzuki and the others passed by, the students were cheerfully discussing their progress with their companions.

Comparing data indeed showed progress very intuitively, and the teachers exclaimed in admiration once again.

After reviewing the scores, Muzuki gathered the students for a final speech.

“Are you all satisfied with your improved scores?” Muzuki asked with a smile.

    “Satisfied!”

“I never expected to improve so much in five weeks…”

“Muzuki-sensei, you’re amazing! I never thought improving my strength would be so simple.”

The students answered Muzuki’s question, all speaking at once. While their exact words might have differed, the sentiment they expressed was one of great satisfaction.

“It seems everyone is pleased with their improvements. However, I want to say that the most important factor in these improvements is your own hard work. If you continue to maintain this effort, you will all become excellent Ninja in the future,” Muzuki said with a serious expression.

This was probably the greatest kindness he had shown his students in over a month.

It wasn’t to boost his favorability rating to increase training efficiency, nor was it to push students to train harder through various methods to earn rewards. It was simply a genuine hope that these children would grow stronger and survive the future great war.

Having transmigrated less than five months ago, Muzuki had no sense of belonging to Konoha; he only wanted to increase his strength and remove the cursed seal on his body.

But he felt that anyone who had received a modern education would not have the heart to watch children around ten years old fight on the battlefield.

Unfortunately, Muzuki himself was like a clay Buddha crossing a river, barely able to protect himself. While busy developing, he also had to worry about Danzo, that old schemer, discovering something. No matter how much he wished otherwise, it was useless.

With Hiruzen Sarutobi, his highest superior, present, Muzuki, after finishing his speech, thoughtfully invited Hiruzen Sarutobi to also speak.

“Actually, before coming today, I was a bit worried. But after seeing the progress of you children, I am relieved,” Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a benevolent smile.

“Seeing that the new generation of the Village is working so hard, I am deeply comforted, because the struggles and sacrifices of our predecessors were not in vain; the Village continues to grow strong.”

As he spoke, Hiruzen Sarutobi uttered the famous saying of The Will of Fire.

“Where the leaves dance, the fire burns bright. The light of the fire will continue to illuminate the Village and make new leaves sprout.”

“You are Konoha’s new leaves. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing you grow,” the Third Hokage said with a full smile, holding a pipe in his right hand and his left hand behind his back.

Muzuki stood behind the Third Hokage, facing the students with a gentle smile.

He recalled a saying: “That year, at eighteen, I stood like a minion.”

After the Third Hokage finished speaking, it was truly time for the event to end and for them to disperse.

However, the students did not disperse immediately. Instead, they held onto Muzuki, not letting him leave, and blindfolded him, saying they had a surprise for him.

After using a perception Ninjutsu to scan the surroundings, Muzuki allowed the students to push him along.

    “Ta-da! A super-large five-tier cake!”

Accompanied by Anko’s energetic voice, Muzuki’s vision was restored. He saw himself surrounded by students, and in front of him was a giant cake only slightly shorter than him. On top of the cake were eighteen Kunai-shaped desserts, and the cake was also covered with countless small candles.

“Muzuki-sensei, thank you for your guidance this past month!” the students said in unison.

Among these more than three hundred students, actually, more than half were not very familiar with Muzuki before the special training began. Some had only had him teach one class, while others might have only heard of Muzuki’s reputation.

But in the over a month they spent with Muzuki, they all grew to like this teacher, who had strong teaching abilities and was incredibly gentle.

When they were first grouped, many students were quite disappointed with Muzuki, feeling that he was also the kind of teacher who would treat students differently based on their grades, gathering the poorer and average students together and letting them fend for themselves.

But they quickly realized they were wrong. The grouping was not to favor the good students, but simply to arrange teaching more reasonably.

Although Group A was mostly composed of excellent students from various classes, Muzuki did not show favoritism towards Group A. One Shadow Clone took care of one group, while his main body rotated among the three groups, ensuring no group received more care than another.

Every student received guidance from Muzuki’s main body. Even if they didn’t proactively ask Muzuki questions, Muzuki would actively approach them to teach if he saw something.

Muzuki could accurately call out each of their names, instead of saying, ‘Hey, you, what did you do wrong?’

Muzuki said the students were working hard, but the students knew Muzuki worked harder than them.

Muzuki taught while they trained. During breaks, Muzuki rarely rested, taking the opportunity to explain theoretical knowledge related to training.

No matter how tired they were, they were only one person training, while Muzuki’s main body not only rotated among the three groups to teach, but also had to create three Shadow Clones to fill in the gaps when his main body was absent. He truly worked as four people.

Excellent students might not have felt it as deeply, but the average and struggling students, who were rarely cared for by other teachers, truly felt the warmth from a teacher in Muzuki.

What they hadn’t received from ordinary teachers, they unexpectedly received from the renowned excellent teacher, which genuinely surprised the students.

This was the greatest motivation for many students to work hard; they couldn’t possibly disappoint such a good Muzuki-sensei.

“The cake was bought by everyone pooling their money. The eighteen Kunai are because Muzuki-sensei is eighteen this year, and there are a total of three hundred and fifty-nine candles on it; everyone put in one…” Obito enthusiastically explained the students’ sentiments to Muzuki.

Looking at the innocent smiling faces around him, Muzuki’s eyes flickered, feeling a stir in his heart.

Students of this age are pure; if you are good to them, they will be good to you.

Even if they don’t know what the true intentions are of the person who is good to them.

“Once I have enough ability, I should do some things within my power,” Muzuki thought to himself.

Even though this world was rotten, there were still many lovely people.

“Teacher has received your thoughtfulness. You’ve truly gone to a lot of trouble,” Muzuki said with a brilliant smile, like the warm sun.

“It’s no trouble, if Muzuki-sensei is willing to become the homeroom teacher of Class 6, Grade 4, then it’s no trouble,” Shiranui Genma chuckled.

“That’s right, Muzuki-sensei, become the homeroom teacher of Class 3, Grade 4! That way we can often be taught by you, Muzuki-sensei.”

    “Class 1, Grade 4 too.”

The students of Class 2, Grade 4 smiled without speaking, confident that as long as Ikeya Yu was there, Muzuki-sensei was essentially their subject teacher.

“No, no, that’s absolutely not allowed! Muzuki-sensei can only be the homeroom teacher of Class 1, Grade 1!” Anko shielded Muzuki, looking cautiously at the surrounding students.

“Let’s all share the cake. If I were to eat this whole cake by myself, you probably wouldn’t see your Muzuki-sensei again,” Muzuki said with a relaxed smile.

Hearing Muzuki’s words, the students temporarily paused their dispute over Muzuki’s ownership and began to line up for cake.

Muzuki found it too slow to do it alone, so he directly created several Shadow Clones to help cut.

“The only right thing the old man did this year was to invite Muzuki-sensei to be a private tutor,” Asuma thought as he ate cake.

Since the students came from different family backgrounds, those with money contributed more, and those without contributed less or offered their labor. Asuma directly contributed most of his saved pocket money, being the one who paid the most.

Next, they ate cake and chatted, sharing interesting stories that happened during training.

“Big Brother Ebisu, I have good news for you,” Kotetsu Hagane excitedly said to Ebisu.

“What good news?” Ebisu asked, a bit dejectedly, still unable to figure out why he had been criticized.

“Your genius reputation has reached the Hokage!” Kotetsu Hagane replied.

“Big Brother Ebisu, this time you really have to treat Kotetsu to something. This time, he bravely ran into the pile of teachers to achieve this result,” Izumo Kamizuki also said with a smile.

“What genius reputation?” Ebisu felt a bad premonition. A very terrifying answer vaguely formed in his mind, and he also found the reason for his inexplicable scolding.

“It was like this: I heard Muzuki-sensei mention my name, and Hokage-sama was right next to Muzuki-sensei, so I deliberately shouted out your name, Big Brother Ebisu, the main contributor to perfecting the Enemy Confusion Technique,” Kotetsu Hagane said proudly.

“But Big Brother Ebisu, you don’t need to worry about it. Consider it a repayment for your guidance to us,” Kotetsu Hagane said magnanimously.

“In front of the Hokage…” Ebisu’s face turned pale. It seemed his path as a Ninja was about to end before it even began.

“Big Brother Ebisu, why aren’t you smiling? Don’t you like to smile?” Izumo Kamizuki felt that Ebisu was a bit off.

    His fists clenched, hard.

“I really should treat you two to something. I’ll treat you to cake!” Ebisu completely lost his composure, smearing the unfinished cake on both their faces.

This then triggered a chain reaction, leading to a cake fight.

Although everyone ended up quite messy, most people had a great time.

“Everyone, there’s no need to be too sad. I’m not stopping teaching at the Ninja Academy. If you encounter any problems, you can still come ask me. I will always be everyone’s Muzuki-sensei,” Muzuki said at the end.

Muzuki was in a very good mood today. His Chakra had a small increase, and he had received what could be considered his second gift since his transmigration.

On the way back, Asuma saw the Third Hokage waiting for him.

Asuma remembered Muzuki’s earlier words, felt a bit touched, and then said, “How do you think my battle went today?”

“Too many mistakes. If it were me, I would have over a hundred ways to win,” Hiruzen Sarutobi said, shaking his head.

Asuma’s face darkened, and he walked past Hiruzen Sarutobi’s figure directly home.

This shouldn’t be too short, I wrote it all in one go. I have two more small chapters coming up.
