Chapter 12: Personality is a good thing
by SunflowerIn the morning, Kotetsu Hagane quickly finished washing up, ate breakfast, and rushed to school.
“You woke up quite early today, why the hurry?” his mother asked, puzzled.
“Of course, to go to school early and study,” Kotetsu Hagane replied without looking back.
This was just a perfunctory lie to his mother; while Kotetsu Hagane didn’t dislike school, he wasn’t particularly fond of it either, because not all teachers lectured as vividly and interestingly as Muzuki.
The real reason Kotetsu Hagane was anxious to go to school was his urgent desire to know if his good brother, Izumo Kamizuki, had taken the first step in his romantic endeavors.
He had given Izumo Kamizuki the idea on Thursday, but on Friday, Izumo Kamizuki said he hadn’t dared to and needed more time to prepare.
Kotetsu Hagane figured two days over the weekend should be enough for him to prepare.
When Kotetsu Hagane arrived in the classroom, there weren’t many people yet, and Izumo Kamizuki hadn’t arrived either.
However, Izumo Kamizuki didn’t make him wait long; after about seven or eight minutes, he saw Izumo Kamizuki walk in listlessly.
“Izumo, did you not sleep well last night?” Kotetsu Hagane asked, puzzled.
Izumo Kamizuki shook his head.
“Did you give her the flowers over the weekend?” Kotetsu Hagane asked enthusiastically.
“Sigh, don’t even mention it,” Izumo Kamizuki’s expression grew even more dejected upon hearing Kotetsu Hagane’s words.
“She was looking at our family’s flower garden not because she likes flowers, but because she has pollen allergies and was worried the pollen would blow over.”
Kotetsu Hagane was silent for a moment after hearing this news, then asked, “So, did you give her the flowers?”
Izumo Kamizuki didn’t answer Kotetsu Hagane’s question, but his silence and the resentful expression on his face had silently answered Kotetsu Hagane’s question.
Kotetsu Hagane patted Izumo Kamizuki’s shoulder and comforted him:
“It’s alright, I remember a cute girl who plays with Mihui; how about we hang out sometime and get to know her?”
“That would be great, Brother Tetsu!” Izumo Kamizuki’s gloomy mood vanished, and he instantly beamed, saying.
“Over the weekend, I thought of another brilliant plan to help you deal with your cousin.”
“That’s excellent! Quick, tell me what kind of brilliant plan it is.”
“Class begin!”
Muzuki’s voice reached their ears, and only then did they realize class had started; they had been so engrossed in their conversation that they hadn’t noticed the class bell.
So, the two quickly sat up straight and began to listen to the lecture; after two days without Muzuki’s class, they actually missed it.
Muzuki did not disappoint them; the class was relaxed and enjoyable, and imperceptibly, much knowledge filled their minds.

【Reward: Water Release: Water Severing Wave】
Seeing that the reward was Water Severing Wave, Muzuki’s eyes immediately lit up; this Ninjutsu was not simple.
This was a Water Release developed by the Second Hokage, capable of spewing a super-high-pressure linear water jet with astonishing power, even capable of severing the roots of the Divine Tree.
Muzuki was in a very good mood after getting a good drop, and then another good thing happened immediately.
“Teacher Muzuki, I remember you don’t have class this afternoon, could you please substitute for me? I have a Ninjutsu class for Class 2, Grade 4 this afternoon.”
Inside the office, Ikeya Yu walked over to Muzuki, hoping Muzuki could substitute for him again.
“Substituting is no problem, Teacher Ikeya, are you feeling unwell?” Although happy to receive another reward, Muzuki had to maintain his persona and asked with a worried expression.
“I’m fine, thank you for your concern, Teacher Habsheng.” Ikeya Yu first thanked Muzuki, then explained:
“It’s about the blind date from before; I made plans to go shopping with her this afternoon.”
“Then why didn’t you pick a time when you didn’t have many classes?” Ueda Aya complained.
“I wish I could, but she said she’s only free this afternoon,” Ikeya Yu said. If he had a choice, he wouldn’t want to trouble Muzuki, as Muzuki was too kind, and seeing him take a loss made Ikeya Yu feel quite embarrassed.
Ueda Aya was already too lazy to say anything to Ikeya Yu; she truly felt that he and his blind date wouldn’t have a good outcome.
Because if the other person was truly interested, they would surely consider Ikeya Yu, rather than making Ikeya Yu trouble his colleagues.
“Then good luck, Teacher Ikeya,” Muzuki said with a smile, “It’s good to be busy, so I can get more rewards.”
“Thank you so much, Teacher Habsheng! If it works out, I’ll treat you to the most expensive restaurant in Konoha,” Ikeya Yu thanked him, then rushed out of the office; he had to go home to change clothes and get ready.
“I was right last time, wasn’t I, Teacher Habsheng? If you keep this up, people will always ask you to substitute whenever they’re busy,” Ueda Aya sighed.
“It’s a joy to help others; colleagues should help each other,” Muzuki said with a serious expression.
“You’re just too kind; you’ll easily be taken advantage of,” Ueda Aya lamented.
Muzuki smiled and said nothing, beginning to practice calligraphy.
Watching Muzuki’s serious demeanor while practicing calligraphy, Ueda Aya couldn’t help but feel how vast the difference between people truly was; if Ikeya Yu were even a quarter as excellent as Muzuki, he wouldn’t have gone his entire life without a single romantic relationship.
When he felt it was about time, Muzuki stopped writing, tidied his desk, and headed to Class 2, Grade 4 for his lesson.
Just as Muzuki reached the classroom door, the bell rang.
“Teacher Ikeya has an engagement, so I’ll be substituting for this afternoon’s Ninjutsu class,” Muzuki explained as he walked to the front.
He scanned the classroom; everyone was present except for Obito.
About three minutes into class, Obito rushed into the classroom, and upon seeing Muzuki at the podium, Obito was dumbfounded.
He had run too hard; he couldn’t believe he saw Teacher Muzuki in his class. This was Obito’s thought at that moment.
He even suspected for a moment that he had entered the wrong classroom, but seeing his familiar classmates, it was clear he hadn’t.
Obito didn’t bother resting and immediately began to explain:
“Teacher Muzuki, I didn’t mean to be late; I ran into…”
“Ran into a Grandma and wasted time helping her,” Before Obito could finish, someone in the class completed his sentence, causing a burst of laughter.
“I’m telling the truth! If I had known Teacher Muzuki was teaching this afternoon, I would have come half an hour early,” Obito continued to explain.
He was afraid Muzuki would think he wasn’t studying hard and then stop teaching him.
“Return to your seat,” Muzuki nodded, seemingly acknowledging Obito’s explanation, then added a sentence.
“You shouldn’t be late for Teacher Ikeya’s class either.”
Ninjutsu classes at the Ninja Academy started from the first grade, but only taught three Ninjutsu: Transformation Technique, Clone Technique, and Substitution Technique.
Although learning only a few basic Ninjutsu over several years might seem like a waste of time, it was actually quite reasonable, as geniuses like Shisui were ultimately rare.
For those Ninja whose ultimate goal was only to become a Chunin, mastering these three Ninjutsu was not easy, and there were other courses as well.
Although they had taken the Three Body Technique class countless times, Muzuki’s Ninjutsu class still made their eyes light up.
“So that’s how it is! No wonder my clones never looked like me before,” A student immediately showed improvement.
“I really hope Teacher Ikeya has more engagements in the future, so we can have more of Teacher Muzuki’s classes,” A student jokingly expressed their true feelings.
Everyone around them voiced their agreement.
Muzuki didn’t offer any opinions on this; he merely sighed internally at how useful the system’s skills were.

【Reward: Lightning Release: Lightning Clone】
Muzuki’s mind was instantly filled with the techniques for Lightning Release Chakra Nature Transformation and various experiences with Lightning Release: Shadow Clone.
Although it wasn’t a particularly strong Ninjutsu, Muzuki felt it was quite good to have unlocked another Chakra nature, especially since he had already gotten a drop in the morning.
For the next half month, Muzuki maintained this rhythm: if no one asked him to substitute, he would research Ninjutsu theory in the office; if someone needed a substitute, he would accept without hesitation; at home, he would teach Shisui and Obito, and then train his Chakra.
Perhaps because the quality of his substitute teaching was so high, students he had taught all wanted him to teach again. Coupled with Muzuki’s good rapport with other teachers, Muzuki quickly became a well-known teacher at the Ninja Academy.
The students all felt that Muzuki was a perfect teacher: interesting in class, gentle with people, and handsome.
The teachers also felt that Muzuki was a sincere and kind colleague.
As the center of attention, Muzuki didn’t have many thoughts; he had simply established the persona he wanted to project. Now, he was guessing why the masked Ninja was standing in his yard.
Sorry everyone, I encountered something, so the update is late.
