Chapter 402: The Legendary Teacher of the Rain Country
by SunflowerAfter dinner, Shisui and Obito went to Uchiha Fugaku’s house to invite Uchiha Itachi for a walk.
To prevent Uchiha Itachi from going to extremes and becoming the future clan destroyer, Shisui wanted Uchiha Itachi to have normal values.
However, the influence strangers could provide was limited, so Shisui was trying to become Uchiha Itachi’s friend.
Uchiha Fugaku’s family had also just finished dinner, and Uchiha Fugaku was very assured by these two geniuses from his clan and did not stop them.
“Itachi, do you know Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara?” Shisui asked with a smile.
Uchiha Itachi thought for a moment, then shook his head.
He was still young and had not yet received Uchiha’s education.
“Senju Hashirama is one of the founders of our Konoha, and is Konoha’s First Hokage. Uchiha Madara was once the head of our Uchiha Clan and is also one of Konoha’s founders,” Shisui gave a brief introduction of the two.
“During the Warring States Period, the Senju Clan and the Uchiha Clan were originally mortal enemies…” Shisui explained the history of Senju Hashirama founding Konoha while walking.
Before coming, Shisui specifically discussed with Obito, asking Obito to reduce his interactions with Uchiha Itachi and let him take the lead this time.
Uchiha Itachi listened very carefully; although he didn’t quite understand, he felt it was a wonderful story.
Considering Uchiha Itachi’s young age, Shisui didn’t go into too much detail, only roughly explaining the difficulties and efforts Senju Hashirama encountered in founding Konoha.
“Itachi, what do you think after hearing that?” After finishing, Shisui looked at Uchiha Itachi, “Wouldn’t you think First Hokage and Uchiha Madara are amazing, to be able to go to such lengths for peace?”
Obito, who was still thinking about test questions, also subconsciously looked at Uchiha Itachi.
“I didn’t really understand, so I don’t have any thoughts, but Shisui, what you told was very exciting,” Uchiha Itachi answered honestly.
He was just a one-year-old child; he knew it was bad to snatch a Grandma’s lollipop, but asking him to understand war and peace was asking too much.
“You’re still too young, it’s normal not to understand, but you can remember it for now, and if you have any thoughts later, you can tell me again,” Shisui smiled and patted Itachi’s head.
He didn’t expect Uchiha Itachi to understand; the reason he spoke of Senju Hashirama and Konoha’s founding was because these were sufficiently positive.
He wanted to inspire Itachi to admire figures like Senju Hashirama through these historical narratives, and then learn their qualities.
“I’ll tell a story too,” a thought flashed in Obito’s mind.
“Material 1: In the early days of the Ninja Village era, Konoha captured the Tailed Beasts in the Ninja World…”
“Itachi, why do you think Konoha sold the Tailed Beasts to other Ninja Villages, and what impact did that have?”
Uchiha Itachi looked at Obito with a bewildered expression; was this a story? He couldn’t understand it at all.
Shisui looked at Obito speechlessly; asking a one-year-old Uchiha Itachi to do a history problem was quite something, act like a human being.
Obito probably felt he had gone a bit too far, so when they reached Konoha’s commercial street, he bought some Dango and offered a skewer to Uchiha Itachi.
This slightly improved Obito’s image in Uchiha Itachi’s mind.
He went from being a big brother who liked to bully old Grandmas and whose words were incomprehensible, to being a big brother who would offer him Dango but still liked to bully old Grandmas and whose words were incomprehensible.
Looking at Uchiha Itachi, who was engrossed in eating Dango, Obito smiled smugly; kids were too easy to manipulate.
… … … …
Land of Rain.
Two Ninja quickly moved by stimulating their Chakra.
“Is there really a chance to obtain Ninjutsu? There won’t be some conspiracy, will there?” one of the Ninja asked with some concern.
“Kuroda, you’re thinking too much. Who cares if there’s a conspiracy? It’s not like they’re charging money anyway. If we can’t get Ninjutsu, we’ll just leave,” Ikechou said indifferently.
They were rogue Ninja operating in the vicinity, and they heard that there was a Ninja teaching Ninjutsu in Oz Village, so they came to see what was happening.
Initially, Ikechou, like Kuroda, thought there must be some conspiracy; charity wasn’t done this way.
But then a Ninja Ikechou knew obtained Ninjutsu, and that made him restless.
Kuroda thought about it and felt that Ikechou made a lot of sense. Since they were already here, if they could really obtain Ninjutsu and then backed out, wouldn’t that be a huge loss?
There were many types of rogue Ninja; some were rogue Ninja from Ninja Villages, while others were ordinary people who had accidentally obtained Ninja inheritances. The latter severely lacked systematic Ninja knowledge.
Kuroda and Ikechou belonged to the latter; even a decent C-rank Ninjutsu was very valuable knowledge to them.
After entering Oz Village, the two quickly found the person they were looking for, because he was too conspicuous.
In an open space, a brown-haired man in a white long coat stood on a temporarily built low platform, with dozens of listeners of various appearances sitting on the ground below.
The two thought he was already teaching Ninjutsu and quickly sat down to listen, only to find that he wasn’t teaching Ninjutsu, but talking about peace and the Shinobi Sect.
“The Six Paths Sage created the Shinobi Sect to create a world without war and with peace…”
Ikechou now realized that among the dozens of listeners, there were also ordinary people; it wasn’t that he could sense Ninjutsu, but rather that one person looked like a farmer who had just finished work.
“Didn’t they say we could learn Ninjutsu here? How can we learn Ninjutsu?” Ikechou interrupted directly.
He wasn’t here to listen to mythological stories; if he couldn’t obtain Ninjutsu, he would have to continue finding ways to earn money to buy cultivation resources and Ninjutsu.
The next moment, Ikechou regretted it a little, because everyone’s eyes were on him, and some of their gazes showed displeasure.
His lecture interrupted, Muzuki showed no displeasure, smiling as he answered Ikechou’s question, “Ninjutsu is a reward for listeners who perform exceptionally well.”
Although he felt a bit unnerved by the stares, since he had already asked, Ikechou bravely continued, “What elemental Ninjutsu are available? If I can’t learn a Ninjutsu, then it’s useless.”
Ninjutsu itself was a resource; if he couldn’t learn it, he could sell it for money, but Ikechou felt that selling Ninjutsu obtained in this manner would offend people, unless he had permission.
“Then you can listen at ease. I have a slight understanding of every elemental Ninjutsu,” Muzuki replied with a faint smile.
For this plan, Muzuki specifically developed quite a few C-rank and B-rank Ninjutsu.
However, calling it development was actually more like imitation, as these Ninjutsu had no special characteristics of their own.
Ikechou subconsciously felt that Muzuki was bragging; how could anyone know Ninjutsu of all elements? Even the powerful Jonin of the Five Great Nations usually only knew two.
“Then how does one qualify as performing exceptionally well?” Ikechou didn’t immediately refute, but asked one last question.
He didn’t believe Muzuki knew so many Ninjutsu, but he thought Muzuki must have something going for him, otherwise he couldn’t attract so many Ninja.
Ikechou was prepared to give it a try; if he could get Water Release Ninjutsu, it would be a gain, otherwise he would leave.
“After the lecture, write down your thoughts, and I will select the excellent insights.” After answering, Muzuki resumed his lecture, recounting the history of the Six Paths Sage’s pursuit of peace.
Ikechou and Kuroda also listened carefully to what Muzuki was saying for the sake of Ninjutsu.
Muzuki didn’t mind bringing about some positive changes for the residents of the Land of Rain while also benefiting himself.
But change requires a foundation, and the current Land of Rain hadn’t reached that foundation. Directly bringing over knowledge from his previous life would just be empty talk, without much meaning.
Therefore, Muzuki only recounted the existing history of peace in the Ninja World, allowing them to reflect on the history that already existed.
This was the content Muzuki decided on after analyzing the intelligence of the Land of Rain; the Land of Rain, constantly ravaged by war, yearned for peace and stability more than ordinary countries.
When the lecture ended, Ikechou wanted to discuss writing reflections with Kuroda, but he noticed many listeners gathered together.
Ikechou immediately pulled Kuroda over, and when he found he couldn’t squeeze in, he asked someone nearby.
Because Ikechou had interrupted the lecture, the person nearby initially didn’t want to answer, but Ikechou was so thick-skinned and kept asking, so he told him.
“His name is Nan’yu. Back when Ninja Master Sōsuke had just started lecturing, no one believed he would give out Ninjutsu. Only Nan’yu listened, wrote his thoughts, submitted them, and then received a Fire Release Ninjutsu.”
“He is also the only Ninja to have learned three Ninjutsu from Ninja Master Sōsuke.”
“He actually got three Ninjutsu so easily!” Kuroda was both shocked and envious.
How long would it take to work to afford three Ninjutsu?
“No wonder so many people are asking; it turns out he’s been selected as excellent three times,” Ikechou showed a look of sudden realization.
Ikechou noticed a detail: that person used “learned” instead of “obtained,” which meant that the other party even guaranteed teaching.
Ikechou felt this was a rare opportunity. He patiently squeezed his way in and listened to their discussion, and finally, he even stayed up all night to write a testimonial praising the Six Paths Sage.
Unfortunately, he was not selected as an outstanding person the next day, but Ikechou wasn’t too upset, because no one was selected as outstanding this time.
This meant it wasn’t just him who had a problem, but everyone was insufficient.
“Although I am speaking of history, you should focus more on the current Land of Rain,” Muzuki prompted.
His time was not abundant, so he couldn’t slowly train them.
He had given his disciples a two-month training plan, left a Shadow Clone, and used the Flying Thunder God to leave Konoha. These two months were the time Muzuki had set for himself.
Originally, Muzuki’s available time would have been shorter, as Shadow Clones couldn’t refine Chakra themselves and had limited existence. However, his Yang Seal had a small breakthrough; after the Shadow Clone was created, the main body could transfer Chakra into the clone’s Yang Seal, allowing the Shadow Clone to last longer.
Although it wasn’t very useful in combat, it was quite helpful for the busy Muzuki.
Actually, Muzuki had a faster way to make a name for himself, but it would make the people of the Land of Rain suffer a bit.
If Muzuki didn’t set any conditions and directly taught Ninjutsu indiscriminately and recklessly in the Land of Rain, with Muzuki’s ability, he could quickly become famous.
But what those rogue Ninja, whose strength improved, would do was beyond Muzuki’s control.
So Muzuki set a threshold; the first threshold was the lecture insights, weeding out those with ill intentions.
But some people were very good at disguising themselves, so Muzuki had a second threshold.
The Mind Body Switch Technique could transmit thoughts in the mind to others. Muzuki used this method to teach Ninjutsu, and incidentally, to look at the learner’s memories.
For those who had committed minor evils, he would try to see if they could be reformed; if not, he would seal their memories and discard them. For those who were greatly wicked, he would directly send them to reincarnation. Only those without problems would Muzuki immediately teach Ninjutsu.
With Muzuki’s hint, the situation on the third day was much better.
A reflection about the causes of war in the Land of Rain was chosen by Muzuki as an excellent work, and after checking it was fine, he taught the Ninjutsu.
Having personally witnessed someone being rewarded with Ninjutsu and successfully learning it, Kuroda and Ikechou were even more motivated.
But on the fourth day, Muzuki suspended classes.
“Ninja Master Sōsuke, how many days will you be resting?” Ikechou asked respectfully.
He thought Muzuki didn’t want to lecture anymore and so was taking a break.
Ikechou understood this very well: before gaining strength, one works hard to earn money and become stronger; after gaining strength, one can rest however one pleases.
“When one hundred Ninja gather here, I will begin lecturing again,” Muzuki stated his condition.
He wanted these listening Ninja to go out and recruit new people to accelerate the spread of his reputation.
“Is Ninja Master Sōsuke someone who cares a lot about his reputation?” Ikechou pondered Muzuki’s personality.
Some of the initial listeners were not surprised; they packed their things and left, preparing to go to more distant places to help Muzuki promote, as this was not Muzuki’s first promotional request.
This was Muzuki’s remedial measure for setting the threshold, which could, to a certain extent, speed up his rise to fame.
Although there were no rewards for recruiting new people, some people had already written reflections for more than ten days, and they certainly would not give up the chance to obtain Ninjutsu.
However, not everyone was like this; some would choose to give up, but this portion of people was relatively small.
The effect of dozens of Ninja working hard to promote was very good; after all, everyone had their own social connections, and mutual spreading could even reach Amegakure.
To attract more people, Ikechou spared no effort in praising Muzuki.
He described Muzuki as a hidden master, a powerful figure comparable to the demigod Hanzō, who had mastered all Chakra Nature Transformations, could use hundreds of Ninjutsu, and was very willing to impart his skills, even giving Muzuki the title of Ninja Master.
If Ikechou had been the only one exaggerating, it certainly wouldn’t have had much impact, but while Ikechou was exaggerating wildly, dozens of other Ninja were also promoting Muzuki, which increased credibility, and the name of Ninja Master Sōsuke instantly spread throughout the entire Land of Rain.
Yahiko, who wanted to recruit Muzuki, immediately took people and rushed towards Oz Village upon hearing Muzuki’s name.
He did not doubt the rumors, after all, Muzuki was a strong person acknowledged by Nagato.
The Akatsuki Organization was no longer obscure, and their actions undoubtedly further spread the rumors of the Ninja Master.
Hanzō also noticed these so-called Ninja Master rumors, so he dispatched Rain Ninja to Oz Village to check the situation.
Such a strong person suddenly appearing in the Land of Rain, he certainly had to clarify the situation.
A large number of rogue Ninja went to Oz Village hoping to try their luck, to see if they could learn Ninjutsu.
Thus, the effect of this promotion exceeded everyone’s expectations.
“It seems a bit excessive,” Ikechou felt a little guilty seeing all the Ninja discussing “Ninja Master Sōsuke.”
Before the promotional effect came out, Ikechou never expected that people would believe his exaggerated words; if there was a strong person like Hanzō in such a small place as the Land of Rain, he would have been famous long ago.
There will be another chapter later, it will be quite late.
