Chapter Index

“Right now, our Enemy Confusion Technique doesn’t seem to be much better than the standard Clone Technique.”

During the break, Kotetsu Hagane couldn’t help but sigh.

“That’s right. Whether we transform into a monster or the opponent, it makes no difference against a master compared to a standard Clone Technique,” Izumo Kamizuki said, nodding.

From the class practical exam to the Grade Level Practical Exam, they watched two battles between Anko and Shisui.

From their perspective, Anko had performed excellently, only resorting to the real-versus-fake Anko trick after creating a clone that looked like Shisui.

Even so, Anko still failed to confuse Shisui and was easily defeated.

“I still think we should follow my line of thinking: instantly create a clone attention-grabbing enough, then seize the opportunity to strike.” Izumo Kamizuki felt his idea wasn’t wrong; the monster he transformed into just wasn’t scary enough.

“But Izumo, you couldn’t even beat Anko,” Kotetsu Hagane countered.

“But I beat you, Kotetsu,” Izumo Kamizuki stated, pointing out that he had at least won against Kotetsu Hagane.

“If you can manage to beat Shisui, then I’ll agree your idea is sound,” Kotetsu Hagane tried to shift the topic to Shisui.

But Izumo Kamizuki saw through Kotetsu Hagane’s intention and chuckled, “It’s enough that I beat you, Kotetsu.”

    “You got thrashed by Anko.”

“I won against you,” Izumo Kamizuki attacked the weak point.

Kotetsu Hagane couldn’t hold it in, feeling that the final exam was a major failure in his life.

“It seems like neither of you understands anything at all.” Ebisu, who was passing by, heard their conversation, adjusted the nose bridge of his sunglasses with one finger, and said with disdain.

Such a great idea, wasted on transforming into a monster.

“You are…” Kotetsu Hagane scratched his head, confused.

“He seems to be a senior from Team B,” Izumo Kamizuki whispered.

Because Ebisu wore sunglasses, Izumo Kamizuki had a certain impression of him.

“Senior, since you know we don’t understand, why don’t you give us some pointers?” Kotetsu Hagane felt they could benefit from brainstorming.

Saying this, Kotetsu Hagane took out a bag of potato chips and handed it to Ebisu.

Ebisu looked around for a moment, and only after seeing that no one was particularly close did he accept the chips.

Ebisu sat down and waved at Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane, signaling them to come closer.

“Your thinking is good. The most important thing about the Clone Technique is distracting the enemy, but you shouldn’t be thinking about transforming into a monster,” Ebisu told Izumo Kamizuki.

“Instead of transforming into a monster, why not transform into…” Ebisu’s voice trailed off into a whisper, while Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane’s eyes grew wider and wider.

“Senior, are you a genius?” Kotetsu Hagane said with sincere admiration.

He imagined the Enemy Confusion Technique Ebisu described, and he felt he would definitely fall for it. What man could resist that kind of temptation?

“I think this technique has great potential.” Izumo Kamizuki was already eager to develop it based on Ebisu’s idea.

“Ahem, if you use this, don’t say it was my idea,” Ebisu said, glancing around.

Kotetsu Hagane nodded, then asked, “Senior, what is your name? I am Kotetsu Hagane.”

“I am Izumo Kamizuki,” Izumo Kamizuki introduced himself.

“Ebisu,” Ebisu said, standing up and walking away without looking back.

Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki silently noted the name and watched Ebisu leave, their eyes filled with respect; this was the kindness of imparting knowledge.

Today, Ebisu had truly helped them open a door to a new world.

When it was almost time for afternoon dismissal, Muzuki called a halt to the training and gathered everyone together.

“Starting this week, there will be a Skill Test every week, and a Practical Combat Test every two weeks. Those with excellent test scores can be promoted to a higher group for training,” Muzuki announced the exam schedule for the upcoming special training.

Muzuki ultimately couldn’t resist trying to see if he could exploit a bug in the system.

Disciples get rewards for excellent performance in exams. He had little authority at the Ninja Academy and couldn’t influence the number of exams, but he was fully in charge of this summer special training, meaning he could hold exams however he wanted.

Although he had previously thought this might not work, since he had the ability to try, he still wanted to give it a shot.

If there were no rewards, it wouldn’t affect anything, but if it succeeded, it would be a huge gain.

“What’s the difference between the two?” Anko asked aloud.

“The Skill Test does not require you to fight, but rather examines your mastery of Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and other subjects in an exam format. The Practical Combat Test, however, involves group members fighting according to the Ninja Academy Practical Exam model,” Muzuki explained.

After Muzuki explained it this way, Anko understood. The Skill Test was like the group test yesterday, and the Practical Combat Test was fighting.

After Muzuki finished announcing the arrangements, it was dismissal time. Muzuki didn’t waste time and immediately announced they were dismissed.

Next, Muzuki planned to do the same as yesterday: return to the Main urban area for a meal, and then go to the South Border Forest to teach his disciples.

However, after the disciples left, Muzuki did not return to the Main urban area but continued his own training.

“It’s done.” Muzuki looked at the faintly glowing Chakra Sphere in his palm and the Rasengan listed as ‘Beginner’ in his Skill Panel, nodding in satisfaction.

Although he knew the training process for the Rasengan and already possessed the ‘Proficient Level’ of Chakra Shape Transformation, he had spent too little time on the Rasengan, which is why he only just completed its training now.

Every day, Muzuki had to teach classes, instruct his disciples, study Sealing Technique, and recently added Breathing Technique for Body Tempering. Only after completing all those tasks would he start developing the Rasengan.

The reason he didn’t prioritize the Rasengan was mainly because it didn’t significantly boost his strength at his current stage.

The Rasengan consumes too much Chakra. Don’t let the palm-sized Chakra Sphere fool you; it requires a large amount of highly compressed Chakra.

For him right now, the benefit of using the Rasengan is less than that of other advanced Ninjutsu.

Muzuki’s main purpose in developing the Rasengan was to help Minato when he developed the Rasengan in the future, making Minato owe him a favor.

The Rasengan was inspired by the Tailed Beast Ball. Kushina couldn’t possibly use a Tailed Beast Ball against Minato, and factoring in the time element, Minato must have gotten the inspiration from encountering a Tailed Beast on the battlefield during the Third Shinobi World War.

Therefore, Minato should not have completed the development of the Rasengan yet.

Before achieving invincible strength, Muzuki hoped to accumulate many good friends.

Secondly, even if it’s useless now, that doesn’t mean it will be useless later.

When he has more Chakra and masters Sage Mode in the future, he can create the Rasenshuriken and develop various Nature Transformation Rasengan. If all else fails, using it to farm rewards for his disciples would also be good.
