Chapter 48 New Training Mission (Seeking Follow-up Reading)
by Sunflower“Disciple Uchiha Obito: Training Mission Set.”
“Training Mission: Achieve First Place in the Ninja Academy’s Practical Exam.”
“Reward: Determined by mission completion and strength growth during the mission period.”
“Disciple Might Guy: Training Mission Set.”
“Training Mission: Achieve First Place in the Ninja Academy’s Practical Exam.”
“Reward: Determined by mission completion and strength growth during the mission period.”
Muzuki fell into thought, looking at the several pop-up windows that suddenly appeared.
Although he didn’t know what had happened, the result was quite good.
With two training missions, plus the rewards from the exam results, his Chakra would definitely break into five digits by the end of this semester.
The unfortunate thing was that there wouldn’t be a tie for first place in the practical exam; a clear first and second would be decided, meaning one mission would inevitably have a slightly lesser reward.
“Would it be better if one of them had an accident and couldn’t take the exam, pushing it to next semester?” Muzuki seriously considered this question.
Muzuki was a bit hesitant; he was confident he could manage this.
However, he couldn’t guarantee this was the optimal solution, as there hadn’t been a situation with two training missions simultaneously before, and Muzuki had assumed a person could have at most one training mission.
If one of them were to delay until the mid-term exam next semester to complete the mission, then there would be approximately three months in between where no new training missions could be triggered.
Extending the mission time might increase the basic reward, but would it truly be more profitable than completing more training missions?
According to the training mission trigger mechanism, it wasn’t impossible for the disciple who got second place to immediately trigger another mission to get first place due to their unwillingness to lose.
Muzuki decided to act according to the situation, first planning out the enhancement strategy for Obito and Might Guy, as regardless of the outcome, more strength growth would lead to more rewards, and this point remained unchanged.
…
On Tuesday morning, Anko Mitarashi hummed an unknown tune, walking happily towards the Ninja Academy.
She had taken Monday off and hadn’t been to school, plus the two weekend days, meaning she hadn’t heard Muzuki lecture or played with her good brothers for three days.
Therefore, Anko was particularly looking forward to going to school today.
“Will Teacher Muzuki think I’m sick and ask about me? Did Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki win the competition prize money? I’m really looking forward to it.” The more Anko thought about it, the more she felt that going to school had something to look forward to.
“Is that Anko Mitarashi? One of the three ‘talent’ group members.”
“It’s her, I remember her; she was also second in the practical exam last time.”
“Second in practicals, that’s very strong, but it’s a pity her thought process is a bit peculiar.”
As Anko approached the school, and more students appeared, she noticed many people looking at her with strange expressions.
“Does no one usually take time off at the Ninja Academy? Did taking a day off spread throughout the school?” Anko thought it was because she had taken leave.
Anko muttered to herself as she walked towards the classroom for Class 1, Grade 1.
The closer she got to the classroom, the more strange looks Anko noticed, and she gradually felt something was off.
Entering the classroom, she found something unusual: Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki weren’t chatting but had their heads buried on their desks as if sleeping.
Usually, when she arrived, the two would either be discussing how to deal with Kotetsu Hagane’s troublesome cousin or discussing meeting girls.
Anko was about to walk back to her seat to wake them up and ask what was going on when a girl she got along with called out to her.
“Anko, you’ve become famous at the Ninja Academy these past two days.” The girl said, covering her mouth and trying to suppress a laugh.
“Huh? I haven’t been at school these past few days. It couldn’t be that I became famous just for taking a day off, could it?” Anko scratched her hair, a little confused.
“Was that Ninjutsu that turns into a chair developed by you?” The girl asked, still trying to suppress her laughter.
“Turning into a chair? Are you talking about the Enemy Confusion Technique? I guess so, it was developed with Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki.” Anko replied.
The girl finally couldn’t hold back anymore and burst into laughter: “Haha, you should ask your two good brothers.”
“Kotetsu Hagane, Izumo Kamizuki, did you two not sleep well last night?” Anko, growing more and more puzzled, chose to wake up her two good brothers.
But you can never wake someone who is pretending to be asleep; the two seemed to be in a deep slumber, and Anko called out several times without waking them.
Normally, a girl might give up or poke them with a finger at this point, but Anko was different.
After confirming her good brothers were pretending to be asleep, Anko directly punched each of them.
“Are you two hiding something from me?” Anko said with a suspicious look.
Knowing they couldn’t pretend anymore, the two also opened their eyes.
“It’s all Kotetsu Hagane’s fault; he made a fool of himself on stage and dragged us into it.” Izumo Kamizuki immediately sold out his good brother and told Anko about the weekend competition.
“He deliberately said our full names loudly; his intentions are despicable!” Izumo Kamizuki stood with Anko, looking indignant as he angrily denounced Kotetsu Hagane.
Her fists were hardening. She knew that taking one day off couldn’t have caused such a commotion; it turned out Kotetsu Hagane had made a fool of himself and sold her out.
Seeing Anko clenching her fists, Kotetsu Hagane quickly recounted Izumo Kamizuki’s brilliant plan from yesterday:
“Anko, don’t believe him. Izumo Kamizuki has a rebellious streak. Yesterday, he was the one who suggested that since you weren’t there anyway, we should just blame everything on you and say all the Ninjutsu were developed by you.”
Anko: …
She shifted her gaze to Izumo Kamizuki, her eyes already filled with killing intent.
She had even thought yesterday that if the two of them won the prize money, they would treat her to dango, but these two good brothers were worse than each other at backstabbing.
“You two are both no good; you’ll get beaten together!” Anko grabbed Izumo Kamizuki with her left hand and Kotetsu Hagane with her right.
The two good brothers were in the wrong, so they could only flee, and for a moment, the atmosphere in the classroom became a bit more lively.
This farce only ended when Muzuki arrived.
“Teacher Muzuki, my reputation has been ruined. Now I’m not ‘Genius Anko’ but ‘Talent Anko’.” Anko said to Muzuki, looking depressed.
“Since you’re not called ‘Mediocre Talent,’ then everyone still recognizes your strength.” Muzuki smiled and comforted her.
“I still think ‘Genius’ sounds better.”
“Then next time, prove yourself with your strength.”
“Will I get dango if I do well on the exam?”
“If you do well on the exam.”
“Yay!” Hearing that she would get dango if she did well on the exam, Anko instantly brightened up and smiled again.
Just then, the class bell rang.
“Let’s begin class.” Muzuki started his lecture for the day.
He patiently explained the three basic Ninjutsu taught at the Ninja Academy.
“Lecture Completed.”
“Evaluation: A.”
“Reward: Water Release: Water Formation Wall.”
“Under your guidance, the students of Class 1, Grade 1 have made significant progress in Ninjutsu, earning a reward—Mastery-level Three Body Technique.”
After the lecture, in addition to the usual lecture reward, there was an unexpected reward for Muzuki.
“So there’s not just lecture rewards.” Muzuki was a bit surprised.
He had been teaching for over two months, and this was the first time he had triggered such a reward.
Although it was just the Three Body Technique, it was at least mastery-level, which was good for teaching Ninja Academy students, even if not for actual combat.
Muzuki thought about it and found it quite reasonable; after all, this was a teacher system, not just a master-disciple system.
As a teacher, he had been instructing a group of students, and it was normal to receive some rewards as the students’ strength improved.
“If I teach slightly higher-level Ninjutsu, will the rewards be better?” Muzuki’s first thought was how to increase the rewards.
The idea was good, but Muzuki knew it couldn’t be realized at the moment because the Ninja Academy’s regulations stated that Ninjutsu classes, apart from Ninjutsu theory, could only teach the Three Body Technique.
Muzuki could somewhat understand this regulation.
With forty students in a class, each with different innate Chakra natures, one couldn’t expect a Chunin teacher to know Ninjutsu of all five Chakra natures, and student learning abilities also had to be considered.
For Muzuki, this was not a problem at all, as he not only mastered a large number of Ninjutsu but also had teaching skill bonuses, and his lecturing ability was already good.
However, for his own safety, Muzuki certainly couldn’t display so much.
“Perhaps I can consider applying to the Third Hokage to have me teach Class 1, Grade 1’s Medical Ninja class as well.” Muzuki felt he could pay more attention to the teaching quality of non-disciples.
He remembered that the students of Class 1, Grade 1 were quite dissatisfied with their Medical Ninja, often saying that the Medical Ninja taught poorly and was boring.
If Muzuki personally taught Class 1, Grade 1’s Medical Ninja class, the students’ Medical Ninja strength should improve even faster.
After eating, Muzuki returned to his office, thinking about how to improve the strength of Class 1, Grade 1.
In the office, the events of last month were repeating.
We are currently at a critical moment; please keep up with daily updates, or I’ll starve to death…
