Chapter 64 Your Attitude Matters When Going Online
by SunflowerAfter evening self-study, Jiang Nian left with his bag.
The night was deep, and from a distance, Xu Qianqian seemed to be holding a phone, standing motionless in the stream of students leaving school. The grade director walked past her, glanced at her, and then left work.
That old hag must be rushing to transform into a magical girl after work, right? How could she not see such a big phone?
Jiang Nian approached, “What are you looking at? So focused?”
Xu Qianqian’s delicate brows furrowed, and without hiding anything, she held the phone up to him.
“I got into an argument with someone online and couldn’t win.”
“Let me see.” Jiang Nian took the phone. Unlike Xu Qianqian, he wasn’t so bold. He looked left and right to make sure no teachers were around before carefully glancing at the screen. They had been arguing for over ten floors of comments.
“Let’s talk as we walk.” He put Xu Qianqian’s phone in his pocket.
“Oh.”
The two blended into the crowd descending the stairs, with specks of light falling on the campus path.
“I told you not to give people study advice online. They post to seek comfort.” Jiang Nian scrolled through her phone’s comments, looking at the blogger’s Yin and Yang replies.
“Hehe, although my grades aren’t ideal, I can’t accept advice. I’m the kind of person who not only focuses on results but also on the process.”
“Sister, your words carry a strong sense of superiority. Do you have no emotional intelligence at all?”
“Is it my problem?” Xu Qianqian looked puzzled.
“Of course, it’s not your problem. Look at the caption.” Jiang Nian walked while pointing at the phone screen, patiently explaining, “Look at what she wrote:’So what? What’s two years of effort?'”
“Her highest score was only two digits, and not a single subject scored above 40. If she had played one less round of Identity V in those two years, her scores wouldn’t be this low.”
“Oh, oh, then I won’t reply.” Xu Qianqian seemed a bit slow when it came to these things.
Jiang Nian clicked his tongue, “No need, I’ve already replied for you.”
Hearing this, Xu Qianqian’s pupils contracted, and she immediately snatched her phone back.
“Don’t reply randomly, you’ll get your account banned.”
Opening it, Xu Qianqian almost fainted.
“If I have to care about your mood online, then I might as well go for your mom.”
“Why did you reply with such a vulgar message again? Really!” Xu Qianqian punched him but didn’t delete it. She silently backed out, “Good thing I used your profile picture and nickname to register a fake account.”
In an instant, the smile on Jiang Nian’s face froze.
“What?”
“Huh? Did I say something?” Xu Qianqian looked innocent, soft and radiant under the streetlights, her beautiful eyes gleaming, “Oh dear, I need to go back early. I have to do practice papers today.”
“Xu Qianqian! Give me the phone!” Jiang Nian pounced.
“No! Nyeh!”
The two chased each other on the dim street, their shadows stretching and gradually blurring at the street corner.
The next morning, it was drizzling.
One autumn rain brings one chill. Xu Qianqian looked in the mirror and put on a light khaki cardigan. She carefully adjusted her bun before grabbing her backpack and umbrella and heading out.
Click. Jiang Nian also came out from the opposite door with his bag.
Only part of the express delivery had arrived. No one was home to receive it, so he would have to pick up all of it tomorrow.
In the mottled stairwell, due to the rainy weather, the light wasn’t too bright. The girl’s bun looked even cuter, with a hint more demureness than usual.
“Ah, new hairstyle, it looks really good.” Jiang Nian reached out, wanting to poke it.
Xu Qianqian slapped away someone’s wandering hand, “Touch it, and you’ll lose games for a year.”
“Holy moly, you’re so ruthless!” Jiang Nian immediately pulled his hand back, knowing his father like a daughter, “And here I was, helping you handle your online relationships amicably yesterday.”
“Hmph.” Xu Qianqian pouted, saying nothing.
However, seeing that blogger lose her cool last night and post ten short essays in a row was indeed satisfying. Although it might not sound good to say, it didn’t matter.
The Karma deduction goes to Jiang Nian.
The two went downstairs, opened their umbrellas, and walked into the rain. Two Paradise umbrellas, one black and one blue, bloomed in the rain. They walked through the puddle-filled alley and entered Zhennan Main Street in a few minutes.
The broken bricks on the street were like hidden landmines; you never knew what would happen when you stepped on one.
“The Acquired Sports Meet is the day after tomorrow. Can it still be held in this weather?” Jiang Nian mentioned, shaking the water off his umbrella, and was immediately punched by Xu Qianqian beside him.
“Don’t shake it on my side!”
“I just thought you were wearing three layers, so I was worried you’d be hot.” Jiang Nian said cheekily. Whenever he walked with Xu Qianqian, he couldn’t help but want to be a little bit of a jerk.
“Who told you to only wear one short-sleeved shirt when you left? Serves you right!” Xu Qianqian sneered, “If your eyes aren’t good, donate them to the Cafeteria. I only wore two—”
Mid-sentence, she suddenly realized, her face flushing.
“Are you trying to die, Jiang Nian!”
Jiang Nian quickened his pace, creating distance. The black and blue umbrellas immediately became one in front and one behind. In a blink of an eye, they blended into the umbrellas of many other colors and disappeared.
Going up to the fourth floor, he happened to run into Li Qingrong, who seemed to be coming from the water dispenser in the corridor.
“Class Monitor.” Jiang Nian shook his umbrella, and rainwater seeped into the corridor.
“Mm.” Li Qingrong nodded, then suddenly stopped, “The Sports Meet registration form has been submitted. You seem to have signed up for the 3000-meter race?”
“Ah, what’s wrong?” Jiang Nian looked puzzled.
“Nothing, I also signed up for the women’s group.” Li Qingrong’s expression was as usual, her lips slightly parted, “Do you need a running partner?”
“Huh?”
Yu Tongjie, holding his umbrella, entered the senior high school teaching building. He closed his umbrella, letting the rainwater drip from it, anyway the corridor stairs were already soaked.
His face was drawn, his mood as bad as the weather.
He actually wasn’t very willing to go against Jiang Nian; he just looked down on cheaters. The moment he realized it was a misunderstanding, he already felt some regret.
But it was too late to say anything now, and he didn’t like the aggressive Jiang Nian either.
Buzz.
His phone vibrated. Yu Tongjie pulled out his phone from his pocket and glanced at it.
Zhou Yuting: “The Acquired Sports Meet is the day after tomorrow. We plan to ask for leave from evening self-study tomorrow night to gather outside. Young Master Yu, are you coming? Liu Feipeng will be there too.”
Yu Tongjie looked down, thought for a moment, and replied to the message.
“Mm.”
He and Zhou Yuting weren’t actually close; they had only added each other because of his nodding acquaintance with Liu Feipeng. To be honest, he didn’t really like Liu Feipeng’s circle.
He only chatted with Zhou Yuting because of her good grades.
As for anything else, Zhou Yuting couldn’t compare to one percent of Li Qingrong.
Thinking of Li Qingrong, Yu Tongjie couldn’t help but sigh.
If it had been two years ago, he would still have had ideas. After all, although Li Qingrong had a rigid personality, she was beautiful, and more importantly, she had a unique temperament.
However, after Li Qingrong’s uncle was transferred to the city, Yu Tongjie had pretty much given up.
Now, after being promoted to the next class, they coincidentally became classmates.
If it hadn’t been for the conflict during the english class that day, there might still have been a chance. But with things having escalated like that, and Li Qingrong being a rigid person, his impression of her was probably…
Fortunately, he had signed up for the Sports Meet. The men’s 3000-meter race was short one person, and no one had signed up for it.
His action could be considered helping her out.
Perhaps, his impression could be changed.
