Chapter Index

After the second evening self-study session ended, Li Hua glanced at Jiang Nian’s desk as he stood up.

“Huh? Where did you buy these two quick-drying pens?”

“Oh, these? Uh-huh.” Jiang Nian mumbled softly, trying to get away with it. “Don’t ask where they came from, just remember this.”

“Remember what?” Li Hua was utterly confused.

“Just remember it, don’t ask why.” Jiang Nian pushed him out. “Go take your piss, be careful not to hold it too long or it’ll fork.”

Li Hua’s expression changed when he heard that. He turned to look around, then lowered his voice and said,

“You still say you weren’t peeking!”

    “Just a guess.”

“Divine doctor, is there still hope for me?”

    “Yang…”

Li Hua immediately let out a loud shriek, covered his ears, and ran away.

    Bad reviews, baby can’t listen.

Jiang Nian scoffed, muttering ‘what a trashy fellow’. He turned to look around. Zhang Ningzhi and Yao Beibei were holding hands, heading to the restroom together. Li Qingrong was still doing her homework.

He turned around and handed over a quick-drying pen he had ‘hijacked’ from Teacher Qingbao.

“Class Monitor, can you help me test if this pen works well?”

Li Qingrong’s pen stroke paused. She looked up at Jiang Nian, her gaze slightly cold.

She lowered her eyes again, staring at the cream-colored quick-drying pen for a few seconds. Finally, she took the pen and wrote on her scratch paper for a while.

    “It’s quite good.”

Hearing that, Jiang Nian smiled and handed over another pen.

“Then help me try this one too.”

Li Qingrong nodded, not refusing. She took it and tested it carefully.

    “Same.”

Jiang Nian took the quick-drying pens from her, one in each hand, then handed one to Li Qingrong.

“Class Monitor, here’s one for you.”

Li Qingrong didn’t take it, her gaze fixed on the quick-drying pen. Then she looked up at him again, a hint of confusion in her eyes.

    “Hm?”

“I won’t use them all; I just wanted to test if quick-drying pens are good.” Jiang Nian wasn’t lying, nor did he admit he bought them. “I’ll buy a few more in a couple of days.”

Hearing that, Li Qingrong hesitated for a moment before finally taking the quick-drying pen.

    “Thank you.”

“No problem, this pen color suits the Class Monitor very well.” Jiang Nian finished, placed his quick-drying pen on the desk, and directly left his seat.

Ten minutes into the third evening self-study session, Jiang Nian slipped back into the classroom from outside.

Li Hua was quite surprised. He wiggled forward and asked,

    “Where did you go?”

“I went out of the school gate. Someone was fighting by the roadside, so I went to watch the fun.”

“Haha, another one gone crazy.” Li Hua burst into laughter, pointed a finger, and couldn’t hold back, laughing again. “You’re too funny.”

Suddenly, Zeng You sneaked in stealthily from the classroom door. As soon as he sat down, before he could even catch his breath, he turned and said,

“Holy crap, I heard someone got into a car accident and started fighting at the school gate.”

Li Hua was stunned and turned to look at Jiang Nian.

    “You really went?”

Jiang Nian glanced at him, his mouth slowly twisting into a smirk.

“Why wouldn’t I go watch the fun?”

“Holy crap, so many people were watching, and they were fighting fiercely.” Zeng You grabbed a mineral water bottle and gulped down two mouthfuls. “I even ran into Lin Dong and Yang Qiming.”

“Unfortunately, the police arrived shortly after.”

Li Hua regretted it, pulling at his hair and saying,

“I didn’t see it, how annoying!”

Jiang Nian thought for a moment, then patted Li Hua.

“Alright, baby, I know you really want to feel involved. I rushed in pretty fast and even picked up some human fragments. Want me to save them for you as a souvenir?”

Hearing that, Li Hua felt a chill.

“red stone, red stone, red stone!”

Jiang Nian burst out laughing and turned to ask his deskmate, Zhang Ningzhi.

    “Do you want to see?”

Zhang Ningzhi’s face turned pale, but she still mustered the courage to ask,

    “What is it… fragments?”

    “Teeth.”

“Oh my god!” She immediately fell onto her desk, not daring to look at Jiang Nian’s palm. “Don’t show me, take it far away, no, throw it away.”

“I won’t throw it away.” Jiang Nian chuckled.

Zeng You said, “I actually like watching.”

    Jiang Nian: “?”

As the evening self-study was nearing its end, Sun Zhicheng fidgeted.

During the first evening self-study session, after Jiang Nian’s interference, although Zhou Yuting’s key was eventually picked up by him, the feeling was gone.

He only received a flimsy ‘good person’ card, without the satisfaction of helping a classmate.

Itchy, felt like there were bugs crawling on him.

Of course, Sun Zhicheng was certain that his feelings for Chen Yunyun were genuine. It was just that this relationship was still in the classmate stage and hadn’t yet begun to develop.

No matter how much Zhou Yuting compared, she couldn’t compare to Chen Yunyun. But helping classmates should also count as a good virtue and could increase one’s charm.

If flowers bloom, butterflies will come.

He had watched many anime series, and there were many similar classic tropes.

At first, the female lead ignored the male lead, or even disliked him. Then one day, a new female lead appeared in the class and started interacting frequently with the male lead.

Gradually, the original female lead started caring more and more about the male lead, eventually chasing him to the crematorium.

Thinking of that scene, Sun Zhicheng couldn’t help but strongly identify with it. Could all his grievances and silently given love really not be seen?

He wanted to shout, but he couldn’t.

This was evening self-study in a classroom, not a mental hospital recreation yard.

The loved one always takes things for granted. He wears a school uniform and sits beside you, but you don’t see him. Later, he stands at the peak in a suit, and you finally see him.

The more Sun Zhicheng thought, the more agitated he became, clenching his fists. His mind surged like a stormy sea, flashing through classic quotes.

Whose love do you think you’re accepting!

    Revive.

Lin Dong had just finished the selected problems in his math review book when he turned around and saw Sun Zhicheng clenching his fists, his face full of pain.

“Ah Cheng, does your stomach hurt?”

Sun Zhicheng’s intense emotions instantly dissipated when he was interrupted. His mind was still replaying the high-octane drama, and his lips became a little uncontrollable.

“Do you regret it now? Too late!”

The class, which had been restless before the end of evening self-study, instantly fell silent because of this one sentence.

Gaze converged from all directions, staring at the two of them.

Lin Dong was dumbfounded, what the hell was that?

Sun Zhicheng was also stunned, his mind going blank with a bang. Realizing what he had said, it felt like the sky was falling, and he just wanted to faint.

Chen Yunyun turned her head, curiously looking at the two.

“Group leader, are you two having a conflict?”

“No, he just suddenly acted like this.” Lin Dong also looked bewildered. “Ah Cheng, I just watched the fun and didn’t have time to call you, is that really enough to make you so angry?”

In the second large group, Yang Qiming watched all this with a melancholic gaze.

“Sun Zhicheng is a bit ungrateful.”

Huang Cailang gave a simple and honest smile, enjoying the drama.

    “Putting on a play?”

Zhou Yuting was still writing furiously, not even bothering to lift her head. She thought, what kind of class is this? Why is it always full of this messy stuff every day, it’s so annoying!

Jiang Nian in the first large group withdrew his gaze and shook his head.

    “That brat, quite a commotion.”

As his words fell, the class burst into laughter.

Zhou Yuting felt even more irritated and began to regret coming to Class Three.

Jiang Nian was waiting for the bell to end evening self-study; he had just been watching the fun. However, he was already used to it; the class was often noisy, it was the norm.

Well, how to put it, he just liked this open atmosphere.

Ring, ring, ring, the bell for the end of evening self-study rang.

The students of Class Three filed out, having completely forgotten the recent farce. If there were no other circumstances, Li Qingrong always left on time, shouldering her bag and departing.

Jiang Nian moved a little slower and glanced at Zhang Ningzhi.

“Do you want to see the teeth?”

Hearing that, Zhang Ningzhi paused her movements and shook her head violently.

    “No.”

“I’ve already picked them up. If you don’t look, wouldn’t I have wasted my effort?” Jiang Nian said, pulling out a black sticky note pad amidst Zhang Ningzhi’s screams.

Zhang Ningzhi covered her eyes, completely afraid to let go.

    “You, you, don’t scare me.”

“I’m just kidding, it’s not teeth.” Jiang Nian patted her shoulder.

“Nothing else either!” Zhang Ningzhi didn’t quite believe him. “You, you, you just know how to scare me. I’m going to tell Beibei that you’re bullying me.”

What’s the use of telling her, mere Huang Beibei.

    Why fear?

“It’s nothing strange, it’s a gift for you.” Jiang Nian reached out and pulled her hand away. “If I’m lying, I’m a dog, absolutely genuine.”

“Really?” Zhang Ningzhi was a little curious about the gift.

Half-reluctantly, her hand slowly lowered, and her eyes opened a slit. She cautiously glanced, finding a black sticky note pad on the desk.

Only then did she fully open her eyes, looking at the blackboard-like sticky note pad with curiosity.

    “Is this… this for me?”

“Yes, and there’s one more thing.” Jiang Nian took out a white highlighter pen from his pocket and drew on the black sticky note pad. “It’s used like this.”

As he spoke, the black sticky note pad showed an effect like white chalk writing on a blackboard.

“Wow!” Zhang Ningzhi couldn’t take her eyes off it, her eyes sparkling. “This is so fun, where did you buy it?”

She really liked these little gadgets, but she didn’t usually use sticky notes much, so she had only bought a cute pink bear sticky note pad.

Receiving this gift from Jiang Nian was quite a pleasant surprise.

“This… I chose it for a long time, I thought you’d like it.” Jiang Nian observed her reaction and said slowly.

“Mm-hmm, I love it!” Zhang Ningzhi couldn’t put it down.

She rarely picked out sticky notes herself, but the meaning of a gifted one was different.

“A while ago, weren’t you always bringing me drinks?” Jiang Nian continued to explain. “I figured, always drinking your drinks, I should give something back.”
