“Jiang Nian, do you have a girlfriend?”

Xu Qianqian was furious, “It’s already this late, and you’re still messing around. Hurry up and think of a solution!”

“She’ll definitely bring up old scores, 100%.” Jiang Nian looked down at the ground, thinking to himself, “Xu Qianqian is an unpredictable woman.”

The credits ended, the lights in the screening room suddenly brightened, and the two walked out with a large group of couples. Checking the time, it was half past eleven, and both of their phones received calls.

After ten o’clock in the small county town, the streets were basically empty. Usually at this hour, even passing cars were rare. It was the National Day holiday, so the liveliness was extended by an hour.

By the roadside of the commercial street, the dim streetlights shone through sparse leaves, creating dappled light and shadow.

Jiang Nian held his electric scooter and called his mom back.

After speaking, he handed the phone to Xu Qianqian, “Here, say something to your grandmother.”

“Nothing, just asking.” Jiang Nian said, “Caring for a mentally challenged friend, improving my moral character.”

Ding, a sound, and the System panel popped up.

“Mission: Complete a pleasant date with Xu Qianqian. Reward: 30,000 RMB (Completed).”
