Chapter Index

Li Hua’s face was full of excitement; these silly kids all looked the same.

    “Say it, quick, say it.”

At the podium, Cai Xiaoqing scanned the classroom and spoke.

“We need two taller boys with loud voices. They’ll go with a few of us class cadres to Class Four to deliver a challenge. Who is willing to volunteer?”

    Here it comes!

Li Hua suddenly stood up, pulling Jiang Nian up with him.

    “We’ll go!”

Jiang Nian was still taking off his jacket, and he was pulled up, jacket and all.

    “???”

Yang Qiming and his group also stood up, eight or nine people in total. The competition looked fierce, and Li Hua felt uncertain.

He secretly glanced at Cai Xiang, meeting his gaze.

Pick me, I’m begging you on my knees.

Emperor Guan Sheng manifested, and Li Hua got his wish.

“Li Hua and Jiang Nian, then. You two will go down together later,” Cai Xiaoqing said calmly. “You two are responsible for holding up the challenge letter so it’s easy to read as we go.”

Li Hua: “Yay, I get to see my little sister.”

Jiang Nian’s lips moved, “Damn your father, you scoundrel.”

However, since he was called out by name, he wouldn’t drag his feet. It was just going to Class Four to deliver a challenge; he could also see what expression Xu Qianqian would have when she saw him.

    Their eyes met, speechless.

He was about to leave his seat when he turned his head and saw Zhang Ningzhi looking at him. The girl’s eyes blinked, seemingly just curious, and then quickly looked away.

    “What, you want to go?”

Zhang Ningzhi’s eyes lit up, “Can I go?”

“It’s no big deal. I’ll just tell the disciplinary committee,” Jiang Nian put his jacket back on, adjusting his collar. “When I handle things, they’re always handled.”

“To put it plainly, giving this to me is like not saying anything at all.”

    Zhang Ningzhi: “.”

The girl was speechless; she didn’t understand how this person could use such a reassuring tone to say such cowardly words.

    “Let’s go!” Li Hua waved.

Jiang Nian was exasperated; that dog-like guy always found new depths of depravity.

The class cadres of Class Three, chatting and laughing, accompanied by Li Hua and Jiang Nian, two “curtain-lifting generals,” followed Cai Xiaoqing out of the classroom, carrying the class flag.

Li Qingrong was not among them.

The Sacred Emperor sat in the Immortal Hall, untouched by wind or snow.

A group of people crowded in the hallway, watching the people from Class One walk towards Class Two. Carrying the class flag and a challenge letter with red paper and black characters, it really had that special feel.

Although everyone verbally said that delivering a challenge was extremely awkward, and reading it was even more embarrassing than a social dance, once they actually stepped out of the classroom, their attitudes instantly changed.

“Cai Xiang, should we strike a pose later?” Li Hua asked excitedly. “I know the Super Detective pose, any time. I also know the Team Rocket set.”

    “No need.”

“Oh, then I’ll shout louder, I guarantee it’ll have a lot of — Aura!”

“Then I’ll stand further away from you.”

Li Hua was greatly disheartened and ran back to Jiang Nian’s side. Before he could speak,

Jiang Nian, holding the rolled-up red challenge letter, turned and glanced at him, predicting in advance,

    “Don’t just talk, jump now.”

    “I’ll watch you die.”

Li Hua let out a sharp shriek and ran to the other side.

As they went down the stairs, halfway, they met the people from Class Four. The two groups confronted each other at the corner between the third and fourth floors, and the atmosphere was quite heated.

“You guys move!” The people from Class Four spoke first.

Lin Dong was annoyed. Carrying the class flag, he shouted,

“No, whoever wants to move, move.”

Actually, the person carrying the flag should have been Liu Yang, the sports committee member, but Liu Yang was busy organizing the class’s response and didn’t participate in the cadre team delivering the challenge.

Thus, the flag bearer became Lin Dong, the math class representative.

Under these “What are you looking at? What’s it to you?” verbal greetings, the atmosphere between the two sides instantly became tense. Fortunately, they were all class cadres, so they naturally maintained a certain decorum.

    “You idiots, get lost!”

“Your class is full of imbeciles!”

Jiang Nian didn’t participate in the “refined” argument, shifting his body. He found a familiar face among the Class Four crowd, Song Xiyun, who was hiding behind the others, timid and hesitant.

The girl seemed to have seen him too, her eyes slightly surprised.

Jiang Nian touched his face and waved at her.

Song Xiyun pursed her lips, seemingly a little embarrassed. She nodded in response, then immediately turned her head away, and then secretly glanced at him again.

On the stairs, the class cadres of both classes were engaged in a war of words. Their vocabulary was carefully chosen, hitting people’s hearts directly. The atmosphere was friendly and open, and no one was willing to back down before the battle.

What a joke, if they took a step back at this moment,

the other side would widely publicize the incident to boost their class morale. They might even talk about it in Class Three to strike at Class Three’s Aura.

This kind of thing was all about being utterly shameless.

Although Cai Xiaoqing didn’t participate, she didn’t stop them either; a little confrontation wasn’t a bad thing. Anyway, if they reached a stalemate, a leader would naturally step out to mediate.

That is, to see who mediates first.

Too early wasn’t good, too cowardly; too late wasn’t good either, it would delay things.

Jiang Nian was still communicating with Song Xiyun from a distance; he made a peace sign.

Song Xiyun almost couldn’t help but laugh. She initially wanted to ignore him, but then she saw him frown. Left with no choice, she hastily, with both hands, forced herself to make a peace sign.

Jiang Nian was pleased; he loved seeing Song Xiyun’s flustered expression.

    If you’re being coerced, blink.

Did I tell you to blink?

    Awesome!

Over there, Class Four’s class monitor had already stepped forward to mediate. “We’re all brother classes, let’s each take a step back.”

Cai Xiaoqing, like a sleepy grand secretary in court, seemed completely unaware of everything that had just happened. Waking up, she quickly chimed in.

“Class Three, go down the stairs on the left. Don’t delay the main business.”

The first sentence was an arrangement, the second was a subtle jab.

“Go right,” Class Four’s class monitor pushed back slightly. He was a little annoyed but also somewhat helpless. “Hurry up, we need to go to Class Three to deliver a challenge.”

Class Four was just a bit past the stairwell entrance; going downstairs would lead right to it. Cai Xiaoqing and her group didn’t need to walk a distance upstairs like the people from Class Four.

“We’re about to enter Class Four, I’m so nervous,” Li Hua had already started fidgeting. He turned his head and couldn’t help but ask in surprise, “Nian, why aren’t you nervous at all?”

Hearing this, several class cadres turned to look at Jiang Nian.

Those who could be class cadres weren’t necessarily extremely socially anxious. But this was their first time entering another class to deliver a challenge, so to say they weren’t nervous would be a lie.

“Nothing, because being a hero comes at a price,” Jiang Nian said calmly. “Not being nervous is just not being nervous. In fact, I have some varicose veins.”

“Baby, do you like my prominent blue veins?”

“Damn, the ‘veins’ you’re talking about, how is it that kind of ‘veins’!” Lin Dong interjected, “Impressive, impressive, first time seeing someone bleed from it.”

Li Hua exclaimed, “A dance prodigy, show me your Blue Silver Grass.”

Cai Xiaoqing watched the three of them act crazy without props and couldn’t help but turn her head away. Sometimes she wondered if the feng shui in the class was bad.

“Disciplinary committee, how long have these three been showing these symptoms?”

    “I don’t know, it’s always been there, I guess.”

    “Have they seen a doctor?”

    “No need for that.”

After enjoying the little show, the relaxed group carried the class flag into Class Four. Before they even reached the podium, someone suddenly shouted,

    “Everyone stand up!”

This was a common trick used by every class: to intimidate the opposing side before they delivered their challenge. It showed respect but also achieved the goal of scaring the other party.

Normally, the intimidated party would feel a bit insecure. They might even feel pressured, deliver the challenge in a low voice throughout, and completely lose their Aura.

“Why are you shouting so loudly?” Lin Dong said, then couldn’t help but add, “So many people, it’s a bit awkward.”

Jiang Nian looked towards Xu Qianqian’s seat and found that she was slacking off. She hadn’t stood up at all, was in a half-squatting position, and had already sat down.

Alright, so you’re just making up the numbers, huh?

“Our Class A403! Based on the average score of the November 6th City-wide Joint Exam.”

The delivery of the challenge began, and Jiang Nian couldn’t be distracted. It wasn’t until the challenge was almost finished that he suddenly caught a glimpse of Xu Qianqian secretly putting away her phone below.

Damn it, I was secretly photographed by that girl.

If this wasn’t Class Four, and if he wasn’t currently playing the role of a “curtain-lifting general,” he would definitely arrest her on the spot and punish her severely.

Forget it, can’t win against someone with big breasts.

Even if fate is wandering, even if fate is…

Jiang Nian took out his phone from his pocket and took a picture of Xu Qianqian. His movements were swift, and few people from Class Three saw him.

Some people in Class Four were familiar with Jiang Nian and were already used to it.

Xu Qianqian pouted, thinking that Jiang Nian was just slacking off while delivering the challenge. Not speaking when his mouth was open, huh? She hadn’t heard his voice at all, and he was still pretending to be diligent.

Li Hua’s eyes swept across the classroom; everyone was standing. A dense crowd of people stood like pillars, and he couldn’t see any girls.

    “Who told you to stand!”

Class Four also responded, talking trash and shouting slogans.

After everything was over, Jiang Nian left the challenge letter in Class Four. As he was about to head back, he turned around and met Zhou Haifei’s gaze, and couldn’t help but smile.

One going up, one going down, the two groups met again in the hallway.

    “Don’t block the way.”

    “Don’t bark.”

    They started arguing again.

Jiang Nian was still interacting with Song Xiyun, but this time he was caught by Li Hua.

Li Hua glanced at Song Xiyun and was instantly dumbfounded. Then he saw Jiang Nian’s cheap look and almost couldn’t catch his breath, nearly fainting.

He elbowed Jiang Nian, “You know her?”

    “Mm.”

Jiang Nian’s response was too calm, as if it were just a minor matter.

Li Hua suddenly had an ominous premonition.

    Third class break.

The seventh group of people were chatting, talking about watching videos.

“Douyin is quite convenient; I like to scroll through it before bed,” one of them said. “You can also find sleep music and fall asleep right away.”

“I usually watch some knowledge points; a few bloggers summarize them quite well.”

    “Recommend, recommend.”

    Suddenly, Nie Qiqi said,

“Anyway, I’m never scrolling through Douyin again!”

    Her deskmate asked, confused, “Why?”

Nie Qiqi, hearing this, became a little emotional,

“Yesterday, I saw a short video where the blogger accidentally sent a goodnight message to her mom. Waking up to see her mom’s message was a bit tear-jerking.”

“I was so moved that I also sent a goodnight message to my mom.”

“The result! The result! My mom came in from outside and confiscated my phone!”

In a couple of days, on November 1st at midnight, there might – might – be a bonus chapter for monthly passes.

It’s unrelated to the main storyline, an event bonus.

It requires unlocking with a monthly pass.

    Just a heads-up.

Extra updates will be added when possible, on top of the regular double updates.
