Chapter 87 Dream (Additional chapter for Alliance Leader Jueying Xuantian) (12th chapter)
by Sunflower“Son, what size private room should I book?”
Su Yuan scratched his head and asked, looking at the remaining three people.
“Father, don’t worry about it. We’ll figure it out ourselves. You and Mother go back first. I’ll go home after I hang out with my classmates.”
Su Ming politely declined his father’s kind offer.
“Alright then, you all have a good time. We’ll be going now.”
Su Yuan and Zhao Ning didn’t want to be a spoilsport, so they readily agreed to leave first.
Seeing that his aunt and uncle had left, Chen Tong said to Su Ming.
“There are only four of us, so let’s not go to a hotel or anything. That’s too boring.”
Chen Tong said to Su Ming.
On one hand, he felt it would be too dull, and on the other, he didn’t want Su Ming to spend too much.
“Then where should we go?”
Su Ming was also a bit stumped for a moment.
At this moment, Ming Ke’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he said to Su Ming and the other two.
“I know a really good place!”
“Where?”
Su Ming and Chen Tong looked at Ming Ke with great curiosity.
Just as Ming Ke was about to explain in detail to Su Ming and the others, Zhao Ran suddenly saw Principal Luo Ken approaching with a group of reporters. She quickly reminded Su Ming and the others.
“Let’s go quickly! Principal Luo Ken is here with a lot of reporters.”
Su Ming and the others turned their heads to look and were immediately startled.
“Let’s go quickly! This guy is definitely here for Su Ming. If he catches him, we won’t be able to get away for at least two hours.”
Chen Tong said with a dark expression.
“Go!”
Su Ming immediately led Chen Tong and the others away.
An hour later.
Su Ming and the others arrived at the west side of Echo Avenue in Upper City, each carrying a plastic bag.
“Ming Ke, where were you talking about? Isn’t this a commercial street?”
Su Ming had been here before; this area was entirely a commercial street selling clothing, jewelry, luxury goods, and so on.
“Don’t ask so many questions. Just follow me, and you’ll find out.”
Ming Ke confidently played coy.
Su Ming and the others couldn’t press further and could only patiently follow him.
Soon, the four of them arrived at the main support pillar of the aerial tramway on Echo Avenue.
A giant alloy support pillar, three hundred meters high, reached straight up to the sky.
The base of this pillar was fenced off, with a tightly closed iron gate.
Normally, there was no one here, but if needed, the iron gate could be opened to enter and climb up the spiral staircase on the surface of the pillar for maintenance work.
Just as Su Ming and the other two were wondering why Ming Ke had brought them here, Ming Ke pulled out a key from his pocket and easily opened the tightly shut iron gate.
“Quick, let’s go in.”
Su Ming and the other two were startled, then quickly entered.
Ming Ke followed them in and closed the iron gate behind him.
Immediately after, the four of them began climbing up the maintenance spiral staircase.
About fifteen minutes later, Su Ming and the others climbed to a protruding metal platform at 250 meters.
“This is it.”
Ming Ke said happily, as cool breezes wafted over them.
Standing on the maintenance platform, Su Ming gazed into the distance, taking in the beautiful scenery of Upper City.
At this moment, an aerial tramway sped from afar, whistling as it passed overhead.
“Wow, an aerial tramway!”
Zhao Ran exclaimed excitedly.
“Isn’t this place great!”
Ming Ke plopped down on the ground, opened the bag he was carrying, and took out bottles of beer.
“Quite good!”
Su Ming sat down with him, then took out several synthetic paper-wrapped items from the plastic bag he was carrying.
Zhao Ran squatted down, helping to open the synthetic paper, revealing the wrapped braised meat chunks and dried meat.
Chen Tong opened four bottles of iced beer, handed one to each of Su Ming and the others, then took a sip and asked curiously.
“Ming Ke, how did you know about this place, and how do you have a key?”
Su Ming also looked at Ming Ke curiously; this place wasn’t somewhere everyone could find.
Ming Ke smiled and replied.
“My father is an aerial tramway maintenance engineer, and I often come to this place with him.”
“So that’s how it is.”
Su Ming and the others immediately understood.
“Come on, let’s make a toast. After today, we’ll probably go our separate ways. It’ll be hard to get together again in the future.”
Ming Ke raised his bottle and said.
“Alright!”
Su Ming and the others clinked their beer bottles, each taking a big gulp.
However, after they finished drinking, they all fell silent, their expressions somewhat melancholic.
Just as Ming Ke had said, after today, they would go their separate ways.
Seeing the atmosphere become a bit heavy, Su Ming smiled and said.
“Don’t be so sad. It’s not like we’ll never see each other again. Maybe the schools we apply to will even be in the same city. Ming Ke, you go first, where are you planning to apply?”
“My scores are pretty good, so I plan to apply to a college in Rainy City. I have relatives there, so they can offer some help.”
Ming Ke didn’t hide anything and directly stated his plan. Of course, this plan was actually arranged by his parents.
Su Ming nodded and turned to look at Zhao Ran.
“What about you?”
“My scores aren’t high enough. My comprehensive test score is only 141, so I can only apply to schools in the Thirteenth District.”
Zhao Ran said with some regret.
After listening, Su Ming looked at Chen Tong and said.
“Chen Tong, what about you? Do you want to apply to a college in Star City? Although your comprehensive score is only at the passing line, your mecha score is very high, so you should be able to choose a good school.”
“I’ll think about it later. I haven’t decided yet.”
Chen Tong said with great hesitation.
“What’s there to hesitate about? If you have a choice, schools in Star City are definitely the best.”
Su Ming looked at Chen Tong with a bit of confusion.
“Sigh, I still haven’t decided.”
Chen Tong said somewhat evasively.
Zhao Ran, seeing this, immediately tried to persuade Chen Tong.
“Chen Tong, apply to Star City with Su Ming. It has more prospects there!”
“I’ll think about it later, I still haven’t decided. There are still a few days left before the application deadline, so there’s no rush. Let’s not talk about this, let’s talk about something else!”
Chen Tong changed the subject rather unnaturally.
“Then let’s talk about dreams. Do you guys have dreams?”
Zhao Ran tilted her head, thought for a moment, and said.
“Of course!”
Ming Ke was the first to respond.
“Your dream wouldn’t still be to get into Royal Court Academy, would it?”
Su Ming looked at Ming Ke and teased.
“No, I’ve come to terms with reality on that one. My ability is limited! My current dream is to join the army after graduation and become a brave warrior! This was also my father’s dream once. He didn’t achieve it back then, so now it’s up to me to fulfill it.”
Ming Ke coughed and explained.
“That’s great. What about you, Zhao Ran?”
Su Ming then looked at Zhao Ran.
“Me? I don’t want to join the army. My dream is to live a stable life and earn a lot of money to be filial to my parents. Although they are civil servants in the Thirteenth District, their salaries are very limited, and it was very difficult for them to raise me since childhood.”
Zhao Ran thought for a moment and replied.
“Good. What about you, Chen Tong?”
Su Ming then looked at Chen Tong and asked.
