Chapter Index

Just then, a figure entered the room, and Su Ming immediately raised his gun, pointing it at the incoming figure.

Chen Tong was startled, instinctively pointing his gun back at Su Ming. When he realized it was Su Ming, he immediately shouted in surprise.

    “It’s me!”

Seeing that it was Chen Tong, Su Ming lowered his gun, letting out a slight sigh of relief.

“I thought the mechanical spider had caught up. How’s the situation outside?”

“Probably a team wipe. After you were taken down, I was also instantly killed. But fortunately, Lin Chuyu came to my rescue, and I was also lucky that the enemy didn’t attack the cockpit, and the mecha didn’t explode, so I ran in. That girl is really something; I wonder if she’s into me.”

Chen Tong said with lingering fear.

“Alright, stop being so narcissistic. Let’s go, it’s not safe here!”

Su Ming decisively told Chen Tong.

“Not necessarily, right? That passage entrance is so small; they shouldn’t be able to come down, right?”

“Didn’t you see the mechanical spiders on the ground on your way in?”

“I did. Let’s hurry up and go!”

Chen Tong’s expression changed slightly, and he stopped talking nonsense.

The two then left the utility room and went out into the corridor, only to run right into several mechanical spiders coming down.

These mechanical spiders immediately locked onto them, crawling over at extreme speed.

Su Ming and Chen Tong were instantly dumbfounded; they were truly having bad luck, even drinking cold water would choke them.

They immediately raised their rifles and sprayed bullets at the crawling mechanical spiders, then turned and ran.

The mechanical spiders, however, pursued relentlessly.

Su Ming and Chen Tong ran while taking turns to turn around and shoot behind them.

“There’s a crossroads ahead, where do we escape to?”

    Chen Tong shouted, extremely nervous.

Su Ming quickly scanned the area: the left led to the underground garage, the right to the storage area, and straight ahead to the equipment area.

    “Right!”

    “Okay!”

Chen Tong immediately followed Su Ming and turned right.

At this moment, the mechanical spiders relentlessly caught up, and Su Ming turned his head, sweeping them with gunfire.

    Click, click~

    Soon, the magazine was empty.

Su Ming felt his waist but didn’t find a spare magazine, and his heart sank. At the time, he had picked up this rifle just for emergencies, so he hadn’t taken any spare magazines.

So he immediately asked Chen Tong beside him.

“Chen Tong, do you have any magazines left?”

“Like heck I do, my bullets are also gone, but I still have one explosive grenade!”

Chen Tong pulled out his last explosive grenade and threw it behind him.

    Boom!

A huge explosion swept through the area.

Su Ming and Chen Tong didn’t look back at the mechanical spiders; instead, they ran forward with all their might.

Soon, they encountered several intersections, each leading to different large sections of the storage area.

Su Ming and Chen Tong randomly chose an intersection and turned into it, then entered the huge main road from a pedestrian passage.

    About half an hour later.

Su Ming and Chen Tong were utterly exhausted and couldn’t run anymore. They stopped, leaning against the wall, breathing heavily.

“Su Ming, did those mechanical spiders catch up?”

    Chen Tong asked, panting.

Su Ming looked back, his throat dry, and replied.

    “No.”

“That’s good, but what’s going on? Why do I feel so tired?”

    Chen Tong said, almost collapsing.

Hearing Chen Tong say this, Su Ming immediately felt that something was wrong and looked down at his own body.

He was surprised to find that his status display showed fatigue and hunger.

“We haven’t eaten; we are currently in a state of fatigue and hunger, and our physical strength has significantly decreased.”

Su Ming simply told Chen Tong.

“No way, what kind of examination system is this? It’s so abnormal?”

Chen Tong couldn’t help but complain.

“Stop talking about that. Let’s look around and see if we can find some supplies.”

    Su Ming said simply.

Chen Tong turned his head, looked around, and said with a headache.

“This place is so big, how do we find anything?”

“We should be safe now. Let’s search separately.”

Su Ming calmly told Chen Tong.

    “Alright!”

    Chen Tong immediately agreed.

    “Remember, don’t go too far.”

After Su Ming instructed him, he walked towards the B3 Storage Area on the right.

Chen Tong, on the other hand, walked towards the B4 Storage Area ahead.

Not long after, Su Ming arrived at the B3 Storage Area. Along the way, he saw large, sealed containers.

Su Ming’s eyes lit up, and he went forward to take a look, seeing markings sprayed on the surface of the containers.

“Third Planet · Tianfu Interstellar Mining Group Company, HW-4751 Cargo Container.”

Su Ming frowned. These containers were filled with ores and similar goods, which were of no use to him.

He immediately continued his search forward.

Tens of minutes later, Su Ming quickly went through the large containers stored in the B3 Storage Area, hoping to find weapons like mechas.

Unfortunately, all of them were various ore raw materials.

He let out a slight breath, suppressing his irritable mood, and continued searching forward.

Just then, he saw a workroom ahead.

Su Ming then walked in. The door of the workroom was open, and there were bloodstains on the ground at the entrance.

He cautiously walked into the workroom, only to see that it was very messy inside, with documents scattered everywhere, and a torn body of a staff member on the floor.

Su Ming cautiously scanned the room, confirming that there were no hidden dangers in any of the blind spots.

Only then did he walk over to the dead body and squat down.

The lower half of this body was torn apart, and its face retained the fearful and painful expression of death, which was very unsettling.

However, Su Ming didn’t care, his gaze falling directly on the nameplate on its chest.

“Manhav Military Airport · Mank Data Clerk.”

Su Ming then stood up, and he began to look around at the scattered documents.

Just then, he was attracted by a document scattered on the floor.

    “Lomoske Interstellar Heavy Industry Cargo…”

As he was about to walk over and pick up that scattered document.

Chen Tong rushed in, extremely excited.

    “Su Ming!”

    “What’s wrong?”

Su Ming turned to look at the excitedly running Chen Tong and asked.

“I found a lot of Second Generation Mecha, haha!”

    Chen Tong said ecstatically.

    “Let’s go!”

Su Ming said to Chen Tong without a moment’s hesitation.

They were mecha pilots; without mechas, they were even worse than ground soldiers.

Chen Tong immediately led Su Ming, running towards the B4 Storage Area.

“What model of Second Generation Mecha did you find?”

“Flame Rider, all of them are Flame Rider, probably about ten units!”

“Very good! Although Flame Rider can’t compare to Lancer, it’s also very agile, barely qualified to stand before Lancer, at least it won’t be instantly crushed.”

Su Ming personally didn’t really like heavy, durable mechas like Iron Head. He preferred agile mechas good at close-quarters combat, like Lancer.

“With Second Generation Mecha, we can try to go out and take on that Lancer.”

Chen Tong became more and more excited as he spoke.

“Well, that still needs to be carefully considered.”

Su Ming replied with some hesitation; even with Second Generation Mecha, he wasn’t very confident.
