Chapter Index

“Sorry, all the mech simulation trainers are currently occupied. Almost every training pod has someone waiting behind it. There’s only one simulation training pod you can book, but it won’t be available for another five hours.”

Liu Zhi replied with a chuckle.

Su Ming and Lin Chuyu felt a bit of a headache hearing Liu Zhi’s words; their worst fear had indeed come true.

Su Ming quickly calculated. He had a class at eight, and since he arrived late today, it was almost five. He had to leave by 7:30 PM at the latest, so waiting five hours meant it would be ten o’clock, which was too late. He then asked Liu Zhi, “Can we book for tomorrow?”

“Sorry, no. As you can see, we’re very popular here. If we accepted, other customers would complain,” Liu Zhi replied directly.

Hearing this, Su Ming turned to Lin Chuyu with a helpless expression and asked, “I have a class at eight, so I can’t make it. Do you want to go?”

“Yes, I’ll wait,” Lin Chuyu replied without a moment’s hesitation.

“Alright, then I’ll book the mech simulation training pod for you,” Su Ming replied with a hint of surprise. He hadn’t expected Lin Chuyu to be so diligent.

“Thank you,” Lin Chuyu replied gratefully.

Su Ming turned to Liu Zhi and said, “Please book it for me.”

Just as Liu Zhi was about to reply to Su Ming, a haughty female voice suddenly interjected, “We’re taking the simulation training pod.”

Su Ming frowned slightly and turned to look.

He saw a tall, beautiful woman wearing black high heels, light but vibrant makeup, and alluring lips painted with bright lipstick, dressed in a Haiheng Academy uniform, walking over and speaking.

Beside this beauty was a handsome young man with a high nose bridge and an arrogant expression, dressed in designer casual clothes, as well as a plain-looking girl with exaggerated round earrings, wearing a school uniform.

“Oh, isn’t that Miss Gu Meng? You want to book a simulation training pod? I’ll book it for you right away,” Liu Zhi said, fawning obsequiously.

Lin Chuyu heard Liu Zhi about to give the simulation training pod to Gu Meng and was about to speak when she heard Su Ming’s slightly cold, questioning voice.

“Wait, we booked this simulation training pod first. Why are you giving it to them?”

Liu Zhi’s fawning smile froze, and he immediately turned to Su Ming and said, “You haven’t actually booked it yet, have you?”

Gu Meng glanced at Su Ming, then ignored him, chuckling as she said to Lin Chuyu, “Isn’t this Lin Chuyu? When did your taste get so bad, bringing along such a fatty?”

“Su Ming is my friend,” Lin Chuyu replied calmly.

“Friend, huh? I think he’s a simp, and a useless one at that. Liu Zhi, I want the training pod. You know very well who my father is if anyone dares to fight me for it!” Gu Meng said haughtily.

“Miss Gu Meng, what are you saying? If I don’t give it to you, who would I give it to?” Liu Zhi replied ingratiatingly.

“You wouldn’t dare! I booked the mech training pod first. Call your manager over!” Su Ming immediately saw that Liu Zhi was biased towards the other party, so he didn’t intend to waste words with him. Although he disliked trouble, it didn’t mean he was afraid of it.

Liu Zhi was momentarily caught between a rock and a hard place. He really wanted to curry favor with Gu Meng, but Su Ming’s attitude was so firm that he didn’t seem easy to provoke either.

Gu Meng also realized that Liu Zhi couldn’t make the decision, so she snorted and said, “Go call your manager.”

“Alright,” Liu Zhi replied with a grateful, apologetic smile as he left.

At this moment, Su Ming and Lin Chuyu were confronting Gu Meng and her companions. Many people waiting to use the simulation trainers around them, seeing the argument, gathered to watch the commotion.

“Isn’t that the beautiful Gu Meng from your Haiheng Academy? And isn’t that handsome guy standing next to her Qi Shen?”

“It’s them. Who is the person arguing with Gu Meng?”

“Lin Chuyu from Mient Intermediate Academy. The other guy looks familiar, but I can’t quite recall him.”

“Oh, so that’s Lin Chuyu? She’s really pretty!”

“Your school’s Gu Meng isn’t bad either.”

“She’s not bad, but she’s too overbearing.”

    The onlookers continuously discussed.

At this moment, a male student wearing a Mient Academy uniform with black spots all over his face, seeing Su Ming and Lin Chuyu together, grinned maliciously. He took out his phone, snapped a photo, and then retreated from the crowd of onlookers.

Just then, Liu Zhi returned with a middle-aged man wearing a white shirt, with thinning hair and a round face.

“I’m Wan Shan, the manager of Heavy Assault. Liu Zhi has already given me a rough idea of what happened.” Wan Shan directly stated that he knew what was going on.

Su Ming looked at Manager Wan Shan expressionlessly and said, “Your club is open for business. I don’t need to explain the principle of first come, first served, do I?”

At this point, Gu Meng also spoke, unwilling to be outdone, “I don’t care about all that. I’m booking the simulation training pod today!”

Wan Shan’s gaze first swept over Su Ming, then over Gu Meng. His eyes shifted, and he said to Su Ming, “Brother, although you asked for the simulation training pod first, you haven’t paid yet. If you haven’t paid, it’s not definitively booked. Of course, we are in business, and we won’t favor anyone, so you two make your bids. Whoever offers the highest price will get the booking.”

Hearing this, Su Ming’s eyes grew colder. It was obvious that Wan Shan was favoring Gu Meng and her group.

Gu Meng, hearing Wan Shan’s words, immediately said triumphantly, “That makes sense! Highest bidder wins! If you don’t have money, shut your mouth and get lost!”

    “Fine!” Su Ming agreed directly.

“I’ll offer three hundred for one hour!” Gu Meng immediately bid.

“Five hundred!” Su Ming replied without hesitation.

“Eight hundred!” Gu Meng snorted and continued to raise the bid.

“One thousand!” Su Ming didn’t back down and directly raised it to one thousand.

Gu Meng hesitated for a moment when she heard Su Ming raise it to one thousand, a look of indecision on her face.

At this moment, Qi Shen, who was pursuing Gu Meng, saw this and spoke on her behalf. “Two thousand an hour!”

The onlookers immediately gasped in surprise.

Su Ming was about to speak when Lin Chuyu reached out and stopped him, biting her lip slightly as she said, “Forget it, it’s too expensive! I’ll come back another day to practice.”

At such a high price, she couldn’t afford to train.

“It’s fine, this has nothing to do with you. You don’t need to worry about it. Just pay me back the normal price. Three thousand!” Su Ming calmly called out.

“Wow, three thousand an hour, that’s so extravagant.”

“They really don’t treat money like money!”

Everyone on the scene exclaimed in amazement.

Gu Meng and Qi Shen’s expressions immediately turned very ugly. Su Ming had already bid three thousand. If they went higher, a few hours would easily cost tens of thousands of federal currency, just thrown away.

Although they had some money, they were reluctant to spend it like that. After all, an ironhead mech only cost a few million federal currency.
