Chapter Index

    “Understood, Director Chen Zhu!”

The teachers responsible for distribution on site did not dare to neglect and responded one after another.

At this moment, Mia picked up a wine bottle, took a sip, and casually said to Su Ming and the others,

“You all line up to get your uniforms, then go change. Once you’re done, come call me.”

Before Su Ming and the others could react, Mia swayed forward. She walked straight to Director Chen Zhu’s chair, plonked herself down, and even propped her fair legs up on the table.

In an instant, the students who were getting their uniforms, as well as the teachers distributing them, all looked at Mia in astonishment.

Even Director Chen Zhu looked at Mia with a dark expression, though he didn’t flare up, his desire to kill was evident.

Unfortunately, Mia was like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, completely unconcerned as she sat there, showing no intention of getting up.

    “Who is that?”

“She’s wearing a teacher’s uniform, so she must be a teacher. I just saw her leading a group of students.”

“Who’s so unlucky to get stuck with that teacher?”

Su Ming and the others kept their heads down, silently queuing to receive their clothes.

The process was quite fast; Su Ming received his clothes shortly after.

He took his clothes and entered Comprehensive Building 1, Men’s Locker Room 43.

Inside the locker room, there were rows of electronic lockers. By simply swiping a student card, a compartment would automatically open, allowing one to place their coat and pants inside and retrieve them later.

Su Ming tore open the plastic packaging and took out the Royal Court Academy uniform.

He carefully examined the uniform. The Royal Court Academy uniform featured a white top made of crisp yet soft high-grade fabric, tailored to fit well with smooth lines. The collar was a delicate stand-up design, the sleeves were slightly tapered, and a star emblem was on the chest, displaying a unique identity marker. The pants were straight and long, made of superior material.

Su Ming inwardly praised, Royal Court Academy was truly wealthy and powerful; this set of uniforms likely wasn’t cheap.

So he stopped thinking too much, quickly changed into the uniform, put his own clothes into the locker, and then left the changing room.

    A moment later.

After Su Ming and the others had all changed, Mia slowly got up from her chair and walked over to them.

“Teacher, we’ve changed our clothes. What do we do next?”

“Come on, I’ll take you to take pictures.”

Mia said with a yawn, the high alcohol content making her feel sleepy.

    “Take pictures?”

“Taking pictures on the first day of school?”

An Qi and the others looked confused.

    “Let’s go, let’s go.”

Mia waved the wine bottle at everyone and walked forward, showing no intention of explaining.

Everyone could only follow Teacher Mia, utterly bewildered.

After a long while, Mia led Su Ming and the others to the southeast corner of Royal Court Academy.

Here stood a solemn and majestic gate. The entire gate was constructed of heavy stone, tall and sturdy, exuding a strong sense of history.

The top of the gate was arched, with four characters engraved in the center: “Land of Eternal Sleep,” and special linear patterns carved around it.

The moment Su Ming and the others saw the name of the gate, they instantly became solemn.

This place was the mausoleum within Royal Court Academy. For graduates who sacrificed themselves over the years, the academy erected a tombstone for each of them inside.

Therefore, the mausoleum was also one of the spiritual pillars of Royal Court Academy.

At this moment, a drunken Mia led Su Ming and the others towards the mausoleum gate.

    However, as they approached.

A guard captain, wearing a crimson third-generation exoskeleton armor called ‘Blazing Flame,’ with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a burly build, immediately stretched out his hand to stop Mia.

    “Hold on!”

“Huh? Captain Gater, why are you stopping me?”

    Mia asked irreverently.

Captain Gater’s gaze fell on Mia’s hand, and he said in a deep voice,

“Mia, this is the mausoleum; you can’t bring alcohol inside!”

“Oh, what are you saying? I’m bringing this wine in to honor my fallen comrades.”

    Mia said with a chuckle.

Captain Gater’s eyebrow twitched, and he said, suppressing his anger,

“If anyone else said that, I’d believe them. Coming from your mouth, who would believe it! Hand it over quickly.”

    “Okay, I’ll hand it over!”

Mia replied with a giggle. Immediately after, she lifted the wine bottle to her mouth and chugged it!

    Gulp, gulp~

Su Ming and the others’ eyes widened in disbelief as they watched Mia down half a bottle of liquor directly.

    “Burp! Here you go!”

After drinking, Mia directly shoved the wine bottle to Captain Gater.

Instantly, Captain Gater exploded like a lit powder keg, roaring furiously,

“Mia, you, you’re going too far!”

At this moment, Captain Gater’s subordinates behind him quickly stepped forward to pull their captain back, advising him one after another,

“Captain, calm down, you can’t hit her!”

No matter what, Mia was a teacher at the academy. If the captain really laid a hand on her, he’d be out of a job.

“Oh, let me go! I know.”

Captain Gater stomped his foot in anger. He just couldn’t understand why the academy would allow such a teacher to exist; it was simply a disgrace.

Everyone slowly released their hands when they saw Captain Gater calm down.

“Don’t be angry, it’s just a small matter.”

Mia also replied with a drunken smile.

“Get in, don’t stand here bothering me.”

Captain Gater said through gritted teeth.

Mia waved her hand with a chuckle and said to Su Ming and the others,

    “Dear students, let’s go!”

Su Ming and the others silently followed Mia inside, starting to get used to her antics.

Soon, Su Ming and his group entered the mausoleum.

This mausoleum covered a very large area, but with a single glance, as far as the eye could see, there were rows upon rows of stone tombstones, with hardly any empty space.

Su Ming and the others were deeply shocked; how many people must have sacrificed themselves.

Mia paid no attention to the surrounding tombstones, leading Su Ming and the others along the main path, walking further inside.

Su Ming and the others walked, scanning the tombstones on both sides of the path. Each tombstone had a black and white photo, a name, and an epitaph printed on it.

As everyone looked at the young faces in the photos on the tombstones, their hearts grew heavier; each tombstone was like a sleeping life.

As they followed Mia for a distance, the main road then branched into many smaller paths, leading to various areas of the mausoleum.

Su Ming saw many figures dressed in school uniforms, military uniforms, and exoskeleton armor, holding paper flowers, walking towards different paths.

However, they did not turn onto those branching paths but continued along the main road further inside.

A moment later, Mia led Su Ming and the others to a spacious circular plaza. The entire plaza ground was paved with thick rock, and some moss grew in the cracks of these rocks.

In the center of the plaza, three hundred-meter-tall rock statues stood side by side. The upper halves of the left and right rock statues were shattered, with a pile of rubble scattered on the ground, but the middle statue was perfectly preserved.
