Chapter Index

At this moment, Opham raised his hand, signaling all the chattering students to quiet down, and explained calmly.

“Whether you believe it or not is up to you. Belief, sometimes, is just a form of psychological comfort. It gives people a little spiritual support in desperate situations, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with it.”

    “Teacher, do you believe it?”

    Aide asked curiously.

“Personally, I don’t believe in these things, but I want to tell you something. This statue was personally dug up and erected by the founding principal of Royal Court Academy. Moreover, this statue was created even earlier than the Federation. That is to say, it existed before the Federation was even established, which is why the Academy still keeps it to this day.”

    Opham replied very objectively.

“The founding principal personally erected it, so it should be somewhat reliable.”

At this moment, several students immediately changed their stance after hearing this.

However, most students were not impressed, as times had already changed.

The era of cold weapons had become a thing of the past.

Opham didn’t care about the students’ discussions. He raised his left hand, checked the time on his wristband, and said to everyone,

“Time’s almost up, it’s nearly noon. Let’s go.”

    “Alright!”

    Everyone followed Opham, leaving.

Su Ming also quietly followed at the very end.

Just then, a sudden gust of wind rose, the surrounding maple trees swayed, making rustling sounds, and red maple leaves fell one by one.

Su Ming immediately stopped, turning his head to look back at the statue. His gaze passed through the falling maple leaves, looking at the solitary statue. This glance felt as if tens of thousands of years had passed.

Not long after, Opham led everyone out of the cemetery and walked onto a wide road.

Along the way, Opham raised his hand and pointed to three cup-shaped buildings ahead, saying to all the students,

“The three buildings lined up in front are the standard school cafeterias, offering various meals. Of course, outside the school, there’s also a corresponding commercial street where you can shop and eat. If you’re particular, you can also eat outside.”

“Teacher, do the students from the inner campus eat in the cafeteria?”

A female student asked very curiously.

“The students from the inner campus have their own dedicated cafeterias, so they normally wouldn’t come here to eat. However, if they want to come here to eat, it’s not a problem, but you cannot go there. The inner campus and outer campus are completely separated.”

    Teacher Ofam answered simply.

“Ah, that’s too bad. I was hoping to meet some and make friends.”

    “Yeah.”

    Everyone said regretfully.

Opham seemed to have long been accustomed to this reaction, as the questions asked by each batch of new students were generally similar.

He continued to lead everyone on a tour, showing them the more important buildings within the outer campus, and introducing them very patiently.

“That square-shaped building over there is the teaching building, where you’ll have classes in the future. And the cube-shaped building on the right is the outer campus library. Although some books can’t compare to the inner campus library, it makes up for it with a wide variety of collected books.”

Rhine and the others all pricked up their ears, listening carefully to Opham’s introduction. Their unreliable teacher would never be so responsible.

Before long, Opham had introduced most of the important teaching buildings in the outer campus.

Although they didn’t go inside these buildings due to time constraints, just looking at the outside, they could tell that the Academy’s hardware facilities were excellent.

“Ahead is the dormitory for new students of the Mech Department. Your student cards all have your dormitory numbers marked, just find it accordingly. After you settle down in your dorms, you can go to the cafeteria to get a meal card and eat. If you really can’t get used to living in the dorms, you can also choose to live outside. The school doesn’t object, and many residences, including even villas, have been developed in the areas near Royal Court Academy.”

When Opham said the last part, a meaningful expression appeared on his face.

Su Ming keenly noticed, a suspicious look in his eyes. He felt something was off, but he didn’t ask much.

At this moment, Opham’s students said excitedly,

“That’s great! I didn’t expect the school to be so free. Oh, right, Teacher, don’t we officially start school in a month?”

“Yes, there’s still a month until official classes begin. However, you can’t completely relax. You still need to diligently train your mech operation during this time. The course intensity will be very high after school starts, so don’t fall behind.”

    Opham sternly instructed everyone.

    “Yes, Teacher.”

    Everyone responded.

“Alright, new student registration ends here. Dismissed!”

After Opham announced, he turned and left.

Su Ming and the others didn’t linger and all walked towards the dormitory building, full of anticipation for their dorms.

However, when everyone arrived at the Mech dormitory area and looked at the dormitory building in front of them, they were all stunned.

Square, featureless metal dormitory buildings came into view, and what surprised everyone most was that the dormitory building’s surface had compact, protruding balconies, with very high density.

Su Ming looked at the dormitory building in front of him and felt it was a different kind of pigeon loft, just with a cleaner exterior.

“Is this our dormitory building? We didn’t go to the wrong place, did we?”

A female student asked in disbelief.

“No, this area is all dormitory buildings for the Mech Department.”

Everyone looked at the sign not far away, feeling a bit dazed. It clearly read “Mech Department Dormitory Area.”

Su Ming sighed slightly, then picked up his student card and took a look. His dormitory number was Building L, 301.

He walked straight into Building L on the left. Rhine and the others also reacted and followed.

Not long after, Su Ming found dormitory 301, but before Su Ming could enter, a group of classmates who had followed him looked at the dormitory number and said,

    “301 is here.”

    “I’m also 301!”

    “What a coincidence, you’re also 301?”

    “Wait, me too!”

Su Ming turned to look at them, a strange expression on his face, and said,

    “Me too.”

“Damn, how many people per dorm is this?”

Rhine’s expression immediately became a bit strained, and he couldn’t help but complain.

Su Ming counted the classmates gathered at 301 and sighed, saying,

    “Ten people!”

“No way, it’s even worse than a junior academy?”

Rhine and the others said in shock.

Su Ming sighed slightly. Although he hadn’t hoped for a single room, ten people per room was truly beyond his expectations.

However, Su Ming quickly accepted reality and pushed open the dormitory door.

A dormitory of about fifty square meters came into view. Inside, five bunk beds were compactly arranged, and each bunk had a label with the corresponding person’s name on it.

Their luggage had all been laid out on their respective beds. Besides that, there was also a very small independent bathroom and a balcony for drying clothes.
