Chapter 282 Accusation (Second Update)
by Sunflower“That’s right, there are tens of thousands of survivors on the ship, it’s not at all what you said!”
“Vice Principal Fleck, I truly didn’t know about this; they didn’t tell me either.”
Jessa quickly explained.
“Alright, you didn’t know, did you? Then why didn’t you tell us that a 4th Generation Biological Mecha and Morik’s body were also transported on that ship? Such vital information, and you didn’t tell us? Don’t tell me you didn’t know.”
Fleck replied with extreme anger.
“I do know about these matters, but I couldn’t tell you. That’s a military secret; how could I reveal it?”
Jessa also replied apologetically.
“You!”
When Fleck heard Jessa’s words, his blood pressure instantly soared, but for a moment he didn’t know how to refute.
“Vice Principal Fleck, I deeply understand your feelings, but military secrets must not be disclosed. After this matter is over, I will apologize to you. Before that, please tell me, were the people rescued?”
General Jessa asked with great anxiety.
At this moment, Colonel Xiao Ye reported in a deep voice.
“Sorry, sir, the mission failed. Due to the Four-Generation Mecha losing control and going berserk, we had no choice but to evacuate all personnel and launch an attack to destroy the nautilus.”
When Major General Jessa heard Commander Xiao Ye’s answer, his entire face was so gloomy it could drip water.
However, he didn’t explode in anger, as a 4th Generation Biological Mecha going berserk was indeed beyond their capabilities.
But with the mission failed, it was truly troublesome; he didn’t know how to explain it to his superiors.
Just then, an officer rushed in. He saluted Colonel Xiao Ye and reported.
“Sir.”
“What is it?”
Commander Xiao Ye turned his head and asked his subordinate.
“Dr. Li Mengqi and Dr. Tingli have been rescued.”
The officer said excitedly.
“What did you say? Weren’t they not found? How were they suddenly rescued?”
Commander Xiao Ye was also very surprised.
“It wasn’t our people who rescued them; it was a student named Su Ming who rescued them. He just returned, so it hasn’t been reported yet.”
The officer replied.
“Su Ming?”
Fleck was also startled when he heard that.
“That’s great! Commander Xiao Ye, give me the coordinates. I’ll meet up with you immediately. Before that, you must ensure their safety.”
General Jessa’s heart instantly soared from the bottom of the valley to heaven, and he shouted excitedly.
“Yes, sir!”
Commander Xiao Ye replied steadily.
After General Jessa finished speaking, he decisively cut off the communication link.
Commander Xiao Ye turned to Angie and said.
“Angie, you stay here and watch. Notify me immediately if there are any problems. I need to go to the hangar to see those two doctors.”
“Yes.”
Angie replied respectfully.
“I’ll go with you.”
Vice Principal Fleck said, with his hands behind his back.
“Alright!”
Colonel Xiao Ye nodded slightly, and the two hurried out of the command room.
Inside the hangar.
Major Gene and the others gathered around Dr. Li Mengqi and Dr. Tingli.
They looked at the two, their hearts filled with mixed emotions. They tried to speak several times, but the words stopped at their lips.
At this moment, more and more people gathered, including many rescued survivors.
At this time, Class 19 teacher, Chen Yue, led his students to stand before Li Mengqi and Tingli, pointing at them and angrily saying,
“How foolish are you? As professionals, don’t you understand that dangerous materials cannot be transported on civilian ships? Do you know how many people died because of your foolish actions? Do you know how many of my students died to save you?”
Opham looked at the emotional Teacher Chen Yue, his expression growing dimmer.
Among all the classes, his and Teacher Chen Yue’s classes suffered the most casualties. The appearance of that Type I Lord-level mutated Kirami was simply too sudden.
At this moment, the surrounding survivors suddenly reacted, all shouting angrily.
“So it was you who brought the monster here! Give me back my wife and child’s lives!”
“It’s all your fault!”
“Murderers!”
In an instant, Su Ming and Mia, along with others, were pushed out by the angry survivors.
“Everyone, calm down!”
Major Gene, seeing how agitated everyone was, quickly tried to persuade them.
Unfortunately, it was of no use; the teachers, students, and survivors present became even more emotional.
“Calm down? How can we calm down? My brother died on that ship.”
“I’m sorry, I’m truly sorry.”
Li Mengqi apologized with great shame.
Teacher Chen Yue replied coldly,
“Is ‘sorry’ useful? Can the dead come back to life?”
“Listen to me—”
Li Mengqi was about to speak when she was directly pushed by an angry survivor, causing her to tilt backward.
Major Gene quickly supported Li Mengqi, shielded her, and tried to persuade everyone.
“Everyone, calm down, don’t use force!”
Unfortunately, the people present did not calm their anger because of Major Gene’s words; instead, their emotions became even more agitated.
At this moment, Dr. Tingli roared in extreme anger.
“Enough!”
In an instant, everyone quieted down.
Tingli looked at the crowd and said angrily,
“Yes, we did violate regulations by using a civilian ship to transfer dangerous materials. But is it all our fault that this outcome occurred today? Are you blameless? What right do you have to accuse us?”
“What did we do wrong? Why can’t we accuse you?”
Many students and survivors present questioned angrily.
“Why? I’ll just ask you, what were you doing after the Neutral Countries had an accident?”
Tingli asked, laughing in exasperation.
Everyone was stunned when they heard Tingli’s words.
“Can’t speak now, can you? Then I’ll answer for you. After the Neutral Countries incident, each of you was selfish, busy sending out ships to salvage your own assets. Who cared about the Federation? You only care about yourselves, you don’t care about the Federation’s survival. We waited for three days in the Aktons Kingdom, which was about to fall, and not a single ship came to pick us up. Should we just watch our experimental results fall into the hands of the Imperial Army?”
“If no ships picked you up, that’s the military’s problem.”
Teacher Chen Yue directly retorted.
“The military? The Imperial Army’s invasion of the Neutral Countries was so sudden; rescue and transfer were needed everywhere. How could the military manage everything at once? If only you had sent ships to help, we wouldn’t have done this! And what about Dr. Li Mengqi and I, risking our lives to research these dangerous organisms? Wasn’t it for the Federation? Hoping that the Federation could one day become strong. And you? Each of you only cares about your own interests, only about yourselves. Has anyone thought about the Federation?”
Tingli replied angrily.
The Royal Court Academy students present, Teacher Chen Yue, and Gene, among others, all fell silent.
Tingli’s words indeed left them speechless, because they were currently heading to the Neutral Countries to recover supplies.
However, some of the survivors present, regardless of what Tingli said, still had red eyes and cursed angrily.
“Don’t tell me any of that! Give me back my wife and child’s lives! It’s all your fault!”
