Chapter Index

Su Ming walked to the desk, picked up a mecha model and looked at it, a slight smile playing on his lips. It seemed his father also enjoyed these things when he was young.

“The Young Master was absolutely obsessed with this when he was little. He even applied to the Mecha Department back then, but unfortunately, he didn’t seem to have the talent for it.”

Jiang Yu said with a hint of emotion.

    “I see.”

Su Ming replied with a smile.

“Young Master, this is for you.”

Jiang Yu thought for a moment, then picked up a personal business card and handed it to Su Ming.

Su Ming took it and saw that the business card read: Thunder Interstellar Heavy Industries Group · Technical Development Supervisor · Jiang Yu.

Then, Jiang Yu smiled and continued speaking to Su Ming.

“I usually work in the Su Family’s main office building. If you have anything, Young Master, you can come directly to the company to find me.”

    “Alright, thank you, Teacher Jiang.”

Su Ming replied with great respect.

    Knock knock ~

At this moment, a knock on the door sounded.

    “Come in!”

Su Ming said, a little surprised.

    Creak!

The door was pushed open, and Butler Anke walked in. He bowed slightly to Su Ming, then politely said,

“Young Master, the Old Master wants you to go to his study.”

Seeing this, Jiang Yu said to Su Ming,

“Young Master, the Old Master is looking for you. I’ll take my leave now.”

    “Teacher Jiang, please take care.”

Su Ming nodded slightly, then followed Butler Anke out.

Soon after, Su Ming followed Anke to the study door.

Anke opened the tightly closed study door and gestured for him to enter.

Su Ming let out a slight breath, then walked into the study.

Inside the study, Su Zhentian was holding a report file, his brows furrowed into a jumbled mess.

    “Grandpa.”

Su Ming walked to the desk and called out respectfully.

Su Zhentian heard Su Ming’s call, then put down the file in his hand and said with a smile,

“Su Ming, come here, next to Grandpa.”

Su Ming walked to Su Zhentian’s side and glanced at the summary report on the table.

He found that it was a financial summary report, and most importantly, this summary report showed a loss.

At the bottom of the table, there were two lines of red notes.

“Gratuitous payment to Thirteenth District, ten Second Generation Mecha · Raiders.”

“Gratuitous payment to Royal Court Order, one Third Generation Mecha · Chaser.”

Su Ming’s lips twitched uncontrollably when he saw these two items. The Su Family’s deficit this year was most likely caused by these two items.

The first item was cleaning up after his father, and the second item was probably also cleaning up after family members.

Being the head of a family was truly difficult. No wonder the Old Master had such a short temper.

“Su Ming, when are you going to school?”

    Su Zhentian asked Su Ming.

“I’m reporting tomorrow, and I might stay at the school to get familiar with the environment first. I’ll come home when I have time.”

Su Ming told Su Zhentian simply and clearly.

“Very good. I remember you applied for the Mecha Department, right?”

    “Yes.”

“You must study hard and never be like your good-for-nothing father.”

    “Alright.”

“You truly are my good grandson. When you graduate, perhaps you and I, grandfather and grandson, can conquer the stars together and carve out a new world!”

Su Zhentian said to Su Ming with great joy.

    “Mm.”

Su Ming looked at the overjoyed Su Zhentian and felt a little emotional. The Old Master was not young anymore, but his fighting spirit was even stronger than that of young people.

“There’s one more thing I need to tell you.”

    “Grandpa, please tell me!”

“When you get to Royal Court Academy, you must study with peace of mind. Never cause trouble, and don’t bully others. Of course, if others bully you, you don’t need to be afraid. We are not afraid of trouble. As long as you are in the right, Grandpa will definitely back you up.”

Su Zhentian earnestly instructed Su Ming.

    “I understand, Grandpa.”

    Su Ming replied very seriously.

Su Zhentian looked at his outstanding grandson and sighed with some emotion.

“If only your father had half of your talent and courage.”

“Grandpa, children and grandchildren have their own fortunes. Although my father is a bit lacking in talent and hasn’t achieved much, he is very satisfied with his current life and lives quite happily.”

Su Ming thought for a moment and subtly spoke well of his father.

Lest Su Zhentian get angrier the more he talked and call his father for another scolding.

“Hmph, of course he’s satisfied. I’m the one cleaning up all his messes. Forget it, let’s not talk about him anymore, the more I talk, the angrier I get!”

Su Zhentian said irritably when he thought of Su Yuan’s cowardly appearance.

    “Grandpa, please calm down.”

“Never mind, it’s nothing. You should go back and rest early.”

“Alright, I’ll take my leave then.”

Su Ming turned awkwardly and left.

A few minutes later, Su Ming returned to his room. He opened his suitcase, took out a change of clothes, and went into the bathroom to wash up.

Not long after, Su Ming emerged from the bathroom in his pajamas and walked towards the window, preparing to close the curtains and sleep.

However, when he reached the window and looked outside, he was completely stunned.

Above the firmament, the vast starry sky was stained with a deep and rich red, and the twinkling stars, seen through the red atmosphere, hung in the sky like burning gems.

Su Ming was instantly captivated by the vast red starry sky, and the blood in his body felt as if it were burning.

Time passed bit by bit, and the night grew deeper.

    The next morning.

A black hovercar sped along the expressway towards Royal Court Academy.

Su Ming sat in the passenger seat, looking out the window as magnificent buildings flashed by.

“Butler Anke, how far are we from the school?”

“Almost there, about half an hour. If you feel tired, Young Master, you can sleep for a while. I’ll wake you when we’re close.”

    Butler Anke said politely.

“No need, the scenery outside is quite nice.”

Su Ming shook his head and continued to look at the scenery outside the window.

Today was the day for reporting to Royal Court Academy. Su Le, being from an external branch, did not live in the Su Family villa, so they didn’t travel together.

As for Su Bin, he was too lazy to travel with Su Ming. He had his father, Su Ying, drive him ahead.

Therefore, the butler was sending Su Ming alone.

However, Su Ming didn’t mind; he didn’t particularly want too much interaction with them either.

At this moment, the hovercar entered a tunnel and drove underground.

“Butler Anke, does passing through this tunnel mean we’ve reached the area where Royal Court Academy is located?”

“That’s right. We’re now leaving the main city. All areas covered by a Dorag Sphere are connected by underground tunnels. In the future, Young Master, if you want to leave Royal Court Academy, you’ll also have to take this route.”

Butler Anke patiently explained to Su Ming.

    “Mm.”

    Su Ming nodded.

At this moment, one after another, very cool, futuristic-looking flying vehicles sped past above and to the sides of the car.

Their speed was so fast that Su Ming couldn’t even clearly see their taillights.

“Is it alright for them to drive so fast?”

Su Ming asked with some interest.
