Chapter Index

Su Ming didn’t pay any further attention to the three stunned individuals and then walked into the bathroom, quickly washing up.

A few minutes later, Su Ming lay on his bed, looking up at the bottom of the bunk above him, pondering over Zhang Tai blocking him.

To be honest, he wasn’t surprised at all that Zhang Tai came to block him. Although sometimes there’s no intersection between people, let alone any animosity.

But when you decide to do something, you have to consider the interests involved. For example, with Zhang Tai, because the original owner of this body pursued Lin Chuyu, whether it succeeded or not, he was always an obstacle to Zhang Tai.

From Zhang Tai’s perspective, Su Ming had damaged his interests. Regardless of whether it was reasonable or not, he would come looking for trouble.

Therefore, when you do something, you must anticipate the consequences and troubles it might bring and whether you can bear them; otherwise, it’s foolish.

This world is just that realistic and cruel. To summarize it simply, it’s survival of the fittest.

Soon, Su Ming slowly closed his eyes and gradually fell into a dream.

    At noon.

Students from Mech Class 3 arrived one after another at the open space outside Teaching Building 1.

A boy with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a vibrant spirit, seeing that most people had arrived, shouted to his classmates.

“Everyone, quickly line up; class is about to start.”

“Mink, even though you’re the class monitor, it’s not time for class yet, and Teacher Tang isn’t here either. Why are you shouting?”

At this moment, a boy with messy hair, dark skin, and a disdainful look in his eyes replied dismissively.

This boy was Chen Tong, the classmate who had previously ridiculed Su Ming in the classroom.

Mink heard Chen Tong’s words and replied impolitely.

“Chen Tong, if you don’t want to line up, don’t affect the other students.”

    “Hmph, bootlicker!”

Chen Tong snorted coldly and muttered.

At this moment, Su Ming walked over, yawning lazily, his spirit a bit listless.

He went to bed too late last night, and he got up at 8:30 AM to review in the dorm. This body was a bit unaccustomed to it.

Just then, Su Ming suddenly felt that the atmosphere was a bit off, so he looked closely.

He found that Class Monitor Mink and Chen Tong were at loggerheads, and the surrounding students instinctively moved away.

A peculiar expression appeared on Su Ming’s face. Is it that lively? Could it be that the weather is gradually getting hotter, and everyone’s tempers are flaring?

Fortunately, at this moment, Teacher Tang hurried over.

Upon seeing him, the students present quickly began to line up.

Chen Tong also snorted coldly and walked to the very end of the line.

Su Ming, meanwhile, found a spot and stood there.

    “Mink, is everyone here?”

    Tang Yan asked Mink.

    “Yes, Teacher.”

    Mink counted briefly and replied.

    “Alright, everyone follow me!”

Tang Yan didn’t procrastinate at all and quickly led the students towards the training teaching building.

The training teaching building is located in the northern corner of the school, one of the most important buildings in the academy. From a distance, one could see many students gathered beneath the grid-like building.

Tang Yan led Su Ming and the others into the teaching building, arriving at Training Room 3 on the 1st floor.

The entire training room covered an area of five hundred square meters, like a large studio, with rows of gray simulated training cabins neatly arranged inside.

Su Ming looked at the training cabins with great interest. These cabins were shaped like cicada pupae, each with an independent number, and bundles of cables connected to their bases.

At this moment, Tang Yan spoke to the many students.

“Everyone, according to your class numbers, find your corresponding simulated training cabin.”

Just as all the students were about to move, Chen Tong suddenly complained.

“Oh, Teacher! Why is it simulated training cabins again? It’s so boring!”

    “What’s interesting then?”

Tang Yan raised an eyebrow, looking at the troublemaker Chen Tong.

Chen Tong spread his hands and said dismissively.

“What’s the use of practicing in a simulated cabin all day? Can’t we get a real one to practice with?”

“What nonsense are you talking about? How can a simulated cabin be useless? During the City Exam, simulated cabins are also used. Why would you need a real one?”

    Tang Yan patiently explained.

“If we could touch a real one, we’d be more motivated, and maybe it would be easier to learn. Does the school not have any?”

Chen Tong smiled and said to Tang Yan.

At this time, many students present also chimed in.

“Yeah! Teacher, can we touch a real one?”

“That’s right, we haven’t touched one yet!”

Hearing this, Su Ming also looked at Tang Yan with anticipation. If he could get his hands on a real one, it would be an unexpected surprise.

Seeing his students’ expectant faces, and with Chen Tong having pushed the matter so far, Tang Yan also found it a bit hard to refuse. Plus, the students in the class he was teaching this year weren’t performing well, and he was a bit anxious, so he gritted his teeth and said,

“You rotten kids really owe me! Everyone, follow me!”

    “Oh yeah!”

    “Teacher Tang is the best.”

Huang Mao and the others cheered loudly.

Tang Yan led the group out of the training teaching building and walked towards the back.

Behind the training teaching building was a steel structure resembling a rectangular warehouse, covering tens of thousands of square meters.

There were many security guards patrolling here, and students were usually not allowed to approach, so Su Ming and the others had never been here before.

As Tang Yan led Su Ming and the others closer, a burly security captain with a scar on his face walked forward.

“Teacher Tang, why are you here? And with so many students?”

“Captain Qian Feng, I’m taking these rotten kids to try out a real machine. Isn’t Training Ground 2 vacant today?”

Tang Yan pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, took out a synthetic cigarette, and handed it to Captain Qian Feng.

Qian Feng took the cigarette from Tang Yan and gave him a thumbs up.

“Teacher Tang is really generous. The real training machines are for special training for elite students, and you’re bringing the whole class over to train.”

    “It’s alright.”

Tang Yan’s expression was a bit stiff.

“Then I won’t disturb your class.”

Qian Feng smiled and then moved aside.

Tang Yan led Su Ming and the others towards the training ground.

A few minutes later, accompanied by the crisp mechanical sound of dripping, the thick alloy door opened.

    Everyone followed Teacher Tang inside.

Soon, the spacious, empty training ground came into view.

Su Ming also looked around curiously.

The entire training ground was over thirty meters high, with a steel frame structure at the top, and the ground was entirely paved with metal square tiles. Observation decks and a small lounge surrounded the walls, and in the middle of the training ground stood five somewhat old training machines.

    “Wow, mechs!”

Huang Mao and the others shouted excitedly. This was their first time seeing real machines.

Su Ming observed the five training mechs with interest. They were about eight meters tall, covered entirely in thick gray outer armor, with a humanoid body, a round head, a cross-shaped display, and a giant mechanical right hand holding a soft rubber model sword.
