Chapter Index

“No need, I don’t have much of an appetite. I’m going back to rest.”

Su Ming replied, suppressing the craving in his heart. He turned and left the dining table, walking towards the stairs.

Soon, Su Ming returned to his room, lay down on the bed, and quietly stared at the ceiling above, his thoughts racing.

He still hadn’t figured out why he had come to this world. And his past memories were a bit hazy.

After he had processed Su Ming’s memories, he even had a strange illusion. It was as if he hadn’t transmigrated; he *was* Su Ming. His past was vivid, making it hard to distinguish between reality and illusion.

    After a long while,

Su Ming sighed helplessly and said,

“Sigh~ Since I’m here, I’ll make the best of it.”

He could only reluctantly accept this reality.

Then he sat up and re-examined his body, muttering to himself.

“What now? This body is too fat. At 175 cm tall, he weighs a full 92.5 kg, and his body fat percentage is probably around 30%. If I want a perfect physique, I need to lose weight down to 67.5 kg, which means losing 25 kg. To lose it in the shortest time possible without harming my body, it would take at least 120 days, meaning every day I have to…”

Su Ming flopped back onto the bed, pondering as he drifted off to sleep.

    The next morning.

In the luxurious living room, Zhao Ning instructed Chen Hui.

“You go keep an eye on the kitchen. When the ingredients arrive…”

    “Mhm, mhm.”

    Chen Hui respectfully replied.

At this moment, Su Ming, dressed in loose sportswear, walked by and greeted Zhao Ning.

    “Mother!”

“Son? You’re up? Where are you going?”

Zhao Ning asked, startled. In her memory, Su Ming had never woken up so early.

    “Running!”

Su Ming responded simply, then jogged away.

He ran out of the door, through the small garden, and onto the concrete road.

Su Ming turned his head to look back at his home. His house was a detached villa, quite impressive even in the rich district.

Su Ming smiled faintly, then turned and jogged forward.

His current location was in the Old Galaxy, Old Federation, Third Planet, Thirteenth District.

The Third Planet was the Old Federation’s main planet. The entire main planet was home to Three Cities and sixteen districts.

The so-called Three Cities referred to the three colossal cities standing on the surface. And the sixteen districts referred to the sixteen major administrative districts located underground.

Since the Third Planet was a Class 5 Habitable Planet (Reference: Habitable planets are graded 1-7, Earth is a Class 6 Habitable Planet), its climate was exceptionally harsh. When it was hot, the surface temperature often reached 60°C year-round, sometimes even higher. When it was cold, it dropped as low as -23°C, sometimes reaching -70°C. The surface was no longer suitable for long-term survival, so most administrative districts were built underground.

Just then, Su Ming ran out of the rich district’s gate. Several chatting noblewomen saw him and immediately began to discuss.

“Isn’t that the Su Family’s little fatty?”

“It is him. I heard he tried to hang himself not long ago; the whole thing caused quite a stir.”

“Heh heh, how embarrassing. You’d think someone as sharp as Zhao Ning would have a smarter son.”

    “Who knows.”

Su Ming ignored the strange looks around him and ran forward at a steady pace.

He ran past towering steel buildings, past bustling plazas, carefully pondering this world.

Although this world’s civilization was somewhat abnormal, it was already relatively very developed. Besides its main planet, the Old Federation also had a large number of directly administered planets and mining planets.

Of course, besides the Old Federation, there were also two other major civilized powers. These were the Empire, Dark Star, Beronka, located in the First New Galaxy, and the Theocracy, Apocalypse Divine Kingdom, Saint Lox, in the Second New Galaxy.

These two civilized powers were stronger than the Old Federation, so the Old Federation’s situation was not very good.

Of course, these two were not the biggest threats. The real threats were the two alien races existing in the universe. One was the Mechanical Clan, composed of silicon-based life forms, and the other was the Kirami, composed of undead life forms.

According to his memories and the information he had found, the Old Federation had been struggling to resist these two races for thousands of years. One could say its survival was extremely arduous. If it were to be annihilated one day, it would not be surprising.

Fortunately, the Old Federation was not the only one facing a crisis; the Dark Star Empire and the Apocalypse Divine Kingdom were in the same predicament. Therefore, although the three parties were at odds, they had reached a temporary peace under the pressure of external enemies.

    Hoo~

Su Ming ran to a towering overpass, leaning against the railing, breathing heavily.

When he looked up and gazed into the distance, he saw towering buildings standing tall, with various uneven structures scattered around. Wide roads wound like ribbons through the city, and aerial corridors connected different areas in mid-air. Anti-gravity flying vehicles shuttled everywhere like meteors.

A brilliant smile appeared on Su Ming’s face, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

He looked up at the sky, seeing a clear blue sky above and a dazzling sun shining brightly.

Of course, Su Ming knew very well that the entire Thirteenth District was a giant underground city. The sky he saw was a false projection, and the dazzling sun was not real, but an artificial sun.

The entire Thirteenth District was divided into an upper layer and a lower layer.

His current location was in the upper layer. The people living in this area were relatively wealthy, so everything seemed beautiful.

But that was not the case; the lower layer was the true reflection.

The Old Federation had a total population of 32 billion people, of which 5.2 billion were permanent residents on the main planet, Third Planet. The Thirteenth District had a population of 210 million, while the upper layer only had 10 million. The rest of the people were all in the lower layer and scattered external areas.

The entire lower layer was densely populated, with old facilities, and resources were extremely scarce. Everyone was struggling to survive.

It’s worth noting that the Old Federation was primarily composed of the Council, the Three City Lords, and the sixteen District Chiefs.

Although the Council decided major affairs for the entire Old Federation, it did not directly govern the Three Cities and sixteen districts. Each region was largely autonomous, possessing significant independent self-governance.

Therefore, the prosperity of a district largely depended on the governance of its respective District Chief.

    One hour later.

Su Ming, covered in sweat, returned home.

Zhao Ning saw Su Ming return and went to meet him, her heart aching.

    “My son, are you tired?”

    “Not bad.”

Su Ming replied, panting. He felt on the verge of collapse. This body was truly too weak. He had originally planned to run for two hours, but he couldn’t continue after a sporadic hour.

But there was nothing he could do; he could only take it slowly and gradually increase his exercise.

“You’ve exercised for so long, you must be hungry, right? Breakfast is ready, and there are also the greens you wanted to eat.”

Zhao Ning pulled Su Ming towards the dining table.

Soon, Su Ming was seated at the dining table. In front of him was a plate of green vegetables, a small amount, only about seven or eight stalks.

Su Ming picked up his chopsticks, took a stalk, and tasted it. The flavor was just so-so. And because he had over-exercised, he had very little appetite now, so he only ate a few stalks and stopped.
