Chapter Index

    Why is KIKI here?

Lin Xian’s expression jolted. As his flashlight shone over, the white monster slowly raised its head, looking at Lin Xian with a strange gaze.

That gaze seemed to hold surprise, as well as confusion.

It was as if it was astonished that Lin Xian could see it.

Lin Xian saw a few strands of KIKI’s hair fluttering and immediately remembered the hair he had seen earlier…

    This hair? Is it KIKI’s?

Could it be that this monster has been standing here from the very beginning?

But why didn’t he see it…

A strange thought flashed through his mind. Lin Xian looked at the silver antenna in his hand and felt his spirit rapidly draining away.

“What the hell is this thing!”

Lin Xian realized something was wrong and directly raised his hand, sending a wind gun at the monster.

    Bang!

The monster’s head was immediately pierced, and a large amount of black gas erupted. It shrieked in terror, spreading its wings as if trying to catch the dissipating black gas.

At this moment, the girl in its arms also slid to the ground.

    It hit?!

Lin Xian was a little surprised, but he didn’t have time to think. He immediately moved and rushed over to save KIKI.

The monster’s black gas billowed out more and more, its whole body seeming to leak, gradually forming a huge cloud of smoke that enveloped the entire car 1.

Lin Xian covered his mouth and nose and rushed in. The moment he came into contact with the black fog, the world spun.

    Whoosh~

    Whoosh~

It was as if he had fallen into a bottomless abyss, a strong sense of weightlessness washing over him.

Breaking through the black fog, Lin Xian suddenly woke up, only to find that the scene before him had completely changed!

The desolate city under the dark, cloudy night looked both familiar and strange. On the distant city skyline, a neat row of signal lights flickered like breathing, outlining a towering steel defensive line that encircled the entire city. The faint light was like a beacon in the human world, exuding a sense of oppression amidst its solemnity.

On the roof of a tall building in the city center, Lin Xian opened his eyes and looked at the strange, magnificent existence.

    Above the sky.

A giant, desiccated humanoid corpse floated in mid-air at a downward angle, blotting out the sun. The upper half of its torso, visible above the clouds, was at least over 10 kilometers long by visual estimation!

The giant floating corpse was motionless, like a floating continent. Its entire body was gray-black, and one could even clearly see the dry, wrinkled skin like deep valleys and ravines. Its pitch-black, empty eyes held no life, and it floated above the city with a strange sense of oppression.

A strange whisper sounded in his ear. Lin Xian slowly raised his head and looked into the abyss-like eyes of the giant corpse…

In the car of the Infinity, parked in the snowy plains, the atmosphere was extremely tense.

Chen Sixuan, Shasha, and Dalou watched as Lin Xian bizarrely disappeared before them, their faces all changing drastically.

“Brother Lin is gone?!” Shasha cried out.

Dalou’s face was also filled with shock, having no idea what had just happened.

    “Ah!”

    “Lin Xian! Lin Xian?!”

    Chen Sixuan shouted in panic.

    No response.

A living person, Lin Xian, had vanished into thin air right before their eyes.

    “What’s going on?”

“The 1542 radio, yes, that’s it. Sister KIKI told me about it after she came back that day,” Shasha said in a panic. “Oh my god, has Brother Lin gone missing too??”

    Chen Sixuan’s face turned pale.

    Thump! Thump-thump…

    “Sister Chen, listen…”

Shasha looked at the floor of the car in alarm. “Someone is walking!!”

Thump, thump, thump, thump. The three of them backed away. The sound of footsteps grew faster and faster, moving from car 2 towards the driver’s cabin. But it paused for a moment by KIKI’s bed, then continued forward.

    Thump-thump… Thump-thump

The sound stopped for a moment in the distant driver’s cabin, then began to return.

“Damn it!!” Chen Sixuan’s brow furrowed, her face now full of alarm.

“Could that sound be Brother Lin?” Lou Shasha tried waving her hand in the air, but found she couldn’t touch anything. “Is Brother Lin invisible? Why do I feel like he’s still on the train?”

“Could it really be this radio’s doing?”

    “Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle…”

At this moment, the radio still displayed the frequency number 1542, and a faint electric current sound continuously came from the speaker.

The few of them quieted down, and they could seemingly hear a faint sound of wind from inside.

“Sister Chen, this thing, should we turn it off…”

    Shasha said fearfully.

Chen Sixuan also felt her hair stand on end. She looked at the radio on the sofa, then decisively walked over and turned off the switch!

But strangely, even though she had turned off the switch, the numbers on the frequency display remained lit.

“Oh my god, it’s still on!!” Shasha exclaimed.

    “What’s going on?!”

Then the three of them retreated together, looking at the radio with wary faces.

    Whoosh~!

At this moment, the lights in the car suddenly brightened for an instant, and then the engine of the Circumstellar 7F electric locomotive suddenly roared to life.

Click, clack, clack, all the sun visors lowered, and the gates opened!

Bright light poured into the car, dispelling the darkness.

    Beep, beep~ Beep, beep

    4:05 PM

    The sky had brightened.

Seeing this, Chen Sixuan’s expression changed, and she immediately said, “It’s Lin Xian! He’s operating the train!”

    “He’s on this train!”

The sky was bright now, but the three of them felt a chill run through their bodies.

“Yes, Brother Lin must be doing this for a reason.”

“But why can’t we see him?” Shasha kept grabbing at the empty air, but there was nothing.

Shasha turned around, and her expression suddenly changed. “Look, Sister KIKI is bleeding again.”

Chen Sixuan turned her head and saw that bright red blood was indeed flowing from KIKI’s nostrils again. She immediately ran over.

    “Shasha, get some water!”

The three of them were at a loss due to the strange situation. Lin Xian had disappeared, and KIKI’s condition was critical again. Everyone’s heart was in their throat.

Shasha lifted KIKI’s eyelid and found that her pupil was almost completely covered by the black ink, and her breathing had become even weaker.

“What do we do? Sister KIKI seems to be getting worse!”

Chen Sixuan looked at this scene, her brow deeply furrowed. She said anxiously, “Quick, where’s that red bead?”

Dalou, behind Shasha, looked back and said in a low voice, “It’s gone. Brother Xian took it off just now.”

“Oh no, that Anomaly Blood Crystal is really gone.” Shasha quickly walked to the sofa and searched left and right, but she couldn’t find the red bead.

    Bang!

Just then, the radio suddenly made a clicking sound. The frequency numbers on it flashed crazily for a moment, then slowly went out.

The sudden noise startled the two girls, and Dalou also took two steps back, his face full of vigilance.

    “It turned off??”

    “What happened…”

Chen Sixuan was truly frightened by this scene. She quickly said, “It must be Lin Xian doing something. I also feel that he is on this train. Perhaps he has encountered some trouble. Shasha, quick, let’s spread out. Maybe Lin Xian deliberately made these movements to get our attention. Maybe he needs our help.”

Shasha nodded repeatedly upon hearing this, her face full of nervousness. “Yes, that makes sense. I’ll go to the car over there and watch.”

“Okay, I’ll watch KIKI. You guys guard over there.”

The three of them immediately began to act separately.

In car 1, Chen Sixuan frowned as she looked at KIKI, whose condition was gradually worsening on the bed, and then at the clear sky and snowy plains outside, her face filled with unease.

If Lin Xian had really disappeared, then their escape journey would be over.

Right now, the only thing they could do, it seemed, was wait…
