Chapter Index

Lin Xian felt the world was a chaotic mess. His head was filled with the sound of ringing, and his nose caught a damp, rotten smell in the air that made him frown.

He didn’t know if he was still on the train, because not even the train’s bathroom smelled this bad.

He slowly woke up to a hazy darkness. In his vision, he seemed to be in some kind of dark prison.

A thin, dark figure sat in a corner not far from him. Lin Xian focused his gaze and saw a young girl of about thirteen or fourteen, hugging her legs as she sat in the corner. Her figure was noticeably thin from malnutrition, but it couldn’t hide the bright sparkle in her brilliant eyes.

She seemed to be waiting for something.

    “KIKI?”

Lin Xian was startled when he saw this person. His mind felt completely jumbled.

How did KIKI turn into a little girl?

Alright, she was already a little girl, but not this young in Lin Xian’s memory…

    “Hey, kid.”

He called out, but the girl didn’t answer him.

Lin Xian suppressed the confusion in his heart, got up, and began to examine his surroundings. He walked to the iron gate and found that it was some kind of electronically controlled mechanical lock. He placed his hand on it, activated his Mechanical Heart, and instantly found the circuit path.

But this time, he couldn’t open the electric gate no matter what.

    “What’s going on?!”

Lin Xian looked at his hand. Could his ability have failed?

And wasn’t he on the train? How did he suddenly appear in this godforsaken place?

What was that terrifying giant corpse in the sky he had just seen?

Who was this person in front of him who looked so much like KIKI?

Everything made Lin Xian feel mentally disoriented.

    Clang!

At that moment, the sound of an iron gate opening came from the distance.

    Someone was coming.

The KIKI hiding in the shadows seemed to tremble at the sound. Lin Xian looked back and saw that the girl’s eyes were filled with panic and unease.

Following the approaching sound of several pairs of leather shoes, a few men in uniforms and large hats walked over.

Lin Xian’s expression turned grim, and he secretly prepared his Wind Cannon.

The leader was a middle-aged man. His gaze swept over, seemingly not seeing Lin Xian at all, and landed on KIKI.

    “Is it her?”

    “That’s her.”

    “Take her away…”

    “305, open the door.”

    Beep!

The sound of the electric lock buzzed, and the iron gate slowly opened. Two of the men in hats walked in and lifted KIKI up, one on each side.

Lin Xian got up, ready to act, but his raised fist stopped in mid-air.

    Because he discovered something.

    Everyone.

    Couldn’t see him at all!

    “What’s going on?”

The still-shaken Lin Xian had an incredibly complicated expression. He suppressed his impulse, thought carefully, and seemed to understand that he was likely in some kind of mental world.

As if sensing something, when KIKI was taken away, Lin Xian saw the scene outside the iron bars suddenly change.

It was like being in a dark movie theater.

He saw KIKI being taken to a strange room, sitting on a stool. A woman holding a file stood in front of her, seemingly talking to her about something.

    “Your name is Zhao Enqi?”

“Yes,” KIKI replied in a low voice.

“What is your relationship with Zhao Lu?”

    “No relationship.”

“But the files show that she is your biological mother. She disappeared eight years ago after sending you to the Yulan Orphanage.”

“What do you people want to ask…”

The woman continued to ask, “What do you know about her?”

    KIKI still didn’t speak.

The woman was silent for a moment, then said, “From Zhao Lu’s file, we found someone who might be your father. Do you want to meet him?”

KIKI’s eyes were blank, and she didn’t even raise her head.

    “Oh…”

The woman was taken aback for a moment, then continued, “Your father’s surname is Wen. He’s the boss of the Linglong Group, the richest man in this city.”

“Then I’ve struck it rich, haven’t I?” KIKI said with her head bowed, but there was not a trace of joy in her voice.

“I’ve read your file. You ran away from the orphanage at the age of 8 and lived by swindling in the old city district. You taught yourself programming just to steal money from ATMs. You’ve been in detention 19 times in 6 years. What a disgraceful record.” The woman’s tone was filled with contempt. “I never thought a piece of trash like you would have such good luck, suddenly having a father like that. You must be very proud.”

KIKI’s eyes were defiant, but she remained silent.

“Also, a week ago, we found your mother Zhao Lu’s body near the Lucheng sewage plant. Based on the state of decomposition, she has been dead for at least 20 days.”

Hearing this, KIKI’s fingers trembled almost imperceptibly. She still said nothing, her eyes empty, her expression neither happy nor sad.

The scene changed. On the bank of a certain sewage plant, a group of thugs were beating a woman.

They punched and kicked her. The woman was already bruised and swollen, spitting out bloody foam, a miserable sight. Her heart-wrenching screams were terrifying.

“You fucking bitch, speak up! Where’s your daughter!”

A young man in a black suit kicked the woman hard in the abdomen. “You think we can’t find her if you don’t tell us?!”

    “I don’t know… I really don’t know…” the woman begged miserably.

However, an even more frenzied beating followed.

Before long, the woman gradually stopped resisting, her entire face covered in blood…

    “Can you help me?”

At that moment, a light, hollow voice sounded from behind him. Lin Xian spun around and saw that the thin figure had appeared again in the corner not far behind him. That beautiful, lively little face was hidden in the shadows, her gaze seemingly pleading with Lin Xian for help.

Lin Xian’s expression hardened, as if he understood.

“Do you know who I am?”

“You’re here to help me,” KIKI replied.

“Help you with what?” Lin Xian asked with a frown.

KIKI pointed her finger at the thugs on the bank. “Help me kill them…”

Lin Xian frowned. “Who are you?”

    “I’m KIKI.”

The girl raised her head, her gaze fixed on him from within the shadows.

Lin Xian’s expression sank. He flipped his hand, and his Mechanical Heart activated. Soon, a fully loaded Glock 23 pistol was created by him. After disassembling many materials and damaged guns, he could now manufacture this most basic type of pistol. The only problem was the limited number of bullets.

The thin girl looked at the gun in Lin Xian’s hand with a hint of surprise.

She looked at Lin Xian and said slowly, “Thank you.”

At that moment, KIKI suddenly appeared on the bank.

“Hey, why is there a little girl over there?” A man with a fierce face looked over and saw KIKI standing alone in the distance.

The group stopped their beating, and all eyes turned to her.

KIKI raised her right hand, making a gun shape with her index finger and thumb.

“What’s this girl trying to do?”

    “Is she stupid?”

The girl’s eyes were deep, her face as calm as still water, her expression neither sad nor happy. She said lightly, “Bang.”

In an instant, gunpowder smoke erupted. A spray of blood burst from the back of the man’s head, and he fell to the ground, dead.

“Holy shit, she has a gun!”

    “Get her!”

The girl’s face was expressionless, her eyes filled with deep hatred. She kept muttering, “Bang, bang~”

    “Kill them… kill them all!”

A strange whisper sounded in the girl’s ear.

Bullets mercilessly pierced through the flesh of several men, who let out shrill screams!

In an instant, their faces were riddled with bullet holes, and bits of flesh flew everywhere
