Chapter Index

    Rumble!

Under the dark night, the sky suddenly split open, and a silver lightning bolt tore through the darkness, echoing in the dark clouds in the sky.

    A torrential downpour began.

A black, giant armored train was parked at the freight station of Rain Town. On the station, many human figures had strangely appeared.

They stood motionless in the rain, male or female, old or young, all looking at the train.

This scene made everyone on the train feel a chill.

Because although these people outside looked almost identical to ordinary humans, everyone could feel a cold, dead aura, without any warmth. Some of the human skins had unnatural wrinkles, while others were stretched too tightly, revealing strange protrusions.

These ‘people’ stared at the Infinity, and their lips began to slowly curl into a bizarre smile.

On the Infinity, everyone looked at these suddenly appearing figures, and the air seemed to freeze.

The rain kept hitting the train’s armor, making a humming sound.

Lin Xian sensed that something was wrong. He quietly signaled to the others. KIKI, Chen Sixuan, Shu Qin, and others understood his intention.

Then, Lin Xian slowly raised his right hand and made a gesture of preparing to clench his fist.

At this moment, the motionless people outside the train began to open their mouths at the same time. Under the seemingly ordinary human faces, there were all bloody mouths full of sharp teeth, and a large number of red tentacles extended from their throats.

“Go!” Lin Xian clenched his fist and shouted.

    Clang!

The Infinity instantly shook. As Lin Xian’s Mechanical Heart operated, the motors of the nuclear-powered electric locomotive began to hum, and the gas turbine locomotive also began to roar.

    Vroom~

The train started instantly. Lin Xian shouted, “Grab your weapons, prepare for battle!”

KIKI was the first to act. Clenching her silver teeth, she rushed forward and unleashed her Esper ability with all her might!

    Boom!

A huge shockwave exploded, forming a hollow vacuum area in the heavy rain, instantly scattering and sending the crowd standing on the station flying.

The others did not hesitate. Shu Qin led her people and ran directly towards the rear cars. Da Lou and Shasha picked up their guns and ran to car number 2 and car number 5 respectively.

    Thump, thump, thump!

Before the train could pick up speed, a large number of Impersonators had already rushed out of the darkness. They were extremely fast and quickly climbed onto the train. The tentacles in their mouths clung to the armor, and then they extended their sharp claws and began to frantically tear at the armor plates.

A fat Impersonator’s bloody skin had already dissolved. It slowly climbed onto the roof of car number 3. Red parasites flowed like liquid from its fleshy skin, and then they began to drill into the gaps and textures of the roof armor, gnawing at the roof skin.

    Rustle, rustle, rustle.

Fortunately, car number 3 and car number 4 were originally Cole-3 biological science research cabins, manufactured to extremely high specifications, with excellent airtightness. Compared to the other passenger cabins, there were almost no gaps to drill into. The red worms could only frantically gnaw at the outer metal layer, making a scalp-numbing rustling sound.

Ding Junyi listened to the huge commotion on the roof. She looked at the Hell Black Chrysanthemum, whose red light was getting brighter, her expression changing, as if she was thinking about something.

The train drove out of the freight station, and a large number of Impersonators clung to the train. Chen Sixuan stood in the cockpit at this moment, her expression urgent.

“Lin Xian, it’s night now. If we drive out, will we…”

“I know,” Lin Xian said with a grave expression. “I guess our calamity plant has attracted the attention of those things. There’s no other way.”

With dark Aberrations blocking the front and Impersonators chasing from behind, the biological threat of the lantern flower in the small town was definitely not low. Lin Xian was in a dilemma. But the Impersonator invasion just now was really frightening. For a moment, he even thought KIKI was already dead. At this moment, he couldn’t think too much and could only flee headlong.

    Boom!

In the car behind, KIKI, who was already exhausted, ran towards car number 3 with a pale face and directly unleashed a shockwave at the roof.

In an instant, the red parasites were all sent flying. The fat Impersonator whose outer skin had dissolved was directly turned into a milky white corpse fluid, splashing onto the tracks in the pouring rain. The skeleton rolled off the roof.

“Thank you,” Ding Junyi said to her.

KIKI took a breath, waved her hand, and turned to run towards the cockpit.

Just now in the chemical plant, she had used up most of her energy. Plus, during the day in the movie theater, KIKI was already extremely tired. But now that the train had rushed into the night, she had to stay focused, because the situation last night was very likely to happen again!

    Voom~

Her psionic power pushed away the two Impersonators at the front of the train, and they fell onto the tracks and were instantly crushed by the wheels.

“Lin Xian, if we drive out, there will definitely be a lot of monsters!” KIKI ran over in a hurry and said.

“I know.” Lin Xian looked back at the pale-faced KIKI. “I’ve equipped the weapon station with a round of ammunition. If we get surrounded later, you find the right time and blast a way out!”

KIKI reacted upon hearing this and nodded. “Oh right, I almost forgot. Then I’ll go deploy it right away.”

In the cockpit, Chen Sixuan looked at the darkness ahead. “We can merge into the main track in 10 minutes. I just don’t know if those things will follow us after we leave the town’s range.”

“If this small town’s range is really the territory of that lantern monster, then they probably won’t continue to chase.”

Lin Xian said, “But we can’t compare these dark creatures. As far as we can see, our No. 1 Blood Calamity Plant definitely has some special attraction to these Impersonator parasites, so we have to be prepared for the worst.”

Chen Sixuan frowned slightly upon hearing this. “It sounds like the monster in the chemical plant you mentioned is like the mother of these Impersonator parasites?”

    “Definitely!”

KIKI patted her chest and caught her breath. “Sister Chen, you didn’t see how many skinned flesh and bone we saw in the pool of that chemical plant. That scene was really terrifying.”

Lin Xian nodded. “That’s right. That thing can make these flesh and bone be controlled by parasites to chase us. That means the Impersonators in this town are probably related to that monster. It’s very likely the mother!”

    Boom, bang!

In their anxiety, the train suddenly shook violently, as if it had been pulled by something. The huge inertia made the three people in the cockpit unsteady and almost fall.

KIKI was quick-witted. She raised her hand and used her psionic power to stabilize the three of them, thus avoiding falling onto the control panel.

    “What’s the situation behind?!”

Lin Xian immediately shouted into the communicator.

“Brother Lin, there’s a snake!” Shasha shouted in the communicator.

    Boom~

Before they could react, the headlights in front of them illuminated a huge cylindrical black shadow in the woods that quickly drilled into the darkness. Lin Xian and Chen Sixuan both saw it. It was a monster as thick as a bucket. They couldn’t tell if it was a tentacle or a snake, and they had no idea how long it was.

“Have we already left the town’s area??” KIKI exclaimed.

    Rat-tat-tat, bang, bang, bang!

Gunfire erupted in the dark night. The rear cars were already engaged in a firefight!

    Aargh!

    Screech!~

Almost at the same time, terrifying screams rose and fell in the dark valley.

Thump, thump, thump. The Impersonators climbing on the outside of the rear cars didn’t leave at all. They kept climbing towards the roof and the front of the train, and at the same time, they began to attack by extending their tentacles into the glowing grille armor plates.

“They’re here after all!” Lin Xian’s expression became stern. “Accelerate, rush out!”

Just as he was about to accelerate with all his might, Ding Junyi, dressed in white, walked over quickly. She held onto the wall of the corridor and said to Lin Xian with a grave expression,

“Lin Xian, I strongly suggest we stop moving forward, otherwise…”

    “It might accelerate our demise!”
