Chapter Index

    “What do you mean?”

Lin Xian’s gaze turned to the strange calamity plant. He hadn’t paid much attention to it before, but now, after Ding Junyi’s reminder, he realized that the flower was indeed… redder.

“It’s not your imagination.” Ding Junyi seemed to have guessed what Lin Xian was thinking. She picked up her mobile terminal, pulled up a set of comparison data, and handed it to Lin Xian.

“The red light, the opening and closing of the stamen, have all changed significantly.”

Lin Xian looked at the monitoring comparison on the mobile terminal and immediately frowned.

“So what does this mean? The flower has bloomed?”

Ding Junyi adjusted her glasses. “The No. 1 Blood Calamity Plant was in the lab for 21 days before we left the underground city. During that time, there were no changes. The first change occurred on the night we left Underground City No. 9. At first, I thought it was some kind of growth stage, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t until last night, after we left Yubei Spaceport, that its stamen opened and closed significantly, and the red light it emitted increased by at least 50%.”

Lin Xian was completely confused. “And then?”

“That’s it.” Ding Junyi put her hands in her pockets and said calmly, “The No. 1 Blood Calamity Plant is a valuable asset on the train. I need to inform you of this situation. If you want me to make some kind of analysis, I can only say that there are many conjectures.”

“For example, as you just said, this is indeed a sign of the plant’s maturity. I also lean toward this judgment. But these two changes are related to the major events we have experienced, and the change in this red light is not continuous or predictable. So there are other conjectures, such as it being related to environmental changes, or having a certain connection with Aberrations and dark-side energy.”

Lin Xian nodded upon hearing this, his gaze sweeping over the Hell Black Chrysanthemum. “As long as it doesn’t turn into a monster on the train, it seems acceptable.”

After speaking, Lin Xian seemed to have thought of something. He immediately went to car number one and took out a bottle of water from a storage cabinet.

This bottle of water was what he had asked Chen Sixuan to fill with the water purifier before entering Yubei City. The purpose was to test the shielding effect of the Isomorphic Cube against the power of the dark invasion. But after entering Yubei City, they encountered a series of troubles, and he had forgotten about it.

Opening the bottled water, Lin Xian took out a water quality tester and directly tested it.

    Beep.

A green light lit up on the tester, and Lin Xian’s eyebrows immediately raised.

    “As expected!”

Lin Xian looked at the Isomorphic Cube placed on the wall, his eyes burning. “It can shield against the polluting power of the dark invasion. It’s truly a divine artifact. If that’s the case, then even with more people on the train, we shouldn’t have to worry about anyone getting infected and corrupted, causing chaos from within.”

Breathing a sigh of relief, Lin Xian checked the time and returned to the cockpit to prepare for departure.

“Everyone, pay attention. Those crows are afraid of fire. Don’t shoot later, so as not to attract more. Just close all your windows and follow the Infinity.”

Lin Xian spoke to everyone on the convoy’s walkie-talkie channel.

    “Roger,” everyone responded in unison.

“Lu Xingchen, it’s your time to shine.”

The first person Lin Xian thought of when he heard that the crows were afraid of fire was Lu Xingchen. Shu Qin’s convoy didn’t have any flamethrowers. Using guns against these creatures would be a complete waste of bullets, and the sound of gunfire might trigger a chain reaction.

“Afraid of fire? Hehehe, fire is the bane of all demons and evil spirits in the world. This venerable one is responsible for cleansing these demonic creatures. Do not worry, I will take action.”

KIKI and the others couldn’t help but frown when they heard the narcissistic voice on the walkie-talkie.

    “This guy is too narcissistic.”

In car number five, Da Lou couldn’t help but look up at Lu Xingchen speechlessly when he heard what he said on the walkie-talkie.

At this moment, Lu Xingchen was standing in front of the large mirror, constantly striking various poses.

“God’s Cross Fire!” Lu Xingchen made a gesture with his hands, crossing his ten fingers, and then looked in the mirror, constantly adjusting. “No, no…”

Then he placed the cross in front of his left eye. “It looks a bit creepy.”

Then he placed it on his chest, but was still not satisfied. “Too evil, doesn’t suit this venerable one’s style.”

So he simply flattened his hands and made a gesture of pointing at someone with crossed fingers. But when he saw himself in the mirror, he couldn’t help but click his tongue.

“Why is it getting more and more flamboyant!”

    “Change it, change it…”

    Da Lou: “…”

    Clank.

The iron gate of the maintenance workshop opened, and the Infinity, towing two trains, slowly drove out. The rusty tracks let out a whining sound. The seven vehicles of Shu Qin’s group also started their engines. The people in the cars looked nervous as they drove out from the driveway and then turned onto the tracks at the fork.

The main Circinus Line used a wide, hard-surfaced metal track. Some sections could be directly used for electromagnetic acceleration and maglev travel. Driving a car on it was almost like driving on flat ground, with not much pressure.

    Caw, caw~

The sound of the vibrating tracks instantly startled a large flock of black corpse crows on the hillside, which took to the air like a cloud of black dust, flying toward the train.

“Everyone, pay attention, we’re accelerating! The cars behind just follow and don’t fall behind. We’ll find a way to deal with the crows!”

    Vroom~

The motor of the Gemini 11R nuclear-powered electric locomotive began to roar, and along with the internal combustion engine of the Whale gas turbine, it began to accelerate frantically!

On the other side, Lin Xian had already arranged for Lu Xingchen to be at the rear of the train, responsible for covering the convoy behind.

    Thud, thud, thud~

The startled corpse crows from the roadside began to fly out frantically, crashing into the front of the Infinity. In an instant, black feathers and shredded flesh exploded everywhere. The crows let out ear-piercing shrieks and crashed into the train with no regard for their lives.

Countless black nematodes flew out from the shattered crow corpses and landed on the front of the train and the portholes, crawling around and making one’s scalp tingle.

    “KIKI!”

Lin Xian had specifically called KIKI to the front to deal with this situation.

“Eww~” KIKI looked at the dense mass of worms with a disgusted expression. She pushed her hand forward, and an invisible psionic shield instantly pushed the black nematodes away. The crows that crashed into them later all hit the invisible air shield, completely unable to get close to the front of the train.

Seeing this, Lin Xian instructed, “Good! Just like that!”

Lin Xian had Chen Sixuan and KIKI take charge of driving and blocking the crows in front, while he rushed to the rear of the train.

    Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The sky full of corpse crows roared like an avalanche. A large number of them began to crash into the sides and roof of the train. Above Shu Qin’s convoy at the rear, the sky was full of swooping crows.

    “Fire Fist!”

    Boom!

A huge pillar of fire blasted across the roof of the train, creating a high-temperature wave of flames. A large number of crows were instantly swallowed by the flames, burning with a white flame like saltpeter, accompanied by a crisp cracking sound.

    Pop, pop, pop, pop!

In an instant, a chain reaction was triggered in the air. Waves of fire spread out, engulfing the sky full of crows!

    “Ah!!!”

Faced with the sky full of fire, many people in Shu Qin’s convoy screamed in terror as the high temperature instantly pressed down on them.

    Clink, clink, clink!

Several grappling hooks flew out from the train, accurately hooking onto the tow hitches of several vehicles. Lin Xian opened the hatch from the empty car at the rear and then attached all the cars to the train’s tow hooks!

    “The fire isn’t big enough!”

Lin Xian shouted at Lu Xingchen!

“Then let’s burn the whole city!”

Lu Xingchen shouted grandly. He stood up and leaped out of the car door, stepping on the tow chain Lin Xian had created. Then, he shot fire downwards from his hands, using the reverse thrust to fly up with a roar!

He leaped into the high sky, looking at the crow flock that was like a dark cloud, his eyes cold and the corners of his mouth slightly raised. He crossed his hands in front of his chest.

    “God’s Incinerating Heaven!”

    Boom!

A fiery explosion radiated from his body, like an exploding fire cloud, with scorching waves rising!

Lin Xian frowned as he watched this scene and said speechlessly, “This guy, don’t even think about getting any clothes to wear in the future.”
