Chapter Index

    Luo City.

    Night.

In an inn, a black-robed elder slowly knocked on a room door.

“Who is it?” a voice asked from within.

“First there was my Hui, then there was Heaven!” the black-robed elder at the door said in a low voice.

“We are all people of the Shehui!” Inside the room, the countersign was given.

This was a secret code invented by His Highness the Demon Lord. Although they didn’t know what it meant, since the response was correct, it meant they were one of their own.

The door opened, and the black-robed elder entered the inn room.

“Black翁 [Hei Weng], what’s the situation?”

As soon as the black-robed man sat down, the others in the room asked anxiously.

Everyone in the room was a great cultivator at the second level of the Nascent Soul realm. Even in a top-tier sect, they would be considered elders, and could even establish their own sects.

The black-robed elder gulped down a cup of water.

“The situation is not optimistic. That thousand-year-old hag from the Violet Mist Holy Land knows that our Myriad Demons Sect has not yet welcomed back His Highness the Demon Lord.

“Not only that, but she also took the lead in issuing a Demon-Slaying Order. Now, the entire Myriad Laws Domain is searching for His Highness! What’s even more detestable is that the old hag made a promise.

“Whoever can capture His Highness alive can choose any one of the Violet Mist Holy Land’s divine weapons!”

“Capture him alive? Why capture him alive? It’s not like His Highness blew up her old nest.”

“He certainly did not, but His Highness once challenged her to a battle in the wilds near the Violet Mist Holy Land and hung her up for a beating!

“He even tied a bow on her at the time!” another black-robed elder added.

“So this time, her wanting to capture His Highness alive is probably to torture him! To make his life a living hell!”

    “This is going too far!”

A black-robed man slammed his palm heavily on the table!
“Other demonic paths are other demonic paths, our Myriad Demons Sect is our Myriad Demons Sect! What’s wrong with our Myriad Demons Sect?!

“So what if we have dual cultivation techniques? What’s wrong with proving the Dao by learning foreign languages? Why can’t one prove the Dao by drinking? Why can’t one prove the Dao by sleeping? All ten thousand methods under the heavens can be used to prove the Dao! On what grounds do they call us a crooked and evil path!
“Breaking out in a cold sweat on a hot day, my hands and feet are freezing. Can this world get any better?

“How exactly does the Myriad Demons Sect have to live for you all to be satisfied?

“Tears are streaming down my face uncontrollably. This world is filled with oppression against our Myriad Demons Sect. When will our Myriad Demons Sect ever be able to truly stand up!”

“Long Tao, don’t get excited! Believe in us! We will definitely find His Highness!” another person patted his shoulder comfortingly.

“That’s right. His Highness is currently suffering from the backlash of the Great Dao and is being hunted by those so-called righteous path cultivators. He must be in an extremely difficult situation! We must find His Highness as soon as possible! And if we don’t find him soon, the Saintess will probably go mad!”

“And we must be careful. Back then, His Highness’s brilliance was too dazzling, he had almost no rivals. Now that something has happened to His Highness, and the Demon Master also entered a death seclusion a year ago, the situation is extremely unfavorable.”

“Furthermore, the various factions within the Myriad Demons Sect are relatively independent. They all have their own ambitions. They are certainly hoping for His Highness’s death right now.”

As they spoke, the elders all sighed, realizing just how numerous the difficulties were.

“Alright, let’s just focus on our own work. Let’s start with this town! Use this to conduct a carpet search!”

With that, Old Man Hei took out something that looked like a painted skin.

Gradually, the painted skin began to inflate, finally taking on the form of a woman!

Old Man Hei then took out a talisman and stuck it on. The talisman merged with the painted-skin woman, and she actually transformed into a lifelike, seductive woman!

Starting that night, with less than a week until the Lantern Festival, every household in Luo City was originally preparing to celebrate its arrival. The various shops had also hung up red lanterns, with one red silk ribbon after another.

    However, an accident occurred.

Every morning, men could be seen in the small streets and alleys, pantsless, pale-faced, and unconscious!

These men’s lives were not in danger, but they had lost too much yang energy! For the lighter cases, they wouldn’t be able to raise the flag for two years. For the more severe cases, their performance would be directly reduced from one minute to thirty seconds!

After investigation and questioning, they all had one thing in common: while walking on the streets at night, they would encounter a seductive woman who would lure them into a small alley.

When they woke up, they would be lying bare-assed in the streets and alleys.

In less than two days, the number of victims grew, almost increasing exponentially! A legend of a succubus began to circulate in Luo City!
Both men and women became worried about this “night succubus.”

    Especially the married women.

Once night fell, they absolutely refused to let their husbands go out!

Although this succubus wouldn’t take a person’s life, if one were to encounter her, the best-case scenario was still no intimate exchanges between husband and wife for two years. Who could stand that!
Another day passed, and victims began to appear even during the daytime.

At this point, the number of men on the streets of Luo City was already sparse, it was almost like a kingdom of women.

Thus, Luo City, which should have been getting more and more lively as the Lantern Festival approached, was now nearly empty at night, except for single dogs deliberately wandering the streets.
This caused the women in the city who sold “seafood” [a slang for prostitutes] to curse their bad luck.

    “Night succubus? A curfew?”

Looking at the notice from the Luo City government office, Lin Xun was a bit baffled.
“Yes, everyone has been on edge these past few days. It seems to be the fault of that night succubus. But husband, you don’t need to worry too much. The City Lord’s manor has already taken measures. That whatever-succubus will be dealt with soon, and the Lantern Festival will be held as scheduled.”

Jiang Qingshang comforted him. Although she appeared calm on the surface, she was already frowning inwardly.

Never mind some night succubus! Even if that Lin Xun came, if he dared to ruin her and her husband’s trip to the Lantern Festival, she would make him see blood!

“Don’t worry, I won’t go anywhere,” Lin Xun promised.

However, Lin Xun didn’t feel at ease in his heart and planned to help the Luo City Lord with this small matter.

The next day, Jiang Qingshang went to the City Lord’s manor to “work.”

Just as Jiang Qingshang walked into the City Lord’s office, a graceful figure pounced over, tightly hugging the young woman’s soft body.

“Qingshang… what should I do? There are too many of those night succubi… If this continues, I’m afraid we’ll have to cancel the Lantern Festival.”

“It’s alright.” Jiang Qingshang smiled at her best friend. “I’ll help you.”

“Really?” The Luo City Lord, named Qu Ke, blinked her eyes as she looked at the stunningly beautiful young woman.

“Really.” Jiang Qingshang smiled, a hint of slyness in her eyes as she stroked her pretty face. “But first, we need to go buy a set of men’s clothes.”

    “Buy men’s clothes?”

Soon, Qu Ke understood what was going on.

Dressed in men’s clothes, Qu Ke was like a little white rabbit, picked up by Jiang Qingshang and thrown directly into a dark alley.

After his wife left, Lin Xun also changed his clothes.

He glanced at the “clothesline pole” in the courtyard, thought for a moment, and decided there was no need to bring it.

Walking on the town’s streets, Lin Xun deliberately chose dark, deserted alleys to walk through. This way, he could avoid running into Qing’er and also lure out the so-called night succubus.

Sure enough, just as Lin Xun was wandering about, he heard the tinkling laughter of a woman.

Lin Xun turned to look and saw a seductive woman dressed in semi-transparent light gauze, walking towards him step by step. Under the light gauze, it was simply a scene of moral decay!

“Young master, there’s no one here. How about you and I get some exercise?”

    “I have a wife.”

“Wouldn’t that make it even more wonderful?”

“Miss, not only are you not human, but there’s something not right about you either.”

Realizing she had been seen through, the woman’s smiling face froze, and she turned to leave.

But Lin Xun took a step forward.

With just one step, an immense spiritual pressure instantly bore down on her. The woman deflated like a popped balloon, and before she could even scream, she turned into a painted skin and a paper talisman, fluttering to the ground.

Picking up the paper talisman, Lin Xun finally realized that this was a magical tool from the Myriad Demons Sect. However, it was a puppet technique he had never seen before. It must be a new development from the Myriad Demons Sect. He didn’t know why it was absorbing yang energy.

What are these guys doing? Why did they make an inflatable one?

Lin Xun shook his head. Using the Myriad Demons Sect’s secret technique to trace the talisman, in just an instant, he found the locations of all the inflatable night succubi!

However, by the time Lin Xun found them, most of the puppets had already been burned, emitting the smell of pigskin (as they were originally made from pigskin).

“Well, I’ll be. Is the City Lord’s manor that efficient?” Lin Xun felt that his help seemed a bit superfluous.
The next morning, the government office issued another notice.

“What does it say?” In the courtyard, Jiang Qingshang, who had just woken up, naturally sat in her husband’s lap, snuggling into his embrace like a small cat, and asked in a lazy, drowsy voice.

Looking at the notice, Lin Xun smiled. “The government says the night succubus has been eliminated, and the Lantern Festival will be held as scheduled.”

“See?” Her fair little face pressed against her husband’s chest, the young woman kept her eyes closed and smiled. “I told you, it would be fine soon.”

“Indeed.” Lin Xun gently held his wife.

“That night succubus wasn’t as pretty as me, actually,” the young woman said softly in her husband’s arms.

“Mm, I know.” Lin Xun stroked his wife’s long, smooth hair.

The young woman raised her head slightly in her husband’s embrace and smiled. “You’ve never seen her, so how do you know?”

“Because my wife is the number one beauty under the heavens.”

The young woman’s eyes curved into a smile, making the early summer morning lose its luster.
    “Isn’t that so…”
