Chapter 421: How is it? Do I look good?
by AshPurgatory2025“Your Highness. How is this?”
Inside the Immortal Cave of the Saintess Peak in the Ten Thousand Demon Sect.
The maid had just finished arranging the young lady’s hair.
The young lady stood up and walked to a full-length silver mirror.
At this moment, the young lady wore a floor-length brocade gown interwoven with moon-white and light pink.
The hem of the skirt and the cuffs were edged with silver thread, the cuffs adorned with intricate light-yellow patterns. A light-pink gauze cape was draped over her shoulders, and the skirt was embroidered with large, beautiful Purple Mandarin Duck Flowers.
A cascade of cherry-pink hair flowed down her shoulders, just reaching her slender willow-like waist.
Around her waist was tied a pinkish-white belt, accentuating her well-proportioned figure, with strange patterns densely covering its surface.
These patterns symbolized the various Halls and Peaks of the Ten Thousand Demon Sect, representing the young lady’s burden of responsibility for all of them.
However, many of these Halls and Peaks wished for this young lady not to meddle in their affairs.
She slightly lifted her small foot.
The young lady wore embroidered shoes adorned with lilies, edged with soft fox fur, and decorated with jade ornaments on both sides, small and exquisite.
Her jade-like wrists were adorned with two jadeite bracelets, which chimed pleasantly when she moved her hands; these were the first birthday gift her Senior Brother had ever given her.
Although her Senior Brother sent her a birthday gift every year, and she cherished each one immensely,
her favorite was still the bracelet he had given her that first time.
Lifting her delicate face slightly, her captivating light-pink eyes shimmered with a clever and charming luster. Her cherry lips were tinted with a honey-like light pink, and her ears were adorned with tassel earrings.
A slanted Purple Mandarin Duck Flower hairpin hung with a fine silver tassel, and a silver-patterned butterfly clip held her bangs in place.
Her delicate, fair hands tightly grasped a longsword.
The longsword was the young lady’s personal sword, one of the Ten Thousand Demon Sect’s demonic weapons.
The sword’s name was Falling Cherry Blossom.
It was remarkably similar to the young lady herself.
“How is it? Do I look good?”
Turning around, Su Ying looked at the maid before her.
“Yes.”
The maids all curtsied in unison. There was no woman in the world more beautiful than Your Highness.
This was not flattery, but their sincere words.
All the maids believed no one could possibly look more beautiful than Your Highness did today.
“It’s a pity the Saint cannot see you like this.”
One maid couldn’t help but sigh, but was promptly elbowed in the stomach by a maid beside her.
“This servant misspoke. Please punish me, Your Highness.”
Realizing her blunder, the maid placed her hands before her and knelt on both knees.
“It’s fine.”
Su Ying smiled faintly.
“Although my appearance today cannot be seen by my Senior Brother, it doesn’t matter.”
Su Ying looked out the window, her eyes sparkling with joy and anticipation:
“I will manage everything in the Ten Thousand Demon Sect well, awaiting my Senior Brother’s return. I will don the most beautiful wedding dress and, along with myself, offer the most beautiful everything to my Senior Brother.”
Hearing their mistress’s words, the maids raised their heads.
What they saw was the young lady’s peerlessly beautiful face turned towards the window.
Even as fellow women, the maids were momentarily stunned.
It seemed only their own Saintess was worthy, and qualified, to marry the peerless Lin Xun.
“Let’s go. Let’s see what kind of surprise those old fogies have prepared for me today.”
“Yes!”
The maids stood up, lifted the train of Su Ying’s gown, and followed her out of Saintess Peak.
When Su Ying stepped onto the summit of Saintess Peak, she was met by the representatives selected from each Hall and Peak to welcome her.
Whoever they were, upon seeing the woman before them, they were all momentarily stunned.
It was as if a Fairy from the heavens, presiding over billions of cherry blossoms, had mistakenly entered the Mortal World, stunningly beautiful, inspiring admiration and devotion.
Su Ying boarded a Celestial Boat.
The Celestial Boat carried Su Ying towards the Sacrificial Ceremony, and the chosen representatives from each Hall and Peak naturally followed.
The location of the Sacrificial Ceremony was a plain atop the Ten Thousand Demon Sect’s highest peak.
At the forefront of this small plain stood a massive statue.
The statue depicted the founding ancestor of the Ten Thousand Demon Sect.
Arriving before Su Ying, tens of thousands of Cultivators from the Ten Thousand Demon Sect were already assembled on the plain.
Their positions were arranged according to their status.
The Celestial Boat descended, and Su Ying walked to the front of the sacrificial altar.
Beneath the statue, the young lady now resembled a goddess.
“A million years ago, the Heavenly Demons descended, plunging the world into chaos.”
Facing hundreds of thousands of Ten Thousand Demon Sect Disciples, Su Ying parted her lips slightly and began reciting the sacrificial rites.
After finishing the recitation, Su Ying began offering incense to Heaven, Earth, and the Great Dao.
First, three bows to the heavens.
The young lady knelt on both knees before the altar.
Then, three kowtows to the earth.
The young lady rose, and finally paid distant respects to the ancestors.
Nine gestures in total.
Taking the ultimate number.
Led by the young lady, the entire sect began chanting ancient scriptures.
No one knew the exact meaning of these scriptures.
But as the entire sect chanted, the Dao’s resonance flowed between heaven and earth, solemn and dignified.
With the final word spoken,
the Sacrificial Ceremony came to an end.
But everyone knew that the true significant event of the day was only just beginning.
Some even had cold sweat already beading on their foreheads.
They suspected that in the next moment, the forces of the Saintess would clash with those of the other Halls and Peaks!
“Esteemed members.”
Su Ying’s voice rang out, and everyone’s hearts tightened at that moment.
“It has been over seven years since my Senior Brother—Lin Xun—disappeared.
And it has been eight years since our Master entered seclusion.
During these seven or eight years, while acting as Sect Master of the Ten Thousand Demon Sect, I have not made a single mistake.
During the demonic sect purges of that period, our Ten Thousand Demon Sect suffered the least losses.
I, Ying, claim no great merit, but I have certainly committed no fault.
Now, with my Senior Brother’s whereabouts unknown, and our Master’s fate uncertain within his sealed chamber,
I, Ying, wish to formally inherit the position of Sect Master of the Ten Thousand Demon Sect!
What do you all think?”
“I think not!”
As soon as Su Ying finished speaking, a voice of opposition was heard from the front ranks, not far away.
“Why not?”
Su Ying was neither hurried nor annoyed, merely responding with a smile.
“May I ask the Blood Saber Hall Master, in all my actions, which point has failed to comply with the Sect’s regulations?”
The Demon Blade Hall Master stepped forward: “Your Highness’s actions naturally comply with the Holy Land’s regulations. They are reasonable in principle, but unacceptable in sentiment!”
“Oh?”
Su Ying’s eyes curved slightly.
“In sentiment? Whose sentiment? Since when in the Ten Thousand Demon Sect does sentiment outweigh reason?
If it’s about sentiment, then perhaps the Hall Master should assume the position of Sect Master?”
“You!” Hearing Su Ying directly trying to pin the ‘plotting for the Sect Master position’ label on him, the Demon Blade Hall Master angrily took a step forward.
“Hahaha!”
At that moment, the Demon Sword Hall Master laughed heartily and stepped forward.
“Regardless of sentiment or reason, we must still complete this final step, no?”
“Senior Xie makes a valid point. Then, let us proceed with the toast.”
As Su Ying’s words fell, the selected Disciples from each Hall and Peak stepped forward one by one to offer toasts.
Su Ying needed to drink them all.
