Chapter Index

“I want to tell you a secret.”

She Qiqi looked at Lin Xun with a smile, a thick sense of playfulness flashing in her eyes.

“I don’t want to hear it.”

Lin Xun gave She Qiqi a flat look.

Whenever she acted like this, Lin Xun knew that whatever She Qiqi was about to say would certainly not be anything good.

“But what if I just have to let you know?”

She Qiqi sat on the stone table, her flawless long legs dangling at a ninety-degree angle beneath her skirt.

She propped herself up with her small hands on either side, her feet swinging gently.

“Besides, Lin Xun, do you really not want to know? This concerns your wife, Jiang Qing.”

Lin Xun’s eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at She Qiqi. “Since you’ve been able to investigate so much about me, then, She Qiqi, you should know my bottom line.”

“Don’t worry, I haven’t done anything to her yet. Before I’ve completely won you over, I currently have no way of doing anything to her anyway…”

She Qiqi smiled, her eyes curving.

“However, in the future, whether she will do something to you, I wouldn’t know.”

“If you have something to say, say it. Don’t speak in riddles.”

Lin Xun remained constantly alert, trying not to let her words pull him into her rhythm.

Lin Xun knew that She Qiqi’s cultivation strength was actually not low.

But Lin Xun had never truly taken her strength to heart.

In Lin Xun’s view, what made him most wary was what She Qiqi displayed beyond her cultivation.

This woman was like the ocean—impenetrable. Beneath a calm and beautiful surface, she could swallow everything whole.

    “Then I’ll just speak plainly.”

She Qiqi tilted her head, her smile in the afternoon sun as brilliant as a summer flower.

“Actually, your wife Jiang Qing has another identity.”

    “Finish it!”

“Honestly, you really are a man who doesn’t appreciate romance.”

She Qiqi hopped down from the stone table, her skirt fluttering as she lightly glided to Lin Xun’s side. She placed her hands on his shoulders and spoke softly.

The woman’s delicate, fragrant breath gently toyed with the fine hairs on Lin Xun’s ear.

    “Your wife, Jiang Qing.”

    “Actually.”

    “Her real name is.”

    “Jiang Qingshang.”

She Qiqi’s voice was very light, as light as a summer breeze.

However, every single word She Qiqi spoke was etched clearly into Lin Xun’s heart.

“You think I’ll believe that?” Lin Xun’s brow furrowed.

    “You don’t?”

She Qiqi stepped back a few paces and twirled happily, her skirt opening and closing like a floral parasol.

Lin Xun looked directly at her graceful figure. “Why should I believe you?”

“The successive Holy Lords of the Zilin Holy Land practice the Zilin Immortal Method.”

She Qiqi held her hands behind her back, playfully kicking her feet as she spoke.

“And to practice the Zilin Immortal Method, according to the rules of the Zilin Holy Land, the Disciples must travel to the Mortal World for experience.

The Zilin Immortal Method is quite miraculous. Its most wondrous aspect is that the practitioner will have two identities.

This isn’t using illusions to mask one’s appearance; rather, even the bone structure changes, effectively becoming another self.

No matter how high your Realm is, you cannot detect it, because this is fundamentally her.”

Lin Xun said coldly, “And based on just that, I’m supposed to believe you?”

“Lin Xun, have I ever lied to you?”

She Qiqi continued, as if Lin Xun’s disbelief was exactly what she had expected.

“I have never lied to you.

Besides, what does it matter whether you believe it or not?

Because the fact is simply so.

If it comes to it, you can go verify it yourself.”

In an instant, She Qiqi was in front of Lin Xun again.

A head shorter than Lin Xun, She Qiqi looked up at him with a smile.

“I’m looking forward to it—looking forward to what thoughts you’ll have in your heart once you’ve truly verified the truth, and what decision you’ll make then.”

Lin Xun only looked flatly at She Qiqi. “Do you think I’ll believe you based solely on your word?”

    “Who knows?”

In the courtyard, She Qiqi’s figure gradually faded away.

“Lin Xun, anyone might deceive you, but I’m the only one who won’t. Thinking about it that way, aren’t you a little touched?”

The moment She Qiqi’s words landed, her figure completely vanished.

Standing alone in the courtyard, Lin Xun’s brow furrowed slightly.

After a long while, Lin Xun let out a deep breath and turned to leave.

“Husband. Actually, I am the Saintess of the Zilin Holy Land.”

    “No, no, that won’t do.”

“Husband, actually, your wife has another identity. Husband, guess what it is?”

“Oh, what’s there to guess? That won’t do either.”

“Husband, I am the Zilin Saintess, Jiang Qingshang! Since your wife lied to you anyway, you can punish me however you like!”

“No… that feels a bit embarrassing.”

“Husband. Actually, there is something I want to tell you. This matter goes back to six years ago.”

    “Is that too wordy?”

On Saintess Peak, the young woman paced back and forth in the courtyard.

Even after returning from the Fuchen Holy Land, Jiang Qingshang’s mood was still extremely nervous.

In fact, the girl’s current mood was far more anxious than when she had gone to the Fuchen Holy Land to Seal that Demonic Well.

On the way back, Jiang Qingshang had been thinking about how to tell her husband the truth.

A day ago, Jiang Qingshang had received a Flying Sword from Elder Yun Yun, stating that they would return to the Zilin Holy Land today.

She hadn’t slept all night. From early morning, the girl had been in the courtyard, rehearsing over and over again.

But no matter how much she practiced, she felt she wasn’t achieving the desired effect.

    “Husband. Actually, your wife…”

    “Sister Qingshang, Yaya is back!”

Just as the girl was still pondering how to explain things to her husband, Yaya’s voice suddenly came from the distance, giving Jiang Qingshang a start.

If Yaya was back, then her husband must be back as well.

At that thought, Jiang Qingshang’s heart raced violently, and her fair fingers tightly gripped her skirt.

However, when she saw Yaya and the Dragon Cry sisters, but did not see her husband, Jiang Qingshang’s heart suddenly sank.

    “Senior Sister Jiang.”

The two sisters performed a formal bow to Jiang Qingshang.

“It’s good that you’re back.” Jiang Qingshang picked up Yaya and asked coolly, “But where is the other person?”

“When Senior Brother Lin passed through Luo City, he said he wanted to visit an old friend. He’ll be back before dark,” Long Leier explained briefly.

“I see.” Knowing her husband was safe, Jiang Qingshang breathed a sigh of relief. “The journey must have been exhausting. Go and rest first.”

    “Yes.”

The Dragon Cry Twin Girls returned to their own courtyard, while Yaya was taken by a maid to chase butterflies in the mountain woods.

While Jiang Qingshang was waiting for her husband to return, the maid Xiao Chan first descended from the peak.

“Your Highness, there is a letter for you.”
