Chapter Index

Inside the Lantern Riddle Garden, Lin Xun held Jiang Qingshang’s small hand as they strolled beneath the various red lanterns.

Beneath every lantern was tied a red slip of paper, on which a riddle was written.

Red silk ribbons connected tree after tree, making it seem as if the moon’s clear radiance was stained by the red hues of the Lantern Riddle Garden.

Pedestrians came and went in the Lantern Garden, and the deep crimson light, dissolved in the moon’s clear radiance, fell upon the young girl’s cheeks, making her appear even more bashful and lovely.

“Husband.” Beneath a red lantern, Jiang Qingshang held the red slip of paper in her fair, small hands. “A thousand ages linked, a knife cannot sever. Guess a single character. What is it?”

    “Let me think about it.”

Lin Xun walked closer, gently wrapped one arm around his wife’s slender waist, and used his other hand to cover her small hand, holding the slip of paper together.

Looking at the slip, Lin Xun frowned in contemplation, appearing very serious.

But in reality, Lin Xun was thinking about how he could find an excuse to leave for a while.

Wang Xing was probably already waiting for him by now.

If Qinger found out, Lin Xun would only have two choices.

One was to ask Qinger to allow him to take Wang Xing as a Secondary Wife.

The second was to obediently be suppressed beneath a rock.

“Haven’t you figured it out yet, Husband?” Leaning her soft body against Lin Xun’s shoulder, Jiang Qingshang asked with curved eyes.

“Ah, I guessed it.” Lin Xun couldn’t keep pondering. “It’s the character ‘Qing’!”

    “Qing?”

“That’s right, it’s the character ‘Qing’ from Qinger. A thousand ages linked, a knife cannot sever—for me, if it’s not ‘Qing,’ what else could it be?”

“Husband… stop fooling around. It’s clearly the character ‘Gua’.” Jiang Qingshang’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she gently bit Lin Xun once.

Although Jiang Qingshang sounded slightly angry, the young girl was actually very happy. Her gentle bite wasn’t hard, and it didn’t even leave a tooth mark.

“Congratulations, Madam. This Madam has guessed correctly.”

Although the old man responsible for the riddles was disgusted by the young man’s cheesy behavior, he dutifully handed a prize ticket to the beautiful young girl.

“Thank you, Elder.” Jiang Qingshang happily accepted the prize ticket, put it into Lin Xun’s embrace, and continued pulling Lin Xun forward to guess more riddles.

“Selling charcoal to earn money, what is the purpose? Husband, please guess a character.” The girl stood beside the lantern, playful and cheerful.

“Could it be the character ‘Yu’?”

“My husband isn’t that stupid after all.” Jiang Qingshang took down the red paper and lightly tapped Lin Xun’s cheek with her soft cherry lips. “A reward for my husband.”

If it had been before, with such a reward, Lin Xun felt he could have torn down the entire Lantern Riddle Garden.

But now, if he didn’t leave soon, it would truly be too late.

“Qinger, how about we have a competition?”

Playing with his wife’s small hand, Lin Xun said gently.

    “A competition?”

“Yes. We’ll split up. Within the incense stick time, let’s see who gets more prize tickets. The winner can make one request of the loser.”

Jiang Qingshang curved her eyes: “Can it be any request?”

“Any request at all!” Lin Xun’s heart was bleeding. He felt he had missed an opportunity to make Qinger cosplay a certain silver-haired rich woman.

“Alright then. Husband, you must not break your promise.”

“It’s Qinger who shouldn’t break her promise. We’ll meet back here in half an incense stick time.”

Lin Xun smiled and playfully scraped Jiang Qingshang’s delicate, upturned nose.

“Alright then, Husband. You should prepare yourself mentally.”

Jiang Qingshang reluctantly left Lin Xun’s embrace and walked toward the deeper parts of the riddles.

Lin Xun wiped a bead of cold sweat from his forehead and quickly left the Lantern Garden.

“Sorry for the wait. There were too many people, it was quite crowded.”

Leaving the Lantern Garden, Lin Xun used the Shrinking Ground into an Inch technique, arriving at East Street in less than two breaths of time. He then spent thirty seconds straightening his clothes and found Wang Xing, who was carrying a bag of goldfish.

“No, I didn’t wait too long.” Seeing Lin Xun arrive, Sikong Wangxing’s eyes were filled with joy.

“Let’s go. What do you want to play?” Lin Xun walked along the street with Sikong Wangxing.

    “Anything is fine.”

Sikong Wangxing followed closely behind Lin Xun, but the street was too crowded, and the girl was soon squeezed into the throng of people.

Watching the girl being squeezed in the crowd, Lin Xun grabbed her wrist, pulled Wang Xing out, and sheltered her by his side: “Stay close. We just need to get through this section.”

“Mhm.” The girl, tightly protected by Lin Xun in front of him, had bright red cheeks.

Especially feeling his body warmth behind her, Sikong Wangxing’s mind went completely blank.

But even having lost the ability to think, the girl still protected the goldfish in her hand, instinctively preventing them from suffering any harm.

Even though any random Spirit Fish in the pond of the courtyard where the girl lived was countless times more valuable than these two ordinary small goldfish.

“Wang Xing, what do you want to play?”

Escorting Sikong Wangxing past the most crowded section, Lin Xun brought the girl to various small stalls.

Twenty minutes. After twenty minutes, he had to rush back.

“Anything is fine.” The girl whose wrist was still being tightly held felt her cheeks burning hot.

Following Sikong Wangxing’s gaze, Lin Xun finally noticed that he was still holding her wrist.

    Lin Xun quickly let go.

The girl’s fair, tender wrist was already slightly red from Lin Xun’s tight grip.

    “Let’s… let’s go archery.”

    “Archery?”

    “Mhm.”

Lin Xun brought Sikong Wangxing to a small stall, put down twenty Wen Qian: “Boss, ten arrows please.”

“Alright!” The Boss responded, handing over the bow and ten arrows stripped of their heads and fletching.

However, upon seeing Lin Xun, the Boss froze for a moment.

Wait, hasn’t he seen this guy before? He wasn’t with this girl just now, was he?

Why are both girls so beautiful?

    Who is the primary wife?

    This guy’s got game.

Lin Xun took the arrows and handed them to Sikong Wangxing.

Sikong Wangxing, who had never shot an arrow before, was a little nervous, but she still struck the archery pose she remembered, though it was slightly awkward.

“You’re applying force incorrectly like that; it’s easy to hurt your shoulder.”

Lin Xun stepped forward, moved his body close to Sikong Wangxing, held both of her hands, nocked the bow, and drew the arrow.

An arrow shot out, knocking down a Panda-style cloth doll onto the ground.

“How was that? Did you grasp the trick?”

Lin Xun released Sikong Wangxing’s small hands.

The girl now hugged the bow and arrows tightly to her chest, lowered her head, and the flush on her face had spread down to her fair neck.

    Damn it!

Lin Xun realized his action just now seemed overly intimate, and he felt awkward standing there for a moment.

Just then, several cute little luolis, protected by Guards, passed through the crowded street and arrived at the Amusement Street.

“Yaya, look, isn’t that Mr. Lin?”

The Little Girl named Rourou tugged on Yaya’s sleeve.

Yaya, who was eating a Sugar Gourd, looked up.

    Eh?

    Big Brother Lin!

But wasn’t Big Brother Lin with Elder Sister Qinger?

Why is he with Elder Sister Wang Xing?
